• BRIAN (4/5): - The room we received looked nothing like the pictures. Everything was old and scratched up, could not cast anything to the tv. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was broken,the heater didnt work in the room, (it was cold). The attendant said they dont turn those on until December ?#?#?. The bathroom was very nice; but i am not sleeping there am i. I was extremely disappointed in this property as it did not look anything like the pictures...it reminded me of a truck stop,road side motel. P.S. The only plus ➕️ was the 5$ breakfast in the morning's, it was very good and the attendant there was stellar 👌 🙌
• Cheryl (6/5): - The room was clean and wonderfully spacious. There was even a lovely small balcony. We also enjoyed the breakfast. However the fridge in the room did not work and though I spoke with staff three times, nothing was ever done, not even a verbal response. Though we enjoyed our room, the building was rundown and unclean. I saw garbage on the floor in the lobby for three of the five days we were there. I even took a photo, if you wish to see it. The walls were dingy and looked as if the place hadn’t been painted in many decades. Another concern was late arrivals. Two nights we were assisting late arrivals because it was difficult for them to contact any staff to access their rooms. One night we let in a group of seven people to sleep in the reception area because there was no way for them to contact the staff to get into their rooms. No emergency number was provided, and no staff was on the premises. The family got to their rooms in the morning at 6am when the cook arrived to prepare breakfast. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone.

But when stay, the Residenza D'Epoca Palazzo Galletti said NO INCLUDE BREAKFAST. THAT MEANS EXPEDIA CHEATED US. WE PAID MONEY FOR BREAKFAST BUT WE DID NOT HAVE ANY MEALS. THAT IS TERRIBLE MAKE ME DONT WANT USE EXPEDIA IN THE FUTURE TRIP ANY MORE. WHEN I COMPLAIN ABOUT BREAKFAST, THE RECEPTION SAID IF YOU BOOK AT EXPEDIA, YOU CLAIM EXPEDIA. THAT UPSET ME. I PAID FOR THE MEALS BUT I DID GET THE MEALS. NOT FAIR. I TIRED OF GAME OF EXPEDIA WHICH PLAYS GAME WITH ME. THAT TERRIBLE.
• hossein (4/5): - Except the location everything else was bellow average. No night stands, no coffee or tea maker in the facility or in room. They didn’t change our sheets during the five nights stay. Breakfast was awful , they hardly had anything and what they had was terrible. The blanket they provided had hair all over was dirty. No bottled water in the room or the facility.
• Filipemferraz (6/5): Location Location - Me and my wife spend our honeymoon here (4 nights) The location is fantastic, the room with its high selling,painting on the wall and a very nice balcony is very original for the time period, the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful and for that reason it is worth stay on this residenza. Now the down side and the most negative of all is the man who prepares the breakfast! So unfriendly (against all the guests you can see that he really hates his jobb) and it is not what you want to encounter first thing in the morning. The breakfast it self is also the minimum of the minimum basically it is roastbread, cheese and ham and thats it!). After 2 days we decided to take our breakfast somewhere else (despite that we hade payed for the breakfast already)
• David (2/5): - The only thing good about this hotel is its location to duomo. Otherwise it was dirty, EXTREMELY BAD SMELL (we stayed in Superior Room), fridge did not work, AC did not work, toilet flush intermittent, glass shelf hanging on by thread over toilet, side table cracked. We told the desk about the fridge and AC right away, and we got almost a shoulder shrug. Again on leaving the lady at front desk asked how stay was (a different employee this time) and when we told her our complaints, all that was said was sorry. Just as an added point, expedia emailed us the same night coincidentally to ask how our check in was and I emailed them all our complaints, no response from them either. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN ALL ASPECTS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
• Fiona (10/5): - We loved our stay in Residenza D’Epoca Pazzo Galletti. The staff were extremely welcoming and walked us to our room and showed us how to use the key, lights and hot water (we have travelled to a few places in Italy during this holiday and no one else provided this attention for us). The rooms are beautiful and bed were very comfy. The location is great, it’s close to restaurants bars and walking distance from the train station. Breakfast was also a lovely addition. 10/10 stay 😊

