Guest Reviews
- Pamela (9/5): - Beds were comfortable.
Staff was friendly.
Room was reasonably clean. Parts of the shower were broken or did not work correctly.
Hose was too short.
Bottom was very slippery, no non slip mat was provided.
Coffee maker didn't work and leaked water on the dresser top.
- Stephen (8/5): Location is a little bit seedy but nothing too bad - Location was a little bit seedy but well located to get metro to anywhere you needed to go. Plenty of bars and cafes a short walk out of the seedy area Not much really.
- GAVRIELA (9/5): -
- Ambler (8/5): Good for a short stay - The location is convenient to Moulin Rouge and Sacre Couer which is why we chose it The location is on a noisy street and the restaurant across the road was noisy until after 2am.
- Nancy (7/5): -
- julianna (7/5): It was average. The staff are nice but keep expectations low with regards to the hotel itself. - The staff service was rather good! I was pleased actually. However for a Marriot property this was nothing great. I was just disappointed with the room, especially since I had just stayed in a different hotel in Paris with a far better room and even a balcony!
- Daoda2 (6/5): Last resort - It does say "Limited service property" so I guess I shouldn't complain about the lack of service but it wasn't great. On arrival no one at the front desk. In the room, the main room light didn't work. A call to the help line and I was told someone would come look at it. No one ever did. When I went out to dinner, there was someone at the desk and I explained the problem. Again was told someone would look into it and no one ever did. Room itself was fine, bed comfortable, cramped shower, Barbie Playhouse-sized table top ironing board. No creamer/milk for the coffee. You hear/feel the metro running beneath the hotel, though that's true in much of central Paris. It would bother a light sleeper.
( ich 1m86cm 85kg ) also normal gebaut
- ta (10/5): -
- Lynn (1/5): Very disappointing experience with Sonder Le Frochot - I have nothing positive to say about this hotel, except that the room was clean and the location was nice. My partner and I travelled to Paris on July 11th. On the morning of our departure, I suddenly received an email stating that we had been relocated to another Sonder property without any consultation. This alternative location was further away from the center and did not meet our expectations at all. After several emails back and forth, it was finally agreed that we could stay at the original location, but only for the first night in a cheaper room. For the following two nights, we were supposed to move to the upgraded room that we had originally booked months in advance.
However, upon arrival, we discovered that the booking had been incorrectly changed to the cheaper room for the entire stay. After more discussions, this was eventually corrected, and from the second night we stayed in the correct room. We had it confirmed in writing that we would receive a refund for the price difference. Now, nearly two months later, I still have not received any refund. I have sent many follow-up emails, and each time I only get the same empty response: “management is working on it.”
This feels like a complete scam. The communication, organization, and customer service were extremely poor. I am very disappointed with how our booking was handled. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel or booking with Sonder at all.
- Christopher (3/5): - Location Dirty and smelly

- Graham (7/5): Convenient location and fairly priced for a weekend stay - Great location and our room was quiet and out the back of the hotel.
Very close to a metro station and only a 10-15 minute walk to Montmartre.
Good size of room and bathroom was a good size. The frustrating and endless texts about checking in. Completely unnecessary as they have a reception. Despite checking in a month before the stay I still received about 20 messages in the week or two before we arrived.
Breakfast looked uninspiring and expensive but there is plenty of choice in the local street around.
Room service for cleaning was a mixed bag at best.
- Glen (10/5): Great location and price x - Fabulous location, bustling street full of bars and cafes. Close to Pigalle metro, so easy to get around. Fantastic staff, who made us feel welcome and available 24 hours a day. Nothing
- Omar (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (5/5): Disappointed! - The location was very good Breakfast was not very good and couldn’t have a hot drink in the evening. I said about this and was told “you have tea and coffee in your room” I actually don’t drink coffee and the only available tea was camomile or earl grey, which is also something we don’t drink. When we came to leave “Henry” said you can’t have breakfast because you haven’t paid for it, luckily I printed all my booking details which proved we had. But in my honest opinion I think he was rather rude how he spoke to us. I for one will NOT be staying here again and I shall say as much when I write my TripAdvisor review. On the whole it was at best rather disappointing! I have added a few examples of breakfast (if you can call it that) and tables left with dirty crockery
- Shukes118 (10/5): Really great customer service & hip location - The service at this hotel was so wonderful. We stayed in 2 rooms and had 2 children with our group. We had some high maintenance requests (I.e. putting freezer packs in the staff freezer for our milk cooler), and they were so accommodating. Went above and beyond with ease. All staff we interacted with were wonderful, but Djam was absolutely the best. The location was also super hip. Lots to do in the neighborhood, from traditional sight seeing (moulin rouge, sacre couer) to delicious restaurants, KB coffee, fun shops.
