- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location, 20 min walk to the Kremlin, lots of places to eat and shop within walking distace away. Room was below avarage, even though we paid for superior room with the view, we were given the standard room, at least it is listed as standard on the expedia page. Reception stuff refused to pick up the phone when expedia agent tried to contact them to resolve the issue. Clean sheets, and comfy bed, however the floor in the apartment looked old, sticky and nasty. Some things in the apartment were broken or with visible damage. Breakfast was included, food is ok, nothing fancy, hot coffee and tea during the breakfast at no extra cost. Overall, its an okay place. Be aware what you are ordering on expedia and what you might actually get are two different worlds.
- Jackson (8/5): - Location is great! Breakfast is excellent! Rooms are small, bathroom is very small. You get new towels every day, but you have to ask to refill shampoo. Floor covered with old carpets and never been cleaned under 8 days stay. Staff are very friendly.
- Alana (6/5): Moscow - Service could be improved... they were helpful but didn’t seem to happy about it ... few issues locating my passport at reception so I’d just kept it in your room. Easy walk to arbat st and 20 ish mins to kremlin . Breakfast great.

The following day,we checked in on our tour and had the bar fridge filled and water included which was not there the previous night.We also asked directions to the nearest supermarket and were instructed to go in the opposite direction to where the supermarket was. While I appreciate that English is a second language, it was very disappointing to be given misleading directions.

The breakfast was good. They would call a cab for us when needed and held our luggage after check out - til we were ready for departure later that afternoon.

- constantin (6/5): Just OK - The hotel is clean and neat, but not special in any way. The service, the breakfast, the comfort of the room were just barely OK. The rooms was tiny even though was listed as "deluxe", the a/c -- loud and with bright LED lights, the shower had only warm water etc. The location is very beautiful and central but far from any Metro line. I am not likely to stay there again.

- Samer (4/5): - I think this was my worst hotel experience ever! The rooms were small, which i am ok with, however the bsthroom was an entirely different story! The bathroom has no ventilation and the fan was not working. I tries to take a shower and the shower head was broken! I spent 2 hours trying to explain to the receptionist what the problem is, he would not listen. In the end They sent the maintenace guy who could not fix the problem. I spent 2 horrible nights there. Horrible hotel!! Stay away!

- George (8/5): It isnt as bad as they say - The service is good and the facilities are alright. The staff are friendly and accomodating. Remember if you are paying for a cheapr 4 star hotel it might be a 3.5 which this is. We had no shower curtains, the wifi didnt work all the time and the AC needs servicing. The breakfast is basic & edible Otherwise, its in a great location especially if you are a Ghananian😉.

- Tatyana (8/5): Nice location - Cute hotel with the nice cafe downstairs. Free breakfast was not bad. Only thing I didn't like - thin walls. You can hear absolutely everything and everyone from another rooms. They should do a better installation.
- Patrick (8/5): Soviet-style nostalgia - This is a good place for Soviet-style nostalgia. Room was small. Lights were dim. It did the job, but the comfort level was average at best. The restaurant, by contrast, is quite modern and breakfast was very good.
- Chad (10/5): Moscow Wowed - We found this hotel to be a great place to stay. Being from the States and going over to Russia and not knowing what to really expect when we got there I am happy to say we made a good choice in this hotel. They were very welcoming and able to answer all of our questions. The breakfast was more than filling and was a great way to start our days of exploring and seeing the sites of Moscow. They are located a quick 15-20 min walk from the Red Square if you want to walk or 10 min to the closest Metro. I would also like to say that if you ask about their new kittens they are willing to let you see and hold them to get that kitten fix as well. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and would stay there again if I find myself back in Moscow again.
- Gillian (10/5): Clean affordable apartment close to downtown - We stayed in one of the apartments not at the main hotel, and it was a perfect space for the two of us in a quiet neighbour hood but close to many sights. Doorman was very helpful but didn't speak much English. We didn't know it would be two flights up, luckily he carried our bags up for us! A couple small improvements like more light in the bathroom and to fix a dripping tap needed. Breakfast at the hotel cafe wasn't included but was delicious and cheap - totally worth it!

