• Nataliya (10/5): - Me and my sister stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, very beautiful hotel, close to main tourist attraction, not too far from tramway , all the guys that work there very nice and helpful, they do speak English, they are trying to help you with all your needs, I absolutely love their terrace, very beautiful view, that’s where they serve breakfast, love that breakfast included in your stay, it was very good, the only thing, I wish there’s more juice selection, not just orange, didn’t like the taste of that orange juice, other then that, it’s all perfect, salads good, one day they had this very delicious some pink dessert like pudding , wish it was there every day, yes I would stay there again and absolutely recommend this beautiful place.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Power cut due to water leakage - We were allocated a room with a bathroom that has water leakage from the ceiling, making the bathroom very wet. This has caused power cut in the whole room and we were told to just turn on the bathroom mirror lights. We asked to change rooms but were told there weren’t any availaility. Walls are also very thin and we could hear people from next door talking. Overall not a good stay but for £40 I can’t complain much.
• Milind (4/5): Terrible decision to stay here!!! - It was our family trip along with our 22 months old baby. As seen in their pictures for Roof top breakfast experience we booked this stay but when we reached hotel they told us is closed and they don’t know when it will open again. Room we got with ocean view was very very small. They did not provide house keeping throughout our stay of 3nights 4days. Cheap quality small refrigerator was kept in room caused all the baby food spoiled. All of the Staff members are rude. We booked airport transfer thru them from IST airport to hotel & return; even though we communicated our baggage count to their receptionist, he provided small car/van both ways & were charged extra money by driver at the airport at the time of return drop off. There were so many disappointing moments we faced thru out the our stay which caused us to regret staying here. So think twice before booking at hotel Daphne. Thanks.

• Ali (10/5): - This was my first time staying in Istanbul, the hotel staff was very helpful in arranging for transport to and from airport at ok price, and in giving suggestions for activities. Walking distance to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, as well and Grand Bazar. Only criticism is that the room had smell of smoking in it, so i had to keep the airconditioner fan working the whole time to get rid of the smell.

The practically kicked us out from their lobby after arriving early hours of the morning while waiting for check in. Toilets are disgusting and dirty. Luggage was left in the corridor where any one could have walked off the street and taken it. Unsafe and not family friendly. Would never ever recommend. We have to pay an extra £800 to stay at another hotel. The workers here are liars - lying to Expedia saying we had check in and that we were given a deluxe room - lies! We booked standard and we didn’t even get to the room after your rudeness!
• Naeem (2/5): - Scammers! They’re trying to scam with us on 1st October when I reached at hotel daphne they sent us to another hotel for night stay and when we checked out on 4th October they demand more money and behave rudely. Manager behaviours isn’t good. Be aware they scam with tourists

Our reservation was a standard room, but they put us in the first day in an economy room, but in the second day they transfered us to a standard room. Something which was very disappointed, there was a door between us and the next room, we could hear everything from the voice of the next guests !! it was so disturbable!!

Staff are rude especially the cleaning lady she was rolling her eyes every time I asked for something. She got mad a few time she was yelling at her language at us . Not a customer service environment. Ppl are plain rude their. Room had mold on selling.
• Anas (8/5): - The hotel lies in a walking distance to the old bazar and the museums, the traffic in the area is horrible, so be aware not to rent a car if you are staying in this area in general. The hotel itself is old, but kept functional as much as possible, it is clean with daily room service. Rooms of reasonable size, the views towards Marmara sea are good from the top floor. As good as a budget hotel can be, functional clean rooms, and polite and helpful staff. The roof terrace was closed as per previous reviews so i doubt if it will ever be open.
• Syed (2/5): - Terrible customer service. Booked connected rooms 3months in advance. When arrived, staff said to wait for 2 hours as no room is available and then allocated two separate rooms. Washrooms exhaust were out of service. After complaining, changed the room after 2 nights stay. Water supply was cutoff one morning for 3hours without any notice that ruined our schedule for entire day.. Specially requested to extend our check out time as international flight was late at evening but they didn't listen and refused. Staff is rude and unpleasant. Not recommended at all. Poor customer service.

