Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value - Nice hotel but some work was going in other rooms being refurbished and lots of noise on the Saturday. Not ideal for relaxing weekend and spa . The room furniture and decorations not to our taste as felt like the interior was decorated by 2/3 different people and they didn’t check or coordinate it !
- NRS NJ (8/5): - It was ok
- Verified traveler (10/5): overall very nice - the hotel is very accommodating and friendly personell
- Jon (10/5): Great spa Hotel in central Moscow - Suoer friendlybstaff did a fantastic job atveach and every step from Check-in to dtaff interaction, having soft pillows when asked, so friendly everyone. Room service was great. But BEST of all was the Spa Services and Attention. Highly recommend the Osteopath Massage from Arcen. He is a magician! Subtle bodywork that had lasting effect for days! We will be back! Thanks Ma Maison for greatvstay.
- Matthew (8/5): - Great stay; lovely room; internet a bit slow though.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great modern hotel. Beautiful rooms. The staff speaks English and goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The location was perfect. Overall - excellent value and service.
- Alexander (10/5): Great - Perfect
- Verified traveler (8/5): Definitely not a 5 star facility - Awful smell in the bathroom
- bishanbhojwani (8/5): Stay at mamaison hotel - Amazing suite room very spacious and great service. It was 10 minutes walk to the red square. The street had lots of restaurants and coffeeshops as well. Highly recommend this hotel.. the price was also good
- TatyanaPatr (10/5): Great place! - It is a really wonderful place, the staff was extremely helpful but not annoying, diverse and delicious cuisine, wide selection of wines, location is also really good for walking in the city center, highly recommend
- SB01 (8/5): Very Good - Modern, clean, well appointed hotel in Central Moscow. Straight 30 minute walk to Red Square and much shorter walk to some very good restaurants and bars. Traffic in the centre of the city is diabolical, so learn how to use the metro!
My room was very nice, with a lounge, kitchen and nice bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable. Considering it is a large hotel, it is very quiet. As others have said, breakfast is pretty good. The waitresses were very nice and helpful.
One minor and obvious criticism is that it is pretty costly for a room, and in my case to my surprise I even had to pay for breakfast.
Overall, Moscow is a nice place to visit. The centre has been cleaned up and there is much to see. The quality of food and drink in many of the restaurants is excellent.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Zentrale Lage . Nahe Innenstadt. Sehr laut von Nachbarzimmern. Zwischentüren ohne Dämmung zum Nachbarn . Nicht sauber . Überteuerte Speisen und Getränke
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wifi speed needs improvement - It was good overall, but wifi was too slow and it was hard to conduct the Internet work. It should be improved.
- 475vladimirm (4/5): Standard 4-star apart-hotel. - The hotel is located on Pokrovka Street, next to the Garden Ring of Moscow.
"Bright modern design" ends in the Main Hall and the Halls near the elevators on the floors. I did not see a “luxury designer suite” in my One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite. Rather, an ordinary Moscow apartment with a small European renovation. Even bathtub just 1.34 (just for sitting). A/C system, just for fun, because all temperature anyways changes from Reception. At the check-in at the reception, I was faced with the complete lack of professionalism of the staff. I saw the same unprofessionalism in the work of housekeeping staff. Breakfast is more than modest. In general, a standard 4-star apart hotel. I did not see anything that would make me think of a 5-star hotel.
- WalterGoed (10/5): Citytrip Moskou - Very good hotel : a nice, quiet location close to the metro, a delicious breakfast, very friendly staff. A large room with everything you need. When you are tired, you can relax at the pool or in the spa. On arrival home I found out I had forgotten 2 pairs of glasses. The front office manager of the hotel, Mr. Kletanin, has sent them to Belgium. A perfect service!!!
- emma_closeup (6/5): Slightly disappointed - We booked a two bed suite as we thought there would be four of us in our party, but actually only two of us travelled. The rooms and lounge areas were quite spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the spa was disappointing - the pool was cold and only 1 out of 6 massage/jets were working. We booked primarily so we could use the spa facilities. Location wise it’s about 30 minutes walk to Red Square, and 10 minutes walk to nearest metro. There’s a supermarket on the way to the metro so if you want to cater for yourself you could. Our kitchen facilities were pretty good. Overall it was ok, but expensive for what we had.
