Room was comfortable & liked the little candies as a nice touch. Walking & crossing the road here were a little crazy but that appeared to be common. Construction next door made walking a bit more difficult as well.

If you are interested in architecture and design, you'll be delighted with the woodwork, the marbel floors, the small balconies, etc. Rooms and bathrooms had been upgraded to modern standards. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great neighborhood close to West lake.

• Saina (3/5): - Central location, friendly staff I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The furniture and facilities are extremely old and outdated. There was visible mold on the walls, stains on the curtains and furniture, and overall the room felt dirty and poorly maintained. It honestly felt unhygienic. Sound insulation is practically nonexistent, you can hear everything from neighboring rooms, and if your room faces the street, the noise is unbearable. Getting a proper night’s sleep was nearly impossible. I would strongly caution travelers not to be fooled by the overly positive reviews, my experience did not match them at all. On the positive side, the location is decent and the staff were helpful. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to make up for the poor condition of the hotel. I would not stay here again.

• Jason (9/5): Would definitely stay again - Having read the most recent reviews on Google, we were a little nervous about what to expect but our concerns were unnecessary. From the outset, the staff were cordial, accommodating and helpful especially Hero (who seemed to be ever-present) - his friendly face and happy demeanour never failed to raise a smile. Spacious room, we were level 10 so no traffic noise, reasonable amenities, great shower, sofa was nice touch so you could relax without lying on bed. Easy walking distance to Old Quarter, restaurants and night market.We felt safe even walking home after 10pm Breakfast is adequate, good choice if only average quality. TV channels limited for english speakers but you're not here to be a couch potato so not a major problem

• Antonio (10/5): Cómodo y entrañable - Se nota que el hotel tiene sus años en algunos detalles, pero está muy bien conservado y actualizado. Las habitaciones son amplias y el baño es muy cómodo. Muy bueno el desayuno y muy recomendable tomar una copa en el bar del último piso, con una decoración ochentera retrofuturista y amplias vistas de Hanoi. La zona en la que está situada es más tranquila que las calles más turísticas, pero está muy cerca de ellas. Todo bien. Eso sí, hay que tener en cuenta que en la puerta del hotel hay una escalera que puede ser algo incómoda para personas mayores o con problemas de movilidad.

• Cristina (9/5): Outer Old Quarter, nice hotel for the price - We had the deluxe upgraded room which had a sofa to sit, we stayed for 9 nights, good bed a bit on the harder side but good. Good water pressure. Good breakfast, excellent care. Do not miss visiting the top floor lounge for drinks. Good views great vibes. In the center but need to walk a bit, no big deal. Staff is wonderful, particularly Hero in the lobby. He will assist you with anything you need like a taxi for a lower price than Grab. Good price to value hotel. Hotel looks like the photos but is older. They can invest in newer lamps perhaps on aromatizers to improve the smell which is not bad, just a bit older. Room darkening curtains need to be installed, I had to use eye shades. Unlike Vietnamese which wake up very early, tourists may not. I would recommend breakfast to last till 10:30am. The 9:30am limit is too early imo.

A man who seemed like the manager kept following me around, being overly friendly to the point of making me uncomfortable. In the morning, while I was still sleeping, he called my room and pressured me to come down for breakfast. During checkout, he kept following me and insisted that I give a 5-star rating on Booking.com immediately. Even after I refused, he kept pushing and wouldn't leave me alone.
