• Caroline (8/5): Für New York immernoch ein guter Deal - -Super Lage mit guter Anbindung in einer schönen Straße, hohe Decken der Zimmer lassen sie größer wirken -leise Zimmer -bequeme Betten -Möglichkeiten das Zimmer komplett abzudunkeln -komfortabel Check in -Die Dusche war ziemlich abgenutzt und hatte viele starke Kalkablagerungen. - Raum für große Koffer eher schwierig mit kleinen kein Problem -Konzept der Sonder Hotels sieht keinen täglichen Zimmer Service vor der ist ja auch nicht immer nötig aber würde einen Aufenthalt angenehmer gestalten wenn bspw. das Bett täglich gemacht wird.

They didn’t charge the sheets once whilst we were there, didn’t restock room amenities like coffee or toilet roll a few times - my husband had to ask where to get it himself. The cleaner threw away food/snacks we had brought in which was annoying as we hadn’t even checked out. For the price we paid and considering we booked this for our honeymoon, we expected a lot better.

• Naomi (2/5): - It was a very dingy and dirty place especially for the price. I was greatly disappointed and will never stay at another Sonder property again in my entire life. Scratch, nasty stains everywhere in the room and the entire property felt very old and dirty on the inside.

Consiglio vivamente perché gli aspetti sono soprattutto positivi ed è comodissimo. Purtroppo le pulizie non sono comprese proprio come concetto di base della struttura, quindi essendo la camera molto piccola e poco arieggiata o si prenotano le pulizie a pagamento o si rimane nello sporco e nell'umidità.

Slaapbank was bij aankomst niet opgemaakt en lakens waren vies. Badkamer was ook in slechte staat en oude douche. Verwachting was veel hoger als je naar de foto's kijkt.

Location is great; not a far walk from 9/11 Memorial, The Battery where you can take a boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty. Subway stops, drug stores, shopping, restaurants all very convenient. Hotel staff were all friendly & welcoming! Downstairs a bit dusty from construction. Room could have been more clean. Shower had a very visible hair ball sitting near drain & lids to coffee cups were covered in dust. I was not a fan of the shower design. The floor got very wet because there is only a glass wall covering half of the shower. I did not like the overhead showerhead at all. Something more adjustable would have worked better for me. Surprisingly, the room was very quiet, so peaceful & quiet that I slept in! I like the idea of this hotel. Codes were easy to use.

• Oliver Alexander (10/5): Könnte nicht besser sein! Perfekt und vielen lieben Dank dem Personal! - Wir waren nun schon zum zweiten Mal im Sonder in der Duane Street in Manhattan. Auch dieses Mal wieder ein außergewöhnlich toller Aufenthalt. Super nettes und sehr hilfsbereites Personal, sehr gute Lage, sehr schönes und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, trotz der Straßen absolut ruhig im Zimmer, sehr schönes Hotel im Art Deko-Stil, sehr gute Verkehrsanbindung zur Metro und Bus. Inzwischen wird auch ein Frühstücksraum gebaut. Wobei wir mit dem coolen Hungry Ghost Coffee schrägt gegegnüber eigentlich voll zufrieden waren. Es war toll von da dem New Yorker Leben jeden Morgen zuzusehen. Das Hotel bietet geräumige Schließfächer für die Koffer am letzten Tag. Ein Zimmersafe wäre wünschenswert

Lobby is currently under renovation. Only 1 lift and you can't tell what floor it is on, so sometimes the wait is long. Shower water pressure was quite sad.

• Emmanuelle (1/5): UNACCEPTABLE - Subject: Urgent Complaint and Request for Full Refund – Unacceptable Stay at Sonder Dear Booking Customer Support, I am writing to formally request a full refund for our recent stay at one of your properties, which was deeply disappointing and entirely unacceptable. To begin with, the images and descriptions on your booking and marketing platforms are seriously misleading. What we encountered upon arrival bore little resemblance to what was advertised. We arrived to find no concierge, no staff, and no doorman, just a code for entry. As tourists arriving without Wi-Fi access, this created immediate and unnecessary stress. The lack of on-site support was particularly unsettling. The condition of the unit itself was even more concerning: The bathroom sink was only partially attached to the wall, making it unsafe to use. All towels were damp and smelled musty, as though they hadn’t finished a drying cycle — an unhygienic and unacceptable condition. The windows were extremely dirty, making it nearly impossible to see outside. A massive air conditioning unit was installed directly above the bed, causing discomfort and preventing us from getting any sleep. Overall, the room was in very poor condition, and far from suitable for a paying guest. This experience was an extremely stressful and disappointing introduction to the city, and we were forced to leave the next day with all our luggage and find alternative accommodation — a significant disruption to our trip. We are therefore requesting a full refund and expect this matter to be resolved promptly. Please confirm receipt of this email and let us know when we can expect the refund to be issued. We have tried to reach you over the phone without success. Sincerely