- helenr111 (4/5): Misleading photos. - I was with a friend and both rooms were similar. The beds were comfy but the facilities were basic. We both had coffee machines but only had paper cups and wooden stirrers, no spoons.
My friend's room wasn't as clean as mine. She found a crushed contact lense on the floor and the body wash holder was not clean.
In my room the curtains would not completely close and they were obviously very old. We thought our rooms were a bit shabby and in need of a makeover. The hotel is in a lovely part of Paris though, and although I would revisit the area, I would not stay there again.
Obviously, it is not made clear that you can feel and hear the metro line under the hotel( even from floor 3). We felt that the photos were misleading. We were very disappointed.
- Ciro (8/5): Good property near metro station. - Very close to metro station. Good working air conditioning.
- Chloe (7/5): Good -
- Danuta (7/5): Good -
- Chiara (6/5): Good stay for a night of two, walking distance from Pigalle, moulin rouge, montmartre. VRooms are small but for a short - The location The property needs serious renovation, the lift is faulty and water was licking from the AC on the moquette non stop. Also, the toilet was stuck to the shower, with no space to move.
- Maïa (10/5): Exceptional -
- So (2/5): - I was extremely disappointed in how old & dated the hotel was. The curtains in my room were falling off, had holes in them & they did not fully close. The bathroom was dated & all the pictures on Expedia were NOTHING like the actual hotel. Hallway carpet was old & had stains. This indeed is misrepresentation.
I have never checked out of any hotel after 1 night however I had to as I was woken up by construction at 8am which was an additional frustration.
I have stayed in a couple of Sonder hotels in the past & had no issues however this one is definitely a false version of the glossy images on Expedia.
I also asked for a refund or for at least payment via Expedia one key cash for the 2 nights I could not stay in that hotel due to the awful conditions & all I was only offered a $40 voucher. Such a waste of money & time. I do not recommend!
- Nasir (7/5): It was okay - The bathrooms were nice :) The rooms were a bit small
- Marco (8/5): Regular - The attention of the lady who was this day June 14, she was very professional, and kind. Please forgive me for not remember her name, she was from Andalusia Spain. Location
- Noorbhai (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Lack of flexibility to accommodate a booking change or refund well in advance. Fixated on policy application rather than customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Bryann (10/5): - Best decision ever to stay at Hotel Sonder
- Kimberly (10/5): - It is a really good location and the staff was amazing very friendly.
- yesmar2019 (8/5): A nice place spoilt by excessive noise. - The room was lovely and spacious, the bed was firm and comfortable, the bathroom was well appointed and the opportunity to have breakfast plus use the eating area any time of day was a great benefit. The staff were very helpful and approachable. The only issue we had was that our room facing the street was very noisy due to the bars and club where people gathered every night until at least 3 am and sometimes later. The room was not adequately soundproofed to cope, and my (good quality) earplugs didn’t always block the revellers’ whoops and screams.
- Julie (6/5): It was ok - just really basic - for the price i paid i expected more. The stuff was really nice. - The stuff was really nice. It was ok - just really basic - for the price i paid i expected more.
- Cheryl (8/5): - I’m very satisfied with the hotel, especially its close location to Place Pigalle and the metro. The lobby and dining areas were very nice and the staff were exceptional. However, when the room was warm at night, the noise from the street made it difficult to sleep with the windows open.
- Camila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela H. (10/5): - There was a small glitch with my access code and they were so quick and helpful, letting me in my room and bringing me my information quickly. The hotel was a great location to multiple subway lines.
The staff was friendly, greeting me as I came in and out, would definitely stay there again!!