• Michael (8/5): Historical place in central Florence - Let's call it a true period piece. That's exactly what Residenza d'Epoca means. There is no elevator in this historical building. The hotel occupies the second floor of a larger building pretty much in the center of Florence. Our room was exactly the one pictured in the Hotels.com advertisements. In the room one felt like being transported to an earlier century. The king-size bed was very comfortable and, overall, the room was very spacious. So was the bathroom with shower and European bathtub (long enough and deep enough to take a real bath in, which I thoroughly enjoyed). Some features needed updating like the light fixtures above the sink and the drainage of the sink itself. I am not sure whether I would like to stay in that room during mid-summer since there was no air-conditioning device visible. And without A/C in that huge room, getting a good night's sleep could be a real chore. Still, the room was a reall oddity and, therefore, I did like it very much.
• 671fir (2/5): Danger! Smell of electrical burning. Exposed electrical wires - DANGER! Don’t be fooled by the ‘authentic’ photos of painted walls. Room had an electrical burning smell. Electrical wires were hanging out of the walls! We had a baby with us that could have been killed. Only one staff member spoke little English any said they couldn’t smell anything but the room was full of odour eliminators. No hot water. Backpacker hostel accommodation. We left immediately. Staff were so rude! Trip advisor needs to remove this hotel from its platform. It is dangerous and filthy! Room was the largest room and it was awful. Hate to think what the cheaper rooms are like!
• bje657 (2/5): Disgusting… do not stay! - Horrible! Room stunk of burning plastic from an electrical fault. Wires were exposed from the walls at electrical outlets. Really dangerous. We had a baby with us and they said it was all safe. We asked to move rooms. The room was full of fumes. Only one staff member spoke English and said it was fine but odour eliminators were plugged in all around the room and bathroom. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Had to change hotels. Refused refund. No hot water. Don’t let the photos of the painted walls fool you / room was disgusting.

We were upgraded upon arrival to the most beautiful room with decorative frescoes painted on the walls. The space was magical and the kindness of the staff made our stay extra special. Breakfast and the breakfast chef was an added bonus. We would definitly stay here again. Thank you.

• HDanie94 (2/5): Not sure I’d call this a hotel, especially our room “Urano” - When we booked our trip, it was sold as a 4* hotel in Florence city centre.    Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted with an A4 piece of paper taped to the hotel door, with my name on it, explaining that we had been emailed a combination to access the hotel key lock box. The hotel was unstaffed. We had not received this email, which had reportedly been sent to Expedia, despite us not booking with them. I then called the emergency helpline for my booking company. The emergency helpline initially told me that they had received no email, and therefore couldn’t do anything to help. I was placed onto hold for an hour, after which time, they were able to provide a four digit code to enter the hotel.   After entering the hotel, it was clear that this had been missold. This was far from a four star hotel, it was more akin to a backpackers motel. The room was hot, with no cooling. There were mosquitoes everywhere, an uncomfortable bed, and worst of all- mould. The safe was non functional, so we carried our valuables around, as the hotel did not feel secure.    After two nights here, with hardly any sleep, we were keen to get to the airport and away from Florence. A real shame, as the city itself is beautiful.
• Rajesh (2/5): - This is terrible place to stay. Our experience was even worse. The Air conditioner in the room was not working and showed E7 error. The place has strict check in time up to 7pm. The staff provided us with late self check in instructions. We contacted hotel staff through messages but the response was we cannot do anything at this time. The morning staff will support this issue. We kept the window open as it was suffocating with no AC. We didn’t realize that will have mosquitoes through. We had so many mosquito bites in the morning. Overall, horrible place. Run away and don’t stay here.
• James (4/5): A big bed, but a very tiny breakfast - Nice location in Santa Croce, but a few things... The room we had (Giove) had a very cool Medici-sleeping chamber vibe, with forced perspective murals on every wall, high ceilings with exposed beams & a large elaborate light fixture hanging down. I make note of the light fixture, as it bounced & wobbled from a large group of children (??) running & tumbling on the floor above, all the way until 7PM. The desk clerk said, "Oh, that must be the school," as if that was a given. There would be an adult shouting, "Uno, due, tre, PRONT-O-O-O!," followed by stomps & thuds across the ceiling. And, while there was a bed, they must have forgotten the "breakfast" part of "B&B". The spread consisted of some cheese, some packaged dried-toast. We were offered croissants & coffee, but, it was very poor overall.
• Alexia (4/5): Dark and smelly but close to the Duomo - The building is dark and depressing, don’t open the window because the courtyard smells like a sewer. The room is pretty bare and the hot water in the shower takes a very long time to turn on. Also the city tax is 7€/day/person for this type of residence. Convenient for one night only because it is close to the Duomo.