• Zoheb (4/5): - I am only giving this review on my personal experience. I requested a double bed but was given two single beds. The toilet door could only be unlocked by a toothpick. There was no blinds on the windows so light would always show in the mornings. As there was no kettle, I had to purchase my own I asked for some sugar and was told I had to buy this and they couldn’t give it. From my experience this was not a 4 star hotel as the breakfast that was included was just a small table and I had go out and eat in a cafe where I paid 70 liras for a decent breakfast, and the rooms felt really small in the hotel. I can’t complain about the location as it was 2 mins walk to the blue mosque, I came across 5 staff members one was arrogant and the other 4 were perfect.

Smell really bad..old food/breakfast,, bed bugs,, bothersome noise of running and dropping water from the bathroom . It's like hostel not a hotel. Our room number was 403 and paid $65 for one night. No juice is offeredd,Breakfast is geberally poor.I booked a standard room with a sea view. Oktay(receptionist) said that the photoes on the website is not important. You can not have a sea view room!! while the photo for the standard room was showing it has a sea view. He embarresed me infront of my girlfriend and asked for me extra 50 euro to have a sea view. I paied 40 and he gave me a receipt of 80 euro room claiming and pretending that he already gave me discount. But after a few days I noticed that the receipt does not blong to me, and it is a receiot for other peaople, not me. In addition, Once at 8 am in the morning, i was naked sitting behind my laptop. suddenly one of the receptionists opened our room door, without any pre-notification. I am sure that it was mistake, but assume that how could be if I was naked with mygirlfriend in the bed!! My girlfriend hair color destroyed one of the towels. OKtay said that I should pay 10 Turkish Lira as a compensations. I emphesized 10 Turkish lir? He said yes, But when I was cheking out, I have been charged 10 Euro!! Cleaners were kind, specially Jameel, who was wonderful. Overally, The Hotel does not value the price. you can find better one even for cheaper price.They made my mind too busy, bad memory of my vacation!

• ratichon (6/5): Comfortable hotel near Sultanahmet - This was the second time in four years that I stayed at the Daphne and the price has certainly increased over this period! Rooms are comfortable, the breakfast offers a wide choice and it's within walking distance of the main attractions of Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, etc). Staff seemed a little remote and offhand and many of the items on the menu of the rooftop restaurant weren't available on the first night when we arrived late and felt like a snack.
• QI WEN (6/5): Not bad for short stay - We spent two night there. Overall it's not bad but a second visit is not recommended. The front desk is very helpful. They will give you all the information you need. The location is great. Not just because it's only 5 minutes walk to Blue Mosque but it has a small supermarket near it - just around the corner. Breakfast is average , or below average. Room is clear and comfortable. Even though wifi is unstable for specific rooms. BUT, don't join the Bosphorus Cruise they recommend. Pierre Lotti hill has a very good view about the city. But overall the trip won't worth its price. If you just want to have a kind of Europe left, Asia right feeling, just go straight to ferry and take a 25 TL full trip. Transportation: 47 TL for two ( one way), slightly cheaper than taxi. It takes 30 minutes to pick up all the guests and another 35 minutes go IST.

• Enrique (8/5): Great little hotel in Sultanahmet - My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and were very comfortable. The room is spacious, and so is the bathroom. The staff was very helpful and curtious. It's on a hill so if you have problems getting around this hotel isn't for you.