- keamfamily (10/5): Moscow Into Hotel - lovely well situated hotel with good amenities. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast . Iti was pretty international standard. Trip to Kremlil needs to be done, We also dd trip to St Petersberg. They say that my response needs to be 200 charachters longf=g so XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
- Leonid (10/5): Perfect for enjoying central Moscow - I stayed for two weeks at this property. The location is perfect for enjoying central Moscow, minutes' walk from Tsvetnoy Bulvar and the beautiful Chistiye Prudy. I'm a fan of the design choices of this hotel, the ample space of the suites, and how well the hotel is managed -- everything is done tastefully and understated. The spa has the perfect ambiance and the gym is small but versatile. Drawbacks include having a door into the adjacent suite (unless booking a 1-bedroom unit), distance from the metro (but car access is good, and trams/buses are nearby), and the variable air quality in central Moscow.
- 24fh (10/5): Excellent accommodation for a stay in Moscow - Excellent accommodation, friendly service, spacious and clean room, many restaurants around and in walking distance to the Red Square and Kremlin. The Mamaison All Suites Spa Hotel Pokrovka is the perfect hotel for a stay in Moscow.
- N4918RIdrewd (10/5): Perfect accommodation for our stay in Moscow - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean, stylish and comfortable, the included breakfast was excellent and we were very pleased with the location of the hotel. We felt that this hotel was a very good value. Absolutely no complaints.
- expatsal (8/5): Excellent value for money, friendly staff and a nice stroll to Red Square - We booked a two bedroom suite and were upgraded to a Presidential suite which was perfect, lots of space and most importantly a very comfie bed. The reception staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was of a high standard and again the restaurant staff were really good. The cottage cheese pancakes well worth a try with raspberry jam. A good find.
- planetalidi (10/5): Amazing accomodation - Superb hotel spot with convenient walking distance to Red Square. Friendly, professional and polite staff. Comfortable and purely clean rooms, spa/wellness service was much appreacited after all day city walk. Bar and restaurant was just blast! Thank you for such a great and relaxing experience in the heart of Moscow.
- CharlesM70 (10/5): Lovely Room, Good Service - The hotel is a 40 minuite walk from Red Square, in a straight line. We recieved a very friendly and welcoming review. Ours was a junior suite and we were impressed with the size of it and the facilities
The only downaide was we had the shower as hot as it would go, we would have liked it a degree or too hotter
We will stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel. Value for money, perhaps the best in Moscow
- marklang9 (10/5): This hotel has great a great front office team - We stayed in this hotel for four nights. On day one there was a minor no fault issue. The front office team were very helpful, prompt and proactive in successfully addressing the issue. All in all, a very impressive team and a very well located, comfortable and low stress hotel. I lived in Moscow for several years so I have local knowledge.
- Roman8635 (8/5): Nice rooms - The rooms are very nice and well equiped with all you need. The breakfast is okay but could be better. The hotel is very quite located. The only disadvantage is the thickness of the walls. You can hear everything what is going on!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable stay, we enjoyed the steam rooms and the pool area. Lots of nice touches (drinking water in the poolside lounge - not at all a common courtesy in Russia, wine glasses in the room, local eco brand shampoo/conditioner). Service was polite and helpful.
- anilt413 (10/5): Good hotel and staff - Clean and modern rooms. Good location - 5 minutes walk to restaurants, bars, cafes. 3 minutes walk to garden ring. But to reach metro station, you have to walk 10-15 minutes. Supermarket is opposite.Staff was friendly and willing to help.
- tousja (8/5): on the way - Just booked this hotel because it is the best one close to the Kurskij railway station. We had an early departure.
The hotel fixed our voucher to get a Russian visa very professionally. Good communication and very polite staff.
The room was clean and big enough but it was very hot.
- NATSU (10/5): Good location and comfortable room - Location of the hotel is very convenient, walk no more than 1 minute there is a good Japanese restaurant, in front of the hotel there is a supermarket, also you can find Russian restaurants by just walking a few minutes. Room is also good, with it’s special interior design, clean, capacious and comfortable.
- Jone (10/5): -
- Tommas (8/5): Nice district in Moscow - The hotel is very nice, friendly and helpful staff, super spa, and decent fitness room. The only real drawback is proximity to nearest metro station (about 15 minute walk). So, plan on a taxi when arriving and leaving with luggage.