• 494mimij (2/5): Flophouse of a "Hotel" - This place is a DUMP and should be avoided if you want a peaceful stay in a clean spot. Rooms are teeny, tiny; Windows were streaked and filthy; bathroom was utterly disgusting; Towels were like sand paper; luggage rack and ironing board were stored under the Bed! Who looks there for anything unless you dropped something?! You need a code to enter the building and your room because they have skeletal staffing- maybe 10am-4pm. Overall it was a terribly unpleasant experience and not worth the money spent. I can't believe this place is a Marriott property and will never be staying at this abomination of an "apartel".

When we arrived for check-in, they had given away our double queen room that we reserved and paid for, and put us in a single queen room. I then called customer service since there was no one at the front desk, and they put me on hold for an hour and never came back. We ended up with my husband and son sleeping on the floor. I will never stay here again and I am disputing the credit card charge.

I deeply loved the place, super spacious for one person, love for the large windows, just be cautious of the vis à vis but everything was great. Unfortunately the lobby space was party closed due to renovation, so was not able to fully take advantage of it, but this is a reason to get back to this place when I am in New york. Otherwise, the small lobby was functional with water at disposal, lockers self service and plugs for charging phones.

When someone was at the front desk, *which was surprisingly pretty often* they were lovely. Very helpful, and really sincerely friendly. That is the ONLY reason this wasn't a 1 star, wish-it-could-be-a-zero rating, is because of them. Unfortunately, this hotel will take a lot of time, money, construction, design, and cleaning to be the hotel represented in the photos. My room smelled like mildew, -addressed IMMEDIATELY by Steven, who had exhausted other options and initiated the cancellation of the remainder of my reservation, with a full refund, no penalties. (ty, Steven;). Also, the exterior of the window was filthy, and when I turned on the air, it fogged up.ew. It was like a hostel but one with a nice bathroom, tbh. I was saving this next bit for the scathing email that I'm ready to send when that refund hits. I'll put the abbreviated version here to qualify the sad, "poor" rating.. I was awakened at 2am, by a Sonder employee from a different location, pounding on my door like a lunatic. Yes, there is more to the story- obviously. I may have made a mistake, but at the end of the day, I'm still a guest in this... place. It's a New York "Aparthotel", I mean?!! You have NO idea what people are going thru. I was so embarrassed. I couldn't get the sound of her banging with her whole back, screaming at the top of her lungs, demanding I open the door

• Aleks (10/5): Great hotel with an elevator, great location with an elevator amd super frienldy stuff. - The location was perfect—just a two-minute walk to the ACE blue subway line and three minutes to the red 123 line. The room was clean, and the staff was amazing. Check-in was done through the Sonder app, and everything was super easy. I liked that hot water for showering was always available and that the air conditioning worked well. The room size was also perfectly adequate. The room door doesn’t seal properly, so every small noise can be heard when someone walks down the hallway or enters their room. The bed was broken and creaked a lot. The mattress is quite hard.

My friends were staying at the Warwick a one-minute walk away and I was so irritated because they paid less and their rooms were so fresh and chic and well-appointed. And they had housekeeping. For 500 USD a night I had no housekeeping. Oh, and I’m a top-tier Bonvoy member. But the Sonder doesn’t care.

Our biggest bug bear was that the room was really grubby and dirty in areas especially the bathroom lots of dust and grime around the corners of the room as well. The gentleman that was at the front desk was pleasant and I was trying to check in early as I was coming from another hotel I checked out of. He said check in is at 4PM, but would contact me when the room becomes available. I walked around for an hour and then came back and he said the room was available. The room was not the best. I was placed on the 2nd floor right above the construction that was going on in the lobby area below. The construction went on till about 6PM. Then continued around 9AM the following morning. There were also people outside my room taking measurements and being noisy. I’m not sure why you would place someone in that room knowing there would be construction going on directly below.

