Guest Reviews
- Mallory (8/5): - Great location, clean rooms!
- Randall (10/5): - Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The check-in process was quick and effortless, and the apartment was spotless and comfortable. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and we look forward to returning to Venice and staying here again.
- Emily (6/5): - Convenient location near St. Marks square. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful navigating ferry transportation and times as well as navigating the area and sightseeing. Room was clean but a little dated looking. Walls were a bit thin as we could hear people walking and talking through the night. We chose this place as a good place to just rest our heads for the night as it was a quick stop before continuing our travels. Overall good stay.
- THEA (6/5): - Staff was not available during hours listed on website. Additional visitor tax fees not listed that required cash payment i was not aware of caused me additional fees to pull from ATM. Staff spoke no English which made it difficult to have clear understanding of what they were asking or communicating.
- Teresa (10/5): - Tgghffhkkydgkirdh
- Madeline (4/5): - So this booking was probably my worst choice of my trip. The only thing I could say was good, was the location near Rialto Bridge. First, we were told check in was 7 am-4 pm. So we had our plane arrive early and got there around 8:30 am hoping to sleep, and we couldn’t get our room until 12 pm. Check in time should have stated 12 pm- 4 pm. Next thing, the staff barely spoke English (which I completely understand and is okay that they don’t considering we are in English) but we were told staff does but it was extremely hard to communicate if they were even at the desk, which was rare. I was also told they were able to book a water taxi to the airport for us on the booking and private message, but the staff is never there and just looked confused when we asked. The place is older and there were water stains on the walls from the AC? And cracks all in the ceiling and the hairdryer was broken and our sink clogged up constantly. It was fine for the one night we were here, but I wouldn’t recommend it to others. We did pick it because it was one of the cheaper ones I could find, but I know now why, so I would have chose something else.
- Christine (8/5): - The terrace to the plaza was nice. Our room was big for our family
- kristina (10/5): - Wonderful hotel. Does not have an elevator. The staff was so kind and helpful. The location near Rialto was nice.
- NILESH (2/5): - The Italian lady at the front desk does not know any English. When we were asking her normal check in questions, she calls us stupid in spanish. She called us dumb, annoying, and a few other bad words while projecting to smile.
For the 7 people of our group waiting to finish check in, she said why are they "soliciting".
Terrible place. OK rooms. Nothing special. Very far from where the boat drops you.
- Surayo (10/5): - Very good area, we loved staying there, front desk lady was very nice, explaoeverything, detailed map cleaning lady Luba was very nice.
The only thing is if you have back or joint problem is hard to climb on those stairs- no elevator.
- Nadia (10/5): - I can’t wait to stay here again. Easy check in process.
- Joy (6/5): - The lady at the desk doesn’t speak English and was rather rude and loud with a in your face type of demeanor that was dismissive, not patient nor professional, which made the place feel not welcoming. The room itself is old but spacious, a bit of weird moldy looking patch up on the ceiling, the location itself is very convenient and central but because of that you should be prepared to carry your luggage through thick crowds to get to the hotel given it’s near the hotspot of Rialto bridge.
- Surdip (6/5): - Great location, walking distance to St Marks square and rialto bridge and other main sights.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Only complaint was that our room was next to reception desk and faced the piazza so was noisy in the morning and woke us up early.
- Maureen Mary (10/5): - Thank you for a lovely vacation. The prooerty was well positioned, just a short walk to St Marks Square and the Rialto bridge. Would definitely stay here again.
- Wilbert (8/5): - easy check in, clean room, walkable location
- Michael (6/5): - Air conditioner did not with. It was very hot even in early April. Front office didn’t speak English and she got upset with me bc I didn’t have exact euros.
Won’t be returning.
- Juan (10/5): Great location! - Loved the location! Very close to main attractions, walking distance to most in 10 min. The view from room was very nice.
The downside was that there was no elevator to the 3rd floor, carrying heavy bags up 3 flights of stairs was not easy. The other downside was the noise at night, people out and about drinking to 2am are not very quiet and we could hear everything even with the windows closed. Not the hotels fault but it does impact stay. Patrizia was the nicest host we have had in a long while too, many thanks to her.
- mary (8/5): - The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and relatively quiet, there was occasional noise in the walkway below but did not bother us. The only problem for me was that the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I moved to the middle of the bed in order to get any sleep at all. It did not bother my husband though.