- Denise (6/5): Not a happy experience - We did not pick up from our confirmation that we were in an apartment and not in the hotel proper. We had 3 people so they gave us an apartment. It was a 10 minute walk from the hotel, once we figured out how to get there. They did give us a ride over with our bags. There was no phone to contact the hotel so we had to go over there if we had a question. Not convenient. The guy taking care of the apartments was not around after we checked in. The apartment was OK. Third floor and no stairs was a bit difficult with our bags. Lots of electrical outlets and good wifi connections. After our first night we felt better. The office staff was not happy to be working with Americans. Not very helpful and limited English with half of the desk clerks. The breakfast buffet was a great selection and tasty. Would not go there again, even with two for a room in the actual hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Misrepresentation - Purchased king size hotel room with breakfast included, received apartment with no breakfast and off site. No one rectified the situation. Mistake blamed on Expedia. Made no difference to me, as I still didn't get what I booked.
- SURESH CHAND (6/5): Well located and Courteous staff. - The room which was first offered to us was on second floor without access to elevator, so it was difficult to carry and bring back your luggage, as well as to climb up and down the stairs for many times during the total stay. On request to change, finally we were offered room number 402, which was too small in width for a standard double room which we had booked and whose area on their website they show to be 24 sq meter. There was hardly any space to move.
- Pat (2/5): Hotel close to Red Square/Kremlin - We were able to leave our bags at the very attractive hotel in the morning but when we checked in later in the day, we were taken to a location 3 blocks away and had to move all our own luggage. Now we were in an extremely basic room on the first floor with no night security. After vehemently complaining to the front desk and asking for the manager several times to no avail we were told we could move to a different location the following day. This did happen and they did pay for the taxi to move our luggage to the new location. Still not the "hotel" but a much nicer and more secure place. Maid service is every other day except to remove garbage.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - The apartment room was quite far away from the main hotel lobby, which is where the counter for check in & check out is. We then had to walk and drag the luggage to the apartment building ourselves, which took about 15 minutes. The apartment building also doesn't have the storage room for luggage after checking out. The apartment staff was quiet rude, spoke no English, and offered no help with the luggage (our room was on the third floor and there was no stairway). The so called "free wifi" didn't work at all during our 4 nights there.

- Julian (8/5): Convenient for the city centre. - Stayed in Moscow for 3 nights and I found Arbat House was a good choice for the price and was located in a convenient location around 5 mins walk to the nearest metro station although its possible to walk to the Kremlin in around 25 mins.

- James (8/5): Value for money - Breakfast and staff excellent, but the room was a little tired and could do with upgrading. Overall location was very good and the hotel represented good value for money.
- Mark (6/5): Once found... value for money with great service - Not an easy hotel to find. Only a five minute walk from Ul Arbat street filled with its souvenir shops and cafes, but it is tucked away on a little side street and there are no signs pointing you in the right direction. If you're not taking a taxi then you'll need a local map to find it. Excellent service by all the (multi-lingual) staff and a lovely little cafe attached serving a good breakfast buffet. Rooms and stairwell are a little dated and could do with a little modernising.

- j (8/5): Gets the job done - Bed was very old and lumpy. Only downside of the room. TV and AC in room. Hot water always available in shower. Staff were attentive, friendly and understood English (huge plus). Very close to the tourist area Arbat street and metro station (5 minute walk). Convenience store also nearby.