- Matt (8/5): Not bad hotel but not luxurious - Not bad hotel - many restaurants around it; subway about 10-15 min walk away; Facilities are all very modern and clean, just not luxurious; staff are quite nice and knowledgeable (speak English too)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Simply a great place to stay when being in Moscow!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Uncomfortable yet good location - The hotel is nice and the area is great. For a five star hotel, they gave me a room that had a gold out bed - the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on and the air conditioning although requested to be fixed three times never worked.
I would recommend looking elsewhere first
- simi (10/5): - We loved the hotell, the location and the helpful staff.
The staff was amazing and helped us with so much. Like getting a taxi , giving us directions and help finding pages in internet and booking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel within walking distance to the Red Square - Nice, clean, very price competitive and conveniently located hotel. Rooms are a bit "cold" in decor and lack "personalty" if you are big on that. Nicebreakfast spread and a full spa within the hotel. Given this comment hotel is no 5 star hotel, given bland room interiors and furnishings Othervise it is clean and a definite recommendation if you want to be within 1.5 mile walking distance to the Red Square.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect hotel, amazing service - We enjoyed Moscow and the hotel a great deal
- alshaima (6/5): - The reception is not as expected in terms of being helpful or courtesy
- Alexander (8/5): Average - Average
- James (10/5): Fantastic stay - We stay in this hotel for eight nights to explore Moscow leisurely. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from metro station. You can walk to Kremlin in 30 minutes. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are supermarkets, varied restaurants and café around the area. We tried many places and they all provide good food. Muscovites are friendly despite we can't speak any Russian. We used metro to get around to all the places we want to see and we had a fantastic time there. At the end of each day, we come back and relax in this lovely hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room keys did not work.
Whole floor smelled of cigarette smoke.
Many strange people staying at this hotel.
- Neil (6/5): Good but consider others - Good location with easy access to shops and transport (Metro is a bit of a walk). The suites are a generous size with our room having a separate bedroom, bathrom, kitchen and lounge / dining area. The kitchen wasn't all that well appointed.
Areas for improvement include - we didn't gel wit the retro style, the rooms could do with a minor refurbishment, staff were helpful but need to work on becoming more professional, the laundry fee was outrageous.
- Mateusz (10/5): Great rooms and friendly staff - Very nice hotel with big and comfortable rooms. Felt like a home away from home. Staff was very friendly. Not sure about the food, was only there for 1 night and didnt have time for breakfast. Quite central location.
- Garrett (10/5): Excellent hotel with Awesome Spa & Sauna. - Great hotel. Location is very good. Our favorite was the Spa/Sauna... It is awesome. The breakfast is very good and we suggest that it added as a package if you can. Will definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit to Moscow!
- raj (10/5): Nice hitel - Very good hotel in central Moscow and very good service
- Michael (10/5): Highly Recommended - Faultless, everyone I encountered was extremely helpful and courteous, I will be staying there again as I didn't get chance to experience the Spa. Food excellent too!!
- Margarita (10/5): A very good experience - All I can say about Mamaisson is that it is an excellent place to stay. Since check in employees were nice and helpful, rooms are bog enough, clean and confortable. There was a very usefull kitchenette. I highly recomend it.
- Chris K. (10/5): A great hotel! - I loved this hotel, I had a 1 bedroom suite and it was so nice... luxurious, spacious. It felt like I was in a home rather than a hotel. The only issue I have is as a tourist I wish I was a little more central. It wasn't a bad walk, only 20 minutes or so, to get to Red Square. But there is not subway stop close by so my only option was walking or taxi. But considering how nice the hotel is, I was still quite happy overall.
- Andreas (10/5): GREAT SUITE TYPE ROOMS - The rooms were very large and well equipped. The location was great and close to downtown Moscow. Clear rooms, hotel Spa was very nice and staff was eager to help but of course their English was not always enough.Overall a very good experience
- Chris (10/5): Great place for a quieter stay in Moscow - This is definitely a 5 star hotel, excellent service and great facilities. It's set back from the street a little with a small park in front so it's especially quiet. It's walking distance... But a long walk... to red square. And the metro stop isn't any closer really than red square. The neighborhood is definitely more if a locals area, which can be good or bad depending on what you like.
- Robert (10/5): - Was batter than I expected. Great room, friendly staff! Even gave me an upgrade for free!
