Guest Reviews
- Pezhman (4/5): - There is no kitchen! There is a space, but it only has one refrigerator and one kettle. You should ask for a microwave.
The kitchen has no kind of stove.
Most importantly, it does not have a sink.
The property does not have parking. You should find an on street parking spot across the street which is not available all the time.
- John (2/5): Not suitable for families or business travel. - This property is not suitable for business travelers, single women or families. The front desk is unprofessional.
- Aziz (10/5): - Friendly Staff. enough services in room. Good value for money
- ALIREZA (10/5): - Everything was as expected.
- gev (10/5): Dana the dior of Abu Dhabi - Loved the location and the place is spacious as you would want it after a long day in sun
- Gev (10/5): Dana is service par excellence - Al Diar Dana is an excellent hotel in Abu Dhabi and is in Business vicinity. The food is prepared well by the chefs very well and the housekeeping staff is courtious and always ready to help.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overall good stay - The stay was good.
I had a good experience with staff, service, and comfort.
The only thing I didn’t like much was breakfast. There could have been a live counter for some fresh omelette as different people like their eggs in different ways.
The lunch and dinner buffet was okay as well. Some items were good some were okay. Little disappointed with the desserts as the taste was not upto the mark.
- UBEYD ENGIN (8/5): - It was OK except the problem I faced during check-in, which was solved shortly.
Wifi in the room does not work properly.
- Waleed (10/5): - Amazing , it is old but nice next to everything in City center of Abu Dhabi
- Param Nishtha Bhavesh (8/5): - The property is good but dated, AC works well but regulator placement is kind of odd, breakfast is good but with limited options.
- Jason (10/5): - The customer service at the front desk was brilliant. My room was always cleaned by the great staff.
- Mohamed (10/5): - All good
- Rafael (10/5): - Staff and breakfast are the best in Abu Dhabi no complaints at all
- Jose (2/5): - The person that checked me in was horrible. He was rude and unprofessional. The hotel is old and dingy. The carpet in the room was dirty and sticky and looked like something out of the 70’s. Definitely will never be staying at this place again.
- Rafael (10/5): - All great, staff and breakfast the best in town
- Fahad faki (10/5): - Was amazing
- Neil (10/5): Great location and staff - Great staff, good location.
- Timothy (2/5): - This property hasn't been updated, presumably, since it was built around 1980. The sinking feeling of regret came when seeing the condition of the lobby. Our room, booked elegantly through Orbitz, wasn't ready at check-in time, 2pm. Apologetic were the staff, but you could see they knew of systemic chaos behind the scenes. Nevertheless, the bed linen and bathroom towels were clean. A word to the wise: do not trust the polished images of this hotel viewed from booking destinations. Reality is surprisingly if not shockingly different.
- SAQIB (10/5): - AMAZING SERVICE BUT PLEASE INCULED BREAKFAST
- Mohamed (8/5): - All satisfactory
- Mohamed (10/5): - The room is wide and cozy.
The windows are not sound proof.
- Timothy (8/5): - A decent hotel for a very reasonable price. Everything was clean, the staff were helpful and the room was clean.
The Junior Suite my party booked were very large, much larger than we are used to in UK and Europe. The immediate locale had various places to eat and we were able to utilise the bar at Le Meridien hotel which had a shady outdoor seating area as opposed to the indoor bars at Al Diar Dana.
- Jeff (10/5): - Great staff, big rooms and good location
- Mubadda (8/5): Good stay - It was a good experience, the girls on the reception is more friendly than the guys
- Caina (8/5): - Good location
- Yesmien (8/5): - I think the prices do become overrated for an average establishment like Al Diar Dana Hotel. Parking is left to the client's discretion, and is not secure. I got a fine during my stay at the hotel. The place has a "seedy" appearance, almost throwing one off track as a first impression
- kevin (4/5): - The room was too cold and the A/C (Heater) wasn’t working. They wouldn’t change the room and gave us an electrical heater.
- Tomas (8/5): - Excellent price, welcoming people at the front desk. The room felt a bit dated but for the price it was good, and it was large and well-appointed (where else do you find a kitchen with dishwasher and laundry machine?).