- MHSF (6/5): Comfortable, quiet, remodeled Soviet hotel - The best part of this hotel: the quiet neighborhood, but 10 minute walk to the Arbat metro. The rooms are reasonably spacious, the wi-fi works at good speed. Shower-bath has modern fixtures. Closet is minuscule. Restaurant unusually good, with very good breakfasts. Beware of front desk: we ordered a cab for departure, confirmed that order 3 times, yet they did not make the order!
- John Smith (8/5): Appropriately Priced - I was attending meetings at the Metropol Hotel next to Red Square but had a hotel budget of under $200 per night. Arbat was about a 20 minute walk away. Breakfast was very good and internet was free and fast. Room was simple and a little old. Bathroom was clean. When leaving you give your key to the front desk. Thus, I was reluctant to leave valuables in the room. If in this budget range I would stay here again. Measuring against other hotels in the vicinity its priced correctly.
- Tom (8/5): Good Location, Average 3 star hotel - Average three star European hotel. Clean. Good location, (across the street from a small African countries embassy) with an easy walk to the Kremlin.
- alexander (8/5): Nice small hotel in the center of Moscow - Nice, clean hotel with friendly personnel. Reasonable restaurant attached to the hotel, although breakfasts are very minimalistic. Great location, 5 min from a metro station.
- Iggy (8/5): Ideal quiet central Moscow location - First stay there. The hotel is still under renovation, but overall is in great shape already. No construction noises. Overall very quiet. Walking distance to a # of places in very Central Moscow.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location - The hotel is under reconstruction, so it is noisy and rooms smell. However, staff is nice and do their best to help. The location is great and no need to use tubes to visit the most exciting places.
- Emma (10/5): We had an enjoyable stay! - A very nice hotel in great location, walk distance to all the attractions and metro. The hotel is under renovation but kept clean and as quiet as possible. Ask for a rear view room because the facade is renovated and all the windows are shut. The service was good and any request handled quickly.
- Meryl (8/5): Changed rooms, went downhill - We stayed here five nights, had a nice room and were satisfied. Went on an overnight trip to Suzdal, so added one more night after this excursion. Even though we were paying $110 more for this extra night, we were shifted to a tiny room on a higher floor with smoking rooms nearby. The elevator wasn't working. We felt we were treated shabbily, considering the length of our stay.
- Ron (4/5): OK but disappointing - Walkable to Red Square. I guess I didn't realize how expensive Moscow is. In the US this hotel would be much cheaper. Small room, poor breakfast options that were exactly the same everyday of our stay. For dinner the resturant was actually quite good but expensive.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Give it a few years - Since the hotel has changed names, it's hard to find on line and on maps, and cab drivers don't know where it is. It's tucked away off the beaten path, so it's difficult to find if you don't know what you're looking for. I was not entirely comfortable in the neighborhood, though it wasn't a bad one. There are no other hotels around this particular area. It's a bit of a hike to the nearest metro station; the nearest station is basically at the Kremlin. Also, the hotel is under construction at the time of this writing.

- zvi (8/5): nice hotel close to the main attractions. - The reception staff is nice and willing to help. The waiters at the restaurant are still in the communist era. They don't smile and see you as nuisance. Except this the hotel is excellent.
- jc_bromley (4/5): Hotel currently under renovation - That doesn't get mentioned anywhere before you book, so you'll be booking a room in a building site.There website offers "complimentary guest parking" but they don't really have any, I was on a motorcycle and it was a lot of hassle getting it parked, they use the disabled bays outside on the street. Because I'm travelling on a motorcycle I have limited clothing, I put it all into to the hotel laundry with the promise I would have it back early the next morning. It turned up at lunchtime...so i wasted a morning of my two day visit. Not impressed at all. Next time I visit Moscow this hotel won't even be on my list of places to stay.

