Misled/fraud. - views facing old buildings despite previous request -dated and damaged spa. Tiny swimming with cameras in top. Not safe for women’s privacy. -dry sauna not working -mould in shower -steep small dangerous roads to town centre (20 minutes )due to ongoing inconsiderate fast and heavy traffic. Positives - “Droni”make tall receptionist and cleaning lady nice, efficient and kind. -nice breakfast but repetitive and not good bread, meat or juices. -laid back and art deco hotel.
N5690YQnancyd (10/5): Recommend for a great stay - The Antea was a pleasant surprise. Location is incredible in the heart of the Sultahnamet. The street in front of the hotel is not a thru street so traffic noise is minimized. The staff are incredible- pleasant, efficient and smiling. I was impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the hotel. It is now my go to when I visit Istanbul .

AMG247 (8/5): Great Location Great Female staff 👏 - This hotel is in a perfect location for Istanbul! The lady "Hemet" in reception. the young beautiful lady at Breakfast "Diogo" plus the housekeeping lady make this hotel WORTH IT! These 3 ladies are GEMS! The rooms are dated but comfortable for example the curtains don't fit the windows, however it's in a quiet location with lovely bathroom great shower comfy bed, just small and dated. The breakfast is OK lots of choice but no beans; no fried eggs, unusual cereals but lots & lots of fresh salads, fruits, breads and lots to drink hot or cold. Close to trams; Bazaars; Hystoric sites; GREAT LOCATION 👍🏾

I recommend going to Hanzade terrace restaurant which is so close to the hotel which is well priced, awesome food and a spectacular view of Istanbul.

Sandro (8/5): - They had an issue the first day of our stay, but fixed it right away. Offered us transportation to the airport for the inconvenience. Staff very nice. Best of the hotel is staff and location. Our room was very very small. Worst was breakfast. EXPEDIA, however, sucks.
Verified traveler (2/5): Very poor - Room was mouldy and damp. Staff were rude and almost offensively unhelpful. Fobbed off when tried to raise concerns about the room. Spa mostly didn’t work- sauna and steam room didn’t work. When discussed with reception was told they did- clearly didn’t as it was around 30 degrees in the sauna and there was no steam or heat in the steam room. Breakfast was poor and basic. When raised further concerns was told by staff that should have complained sooner- we had tried to do but was told to wait until after the weekend morning. The receptionist told us it was not possible to give a refund and then when we asked for the manager. The manager was in a meeting but the receptionist didn’t know where or when they would be back. The receptionist then gave me the number to call and it didn’t connect or ring. The staff told me that it was impossible to give a refund and needed to contact hotels.com. Contacted hotels.com who said that we needed to contact the reception of the hotel. Went round in circles re this for a day. Been promised a partial refund. But yet to hear back from hotels.com if this will actually happen

La Chambre un peu petite pour 3 personnes avec valise ,mais le 3 eme lit ,est un vrai lit et non un lit d’appoint.L’hotel est calme et le personnel a l’écoute et toujours prêt à répondre aux attentes des clients Rien a redire sur le Spa et ses équipements Sainte Sophie , la citerne Basilique et la mosquée Bleue sont à 400m ,le grand Bazard a 500m,il n’y a que le Bazard Égyptien qui ce trouve à 20 min à pied ou alors à 10 min en tram Nous étions là pour visiter,donc cette établissement est idéalement placé et nous avons été agréablement surpris par tous ce que j’ai écrit plus haut.

Within walking distance of everything you want to see and visit in Istanbul. We loved our stay and will be going back again. Highly recommend for families with children.

One negative thing is that I booked a room with city view and I got a window facing a wall.

Laura (8/5): - Overall a great stay. The hotel is nice and in a convenience location, staff is helpful and courteous. I didn’t get to use the Hamam and gym but it looked nice. My only complaint is that the blankets on the bed are small so for the double it’s difficult to share.