- Zain (3/5): Very small hotel room with extremely bad customer service - Good location Extremely bad customer service. I was in a business meeting with work, and suddenly the fire alarm rings extremely loud. I go down to the reception and they tell me they are just testing the fire alarm. She mentions i should have received a notice. I look at my phone and see that i received a notice 2 MINUTES before the fire alarm rang. It was extrmely loud for many minutes, and i had to cancel my meeting and find another place to work outside the hotel. While my ears were now hurting after this extremely loud sound. I talked to the manager and he said he would contact me the next day with the compensation they will provide due to this situation. He never contacted me. He said he would 100% send me an email before 10pm the next day. And now its been +48 hours later and still nothing from him. Im never gonna stay in this hotel again. Also, it is ridiculous how much personal info the hotel wants from you before you are allowed to stay at their hotel. And their hotel is not even so nice, it is very small. And with bad customer service.
- Anthony (8/5): - There were bars and restaurants across this Sonder building hotel, it can be pretty noisy at night (even past midnight) this wasn’t disclosed when I booked our stay (like when I booked “Sonder: the Henry” in London, which we stayed at prior to staying at Le Frochot, when I booked our room, Sonder: The Henry in London didn’t disclose that one side of their building is facing or is beside the train tracks, it’s so noisy whenever the trains passed by, we were given ear plugs and a white noise machine, but they didn’t help much) At Le Frochot there were no ear plugs nor a white noise machine provided at all.
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Peace (8/5): Very good -
- Wain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional - The room had everything you needed, the receptionist was polite and helped as much as possible. The room was clean, beds made everyday, fresh towels when needed. There wasn’t anything to dislike about this property.
- Willy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harald (7/5): Good with some potential to grow - Wifi was extremly low and was not useable. Some things in the room need repair.
Very noisy in the night even with closed windows.
- Basel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rungtiva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (2/5): If not Sonder we will have better impression of our one-week holidays in Paris - Crowdy location, tiny room and bathroom, no view - just a wall, no cleaning service, poor breakfast for additional pay, picture of the room according to which we have chosen Sonder is a fake, too expensive for the provided service.
- Mohammed (8/5): Very good -
- Kurt (5/5): It's a good hotel for the price but they need to fix their wifi. - The location was great as it was just below Montmartre. They keep earplugs at the front counter. The staff was very nice. Having a code to get into and out of the hotel and our room made it easy to access the hotel. There is a nice "service non-stop" cafe across the street from the hotel. No wifi for three days and the the staff didn't know why. The room was a bit small and the noise outside at night after 10:00 pm was pretty loud which made it difficult to sleep. The curtains in the room were difficult to close. Even though they had a continental breakfast on offer, they didn't have any decaf coffee unfortunately.
- Michiel (5/5): Passable - the location The room was clean. But i had asked for a quiet room, but it was in the end at the street side, opposite some bars. The a/c did not work properly. i stayed in Sonder Atlanta before, which was great. Quite the opposite.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Overpriced hotel and you hear the metro - I paid for a premium room and was put on the 1st floor which was right above the metro line. As a result, every 3/4 minutes you would hear the subway and the room would vibrate a bit. For over €200 per night this should not be happening - especially when they don’t tell you before booking.
- macey (10/5): - The staff were really welcoming, the rooms were spotless and clean , the hotel itselfs was very cleans. A very safe hotel, close to the metro station
- coreyc504 (2/5): Overpriced rooms & can feel the metro - We were on the 1st floor and you could feel the metro under you - could barely sleep. We paid for a nicer room €200 per night - we shouldn’t feel the metro running every 3 minutes from our bed.
This should be listed on the website and the rooms should be heavily discounted.
- Tharawi (10/5): Nice and fun - It’s in a nice location The cleanness, was not daily
(10/5): Exceptional -
- Kostas (3/5): Poor -
- Georgie (8/5): Good and good location - Nice hotel, easy to get to. Was very noisy and the rooms aren’t like the ones in the pictures advertised they was a lot older than expected.
- Adriana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aya (1/5): Bad - It is completely different from the picture.
- James (10/5): - Staff was great. However we did have issues with our power going out.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Location is fantastic. Paris hotel rooms can be small, and while this one is, it has a good layout and there was enough room to move around and for our luggage. Staff was very nice and helpful. Bed and linens were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
- Eleanor (8/5): Authentic Paris stay in cool area! - Excellent location , shops and metro nearby and all of the restaurants felt very authentic! Room was modern and clean, and size was perfect for a city break! Some noise from the bar over the road… but if you can’t beat them join them, was a really cool jazz bar and the owner was lovely!
