We didn't get the room we booked and instead were offered two really small rooms on the ground floor right next to the lobby. Constant passing traffic and people stomping up and down the stairs above us. Poor facilities, the kettle had to be filled with the shower head as the sink was too small. Hairdryer didn't work, had to repeatedly ask for tea and milk. It's really not a cheap hotel, expected more.

• juliewU5594VH (10/5): Perfect location for this quirky hotel - Me and my 15 year old daughter had our first stay here. Check in was smooth and quick with a complimentary welcome drink. Our room was in the third floor. Not ideal for those who struggle with stairs especially steep and winding with your luggage. We managed ok though and this didnt put us off. Our room was quirky, clean and the bed was super comfortable. The location was absolutely perfect. Right in the heart of everything. We were able to walk everywhere. Value for money was excellent. We would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely book again when we visit. Hotel is also dog friendly which is a bonus.

La habitación fría a la llegada. Apagan la calefacción de la habitación cuando hacen la limpieza y si has dejado la habitación ventilando te dejan las ventanas abiertas (eso en Ámsterdam es un problema). Las habitaciones tienen mucho polvo. Escaleras muy incómodas para maletas. La habitación muy pequeña para el precio del hotel. No tiene armario. En el aseo no hay prácticamente espacio, no hay armarios. Desayuno poco variado. No repetiremos.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and kept our bags safe on Sunday while we spent more time exploring before our train back to London. Location is safe and requires a key for entrance later at night. The bathroom was not well maintained and was very musty and could have been cleaned better. The bathroom also had poor lighting.

We were in room 204 which had windows ar the front and back - we opted for a no canal view room but still nice. The welcome drink was a nice touch, the staff were knowledgable and friendly We were in room 204 despite two windows - it was very dark. One ceiling light - which was not bright at all, two lights either side of the bed, another light near the couch was needed. One of the lights was suspended glass lampshade it was place very close to the curtains which makes it at risk of breaking.

• Cristina (8/5): - La ubicacion estuvo muy conveniente y me gusto contar con servicio de bicicleta en el hotel. El personal en su mayoria nos atendió muy bien y la estancia fue muy agradable. Todo el personal se porto muy bien con nosotras, solo los dos ultimos dias uno de los chicos de recepcion si fue muy poco servicial y un poco rudo en su forma de atendernos, mas teniendo en cuenta que nos hospedamos por casi una semana entera en el hotel. Tambien me hubiera gustado que teniendo en cuenta que rentan bicicletas que hubiera alguna opcion de rentarlas por varios dias seguidos e incluso teniendo algun descuento teniendo en cuenta que seria por varios dias o que de contar con este servicio hubieran sido mas claros al momento de aclarar las condiciones del servicio. Tambien tuve un problema con la caja fuerte en el tercer dia de estancia el cual me dejo con un gran mal sabor de boca porque se supone que ese tipo de caja fuertes no deberian recetearse ni tener ese tipo de mal funcionamiento.

• Christoph (8/5): Top Lage und super gemütlich - einfach Klasse! - Das Hotel ist in absoluter Bestlage in Amsterdam - im Zentrum aber doch an einer ruhigen Gracht und Gottseidank doch sehr klein und überschaubar. Mein Zimmer war in der obersten Etage, sehr stylish zwar klein aber super gemütlich. Das Zimmer liegt in Richtung Innenhof und ist daher super ruhig. Das Frühstück war doch typisch "holländisch" und nicht wirklich reichhaltig - leider war das Personal auch nicht immer zur Stelle um nachzufüllen. Die Möblierung beim Frühstuck ist nicht optimal und daher wirkt es mega eng.

Room was perfect for what we needed, clean spacious and the hotels location in the Jordan canals district so beautiful, quiet and central so we were able to walk everywhere really. Will definitely be back! We were ok but if you have any issues with stairs ensure you book on the bottom floor as the stairs are quite steep :)

On check out day we had planned a long lie but unfortunately there was major work being done on the room next to us . Stated at 8.25am. We couldn’t sleep through the noise . They were most apologetic and didn’t charge us for the drinks we had the night before for our inconvenience.

The room despite heating was quite cold. The room and bathroom are tight but have a certain charm. The breakfast is quite minimalistic. Good you don't have to head out but honestly not much else going for it. Overall a good experience but Worth shopping around as you find sth similar for less.