• L7605WMjeffb (2/5): Dishonest and disgusting hotel - AVOID. No hot water (we were informed at check-in only) and no refunds offered. In the room… moldy bathroom, stains on bed. Left immediately. No refunds, no apologies. Save your vacation, avoid this.

• Del (6/5): - The receptionist is the best part of this stay. She’s very sweet, kind and helpful in the room is old even though they upgraded the bathroom in our room. The worst part was the sofa bed. It was so uncomfortable, very thin mattress over spring The other bed wasn’t comfortable neither. The building is pretty rundown and the furniture inside the room are old and have broken pieces. There is a bad smell in some areas of the building. Breakfast is OK.

• eftychialazari (2/5): Worst experience ever! A waste of money! Don’t worth anything! Just read to see what happened… - The worst experience I have ever had!!! Absolutely a waste of money there!! No real air condition, just a thing that worked like air condition but it made too much noise we couldn't sleep, lots of bucks and mosquitoes, too old building and rooms. No elevator, we had to carry our bags from stairs. Worst breakfast ever, it didn't have something and it was in a space like cave and I felt too bad there so we didn't even try to eat there, we left and we were eating breakfast in cafes! Wouldn't recommend to anyone to visit this hotel, there are other hotel with great location don't even give it a chance. The worst part was that the maid cleaned my bedside table (as she was not allowed from the hotel to clean it) she throw away my medical - dental splint that was really important for me to wear it, that costed 700€ and went to see what happened and they just say they were sorry about it and it was their fault but they can't do something or refund me in any way for their mistake, I told them I wanted to talked with the manager there but the manager didn't even answer their phone calls and later the next day they told me that they can't do something and sorry!! That's a shame from them! That was their fault and they didn't even care! Don't even try to visit it it's an awful place!
• Karen (2/5): - We were there in the summer and the AC was absolutely terrible and we were there with the baby, which made it almost impossible for him or us to sleep. They did not have sufficient cribs available. We had no hot water for the first two nights of our stay. Considering what we paid for the room I would never stay there again or tell anyone I know to stay there. Finally we asked the front staff to call us a taxi so that could make it to the train station the day we checked out and no taxi ever arrived.

• courtneyj774 (4/5): Don’t book here- - Before you read this: I do not recommend this hotel. If you can find somewhere else, even if a little more expensive, do it. Advertised as air conditioning, not true. Only AC in June. It was miserably hot so we opened up windows for air. We were demolished by bugs, at least 100 Bites between myself and my husband. We spoke with management and they said they would spray but we got more bites the second night. Not a pleasant experience. Only positives- location was great. Rooms somewhat comfortable but I felt like we overpaid for quality.