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- Erskine (7/5): Overall comfortable and easy to access - comfortable room and bed all fine, only issue was that the shower leaked
- Stephen (3/5): Poor -
- Gordon (10/5): Fantastic customer service from every staff member - The staff were outstanding, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble.
- Sofie (10/5): Cute little hotel in the heart of Paris - Loved this place! The area is adorable and very close to Montmarte. Plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. The room is not so big, but I think that is standard for Paris. It had everything we needed and a very comfy bed. Also a very quiet location (we lived on the 4th floor) and lastly, very cool with a passcode to the door instead of key. Would definitely use Sonder again, both in Paris and other cities!
- Lynasia Money (10/5): - The staff at the hotel is extremely accommodating and kind. The croissants set out for guests, free water, clean rooms, and so much more made our first stay in Paris smooth and comfortable.
- Yevheniia (7/5): Good - Located in a good area, clean, modern. Poor and expensive breakfast. Do not recommend to buy breakfasts.
- Steph (8/5): Great value accommodation. - Great value accommodation and lovely staff. Fast and easy check in. Bit of a walk to the popular attractions.
- Ricardo (5/5): Passable - Friendly staff, close to the metro and Main Street. Limited but good breakfast. Cleanliness of the room and bathroom, old carpet and rusty shower head. The room vibrates with the metro, would not recommend staying on the first floor.
- Rebecca (5/5): Passable - Location was great, near metro and was perfect
The staff were helpful The bedding had a red mark on it...
The electrics kept tripping, no offer of any reimbursement
For the price point expected better.
- Miguel (10/5): Excellent. Only place I stay when in Paris. - Great location. Can be a bit noisy but if you want quiet don’t stay in Pigalle!
- Roxana (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly and nice. The elevator, the room and the bathroom were small but that’s something common for the price point. The carpet in the room had some stains.
- Jonah (10/5): - We enjoyed 4 days at the hotel that was in a perfect location for eating great food and going to nice bars as well as being in walking distance from all the things we needed and wanted to see. The hotel condition was great and the staff were extremely helpful with everything we needed. We would definitely return here!
- Orlaith (7/5): Good - Amazing location - great bars/restaurants on hotel’s doorstep. Very close to metro for getting around the city. Bed very comfortable, room was a good size (superior queen room). Reception staff friendly It would be worth asking for a room overlooking the courtyard rather than the street. Originally we had a room with a balcony onto the street, likely would have been very noisy at night as it’s a busy street. We had to move rooms due to a plumping issue and the second room was very comfortable and quiet. Aircon doesn’t work too well so we needed to keep the window open (again would have been an issue if we were on the street side of the hotel).
Fire alarm went off twice early in the morning. It wasn’t noticeable that housekeeping had visited the room (bed barely made etc). Perhaps a lack of attention to detail in general - but can’t fault it for a weekend break given the positives such as the location & comfy room
- Smith (9/5): Lovely place to stay for a short trip. - Staff were friendly on arrival, gave plenty of information about the area we were staying in, let us leave our bags in storage till check in and delivered to the room ready for when we got back. Tv in room was a smart tv meaning we could use Netflix, disneyplus ex. It did get a little hot at night and no option to turn radiators off.
- Rachel (8/5): - Nice clean place and staff were friendly and helpful. Only slight drawback is noisy bars across the street but these were not too loud from inside the room.
- Josef (7/5): In case that we will visit Paris again, your Stay is one of options. - Communication was very good and helpful !
- Patrick (10/5): - Ndieme was a great person and helped me a lot
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would not choose again - Carpet stained, chair stained, thin walls so we could hear all our neighbors were doing, loud outside
- Menna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (8/5): - The hotel is a on a street with many bars so it’s pretty loud at night.
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and very friendly staff.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judit (8/5): Compact and practical, perfect if you stay only for sleeping and showering - The room is nice and comfortable. The hotel is extremely small and the breakfast was not available during my stay - they refund some money, but they notified me only a day earlier, which was very inconvenient, breakfast is always important if you travel for business as you dont have time to sit in cafes and wait for your order. Staff is extremely helpful. The street is noisy, but the room was quiet. There was no heating at all (in January), I would have loved some, but the room was not cold.
- Giorgia (6/5): - The only good thing of this property was teh location and the friendly staff at the reception. Housekeeping service very poor. 1. They did not change the towel / When making up the bed, they left the pillows on the floor /
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