Very clean, excellent and safe location a few min walk from the Mosques and bazaar as well as a main strip with restaurants, shops, salons, Shisha lounges etc. definitely try the Ortaklar restaurant across the road it’s amazing especially the hummus! Breakfast could have more variety, rooms are a little small but cosy, gym is basic, and can get noisy as it’s so central. Overall loved the stay though and the benefits far outweigh the criticism.

Tatiana (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Very close to historic old city, main attractions within walking distance, many options for coffee, dining. Just know, standard rooms are pretty small, which is fine if you are coming for just a short visit. We came for 2 weeks and had to upgrade to a larger room. Also know, all rooms have a very small closet and no drawers to put clothes away (we had to use third bed in our room for that), which is ok for a short stay. Bathrooms were kind of small, but comfy with good hot shower, and water pressure, no problems with plumbing at all. Rooms and hotel are pretty clean, and cleaning ladies were wonderful and very sweet! Breakfast buffet was pretty good, nice coffee machine with all different options, eggs, cereal, salads, cheeses and local cold cuts, fruits, breads and pastries, nuts, deserts, juices. Hotel has a small, basic gym, small pool, sauna, and a steam room that we used. Overall, pleasant stay at the hotel, thank you!

878mohammedi (10/5): One week in istanbul - Stayed at this hotel with a family of 5. Check in smooth with rooms give opposite each other which was fine. Room sizes a little small but ok with a large bathroom to make up the space so all good. Yousuf at the front desk along with Qadeer we’re amazing. Special shout out to Fateh who was the winner in terms of great service. Please give this guy a pay rise. Only disappointment part of the device was the blonde lady at reception who never smiled once throughout the whole week. Hotel i would highly recommend in a quite residential district. Blu mosque walking distance up a slight hill so not good for elderly people.

There is no restaurant, the spa facilities were not working, while there is a hammam, massage facilities etc, there is no spa attendants. The internet was continually cutting out, & as a business traveler, this was not ideal. I was also given a twin room, which as an solo adult traveler, not the most comfortable. The room itself was very dark, especially the bathroom.

The location was excellent few minutes walk away from blue mosque and grandbazar. We have saved a lot on Taxi fare as everything was near, we didn't need to travel much with taxi. I will booking it again soon..thanks to all the staff great job keep it up!
Rizwan (4/5): - Cost effective with a tiny pool and gym. Breakfast was poor and took too long serving each person individually. No pastries or fresh honey dripping from a honey comb like other hotels. Front desk limited in English speakers and unable to understand much. Room was cleaned however the glasses and cups were just turned over with dry tea and dirt bits easily visible. Location was amazing. Worth a stay for the price but don’t expect too much from the hotel.

Verified traveler (6/5): Gorgeous Hotel... Except for the Rooms... - The hotel is gorgeous. The restaurant is beautiful and delicious. The hamam and all of the other facilities are wonderful. It's a wonderful hotel.. Except for the rooms, which seem to be held over from the 1970s. Many Turkish hotels suffer this condition. Gorgeous hotels, outdated rooms. So I can't recommend it for the price listed, there are other better options, even on the exact same block. But it's not awful, just not as good as it should be. With a room renovation, it would be amazing. Everything else is so good. Shout-out also to the manager who chased us to the sidewalk after we checked out and said "Give us a 5-star review", as a demand, not a question, with the meanest look possible... Or... what? What happens exactly if we don't?! So anyway, no, angry manager lady, it's not a 5 star review. And threatening us won't get you one. But it's a nice hotel and the other service staff were wonderful and very helpful.