• Tanya (8/5): Good hotel in the old city - I stayed at Daphne in end of June during 3 nights. Hotel is situated in very center of the old city. 10 minutes to the Blue mosque and Hagia Sofia. Close to the tram station. Fantastic view from hotel terrace and good food in the restaurant. Very cosy rooms, clean and spacious. The only thing hotel is situated near pretty busy street. So till about 2 am it can be noisy in the room unless you close the windows. Which is not okay as then you'll get no fresh air. Also close distance to mosques means loud preys from minarets in the deep night. But all in all great stay and very nice stuff.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Great location. - The best thing about this hotel is the location, close to the main attractions. The rooms are small and even though mine was a non-smoking room there was a constant smoke smell in the evenings when I went to bed, coming in from somewhere. Staff was very cordial, but on the last day when I asked how long it would take to get to the airport I was given incomplete information which meant I was left scrambling to make to my flight on time. Breakfast had actually more variety than the other hotels I stayed in during my Turkey trip.
• Nana (10/5): Great location-very near to Sultanahmet/BlueMosque - Good facilities just for rest. Excellence location - less than 5 minutes walk to the sultanamet square. They have a terrace with a wonderful view to catch the sunset. A recommendation for all staying to be up there for an evening. As i arrived early 7am, the room was not ready for me to check in. Hence after breakfast the front desk staff who was off duty kindly offered me to walk me around. They also kindly arrange airport shuttle which was pretty cheap, about 20-30 lira.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Great room, nice location but bad service - We stayed in this hotel for 4 days. It is located close to the main tourist attractions which takes about 10 minutes. Breakfast was good and room was very modernly decorated, spacious and clean. Roof top patio was the best with a great ocean view. The hotel itself was great, however, the staff was not at all attentive. They do not greet people, no smile and very offical attitude. We felt a bit uncomfortable asking questions. When my wife and I were having drinks at the roof top patio and were about to pay with cash, the waiter (also doing bellboy services) made an angry look because they didnt have change. We said we can pay with CC instead, my wife was very intimitated by his attitude, and consequently ruined our night. After this event we noticed all staff were quite unfriendly and should be changed or better trained for this hotel to be at the higher level it deserves. During our stay my wife wanted to go to any other hotel due to this uncomfortable feeling.

• Jibran (8/5): Our Istanbul trip April 2015 - The hotel is ideally located with a five minute walk to the blue mosque, Topkapi and Haga Sofia museums. The staff are courteous and the breakfast is great. Rooms are good, we requested one queen size bed but got two single beds joined together. Help desk staff is helpful and give guidance about tours and activities. However probably their English comprehension is slightly lacking as I experienced several times during my stay, for example before coming I had called up the hotel for airport transfer, and was told both way airport transfer shall cost me 85 tl, but I was asked to pay that amount in cash upfront for a single way. Secondly I had requested late check out, and had repeatedly reminded the help desk, they said it was no problem, however at 12 they started calling me and saying guests are waiting to check in and I need to check out by 12. They refused to acknowledge their earlier promise and said they never agreed on late check out. Lastly during our tours, the help desk informed we shall return to hotel by midnight, so they offered a complementary cheese sandwich from the hotel as dinner. When we came back at night they said it was not possible, and it may be provided next time. During the next tour the same thing happened and I walked for 30 minutes at 1:30 am to find an open Restraunt. Other than these, overall a good experience and nice hotel with elevator.
• Mohamed (8/5): Nice location, friendly staff - Hotel Daphne is a nice small hotel in the historic Sultanahmet area. The room was little smaller than expected but appropriate for the price. The room was clean but what impressed me the most is the staff who were very helpful. I woke up late and checked out right at the time of the airport shuttle and one of the staff packed me food to eat on the shuttle!!! One thing that I should mentioned is that the hotel is difficult to find and cabbies/locals do not know all hotels by name. So, write down the address and the phone number of the hotel before you leave as finding a wifi spot in that area is near impossible. Overall, I would recommend it given its proximity to attractions and sultanahmet station.

Breakfast was included and good. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. They set up a day cruise on the Bosphorus for my family that was the highlight of our stay. • two ladies (6/5): Was expecting a 5 star. - Room 401 was comfortable and very clean with great views. The rest if the hotel lacked anything resembling 5 star. The breakfast room was so tiny and packed with tables it was difficult to move. No clean table clothes all self service and food 2-3 star standard. That trip being my eleventh trip to Istanbul and stayed in far superior 3 and 4 star hotels. The location was good for access to all attractions. Sorry but cannot recommend and would not stay again
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, best bang for your buck! - 5-10 minute walk anywhere in Sultanahmet. Easy access to the tram that takes you around Istanbul. Great cafe on the rooftop with an excellent view of Sea of Marmara and the rest of the city. Staff is kind, rooms are cute and quaint.