• alexandermW8222YM (10/5): Perfect stay in Amsterdam - The Max Brown Hotel Canal District is a perfect hotel for couples or anyone visiting Amsterdam. It is situated in close proximity to the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam city centre and to the historic Anne Frank House. We stayed in a small double room which was the perfect size for a couple spending the majority of the day on the go. The room was consistently clean and the hotel was filled with luxurious amenities, including hygiene products from Zenology. Giving the oldness of the building, it was quite nosy and anyone using the staircase or closing doors on the level of your bedroom could be heard. You could also hear external noise from our room however it added to the experience of being Amsterdam. HUGE SHOUTOUT to Ebony who was the member of staff who was working during the majority of our stay. Ebony was the loveliest, kindest and most down to earth person. Ebony provided us with great recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants, excellent customer service and was able to any questions we had. Ebony was a delight to have communicated with and met, making our stay even better. I recommend the Max Brown Hotel Canal District to everyone.

• Brenna (8/5): Lovely but Steep - The property was so cute and close to the train station. The stairs, we were on the 3rd story and the stairs were narrow and steep!
• Christian (10/5): Traumhaft und perfekt - Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Da mein Geburtstag während unseres Aufenthalts war, überraschte mich das Personal mit Luftballons, kleinen Geschenken und einer persönlichen Karte. Das Hotel ist super zentral gelegen. Leider waren wir nur zwei Nächte dort :-(
• Celin (10/5): Comfortable bed, amazing staff - Had a delayed flight which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Amsterdam late at night. Had to find a hotel after midnight, and luckily there was room at Max Brown Hotel. It was easy to find, central and also at the same time in a calm area. We appreciated in particular the staff, they were accommodating, helpful and super nice to us. We even got treated to some of the best waffles we've ever had in the morning, along with some tea! We would without a doubt stay here if we went back to Amsterdam.
• Barbara (10/5): Emplacement idéal - Emplacement exceptionnel entre 2 quartiers (Nieuwezijde et centre-très animé et Jordaan- plus calme). L'hôtel est situé au bord d'un canal, nous avons choisit une chambre côté canal pour profiter de la vue. Il y a un peu de passage le weekend mais c'est très calme la semaine. Le plus bruyant a été le Foulque :-) Le personnel est sympathique. Attention tout de même, il n'y a pas d'ascenseur. Notre chambre était au 2ème et dernier étage avec des marches assez étroites - le personnel est là pour vous aider si besoin à transporter vos bagages. Nous avons aussi apprécié le petit déjeuner avec la possibilité de se faire des gaufres. rien

• Christopher (4/5): location great hotel rooms need work - The hotel is a short 8 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station which we caught a train to from the airport. The hotel location is also close to popular areas by foot such as Anne Frank, Royal Palace, Red light district and other close attractions. We had booked a small double room and requested a quiet room. We were given a very small room first floor top of some really steep stairs that was the only point of access to the higher floors. This room was very noisy with residents up and down the stairs. We asked to move rooms partly also because my wife suffers with back problems and the steepness of teh stairs was not ideal and the fact we hadn't slept due to room location. The staff were accommodating and moved us to a front facing low level room. To access this room you had to go outside and there was 2 rooms below road level. This room was also very noisy sitting below a upper property, on a footpath 2m away from a road with single glazed timber like windows. We could hear everything from people walking to deliveries at 2am, noise from the house above going about there daily activities. The room across was occupied and we couldn't use the stairs with ease so we stuck it out. the cleaners cupboard was right next to our door with the night staff in and out with banging doors throughout the night. Cleaner would start work really early pulling the items from the cupboard over the anti slip metal floors making noise. The room across on our final day checked out early (suitcases, doors banging, getting ready) this was around 8:30. The cleaner decided that they were going to clean the room, hoovering, clattering of the metal bins, back and two through doors. The check in policy is 3pm earlier f your room is ready or pay a early check in of 1pm check out is 11am so why clean the room so early. Welcome drink, we seen many guests check in a receive a welcome drink we didn't get one, free drink when logging into the wi fi we didn't get this, i cant comment on teh breakfast as we didnt have it at 17 euros per head we found it more cost effective to eat out. This room cost us over £640.00 inclusive of taxes and it wasnt worth half