• Adam (2/5): Avoid! Bed bugs and broken air con! - Avoid at all costs! This was the worse hotel stay of my life. The air con broke in 35 degree heat and it leaked all in my luggage including my laptop. I also woke up ravaged in bites and so did my friend. The place is swarming with bed bugs. The only decent thing about this hotel is the location. Don’t ruin your trip by staying here.
• AdamD390 (2/5): Avoid, or risk ruining your trip. - We picked this hotel based on the location, but it turned out to be a very regrettable choice. On first looks, the room seemed fine, but soon the issues would unravel. It will go down as the worst holiday experience of my life. The air conditioner did not work and would leak, I discovered this when my luggage was soaking wet as I had placed by suitcase under the air conditioner which was placed way too high in the room anyway. All my luggage was wet, including my £1350 laptop. With no air conditioning in 35-degree heat, we did not get a wink of sleep. Reception is closed after 8pm so we had to suffer all night. The next day, the hotel put two buckets down, so now we had buckets of water in our room, which probably attracted all the mosquitos. I did inform the staff, but they couldn’t seem to make a decision without phoning the owner. And the only solution they offered was another room, which was a double, and we had a twin. I did not want to share a bed with a grown man as that would also be uncomfortable. What’s more, I spoke to four different reception people there over our two day stay. So, I had to keep explaining the issue which never seemed passed on or taken very seriously. I was also ravaged by bed buys or mosquitos; my friend wasn’t bitten once so maybe it was bed bugs. It’s the worst experience I’ve had with bites in my life, and I’ve been to far more mosquito prone areas. The hotel did not have any fans to offer or would not move another bed into another room. They were completely out of their depth and ill-prepared. In addition, the shower did not drain which was the least of the problems. I would avoid this hotel at all cost. It’s not worth the risk. They cannot deal with simple issues and do not know how to offer an appropriate solution. Oh, and the rooms don’t look like the pictures. This is 2 star at best.
• Alejandro (2/5): - The room we got had an air conditioner but it was not cooling the room at all (outside was 95-100 degrees F). Also there was not hot water to take a shower. On top of that the room was full of mosquitos.

• Leroy (8/5): - Loved the room. Great decor. Spacious. Clean. Veranda was private and cozy. Initially finding the office on the 1st floor from the ground floor was a challenge. Just go up the stairs. Staff was helpful and friendly. They really cared. WiFi in the room was weak at times.
• dennis_shen_01 (4/5): System for checking in after 7 pm was the main problem - The location is great, the hotel room itself is very nice (although no table to be able to work from), the internet is good and the room itself was generally quiet in the evenings, which I appreciated sincerely. In addition, there was baggage storage on the day I left so I did not need to drag a suitcase around a half a day. Moreover, most of the staff members were very nice and one even went out of her way to locate ideas for cafés to work from in Florence. However, the main problem was the system for checking in for arrivals after 7 pm. There is no staff member on premises after 7 pm, so for check-in after 7 pm, one instead receives an e-mail with a code to open a box next to the main door on the floor to retrieve keys from the box to let oneself in. Unfortunately, this code for me arrived by e-mail only after I had boarded my departing flight to Florence (after which I did not have access to work e-mail). As a result, I ended up standing outside the main door of the Palazzo Galletti for around an hour as I did not have the code, with no staff members picking up their phones given outside this door, until, by coincidence, one of the staff members turned up coincidentally late at the hotel. Not the welcome I was hoping for to Florence when it was late and I was very tired. Other more minor issues include one of the staff members for breakfast was rude and the hotel itself is split in two sides of one floor but the two sides themselves do not open with the same door-key. So, I found myself locked out of the other side of the hotel (for which I did not have a key) when trying to reach the space for breakfast. There was also no power outlet adaptable to a German laptop I could locate except in the bathroom, so I needed to work from the bathroom to charge the laptop while using it.

• TakeOff_N (8/5): Nice character, convenient location - Very charming boutique style hotel. Very handy location especially for Firenze Marathon participants. The only downside was that there was no kettle in the room and the service by the staff was not top level when I asked if they could either arrange a kettle in our room, let me use the one downstears or deliver hot water in our room early in the moning. None of these wishes was possible to be fulfilled.
• John (2/5): BUYER BEWARE - We booked here on our honeymoon. The property was clearly mis-represented as a hotel causing us to lose over $370 in booking fees: 1. The listing of this hotel on the website is “Hotel D’Epoca Palazzo Galletti”. It is not clear at all from the Hotels.com listing that it is actually a bed and breakfast without amenities, cleanliness, or security. 2. The hotel staff had to call us the day of our arrival and notified us that checkin was from 3-7pm only, and could only be done after hours for ADDITIONAL FEES (not in the listing), unless we were comfortable with using a 4 digit rotary combination lockbox, like a simple bicycle lock. The key to our room was left in the door, with visible access to the other 10+ rooms. No one was available at the property to check us in or make this right upon arrival at 9pm, and no one was reachable by phone either that night, or the next morning by either us or the Hotels.com support staff. When we finally reached someone the next day, we were told that the owner does not work the weekends, and we would need to wait until Monday (after checkout!) for a resolution. 3. The room was dirty, stains on sheets, sofa, dirt on the showerhead. There are 11 different rooms represented on the website. NO ONE was available to make this right on-site. Cancellations must be over a WEEK in advance, or no refund. We were marked by the hotel as a no-show, even though we have email evidence they are lying. Hotels.com refused to help. Buyer beware.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Our room was great, with a large bathroom. The bathtub was long but narrow but was fine with the shower. On our second day, breakfast was great except they served molded slices of bread. The breakfast nook is incredibly small and the tables were so close to each other, there was little room to walk.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - This guesthouse is ideally situated for exploring the city centre of Florence. When you couple its location with the superb service on offer, and the lovely room, its an ideal place to stay while visiting.