- Jerry (8/5): Nice boutique like hotel - Hotel staff seemed to be confused about unusual requests and extra services but overall try to be friendly. The room was wonderful. The spa in the hotel was great. Suite size was good. A 24 hr market across the street. Very good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Strange attitude at breakfast - I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The value for money is pretty good, and the rooms are like apartments, so there is room to move around. Great if you are staying for more than a day or two as it feels a bit more home-like than a normal hotel room. The front desk service is fine, but I still cannot figure out how to call the front desk or anyone else from the room. Also, the young lady that works in the restaurant at breakfast is a bit rude most of the time and acts really strange. The breakfast itself could be better as well.
- Jared (10/5): Nice apartment style room in good location - I enjoyed the one-bedroom suite at Mamasion. It was laid out in 4 rooms, all modern and comfortable. The location seemed pretty central and there were plenty of things within walking distance (shops, market, banks, restaurants). The staff was very accommodating and allowed me to keep my bags in the valet for several hours after I checked out, while I walked around time before my train departure time. I didn't get to use the spa services but I plan to next time. If the price is ok for you, then I surely recommend this hotel.
- Valentin (8/5): quard your small personal items - Great but because of the mishap it screwed it up for a day or so .
- Greg (8/5): Business trip - Very good, nice and helpful staff, nice Spa but small, the cafe in the spa is not serviced well and was not clear when it is open. The bar though is nice and has good service, with limited menu.
- michael (10/5): Delightful welcome, staff very helpful. - We were made to feel very welcome. The suite was just like having your own flat in the city.
The food was good with plenty of choice. The breakfasts were exceptionally good.
The hotel was spotlessly clean.
- Ben (10/5): Excellent City Accommodation . Ideal for business. - Very comfortable rooms with kitchen facilities included. Free provision of bottled water and WiFi. Pleasant and efficient service.
- Adam (10/5): Hotel in the centre of Moscow - Bright modern hotel, with large modern rooms and a sitting area. The restaurant is good but not amazing, but also not over priced. Room service was efficient and the staff were always helpful. The spa looked ok, although the gym itself was tiny. This was my seond time there. I would definitely go back.
- Yvonne (10/5): Very nice hotel to stay - The hotel is located at a lovely street full of cafes, restaurants and bars. 15 minutes walk to Kremlin, very convenient location. I really like the hotel room facilities, just like the hotel name, makes me feel at home. It's more than a normal hotel room, it has almost everything you want, conformtable bed room, kictchen with all necessary cooking utensils, spacious living room with TV, sofa and dining table. I would highly recommend to stay at this hotel, it's well worth the value.
- Milly (10/5): Best accomodation in Moscow - This was our second time at tha Mamaison Pokrovka and we still love our "apartment" theqre. We were flattered that the always cordial staff remembered our family from two years ago! The Mamaison Pokrovka is in a great hip location, and we love the sylish modeqrn design of the lobbies, restaurant and rooms. We have already recommended it, and hope to go back soon.
- Scott (10/5): Great all rounder! - I promised myself that I would write the review that I was looking for when I was trying to sort through the endless options in Moscow.
Stayed with my wife and 7 month old and loved every minute. Clean, quiet, safe and even luxurious. About 15 minute walk to tourist sights (with pram in tow) down a main street that was full of local restaurants and shops and always felt safe.
If you are looking for worry free stay - this is it.
- Pat (10/5): Mamaison, Pokrovka, Moscow - We really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely apartment and wonderful staff. Great location just outside the tourist area in a faded glory area but easy access to everything. Lovely park just around the corner with a very good restaurant by the lake. Well stocked superette just over the road. Only issue we had was working out how to use the air conditioning.
- Chris (8/5): Great base for a trip to Moscow - Very spacious hotel and rooms and very accommodating staff, great welcome and an enjoyable base for our trip to Moscow. They were very happy to arrange taxis and suggest tips - including that it was only a 20min walk to Red Square (which was a good walk as well as Ulitsa Pokrovka has some good coffee bars (Lavazza) and Russian cake shops en route to the centre) and that there is a 24hr supermarket over the road.
Good restaurant and bar and overall well located to get into Moscow and also fr travel - Paveletskiy station for the Aeroexpress by taxi takes 7-10mins.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just perfect!
- Eugene (10/5): Excellent Boutique Hotel - Great hotel in a pretty central location, well decorated and with outstanding staff with a good command of English and a real service orientation. Traffic around the hotel can be 'challenging' we took 90 minutes to cover a 10 minute (or less) walk on the way from the airport. I wish the driver had let us know as we would have walked. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel in an interesting neighborhood. - The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Which is not always the case in Moscow. The meals, the spa, the laundry, the hotel taxi, is all very very expensive, which is typical in Moscow. But there are very nice and more affordable restaurants, massages, and taxi's nearby which are a fraction of the cost.