HJH786 (2/5): Wooooorst hotel ever - We booked for 8 nights and after the first night we had to go to other cities which was not planned earlier so the reception guy saw us leaving he asked if it’s check out I clearly said no I’ll be back tomorrow some of our stuff kept inside the room so when we came back I went to the room at 2AM saw ***** two ladies were sleeping in our bed *** *** after asking they said we gave your room to some one else whhhaaaatttt the helll how you can do this ?????? I’ve been been traveling the world but never had worst experience then this, after what happened with me couldn’t find a room at 2 AM in the morning I had to go to another hotel and stayed there then asked for refund about what happened with me they were very bad and rude imagine this ????? this is my story with them and now read carefully if you love your money:- 1- rooms are very small that two adults will be hitting each other while coming and going this is in their biggest room and if you requested for baby crib so the only place to sit is in the toilet. No space at aaaaalllllll. 2- AC duct are connected some how to the kitchen area so while we were sleeping there at 2AM smells of food started to come inside the room and we couldn’t sleep. 3- Bad smell in the lobby it feels like it’s been ages for the hotel. So save your money you can find better places to stay in this money And think about some other person who was staying in your room has your key and enter your room at night what’s your feeling about it ......... don’t go and don’t waste your money

241sk (6/5): Location is the main attraction.. - So this may be in depth but here goes.. Pros: LOCATION!! Great location, only a five min walk to hagia sophia and blue mosque.. right next to the 'strip' as I called it whete you have many restaurants and cafes.. for that alone, this hotel is worth a stay.. Clean.. bathroom was cleaned daily along with the room.. Staff.. friendly and polite.. always helpful and approachable.. Breakfast.. was decent, nice and hot.. bit limited on selection but enough to start your day.. Cons: Dated rooms.. not much more I can say, bit old fashioned really.. tv was in a mirror and couldn't see the mirror properly because of it.. lighting was poor and my room window was facing a wall.. Noise.. thin walls and could hear every thud and conversation going on nearby.. also could hear people walking on the floor above so this wasn't great Spa.. out of order! The hotel did arrange for us to be able to go to the sister hotel which was 5 mins drive away but just a bit of a pain really.. You then have a daily routine with a taxi driver trying to take money off you even though the hotel is paying All in all.. purely for the location, it's worth the stay as I didn't have to use a taxi once for my entire visit to get to anywhere.. but if you looking for all the other luxuries then you will struggle

On the positive side, great location, very little noise, easy access to trams, buses and restaurants, On the negative side, rooms small and not particularly clean, our bed had torn sheets, decoration is very tired, wallpaper ripped and stained, carpets have seen much better days. Breakfast is, by Turkish standards quite poor, not even proper coffee with breakfast. For the price paid it is disappointing, we had paid in advance and had a reservation clearly stating no payment required, yet they still tried to charge us again

They offered me the tiniest and darkest room you could imagine. I asked to be moved and they offered me a room not much bigger with two beds (I hate sleeping n a single bed and having a spare bed in the room). They said all the rooms were the same and they had nothing else to offer me. It was horrid, Not a feeling of a clean room and shabby with it. Breakfast was actually very nice with a great selection. Won't go back that's for sure!
mun87k (8/5): Brilliant Location, Great Staff, - Hotel Antea is a perfectly located hotel in the heart of Istanbul Old city. It is 5 minutes from the main Sultanahmet area for the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace. The hotel was clean and welcoming. The reception staff are very good at speaking English and helpful. There is also a guest relations (concierge) who was very helpful with booking hotel transfers to the airport for us. The rooms are a bit small, and the air conditioning in room 1404 was not placed correctly, so didnt leave the room very cool. No iron in the room, but this can be requested.The TV is inbuilt into the mirror in the room, which has tinted effect to it, s not ideal to use for makeup! We were only given one key per room, but additional keys can be requested. There are safes in the room, but we found that our one had been left locked by the previous guests, so could not be accessed. The hotel also has pool/spa facialites, however these need to be switiched on by request. The first day we went down, to find that neither, the steam room or sauna was on. The steam room was then out of service the next day. The hammam area was very good and nice opportunity to experience this within the hotel. The breakfast is between 7 am - 10:30. Limited hot food options and it does not detail what the food is, for example one day they had warm pain au chocolates next to the scrambled eggs and sausages, at first I thought the pastry was savoury too but when trying it it was chocolate! The tea/coffee machine was a bit of hit and miss as sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. They did have fresh pots of turkish tea, coffee and milk on hot plates. But on one day we found the tea to be cold. This put us off for the rest of the trip! Overall great little find of hotel, ideally located from main area and lots of nice restaurants located all around so very convenient.