• Robert (10/5): Great Hotel with the real Italian appeal. - This hotel is over 100 years old but has been redone but still gives you the feel of old Italy. It is located about 2 streets over from the famous church and tourist areas for shopping,eating and the fun things to do.You have to walk up 3 flights of steps to the lobby since this hotel is too old to have an elevator. The staff is great and very helpful. We had the suite which was nice with high ceiling and an awesome updated marble bathroom with nice tub and shower. We walked from the train station which was not fun with our roller bags and 90 degree weather. Bus #24 does take you from the airport area to where the hotel is located. There is a grocery store down the street that is great if you want to buy food for your stay. This hotel is not fancy like a Marriott or Sheraton like most Americans are use to,but it is a real Italian style room which was pretty cool. Continental breakfast is pretty good which is downstairs in this hotel. The only negative is walking up the 3 flights of stairs after flying many hours and you are pretty tired. I did enjoy my stay at this hotel and would stay there again. Bus #24 is right out the door of this hotel and will take you the train station area when you leave Florence.

The building was well maintained and a short walking distance to the sights. I loved the mini window in our shower and the super high windows in our room. Our fresco was unfinished but it gave the room a historic look.
• Karen (10/5): Heaven in Florence - We had a wonderful experience. The bathroom was so nice with a spacious shower...wonderful! The room had a balcony overlooking an adorable courtyard. The breakfast and service at breakfast was great!
• Jennifer (2/5): Do you love mold? - Only stayed one night in Florence and wanted something close to the Duomo. This room is indeed close to the famous cathedral but not worth the money. A/C was a joke, it was on full blast but the room easily had 20 foot ceilings, so that 1980's unit did nothing to help. We asked the front desk for a fan and they couldn't provide one. Shower was covered in mold and the floors had a layer of dirt on them. They did have a buffet breakfast available with eggs, coffee and an assortment of pastries served on a lower level of the building which also had mold in every corner. The room we had was called The Urano. If you do book this awful place, request a different room and you chance having a better experience.

• Susan (10/5): A gem! - Wonderful staff, allowed us to check in early rather than just leave luggage. Breakfast was fabulous ... full selection of fruit, yogurts, rolls, meats, cheeses and eggs. Best cappuccino ever. Attention to details and pride evident. Room comfortable clean and welcoming. Roomy for three of us. Close to la duomo, walking distance from everywhere. Would stay here again without a second thought.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Our stay - Our stay at Palazzo Galleti was OK overall. The initial experience was a bit surprising, but after the shock we settled in. The room was large, breakfast was simple, only toast and juice, coffee and tea. We didn’t know that buffet was not served during the winter months. When the tenets upstairs were walking, there was sand and paint that fell from the cieling into the bed and pillow. The floor was never washed.

The room did not have air conditioning and we slept with the windows open, I got a million nasty bug bites. The bed was comfy, pillows were so flat. The room was a bit tired overall.

The tiny breakfast room was super cute and like going back in time. We had a very spacious room with high ceilings. The breakfast staff were very attentive. BEWARE: there is no elevator. You have to bring your suitcases up the rows and rows of stairs (not great unless you travel very light!)