- John (10/5): - Amazing helpful staff
Fantastic location
Super comfortable hotel with excellent services
- Joyce (8/5): - Conveniently located next to a healthcare clinic for Covid testing =) and medical attention and near shops and the mall. The room appears a bit dated, but has free flowing hot water from the showers, and adequate water pressure in the bathroom.
- Hussein Al (10/5): - Good location, nice staff,
- alawi (10/5): - The hotel is clean and the price is reasonable
- Caroline (8/5): For sure You won’t be disappointed - Nice stay, you can find all kind of restaurants and stores in the neighborhood. Sweet and lovely appartement .
- Verughese (10/5): Good but can improve - The stay was comfortable but the toiletries and towels was provided for only one person and requested for water but it never came.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Adequate - Fairly good and hotel nicely located easy access within the capital. Will be using it for business trips
- Talal (10/5): Fantastic - Wes awesome very friendly easy polite staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location restaurants and Abu Dhabi mall just a few minutes walk away. Hotel cleanliness and service good. Good value overall I recommend.
- Aminah Jamal (8/5): - All good except the Parking.
Hotel doesn’t have parking floor, and all area around is so complicated to find where to park your car.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will definitely stay again - Great rooms, close to all amenities. Will definitely stay again
- ramy (8/5): - Good hotel good pubs no pool good location
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The place has Dance Bars and it noisy till 3 in the morning. Apart from that you experience Vehicle noise as i was put in Room 201. Disliked the Room shape and lighting etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is located at heart of city with nice view from the lift. Hotel should have spa/gym.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very well located good restaurant and an excellent staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Only a few minutes walk to Abu Dhabi Mall, grocery stores and restaurants.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - The hotel is centrally located with Abu Dhabi mall within 2 mins of walking distance. The major problem is lot of construction on the road which has been going on for quite sometime and don't seem to end.
- Tayyab (8/5): It's good - It's good I like the stay in Dana thank
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel was situated in the downtown area. However there was no parking available for customers, this was a major problem. We were forced to pay to park at another hotel and take a taxi to this hotel. The hotel is a bit dated in its décor, the rooms need a bit of TLC, new carpets etc. The room appeared to be clean! The staff was welcoming and friendly.
- nenita (10/5): Nice location - Excellent, accessible to transport, foods around quiet place
- Wasim (10/5): Very happy - Amazing service. Clean.
- Gordy (8/5): handy hotel - ideal for everything
- Eddie (8/5): Hotel's plus and minuses. - The hotel's location, room size, in-room accessories and staff are just excellent. The turn off point: no concierge, not even a phone access to taxis. We almost missed our tour waiting for a taxi. Luckily, after about an hour+ of waiting, a private car dropped off some passengers near the hotel and we talked out to taking us to our excursion meeting point... for a good price, of course. Also, an extra 15 AED was charged from us by the hotel. I really thought everything was prepaid with Expedia.
I would recommend this to a friend, but with a bit of a warning about taxi accessibility.
- Steven (10/5): Outstanding value - I found the hotel to be of a higher standards than I expected, the rooms were very large and comfortable with all the services you would require.
Didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that.
- Giselle (8/5): You get what you pay for! - For the price it was good. We got what we paid for and the surrounding area was ok. We were denied entry into The Trap Pub because, in our opinion, we weren't showing enough skin. We had just came back from dinner at the Fridays and wanted a few drinks before going to bed, but your employee said we couldn't come in using the excuse that we needed our passports. Our New York Driver's License wasn't enough. The place didn't look too nice but since that was the only place that was serving alcohol we didn't mind. We were staying at the hotel! Which made it more ridiculous!
- Rita (10/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff, & close to attractions - Hilary was great... greeted us, made sure we had everything we needed.
- Alan (6/5): Al Diar Dana - An old hotel completing with new in the area. US$212/night is expensive for old room but that is Abu Dhabi pricing
- Traveler (4/5): Not recommended - Started when I arrived, asked the staff where to park my car, and I was told to go find somewhere. Also stating that it was clearly indicated on the reservation that no parking provided. I told them, fine, no objection, but since I'm out of town, can you help me find a parking?!
Still I didn't get any help. I had to go around the busy town, finding a parking.
The room was not very clean, smelly, and disappointing.
- Ky (8/5): convenient if you like clubbing - Two clubs in the hotel, 49'ers and The Trap. Both are well known hot spots in the area.