• Frequent Traveler (8/5): Comfortable and clean - I found the location to be very good. A 3-4 minute walk to the southern end of the hippodrome and another minute to the Blue Mosque. Old style nieghborhood with rustic charm. Overall a good value. The room size are typical of European style, smaller but serviceable and clean. The roof top terrace has a nice view overlooking the city and the harbour to the south. Service at the front desk was cordial and helpful. I would consider staying at Hotel Daphne again.

• Mao (8/5): Perfect hotel for tourists (couples, no kids) - Loved it. Location was perfect. A couple of blocks from the Blue Mosque, in a very calm neighborhood. Breakfast was perfect, a hint of what Turkey will offer. The front desk people were very helpful and friendly. It's a small hotel, so don't expect big rooms.
• Hakima (8/5): Great location and very nice staff - The good thing about this hotel is definitely the central location in Sultanahmet area. Close to the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazar, the tramway, Hagia Sophia, ecc..... Very clean and the staff is very helpful. They gave me a room with a view on the Marmara sea (gorgeous view!) Breakfast was very good and diverse. The only negative point in the room is that the AC is noisy. I will definitely go back if needed.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet hotel near main tourist attractions - Really quiet place only 3min walk to the Great Mosque. Fantastic hotel staff, we went with our 16 month old and the staff was very helpful in making our stay comfortable. They have a very nice roof-top terrace with top views, but breakfast is in the ground floor. The room itself was ok, but we had probably the worst views of all rooms, 1st floor, backside looking at the aircondition chillers. I guess all other rooms must be way better. Still a recommendable place to stay and probably worth the fair price.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very good. Only negative was a noisey and not highly effective air conditioner. Might be pretty warm during hot weather. Room and bathroom was typically small European style, but adequate. Quaint and friendly.

We were told our room would be ready in a few minutes. 30mins later they told us "there has been an issue with the room but it'll be cleared up in a few minutes". One hour had past by. We again approached the desk and were told that "the room that you have booked is unavailable. There has been a plumbing issue and we are unable to host you in that room. If you want, we can put you up in our sister hotel. It is just as nice." We agreed to take a look. To our dismay, it reeked of smoke and have not been cleaned since the last person checked out. There was garbage on the tables and floors. We were told "to leave your luggage and wait for the room to be clean. Will only take a few minutes." At this point, we were beyond angry. We had prepaid for a special class hotel and got shown a room of garbage. At this point, 2 hours had past since we had checked in. We complained and was told that they can give us another room at another sister hotel. We again agreed to look. The room shown was of motel quality. It was cleaner but definitely not the price we paid to stay at. We asked them about reimbursing us on the price difference if we agreed to stay at this motel and was told "they were the same price". 3hours had past. We threaten to cancel when magically a room became available. More issues ensue in the morning. In the end, they offered us no apologies and were very standoffish. The worst hotel.