• Cyan (4/5): - Shame; the photos looked great. It’s possible that I was unlucky with the room (very low ceiling with a cranky and noisy temperament ceiling heating/AC unit)… I'd have left if I hadn't paid the whole stay in advance. The bedsheet had dirty marks on it, and underneath I discovered several long hairs. After I reported the issue, they promptly provided a new sheet, but the condition of the mattress itself left me uncomfortable. The rest of the room and bathroom were clean enough. The walls had zero soundproofing. (They gave me earplugs and a white noise machine…) Location was good, and the staff was nice, but I won't be going back there again.
• Verified traveler (2/5): worst "hotel" - I was unaware this wasn't a hotel with people behind a desk to help with check-in. I got there at 11 pm, tired and ready to go to sleep and I couldn't get inside the lobby until someone let me in. They were doing construction and there were plastic sheets hanging down the hallway. Long story short I finally got a code, went to my room and could not get inside. So at 11:55 pm I left, asked the cabb driver to take me to another hotel.
• Sean (2/5): - The room (deluxe) was so small I could practically lay down and touch wall to wall and I’m pretty average height (5’11).

• Kate (6/5): Bad maintenance and rude cleaning staff - Property overall is nice and location is very convenient. Interior is nice and they have lockers to keep your luggage which is very convenient. However, my stay was a nightmare: when I’ve entered the room, bathroom wasn’t clean, with dark hair all over, dirty towers folded and the shower brocken and dripping non-stop. When I’ve asked reception to call someone to fix it they said I had to step out of the room for that time, which I couldn’t as I had exactly 1 hour to rest and get ready for an important event. In one hour they said cleaners had left and they will fix it next day. Next day at 11 I was woken up with the request to leave my room because I was relocated to another room, which I wasn’t aware of. The cleaners were rude and when I agreed with customer service team that I’ll stay in my booked room they refused to clean my room or fix the shower, I had to be back and forth on the phone for 1 hour. As an escalation, reception deactivated my key and I had to stay in the hall for 30mins until service team activates my key. Horrible experience, I stayed in a room with a brocken shower, received no compensation for it ever. Only once customer service reached out to me and then never replied. Negative experience overall.

• Klaudia (10/5): - This hotel is located conveniently near Tribeca. Easy walking neighborhood. I used a passcode to enter hotel & room, very easy.
• Lucia (6/5): its ok but nothing much - the location is great the room smelled weird. after a while tou get used to it

• Maria (7/5): A good stay - Very close to metro and any additional ameneties such as shampoo and lotion are available in the lobby. Filtered water was also provided in the lobby. Property is very close to almost each subway/train line which makes all travel super easy. Fridge in room. Luggage storage units in lobby as well. Airconditioning was super noisy and bathroom didn't seem "clean", meaning shower leaked, shower tiles were always wet (which could cause a mold problem, but we didn't see any). Mattress was not super comfortable but ok.

• Curt (4/5): - I was notified mid day of my reservation that they could not provide me a room. So I was removed to another one of their properties. This separated me from the rest of my party. Also, the area around this room was exceptionally loud throughout the night.
• Douglas (7/5): The motto is Sonder, a better way to stay. I’ll give it different but not better. - Location. Price. Room was stuffy and no AC available. Staff brought a fan which helped. The Sonder bare necessities model (no restaurant or room service, no COFFEE in rooms or anywhere else, no staff on site after 9, etc) not something we would do again.

• Y3513OB_ (4/5): Not worth the money - The location is very convenient. The room rate is high, yet you charge extra for cleaning. I travel extensively around the world – over 50 countries – and this is the first time I've encountered something like this. But the most disappointing part was that, despite paying for cleaning, all they did was change the towels. When I asked why the bed linen wasn’t changed, they simply left a new set of bed linen by the door. The soundproofing is very poor; you can hear everything happening in the corridor. For two consecutive nights, other guests were arguing loudly in the hallway, making it impossible to sleep. There is no storage space in the room.

I booked the room for my elderly father and I planned as best as I could. I tried to view the room a week advance by going to the hotel. There was no one there then or at check in. The hotel and bookings refused us a refund. This is completely fraudulent and I would not stay here. I didn’t stay at this property, after going to check in and seeing the room. The rooms are not what the photos represent. The sq footage is much smaller. I booked the room for my elderly father and I planned as best as I could.