- Aletha (10/5): - Central location! Comfortable room. Easy check in
- Suelen (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay with our two young children. This location was convenient to all the things we wanted to do in Venice. It’s a historic property and the rooms are equipped with everything you need (mini bar, comfortable beds and pillows, hairdryer, coffee, tea) our family room had a big window facing the courtyard so it got a little noisy Saturday night but nothing too bad. Our kids were able to sleep through it. I would definitely come back! The best part about this stay was the service. Everyone from the front desk ladies to the housekeeper were friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and exceptional.
- Amy (8/5): - This property is charming place and overlooking a piazza. We were only here for one night and all was fine. We especially loved Patricia. She was so helpful and kind.
- Alba (8/5): - The room was clean and had a large size bathroom, there was a strong smell of spices or perfume, but not bad, just different. The walk from the station was 25 minutes. Lots of bridges to get there too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location of the property is excellent and the staff very helpful. There is no elevator and we stayed on the top floor which is challenging. We had a private bathroom but it was located down the hall rather than attached to the room but we adapted.
- Pamela (10/5): - Great location very pleased with stay
Room very spacious
- Michael (8/5): - Wonderful location and a great staff!
- Reece (10/5): - The location of the hotel was fantastic, its in close proximity to key attractions of venice. However, due to the layout of venice and the hotel lacking any clear signage it can be difficult to find so make sure youve got some way of navigating Venice to find it (we used google maps).
The hotel rooms and bathrooms are nice and spacious with all the utilities you need available to you; i was particularly pleased about having air conditioning when we went during a heat wave.
The room decoration was nice, there was a couple of small signs of wear and tear and needing a little bit of maintenance (marks on the wall, bathroom doorhandle falling off) but then that was potentially just our room and to us it was just one of those things.
The staff were amazingly helpful when we needed any help or questions answering.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great place to stay in Venice. - Venice is challenging. Almost all locations off the Grand Canal are tricky to find and your GPS has trouble finding your location. So it is hard to find. And, like every where in Venice, there are stairs and more stairs to cross over the numerous canals. But the advantage this property offers is easy access to the Rialto Vaporetta stop and to several lovely neighborhood squares. The room was very nice and the staff were helpful, especially Sergio. There is no elevator and the flights of stairs are long. I recommend it and would be delighted to return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I thoroughly recommend Ca'Bragadin Carabba and this was my 4th visit. It has never failed to deliver on service and hospitality. I love the quiet location away from busy tourist spots and the bonus of some great little bars and restaurants close by. A great place from which to explore. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
- Bobbie (10/5): Great hotel - The room was huge and comfortable, the air was extremely cold which was nice because it was so hot. Only downfall would be elevator did not work
- Jojie (10/5): - The place is very clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The service of the front desk was excellent. They provided all that we needed and it was centrally located.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Little bit difficult to find.Lovely staff.Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the beautiful room with high ceilings and balcony with modern shower. The location was close to everything! Would definitely recommend!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Ant Infestation - Normally I always enjoy hotel stays away, be it in a 1 star hotel or a 5 star. However my stay at this hotel was dreadful. I checked in to the room along with my partner and we go up to the room. The room has a strange smell but initially thought that was maybe just because it was old. As we are sitting in the room I notice that floor is basically moving and that loads of ants are crawling around everywhere in the bedroom!! I speak with reception who say we cannot change rooms tonight as it was fully booked but could swap the next day. The receptionist said he did not know this was an issue with the room and he said he would come and spray ant killer. Once he did this I realised the strange smell in the room was that of the ant spray! And that they clearly knew this was an issue with the room already. The next day came and most of the ants were dead and the receptionist did not swap our room over, instead we had to stay another night with more ant spray and left our holiday with several ant bites.. Severely disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the service received.
- James (10/5): A little hard to find - At first was a little hard to find, but the room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. Staff was very professional and courteous.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Only issue was the lift for our luggage was not working. Great location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Brilliant location, a couple of minutes walk from the Rialto bridge. Very friendly staff and lovely clean and spacious rooms. Will definitely visit again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Freindly helpful staff. clean room and comfy bed. tea coffee sugar milk amenities frugal, however a really local coop sorted that out. no breakfast, plenty of cafes nearby.easy location map supplied to find the place.
- Craig (4/5): A good location but not much else - Anniversary stay. Really dated room nothing like the pictures and only real highlight was a comfortable and clean room. Please don’t book on the basis of the Hotels.com photos. Staff weren’t very polite sadly. Location is great once you find it.