• Verified traveler (6/5): great hcouples and families - I spent two nights at the Hotel Daphne- the staff here are excellent; especially Mr Okam on the front desk who was extremely helpful, My room was very small and noisy as it was next to the steps to the terrace restaurant, but for 2 nights was bearable, The breakfast buffet was very good with a great selection of both hot and cold food, The terrace restaurant has superb views but is overpriced (8 Euros for a Lamb Skewer and 4 Euros for a beer:) However you can sit on the terrace and just have a beer/cola and watch the fabulous sunset over the sea if you wish, There are cheaper restaurants very close to the hotel and just slightly up the hill: turn left out of the front door- and cross over the road and there is also an excellent mini mart down some steps where you can buy water cola, snacks etc -it also sells a small selection of very reasonably priced Turkish Delight and souvenirs ( I paid three times the amount for the same box of Turkish delight at the airport!..so buying at the mini mart is a much better bet,) Perhaps the greatest advantage of staying at this Hotel..is that it is just a two minute (yes..2..!) walk to all the great attractions, the Blue Mosque , The hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, the underground cysterns and much more,
• Verified traveler (4/5): Give it a miss - there are much better in Istanbul - I did not recognize The Daphne from the publicity photographs used on Expedia - air brushing by Photoshop in the extreme! By Turkish standards and particularly for this part of Istanbul the Hotel is OK but by international it is more two star than four star. The rooms are very, very small and two people with luggage would struggle to get into one on them. The restaurant is not worth even looking in on and as for the Terrace Restaurant - a couple of tables on the roof top! There are better, much better in Istanbul but they are all members of well known international chains and best to use the when you have the chance and leave the local hotels for the locals.
• Eatoti (8/5): It is very nice place and very nice service - The hotel has really good location in the old part of the town. People are very kind at the reception. They offered coffe and tea upon arrival. They were very helpful and polite. The breakfast is very nice as well as a view from the dinning room. Rooms are cute, but I was not getting along with the tech of the hotel (the tv was not working, locker in the room, lift). Overall nice experience.
• Andrew (4/5): Perfect location, good breakfast - The location is perfect. You can walk to most of the major sites and to the Tram. The Tram gets you to and from the airport and the whole city easily. You even have a great view over the city and out to the water from the terrace or from your room if you are lucky. The breakfast was very good with many options. We had only a minor maintenance issue with our toilet, it was overall a great experience.
• Conrad (8/5): I expected more - Hotel was okay for 4 star but for price at time of booking I expected more. Pluses: Had view of Marmara Sea, Quiet neighborhood, within ten minute walk of most old town sights, Nice breakfast room, okay breakfast selection. Room clean and daily service good.Minuses: TV poor quality, marginal HVAC. On a a second trip I would pick a lower-priced hotel in the area about 800 feet East of the Blue Mosque... much more interesting area. More hotel choices, better restaurants, etc. If you want the night club scene find a hotel near Taksim square and take the Funicular and Tram to get to the old town area; after a day of sight seeing in old town we were too tired at night to take transit over to Taksin.
• Chezz5 (10/5): Clean, convenient with very hospitable staff - We loved it. The Daphne is less than 2 minutes walk from the Hippodrome and The Blue Mosque and close to a host of shops, cafes and the tram. We stayed there for 9 nights. After 4 they moved us to a larger room with a view. There was nothing wrong with our first room but it was a little small for 9 days.We had only booked a standard room and for 3/4 nights which is what most people stay for, it would have been fine. Both rooms had very comfortable beds - very important when you have been out sightseeing all day! Whilst we didn't dine there (not quite sure why as the menu looked great and the terrace dining room has the most superb view of the Sea of Marmara and the Small Blue Mosque). The staff are very friendly and efficient. They arranged a transfer for us and it was great to be met at the airport and have no hassles finding a taxi who may or may not know the hotel. We find the staff couldn't be more helpful and they were extremely likeable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
• Elaine (4/5): 4 star hotel - no way - not in my opinion. - Hotel staff unco-operative. When we complained about a number of things nothing was done - was only on the third time when my husband stated to the receptionist we were extremely disappointed with our requests not being carried out was something done - that was on the third day of our seven day stay - think we gave them more than ample time to sort matters out - hotel was more of a 2 star than 4. One reason why we booked the hotel was because it had a roof top terrace - this was not always open and even though we were residents the only way we could sit out was to buy food and drink which was extremely expensive. One day we went to look at the view and were pushed out of the way by a waiter who was more concerned with non-residents coming in to pay for food and drink. No way would I recommend this hotel.
• Claire (10/5): Great hotel in a perfect location - This hotel is close to all attractions and is modern and has free wifi. Beds do not have a top sheet which is a bit uncomfortable but this is common in many hotels in Turkey. I was concerned about noise due to the closeness of the blue mosque etc but this was not a problem. Our room also had a great view of the water.

Best thing about Daphne is its Location, Heart of Sultanahmet, walking distance to some of famous tourists attractions like Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc. Staff is friendly, ready to help, rooms are not that big but cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is full of options and Rooftop Bar is having nice city & Sea view. They don't provide full bathroom accessories, you have to bring or buy these from outside like Shampoo, conditioner etc. Overall, nice place to stay.
• Thatcher (10/5): Great value, very helpful and friendly - Extremely happy with the value, great information and direction on how to do things using public transportation.....for great restaurants, activities and short trips. Our toilet was broken and repaired within a couple of hours. Our luggage was stored for 5days free of charge. Tickets were purchased without surcharges. A varied breakfast to suit all. The singing of prayers were heard throughout our time.....wonderful ambience!
• Ryan (8/5): Rude personal at night - I was staying at this hotel and my girlfriend in other hotel, so I book this hotel for a single one, the last day we arrive at 1;30 am and I was leaving at 4am for the airport so my girlfriend stayed with me for 4 hours, at the check out the guy was very rude cause I booked a single room and we were two even if we stay 4 hours, we start yeling cause i did not submit the passport for the other person, well obviously was not about the passport was about paying the extra person for the short time, that I paid at the end but the way he acted was very rude.