- Rifat (6/5): Good location, Old Bulging, - Good location, Old Bulging, near to Abu Dhabi Mall and so many restaurant near by
- Giji Varghese (8/5): Nice Hotel with a very good view - We had a perfect room and service from the Hotel, especially the Front Desk Staff assistance to detail. Great experience. Keep up the good work. All the Best.
- Shahzad (8/5): Good Experience - Hotel was very nice, room was spacious and clean. staff was very friendly. Only WiFi signals were very poor. I mentioned them as well and i was surprised that how could they be conducting the corporate meetings without good Wifi.
- Lorraine (8/5): convenient location - appreciated that we could get an early checkin when we arrived at 7am. Hotel very close to Abu Dhabi mall for shopping.
- james (8/5): nice place but no luxury. very well priced - great place for short stay. all you need but no thrills. great steaks in the penthouse pub
great value for money
- Verified traveler (8/5): Acceptable - It was ok, close to Abu Dhabi Mall and commercial offices. Hotel was a bit expensive for the standard. Used shaving blade in the amenities
- marianne (10/5): Cool and Relaxing Place to Stay - We stayed here for a few nights to unwind & relax between Europe and Australia.
Our room was very clean, and fun in a kind of 1980's Arabian palace style. it was spacious and had everything we needed, a big bed, very well equipped bathroom and a tv with over 100 channels.
We also had a kitchen area & a really good working fridge.
The Air Con was crazy cold no matter how we adjusted it, so although it was 45 degrees outside we had to switch it off to warm ourselves up every now and again.
There was a small problem with hot water, but the maintenance man fixed it immediately.
I was given codes for wifi, but it seemed I had to pay extra $20 for this, so I never tried it.
Unlike other reviewers, we cannot make exciting complaints or compliments about noise from the nightclub or the Ladies of the Night:
It was Ramadan, and a very quiet and respectful time for all, we were not disturbed.
We didn't discover the steak house, but I wish we had as most places outside were shut daytime due to religious observance.
We appreciate & thank the staff at the Dana, especially Mr.Hillary were so kind and helpful to us, allowing us a great rest & a very late checkout.
We would love to return to your lovely, friendly Dana Hotel in the future.
- SOMASUNDARAM (10/5): Good hotel, great staff and great location - The location is perfect for a holiday stop over, close to restaurants and facilities in down town Abu Dhabi. All the staff we met were most polite and helpful and made us very welcome. The rooms are well appointed and the hotel facilities excellent
- Verified traveler (6/5): Review from Australia - This was for a quick 3 night stay. The room was looked after and cleaned daily. Even though there is a club in the hotel you can not hear it from the room upstairs. 5min walk from the main mall and many other food shops. It was one room and the only down fall is that we where told there where 3 beds but only 2 so one of us had to sleep on the couch
- Muhammad (4/5): reception is bad - well everything was good just at reception they made us wait and said that we don't have any any booking after waiting long then we got
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nothing - Poor plumbing
- Tony (8/5): Check in very difficult - When I arrived at the hotel and presented my Expedia receipt they refused to accept it because they said they had not received the fax confirmation from Expedia. I was allowed to check in because they remembered be from before but they insisted that I keep try to contact Expedia to sort everything out.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad; descent is the word. - thw hotel was a dive but the rooms wete descent enough.
- Tim (8/5): Good value - I have stay in this hotel several time, the location is great and good value for money. The hotel has 2 stars, and it is surprising for me - the rooms a large, clean and nice designed, location in Tourist Area is great and staaff very kind and helpfull
- Business Traveler (4/5): Decent Location, Horrible Service & Accommodations - I live and work in the Emirates and have stayed at a number of hotels in the city. The Dana hotel was close to a friend's place so I booked it, but did so hesitantly. The troubles started right away with the hotel calling me around noon telling me that although I had booked and paid for two nights, they could not get me two beds as I had reserved. I was traveling with a friend so two beds were a must. I complained and they said they would fix it and hung up. Unfortunately, they called back 30 mins later and said that they couldn't fix it after all. It took a long discussion with the manager (who, by the way, refused to accept responsibility for the error and blamed it on Hotels.com) to finally get it resolved. Later, I paid for 24 hours of internet service in my room, but was charged an hourly rate which ended up being much more. When I asked how that happened, they blamed it on the login that they gave me! I work in tech so I understand hotel portals, but this was something out of the stone age. In the end, they wouldn't accept responsibility for that error either or even half the difference in the excess amount. I would definitely look elsewhere for a room particularly if you don't want women soliciting you in the halls and lobby.