- Kevin (8/5): Great place to stay but new bathroom needed - The location was great and the design of main room was perfect Venetian style which I loved. Further inspection I found the bathroom dates and needing upgraded. I was also confused with the room tax as it was stated on hotels.com that it was £18 for whole stay but I was charged £24 for stay at the end. However I would really just prefer they upgraded bathroom as everything else was great
- Julian (6/5): You get what you pay for - Clean room
Friendly staff
Shower terrible
Location great
Good mini bar
- Pheno (2/5): - Terrible staff, totally trash. The toilet is not even clean. And the heating is not working properly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The customer service also the guide to where places were
- Martin (8/5): The perfect week in Venice - Be aware this inn DOES NOT provide breakfast, even though it clearly stated that they could when booking. Not a deal-breaker but disappointing as it was expected. Room and location were perfect though and finding breakfast out is easy at any number of charming local cafes, especially those frequented by locals more so than tourists.
- Kristin (6/5): Decent - The staff was helpful and friendly, we got checked in early with no issues, and our room was clean and nicely decorated. However, it was a little tricky to find, some of the lights in our room didn't work, the bathroom was pretty cramped, and our room was right off the reception area so it was noisy when other guests arrived.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, lovely friendly staff. Would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet area of Venice. Close to a great Breakfast restaurant and good restaurant. Not easy to find the first time but part of the adventure!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel . Clean and quiet. Showering was impossible due to an oddly angled shower but baths were fine. Close to everything with very accommodating staff
- alex (8/5): - Nice staff and good room....location is not easy to find...recommend to put some sign for direction..
- cheryl (10/5): Ca'Bragadin Carabba and Venice are a wonderful com - We had a wonderful stay at Ca'Bragadin Carabba. Our room was clean and comfortable and I especially enjoyed opening the windows and looking out onto the square each morning. The location is very convenient and the people at the desk were always very helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff and great location! Overall, everything was fine during our stay. The room was a bit too cold though. This could be easily solved by turning on the heating earlier or improving the windows' insulation.
- Helen (8/5): - The hotel was very centrally located. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The staff on reception were pleased to help with local suggestions and information.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the size of the room and bathroom. Nice king size bed. Toiletries were nice. The flooring was old and chipped. It was manageable hauling luggage up and down to the third floor but one elevator would help
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Location ok. Room ok.
No heather, the room was very cold. I had very bad flu after visit.
No sockets plug in the hotel. I forget bring mine.
- Treasa (8/5): - Very quaint hotel. It's a little hidden you have to look for it, we had tons of luggage that we had to roll on the cobblestone. I personally loved the ambiance as I was looking for exactly what they offered during our one night stay in Venice. We were traveling with 5 other couples and we all had different rooms. Lots of stairs and small. Some rooms had great roof tops patios. Our room was off a main living area and we did have to go into the hallway to get to our private bathroom. Not all the convenient but again, it gave that old time feeling. If you want an authentic feel of Venice it's perfect. Also steps away from the water taxi drop off.
- Sandra (10/5): - Amazing room and location. Friendly personnel. Love it.
- Joanna (10/5): - Lovely hotel, welcoming staff, good location to explore Venice
- Victor (8/5): - Value for money but location is deep inside. We arrive d late night and glad I had offline google maps to locate.
- Holly (8/5): Stay in Venice, Italy - Stayed in Venice for 4 days. Hard to find hotel but good location. No coffee/tea pot in room. No food service except limited room service. Shower had evidence of mold in shower, common in Europe. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Lots of stairs, elevator only for luggage. Reception is on second floor with rooms on second and third floor. Hotel was quite and room was on the small size.
- 15mintoSanMarco (10/5): - This property is in a great area. You can walk to San Marco Square, Correa Museum and Doge’s Palace in about 15 minutes. Near the Rialto bridge, shopping and dining. Units are clean and well appointed. We had a window overlooking Campo Marina Square - great to open and watch the world go by. Nice staff!!
I would recommend Ca Bradigan Carraba to a friend. We had a great stay.
Note: We walked from the train station to the hotel which was quite a hike! Recommend taking the water bus for €7 per person. There is a dock to the right of the train station. Get off at the Rialto Bridge stop. Walk toward the Rialto bridge - (do NOT cross the Rialto bridge). Take any path to the left. When you come to the end of the path turn left and follow the narrow street. Cross a canal bridge. Continue onward until you get to a Burger King and a candy store. Turn right. Take the path on the right. You will pass a Square with two cafes. When you see a small souvenir shop, the hotel will be on the left. The hotel name is on a small brass plaque. Ring the bell to be buzzed in. Good luck. Have fun in Venice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely room lovely staff! Convenient location in the city.