• Jackee (10/5): Miss Toronto, Ontario, Canada - I am writing this email for the Westerners and Single woman’s perspectives only. I stayed in room 205 from April 4-8 /2012. This lovely boutique hotel was stunning to visit. The staff were prompt and courteous with booking my tours, meeting my room needs and overall very professional in customer service. My room was cleaned well each time. The location of the hotel is surrounded by other boutique hotels. This hotel is very personable and you are more than just another number due to the smaller size in nature. The popular spot is called Sultanament square and seconds to walk to that location. The Blue Mosque is very close and yes! you can hear the call for prayer but faintly from my room. If you had the windows wide open then yes, you would hear it. However, the call to prayer is not a small set up. It is rather loud intentionally. It reminds me of the town hall format where you need to inform the masses. The call to prayer begins at 0530, 0930, 1315 etc x 5 in a day. It does take time to get use to it for us westerners do not have the church bells and call to prayer, music, parities etc occur in Toronto past 0200 due to the public laws etc. This hotel has a bar type area and roof top for dinning. There is a small elevator or you can use the winding stairs if your room is on the 2nd or 3rd floor. They have free wifi in the rooms as well as a laptop station in the living area for all to use if needed. How did I get to this hotel? I took a taxis and it was 50 TLs. However returning to the airport ask the front desk they have a great shuttle service which cost 15TLs. I am not sure why the shuttle service from arrivals did not offer me a great price; they were charging me 70TLs hence why I took a taxi. Overall loved the stay will come again and no regrets great experience.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great Place For Short Stay - Only stayed one night. I was looking for somewhere central, somewhere cheap, and somewhere with a clean room. Hotel Daphne definitely fit the bill in this department, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a budget friendly option in Istanbul. Staff were very friendly and I can't complain about being a couple blocks from the Blue Mosque. No view of the Blue Mosque from the roof however as I thought. You do get a view of the adjacent mosque though from the roof. FYI if you don't want to hear call to prayer 5 times a day, this hotel isnt for you - but I doubt you can find a hotel in Istanbul where you cant here this - thats part of the reason for visiting!

• Gene (8/5): Hotel Daphne in Instanbul, Turkey - This small hotel is located in the "old town" area of Istanbul and is only a few blocks away from some of the most important sights to see in Istanbul. Although the rooms are quite small, it comfortable with air conditioning etc. There is a Mosk just around the corner so expect to hear the "Call to Prayer" every morning around 6:00 am and numerous times during the balance of the day. There is a great place to eat just a few feet from the hotel, and I would stay there again if we go back to Instanbul.

Mali on reception let us use the office to book in on line for our flight and was always very pleasant and helpful with any information we needed.. Very clean and beautifully serviced. • Rich (10/5): Hotel Daphne in istanbul - nice, B&B type - Personnel are very friendly. Breakfast is fine. Wireless did not work in the room but in the lobby/breakfast area. Rooms are small (European) but very clean. The best part is the rooftop dining. A small and un-busy dining area with an out -standing view of much of the city and water. Very relaxing. I believe there are five floors and five +/- rooms per floor. Very close to all of the old town attractions. Everything is within walking distance and can be done in several hours if you don't dawdle. Definitely more like a B&B than a Marriott, but that's part of the charm. We were there end of September and weather was perfect.
• Jon (10/5): Great boutique hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet - This is a S Class boutique hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet. It is well maintained and has an excellent staff. The area older with much history and this is definitely one of the better choices for the neighborhood. The hotel was clean, comfortable and very convenient to all of the significant sites in Sultanahmet and Seragilo Point. I would definitely go back to Hotel Daphne.