Close to train station, shops, and tourist attractions. Tip: Uber did not drive to the hotel. We had to take a taxi to get to the hotel. There's another hotel with a similar name -palace. Make sure you tell them its Antea Hotel.

istanbulitis (10/5): One of the best locations in old city Istanbul - Very well located like 5 minutes from the main street where you will find most of the monumental attractions: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazzar, etc. Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean, and good breakfast. Just in front of the newly discovered Cistern. We would definitely stay here for our next visit.

Unfortunately my room was close to the elevator, so It’s not completely calm and due to noise from the floor, running water pipes and air condition. The breakfast was all right. WiFi worked great. miledrizk (10/5): perfect - Nice architecture, calm and nice neighborhood. less than 10 minutes walking from Hagia Sophia. The staff is professional, nice and very helpful. Food is delicious, lots of variation, and the breakfast is open until 10:30 AM which is good for people who want to stay late at night and cannot wake up early. Rooms are comfortable, and always clean. Free WiFi with good speed. I recommend it for anyone who's thinking to visit this part of Istanbul.

Zafrin (8/5): - I booked 3 rooms at Antea Hotel for 5 nights. The rooms were bit small compared to other hotels but overall it was kept nice and clean. The staff were simply amazing, always smiling and greeting you. They are also very accommodating. If you are traveling with kids than I suggest Antea hotel as the location is great. Grand bazar is about 10 minutes walk, mosques are also 10 minutes walk the opposite direction. Local restaurants and shops are 3 minutes away, open until late nights. If I ever go back and visit Istanbul, I would definitely stay at Antea Hotel again.

Mohannad (2/5): Strongly not recommended - I stayed at this hotel 4 nights, in Sep. 2016 1- The rooms were very tight and not comfortable with very poor view. 2- The bathroom was very wet. 3- The breakfast was very poor and not tasty. 4. There is only 1 elevator in the hotel, and sometimes not working properly. 5- The breakfast staff were not professionals, and they were dealing with the tourists by bad way. 6- The reception staff were ok, but I saw them smoking in their place and they were trying to hide the cigarette under the desk.

Ahmad Shah Hussaini (10/5): Great experience... sweet memories... - We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. And it was was such a great experience. The location is superb, easily accesible to all tourist attraction points. All hotel staffs are so friendly and very helpfull. I would give full 5 out of 5 stars for the customer service. The facility for sauna, steam bath and hamam was great. The attending staff for the facility was very friendly and such a nice lady. Definitely will stay in this hotel again if i'll visit istanbul in near future. Thank you so much and my appreciation to all hotel staffs for making my holiday in istanbul such a great experience and sweet memories.

James (2/5): Good stay, spoilt by theft from our room. - We chose this hotel because of it's location and good reviews and recommended it to other friends who were joiningu us from the UK and USA. The rooms although small are perferctly comfortable and well appointed. On the negative side, the breakfast was not very appealing for the UK/USA pallet and dishes were not replenished frequently enough [kept having to ask], also the guest services woman would patrol the breakfast room trying to get you to book tours. My main problem with the hotel was after checking out and moving to our second hotel in Istanbul, I discovered that I had left a duty free bag with 2 cartons of cigarettes under the dresser. I called the hotel the next morning to say that I would come by to pick them up, but was told that housekeeping had not found them. I know for a fact that I left them there and having visited thousands of hotels as part of my job as a flight attendant, I know that housekeeping staff do not throw out bags without checking the contents first, so can only assume that these were taken by the staff. Such a pity, as we had met so many honest, genuine and helpful Turkish people during our visit.