- Mike (10/5): - Excellent location in that it was quiet but only about a 5 minute walk from the Grand Canal area. It was a little difficult to find, but that turned out to be rather charming.
- Mark (10/5): - Very nice and quiet. A bit off the beaten path, but very comfortable and good size room for Europe. Clean, comfortable, and a very nice breakfast each morning! Staff were excellent and tended to all of our needs.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. The staff was very kind and professional. The one negative was that the shower head in the room we stayed didn't work. After arriving late from a flight this was the last thing we wanted to face.
- John (8/5): Great location and staff. - Excellent location, but difficult to find. They should put a sign out in the campo (square) to help locate the front entrance. They should send directions when people book. All the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly with dining suggestions and assistance. The room was a good size, would be nice to have just a small little table and a 2nd chair. The bed was uncomfortable, two twins pushed together, noticeable ridge in center. The wifi was great, lot's of hot water and pressure. The room attendant was helpful and efficient, would recommend your hotel.
- Amanda (10/5): Great hotel - Lovely big suite with two doors opening out to views of the square behind us. Really close to Rialto bridge. Very pleased and will stay again.
- Holli (10/5): Must stay! - Amazing room in a wonderful centrally located building.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Having stayed previously, it was wonderful to return and find it was excellent as ever.
- Vic (10/5): Good value Great Location - Good value and great central Venice location but away from the tourist crowds.
- Liz (8/5): - Clean, comfortable accommodation on a quiet piazza with a tasty Italian breakfast delivered to the room. A little tricky to find but quite close to the Rialto bridge and Vaporetto station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cons: difficult to find (Even though I emailed the hotel and asked for help, they only told me how to take public transportation from the train station to the hotel, but they never gave me walking directions once we got off. We had to carry luggage up and down the stairs, going back and forth looking for the hotel. The only sign they have is a small one on the door which can be easily missed. All the locals we asked had not heard about this hotel before.); terrible smell in the lobby; dirty lobby floor; city tax can be paid with cash only; didn't change towels until we asked even though they were dirty and on the floor, instead they picked them up from the floor and hung them!
Pros: clean and spacious suite, inviting colors, good location (in the middle between Rialto and San Marco)
- Becca (10/5): - We spend one night here before a cruise. It was in a great location and easy to find with the directions provided. The folks at the front desk were extremely helpful and welcoming. We would stay here again!
- BINGBING (10/5): - Everything is good, except the bathroom which is inconvenient for family or isomerism
- Emily (6/5): No elevator! - Hotel was in good location. Easy to find but be prepared to go up and down bridges with luggage. The hotel had no elevator so had to take luggage up two flights of stairs. The suite was will appointed and comfortable. No iron available due to fire hazard and they were not able to let me iron the. The other building either. Not friendly management.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Hotel - The room was very spacious and the location was great (although I do agree agree with previous comments that the hotel is a little difficult to find). Our room was also very clean and the air conditioner worked perfectly. The only drawback was that the bathroom was very small. Ours was shaped like a thin rectangle and therefore it was a little difficult to get dressed and get ready in there.
- Seb (10/5): - Very good location
Big room
Nice staff
Very clean
Big balcony
- Marie (8/5): - Pillows were hard. Air conditioner was not good. Man at desk was rude when asked to help. Other than that others were helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Can’t really fault it. - Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was in another building which looked to have been recently refurbished and was of a high standard (a little glitzy perhaps) We had booked a family room but actually had a triple and single room, ideal for a little privacy changing etc. Great location, Rialto 10 mins walk. Would stay again.
- paul (8/5): nice apt - large apt close to everything, lovely aircon! fridge is very handy also
- Mike (10/5): - Great value for money, spotlessly clean and great location! Thank you
- rammy (2/5): STAY AWAY!!!!!! - I would avoid staying here at all cost!! This place is horrible. The guy at the desk was the rudest man in Italy. We had trouble finding the entrance so we called the hotel and he made it seem like it was a burden to help us. Then he showed us our room and mentioned that our bathroom is detached. To get to our bathroom we had to go through a living room area and it was right next to another room and you can here everything through their thin walls. We booked two nights here and cancelled the second night. The AC unit was clearly not working correctly and produced an ongoing noise throughout the night and ruined our sleep. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT!!! I would not stay here even if it was FREE!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to all the main sights. Easy to locate. Polite and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Air con was great. A beautiful room and breakfast was offered as well. We would definitely stay there again.
- Inna (10/5): Great hotel in a great location - Wonderful stay in Venice. Very large clean room with a huge bathroom. Quiet street within a very short walk to all the attractions.