- Alex (8/5): Excellent location, can't beat the price - Very convenient location, free WiFi and breakfast which is not bad at all. Very good restaurant with excellent kitchen and affordable prices (3 course meal for $10). Personal is alert, polite and responsive. The only drawback is the current (August 2013) renovation, which doesn't matter much is you are not looking out of the window and don't mind smelling the paint now and then. But having said that it's a deal for the money. (I suspect it will, as it should, much pricier once renovations are over.)
- R & N (8/5): Minnesota USA - We stayed here for 5 nights in July 2013. Hotel entrance very nice. Staff was usually/tried to be helpful. Room was nice/large compared to traditional European rooms. We were on older side of building, so no elevator access. But was probably on quieter side of building. Front exterior was under remodeling. Breakfast was ok, but same thing everyday. So boring after the 2nd day. They need more choices, or different set menu every day or two. Location was ok. 20 min walk to the Kremlin. 10 min walk to metro to access other areas of Moscow. Price was very good relative to hotels by Kremlin which were double the price. I would recommend this hotel again. But if found a hotel closer to center area within 20-30 USD higher, then might consider opting for the closer hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet yet close to all amenities - Very nice and comfortable hotel, the only downside being that they are undergoing renovations at present. This did not impact on my experience here, and I would definitely stay again.
- Poodle (8/5): Nice Hotel - close to everything & can sleep well - Very good location and quiet. Close to everything. Bed is firm and comfortable. Air Conditioner was working very well. Staff are very helpful. Same breakfast everyday which was a little boring but covers the basic. 20-25 min walk to Kremlin. Made us comfortable to stay and we could enjoy our vacation. Even in July, the towel hanger was heated which makes the room hot if you leave the door open. But if you wash some clothes, it dries fast.
- Adam (6/5): Centrally located in the Heart of Moscow. - Overall is not a bad hotel. The mattress was really stiff . If you're from the U.S. than you're use to large size rooms but expect the opposite and that goes for most of Europe. One major problem I had was that no one informed me to the remodeling that was going on while I was there. They were using jackhammers from 8:00am to 6:00pm and I was unable to sleep during the day. I had to really fight for over 30 minutes to have them change my room. Other than that the continental breakfast was fairly nice but it was the same food everyday. Just a heads up. If you can get a room on the 1st floor as they've been renovated and have much comfortable mattresses.
- Verified traveler (4/5): As requested - We were with Intrepid and had 1 night under their plan. We had booked further days and had to book out with Intrepid, book back in and change rooms. The room booked by ourselves was not as good as the first one with workers and scaffolding outside the window with quite a bit of noise continuously. there was only only 1 bedside table and the room was tiny. Breakfast supplies were often depleted in the dining room and staff were so attentive to the "clean-up' as no doubt they had been told to do, that the experience with their constant attention was not conducive to a pleasant experience.

- Mike and Kate (6/5): mike and kate - Stayed here 7 nights Mon to Mon, but paid for previous Sunday night as flight was due to arrive at 5.00am Mon morning and needed early access to the room than normal check in time.Specifically booked a double bed but was told only twins were available which when requested they moved together.Bathroom very small but spotlessly clean. We are small in stature but it could only take 1 at a time, larger people would have struggled. Bedroom also small but adequate as we were out all day every day on an art history study trip with a London college . Choice of television channels not in English. Hot and cold breakfast buffet was included in price, served till 11.00am and was adequate.Restaurant run by an affiliate company had a restricted alcohol licence only serving beer not wine which you could supply yourself and pay a hefty 500 roubles corkage fee per bottle .So could not enjoy a glass of wine with evening meal.Metro 15 min safe walk or walk to Kremlin in 25 mins.Staff very pleasant, helpful with directions and some spoke good English.Overall we were satisfied with price, value , location.
- Alex (8/5): Surprisingly quiet for such a central location - This hotel is a 15 min walk from Red Square and other major tourist sights. In just 10 minutes you can be on the metro to go anywhere. Fortunately the hotel is tucked away on a side street that seems to be mostly occupied by embassy buildings so it is very quiet and feels pretty secure. The front desk always had at least one person who speaks perfect English and they were extremely helpful. We had a minor upset in our plans because of a missed train but the man working the desk that night kindly sorted everything out for us with a few phone calls. The rooms aren't too special; pleasantly average by European city standards. The breakfast was fantastic for a western buffet, with plenty of eggs, bacon, fruits and veggies.
- HCM (6/5): Value for money - For Moscow this hotel was reasonable value for money and location is good. It is in need of decor upgrade and replacement of beds which I found to be quite lumpy. Building work nearby was noisy at night.