Walking distance to Red Square, Shopping Malls, and Metro.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel for everybody - Just stayed there with two other guy friends and had a great experience there. The staff were very friendly to help out with anything and everything asked and always with a smile. We stayed there for three nights and by the end of the trip we felt like we were family. Great location allowed us to walk to many places or a quick taxi trip. We each enjoyed a day at the spa- this I would give them a lower score on then SUPERB but still overall good experience. They are doing construction downstairs so it wasnt the total experience. I would stay here again when I go back.
- RunnerMom (10/5): Moscow gem - Our experience with this hotel could not have been better. The location was convenient, the staff was friendly, helpful, everyone in contact with guests spoke both Russian and English. The rooms were great. I loved the expresso maker, comfortable sofa, comfortable beds, pillows, even great spa products in the bath. Wonderful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A great place to stay in Moscow - A terrific hotel. The decor is great and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are a little noisy. The food is delicious!
- Verified traveler (10/5): ecellent stay - excellent experience, aqua zone with hamam and pool is great. The only problem is a location-between two subway stations
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Hotel. - Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff. Will definately come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Its well worth its 5 stars and the personnel was helpful and friendly. We didn't have a chance to check the saunas and restaurant but all the rest was good.
- Marilyn (8/5): Excellent Moscow Hotel - Every minute that we stayed at the Mamaison Spa Hotel Pokrovka was enjoyable. The rooms are beautifully designed and have every convenience. Water, essential in Moscow, is provided, as is great internet service. The reception staff people speak excellent English and are truly helpful. I enjoyed a swim in the pool, which is set at exactly the right temperature. Very nice restaurant with friendly service. The buses that travel Pokrovka Street make it easy to get to the Kremlin, the Bolshoi, and the other sights.
- Matt (8/5): Hotel Mamaison - This was a very nice hotel with great amenities, spa, and restaurant. The staff was great, and they speak English which is a huge plus in Moscow.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice hotel, nice service. Very expensive food etc. Far away from everything.
- David (10/5): MaMaison Moscow - comfort, quiet and relaxation - For the second time in few months, I enjoyed my stay in MaMaison. the staff is very nice, speaks perfect English and the quality of the hotel has been beyond my expectations.
The swimming pool and the sauna are a must.
My only comments are that the pillows in the room are light feather, too soft and it seemed difficult to find harder ones. Also the spa is largely overpriced, but it is often the case in hotels.
Location is very good, close to shoppings malls, subway station and around 15 minutes by foot from from the Kremlin
Free intenet all over the hote with VERY fast access
I gladly recommend the hotel,
- matt (10/5): Very comfortable hotel - We really enjoyed our stay here. the design and decor is modern and comfortable. the room was much larger than expected and had all the furnishings. we loved the hotel room espresso machine!!! although a bit of a walk to red square it wasnt too bad. i would stay there again if in moscow
- Vadim (10/5): one of the best hotel at moscow for this price - one of the best hotel at moscow for this price
- Grant (10/5): Top Notch - Great rooms, nice in room facilities and pleasant spa....good value for Moscow
- John (10/5): Elegant and friendly - I really enjoyed my 8 day stay in the Mamaison. The public rooms are a bit flamboyant for me but my one bedroom suite was one of the most elegantly designed places I have stayed in recently. The sitting room was perfect for working and holding meetings, and I liked it and the kitchen so much that I invited friends round and cooked for them. The staff are friendly and helpful and even took interest in getting everything right for my dinner party.
The only slight drawback is the location on Pokrovka with its daily traffic jams but the ring road is only 200 or so metres away.
- David (10/5): Suite Deal - The Mamaison is a five plus star property with the added benefit of also being an all suite hotel.
We were extremely pleased with our accomodations, fitness facilities and services during our five night visit.
So pleased enough in fact that we are returning to this property for six nights!
- Serge (10/5): Wanna stay there again next time I am in Moscow - I was surprised by the quality of the room and the hotel itself. I travel a lot and did not expect much from a hotel in Moscow. But have to say this is one of the best spa hotels I've ever been to. The service is good with a smile. The spa is not crowded. You can relax there, take a nap, order drinks and/or special treatments. Whatever I ordered was of a great quality. I have to mention the location of the hotel is really good, walking distance to the Red Square and other points of interest.