- Dan (10/5): - Lovely views and great vibes. Quite a walk from the train station but well worth it
- Sam (8/5): - Excellent customer service from friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay here. Best air conditioning in all of Italy.
- Kate (10/5): - Lovely location away from the craziness but still close enough to everything. Comfortable and clean room. Helpful staff.
- Craig (10/5): Great place to stay - Only had 2 nights, could of stayed longer. Just prepare to get confused and a little lost in the maze of streets and lanes
- CityTripper (8/5): Nice hotel but hard to find. - We had an enjoyable stay here. The hotel was clean and comfortable and once we got our bearings it was halfway between San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge. It was reasonably priced in relation to many other hotels in Venice. A few little bars and cafes nearby. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was strong. Mini bar in room not too badly priced. However, although once inside the rooms are nice and its location is well situated for seeing the sites, it is really hard to find. We arrived when it was dark making it even more difficult. The hotel name is on a small, dark plaque on a dark wall and very easy to miss. Even with Google maps and a paper copy it took a a lot of of wandering about before locating it. We even walked past and missed the sign. We needed the map each time we returned. I would only recommend this property to those who can find their way about easily, you will not be disappointed. If you get lost easily find somewhere else!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly staff, secure and clean but the air conditioner in room made loud noise every 5 minutes throughout the night.
- Richard (8/5): Quiet location close to historical centre - Very comfortable 4 night stay. The hotel is within a few minutes walk of the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square.
- Christian (8/5): Centrally located and short walk from St. Mark's - If your coming from the Venice train station you can get a Vesperatto boat ferry ticket to Rialto C. Ticket booth is behind train station on Grand canal. This takes you near the famous Rialto bridge. From here it is a short walk to hotel. I recommend your phone GPS to find hotel. The hotel just has a small plaque on wall near the door. You enter a small lobby and reception is upstairs on second floor. There are no elevators in this hotel which was tough walking up 3 flights of stairs to get to our room. Hotel is located in a small square which does have a couple of restaurants and small grocery nearby. There were four of us. So they used two twins put together and two fold out couch beds. Mattress were not comfortable yet room was large and nicely furnished. We had a large balcony overlooking the small square. Staff speak english and were quick to respond when we had a issue with shower drainage.
- theresa (8/5): Lovely stay! - Close to Rialto bridge. Less than 10 min walk to San Marco square! Fabulous!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Venice hotel stay June 2018 - The hotel was not clearly marked so somewhat difficult to find although it was located near a canal where our water taxi dropped us off with suitcases, and to restaurants, which was definitely a plus. We had two separate stays with different rooms, both before and after our cruise, and both rooms were spacious and clean. There was a small courtyard on the ground floor. No elevator but cannot be expected we understand in Venice at a three star hotel. The front desk clerk was very helpful.
- Afu (10/5): Nice clean rooms - Our room was almost brand new. It had two bedrooms with almost new beds and bedding. They told us it was just open starting 6 months ago so there was really nice.
It was in a quiet alley but very convenient to nearby places.
Bathroom was nice and clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice facility but a little bit out-of-the-way - Nice facility but a little bit out-of-the-way
The facility was clean the people were very courteous are no elevators was a bit of a problem but otherwise I would recommend it it’s a little hard to find though
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel is a gem hidden in Venice. A little hard to find but lovely with a great location close to everything. Very easy to get off the water taxi at Railto and walk to the hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. We would stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ca'Bragadin Carabba in Venice was the first stop of our 2 week long Italian honeymoon. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and full of great recommendations. The hotel's location is wonderful, but a bit hidden when you're first looking for it. All of Venice is difficult to navigate, so be sure you leave the boat station prepared for a bit of frustration and a maze. Once you arrive though, you'll be greeted by warm hospitality and authentic Venice charm at this hotel!
- Isabella (8/5): Good place to stay in Venice - Overall, for the cost of the hotel it was a great place to stay. The rooms definitely don't look like the pictures, but we didn't mind. We were right at the end of the top floor, and with no lift going right up it made lugging our suitcases up a bit of a pain. Our room was also next door to the cleaners laundry area, and they started cleaning early in the morning so wasn't very quiet.
- Denise (10/5): A wonderful hotel - Amazing staff team, incredibly helpful. Great accommodation, very clean and comfortable. Good shower. Buffet breakfast worth the money. Ideal location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The only issue that might be a problem for some is the 10-15 minute walk with luggage over 3 canals with steps. Hard to find so bring your phone gps!!! Otherwise, all good.