• Verified traveler (4/5): - This is a no frill hotel with staff available from 8 am to 7 pm and absolutely no coverage between 7 pm and 8 am. During office hours, level of assistance varied, based on the lone person's capabilities and know how. Pretty much you were on your own. Air conditioning was not adequate despite the fact it was on 24/7. Also there was a person who acted as chef to prepare breakfast, maid and a bellboy and did his best to please customers. On the check out day, requested a taxi service and the guy who was manning the office placed the taxi service on line and advised us that the taxi will be on the premises in three minutes. After 20 minutes of no taxi, had to go back to office and ask him for placing a call to taxi company. He refused to do it. His response was internet booking was the proper way to handle it. Needlessly to say I had to walk quarter mile to get to a taxi stand to get a taxi so we could get to our train station on time.

The #14 or 23 bus stops within feet of the door. Staff was pleasant and helpful. There is no elevator and we had no hot water one day and no one told us.
• Dario (10/5): We have a good time at Residenza Palazzo Galetti - The hotel is just a few blocks from the glorious Duomo of Florence. The residenza shares the palazzo with other apartments and B&Bs and is located on the first floor, up a flight of stairs. We had a large room, spotlessly clean and a nice bathroom with ample shower (no bathtub). Breakfast was included and of first quality. We'll look again for Residenza Galetti when we return to Florence.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent centrally located hotel - I have stayed in a number of less than adequate Florence hotels over the years. The Residenza is the best that I have found in the center of the city. I had a large, comfortable room with a magnificently tall ceiling (maybe 7 m high) and it was very quiet. The only problem with this establishment is that they do not allow late check-ins. You should take note of this on their webpage. I look forward to staying there often in the future.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Best B&B in Florence. - This is an absolutely beautiful B&B with huge bedroom & bathroom. The place was great and my room had a small balcony and hotel staff are very nice. Keep in mind this place has no elevator so you will have to carry luggage to the 2nd floor for those bring huge suitcases. The breakfast was simple and very nice. Location was the best and you can walk to Duomo (5 mins) and Davis statue about 10 minutes or less. I will book this place again and I am glad I picked this beautiful place than major hotels. They have only 11 room.

• Abigail (10/5): Best Hotel Room of My Europe Vacation - I love, love this B&B. The lobby that you first walk into, which is shared with a spa, is incredible. We were greeted by the sweetest woman who gave us a free suite upgrade. The suite itself was amazing. The beautiful high ceilings, the huge bath tub. Gorgeous! The mini bar was stocked and very reasonable. We missed breakfast one day, and were brought some by request. Very sweet. The wifi was fast and easy to connect to. It was a fast walk to many of the major sights in Florence. Also, very safe location. If I ever go back to Florence, I will be staying here. By far the best room I've had on this European vacation.

Only one thing dont come with a lot of luggage because there are no elevators! Breakfast was included and was wery tasty😁 If you come with a car they will suggest the best nearby place.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible service - Right from the start, we had a bad experience. At check in, the woman did not even greet us, she just said "yes" and didn't greet us in Italian or English at all. Then, the room is pretty basic and does not even have a kettle or coffee machine, and if you wish to order coffee from the hotel, they charge 4 euros for that, which is way more than it would cost in a caffe. Although, the breakfast spread and food was good, the service was non existent. There was a woman standing there when you walk into the breakfast room, but she did not greet us in the morning and actually just stood there. She didn't offer to make us coffee or boil water for tea. We weren't actually sure why she was there. The staff at this hotel are very unfriendly and make you feel very unwelcome. It feels more like self catering. Considering it's not a cheap hotel, we felt what we were offered was unacceptable and would definitely not return.

• Chels (10/5): Italian Classic - The city of Firenze makes everything magical. It was a lovely experience. FYI, there's city tax you'll have to pay at the hotel which isn't informed on Expedia website.
• Sooz (10/5): Great location / really friendly and helpful staff - We were lucky enough to be upgraded having originally booked a room with a double bed and single for we two ladies, but then decided my friend would bring her daughter so there were three of us. The hotel kindly let us use the suite which made our stay much more comfortable. The staff were also really helpful in arranging taxis and guiding us to make the most of our excellent stay.