- Faisal (8/5): In the City and a lot of restaurants and Nightlife - Great stay, big rooms. Everything is clean. Stayed here more than 6 times, I think I need discounts for next stay!
- Faisal (8/5): Inside the City and near shopping and restaurants - Love it. Have stayed more than 8 times here.. really spacious and also cheap.
- Mohamed Naseem (6/5): Good Location - good location, fare price , large rooms , no parking which is a big problem if you have a car .close to Abu Dhabi Mall, Not suitable for families because of sexy girls going up & down from night club
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok but no free internet - no free internet. Electrical outlets not located well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice large Junior suite. Good location. I will return to the hotel. Good value for money.
- Azahel (10/5): Clean, spacious rooms at great prices. - No complaints about my stay at this hotel. The staff was professional and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is also situated at a great location with many restaurants and shopping centers within walking distance. I will definetely book my room here on my next visit to Abu Dhabi.
- Zaid (6/5): Good - Good
- Faisal (8/5): good value and spacious - Spacious and near many Fast food outlets like Pizza Hut, KFC, Hardees and Ruby's Tuesday . Not a big ride to Airport. Check out time was 6 P.M. That was the good thing, internet was expensive.
- John (6/5): Dana Hotel Review January 2013 - The Hotel is ageing but well maintained. The rooms are cold in winter time, roadside is noisy, disco can be annoying, food is good and good value. Overall room is a good size very clean, well positioned, at 300RMB/night.
- John (8/5): Short Business Trip to Abu Dhabi - The staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly and I enjoy staying at the hotel just for that reason. The hotel is a short walk from the office where I go when in Abu Dhabi. It is also very close to Abu Dhabi Mall and the Co-operative Supermarket, so everything is within walking distance and there is no need to battle with the traffic to do basic shopping even in summer.
- Mark Matthews (10/5): - For a 2 star hotel this rated way above some 4 stars I have stayed at in United Arab Emirates. There is a couple of nice restaurants in the hotel as wellas a nice club witha great band.
- John (8/5): - A very good hotel, the service for breakfast was poor due to being busy. Internet charges are way over priced but the hotel is very good.
- Samuel (8/5): Good place, stay away from the high and low level - This was a very suprising stay for me. I have been to Abu Dhabi several times before and always stayed at the Mercure on the main part of town. This is closer to the beach and the Abu Dhabi Mall, so it turned out to be a good choice. It was very convenient - there was several restaurants (both Western and Local flavors), the Abu Dhabi Mall for shopping, and some local stores.
Becareful of the floor you get though. The hotel has a bar at the Penthouse closes at 3PM. It has another bar at the Mezzanine level that also goes to 3 AM. When I checked in at 10PM, the music was quite loud. I could hear it in the elevator on the 2nd level. I can only imagine what it would be like on the 1st floor. My room was on the 7th floor, so I was far enough away from both bars not to be bothered by the music. I would stay away from the higher and the lower levels just to avoid the music (the bars were open for the 5 days that I was there).
All in all, this was a very convenient hotel that may be a bit farther out of town but still close enough to get everything done. The room was very large and had a good view of the ocean/harbor and Sowwah island.
- malcolm (8/5): Entertaining - Excellent location in the Tourist Club area. Great steak restaurant on the penthouse with not only good food but other tangible assets. Restaurant turns into a club later in the night so you can be aroused by the entertainment venues. The view is also nice over the marina. The only drawback is the traffic noise from the street downstairs.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Lovely staff but rooms In need of some renovation - Convenient location for my purposes but rather noisy from outside traffic. Very friendly and helpful staff made it a pleasant stay. Wardrobes rather old and a little bit musty. Shower leaked from edge of bath to floor the floor and impossible to direct shower head sufficiently to stop that happening. Comfortable bed and spacious room with small kitchenette. I would swop the sitting area and the bed positions to make it even more like a suite.
