- HugoW_12 (4/5): Disappointing - We have booked this through Lastminute.com. I have paid more than £ 5,000 for 9 nights at this Hotel and flight to and from London Gatwick. The Hotel was described as '5 Star' by Lastminute.com. It became immediately evident upon arrival that this Hotel was anything but 5 Star. The room [room 101] was tiny with no shelves or drawers to put clothes, and when we opened the bathroom door, there was such a terrible stench coming out, that we nearly threw up. We asked the Hotel whether they have any other rooms available, they showed us two more rooms, but unfortunatley the one room that would have been suitable was not available to for the whole duration of our stay, and moving rooms halfway through out stay was out of the question. As we had not yet unpacked, we decided to look for a different Hotel, which we knew was going to be difficult, to find a Hotel at such short notice who could accommodate us for 9 nights, particularly since this also included New Year's eve and New Year's day. Luckily we did find a suitable Hotel, they even sent a limo and driver to collect us. The new Hotel cost us an other £ 3,500 for the 9 nights, but was absolutely uncomparable to the GLK Premier Regency Suites. So we left the GLK without having unpacked, although we had prepaid for 9 nights, I just could not possbily subject my wife to such a room.
- Carol (6/5): - Positives were helpful staff, good breakfast, attractive bedroom. Negatives were cramped breakfast room and bathtub with nonworking jacuzzi that was difficult to get into. Also, though not the fault of the hotel, the transfer from the airport I ordered through the hotel was chaotic and not what I envisioned. A taxi would have been easier and probably cost the same or less.
- Fearless767914 (8/5): Great location for sightseeing and bars & restaurants. - Arrived earlier than anticipated so was in room on 1st floor, room was fine with shower, we had expected a room with a view when we moved rooms the next day, unfortunately another brick wall, very noisy from guests upstairs, breakfast very cramped and not a lot of choice. All staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
- Timothy (10/5): - Didn’t use the spa. Let me add this. Upon arrival, we were met by the desk manager. He made us feel as though we were his only guest. I’ve never quite experienced such concern for my welfare. The hotel itself, is an elegant, older building . It is perfectly cleaned and maintained. The desk manager’s level of concern for us was also displayed in every employee from the manager down to the cleaning lady! After our check out, the breakfast waiter offered to serve us coffee while we waited for our airport transport. When it arrived, he helped load our baggage! We really hated to leave!

- Kelly (8/5): - For the price, this is a GREAT hotel. It’s a 5 minute walk to sultanhmet square and a 5 minute walk to the Bosphorus river. It’s farther from the bridge, spice market and grand bazaar but still walkable (20-35 min walk). It’s down a cute cobblestone street with several restaurants, shops, and other hotels. The area is very safe and the room is clean. The hotel staff was excellent! They were all so helpful and answered all of my questions. The hotel also has a gym which I used one time. It’s very small with limited equipment (elliptical, bike, treadmill, bench, weights up to 10kg). It was not a great gym but the fact that the hotel even had a gym was a plus. The hotel also has a small yet nice balcony looking towards the river, which was unused every time I went up there. It was a great place to read and have some tea. Downsides: The room was spacious but it was older with some rusted areas in the bathroom. The bed and pillows were stiff and the comforter was kind of scratchy. The AC was in the main area with the tv so that area got super cold but the bedroom stayed warm (not hot though). Overall, I would stay here again for the price. The highlights were the staff and location - both made my stay worth it despite the downsides.

- 98sepehrh (10/5): A great place to stay in Istanbul, close to everything, and very helpful staff - We wanted to just stay in Istanbul for 2 weeks to get to know the city, by walking around, taking their superb public transport (ferry, tram, metro - not once used an uber). This hotel's location and awesome customer service from the manager, and all staff were fabulous. The location is truly a few minutes from the major mosques you will want to see, Topkapi Palace and the Cisterns and both the main bazar and the Egyptian (Spice bazar) all within easy walking distance. We took the ferry twice to the Asian side with ease and it costs nothing compared to the U.S. I was very impressed with this great country with one, if not the most beautiful cities in the world, Istanbul. The people at this hotel such as Huseyn and Adam and Emir and Ali, Aisha were the most friendly and kind people and very helpful and informative. Loved the small scale of this wonderful hotel. Special thanks to the thoughtful manager Mr. Hudaverdi that was always available to assist in anyway possible. We really enjoyed this trip because of where we stayed.

- Eugenio (6/5): - Our first room had a few issues with the shower and tub. One of the chairs had a broken wheel. The staff was great in moving us but the second room also had multiple serious cleanliness issues that then needed to be resolved. It really was a first night in town nightmare. The staff was great and we really appreciate them but the hotel obviously needs some maintenance and sprucing up. You can actually see they are trying to do this with some new tables in the kitchen area that were installed during our stay. The bed was adequately comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. As part of making up the chaos to us free breakfast was offered which was very nice and a reason we ended up staying. The breakfast was fine. Nothing to write home about. Overall the area the hotel is in is fine. Located very close to the key sites. We felt safe but the guys on the street constantly trying to get you to eat at their mediocre and overpriced restaurants located on that street got old. We likely would stay in either the Karikoy or Kadikoy neighborhood next time where the food and drink prices are more reasonable and the food in general is more authentic and of a better quality.

- ayzahi (10/5): Friendly Staff and a Pleasant Stay - An amazing and comfortable stay at the GLK Regency with brilliant service from all staff. Special thanks to Huseyin, Ali, Adem and Emir for being so helpful and kind throughout our time there. They were so accommodating for our 2 and half year old son and made every effort to make sure we had everything we needed. The superior room was nice and big, perfect space for our little one! The hotel is in a nice location on a lively street with many mini supermarkets and restaurants and a very short walk to the blue mosque. Overall a wonderful and pleasant stay here.
- WENDY (8/5): - The good: location, its close to all the main touristy places in Istanbul. It has a variety of restaurants close by (be mindful that the reviews on most of the restaurants in Istanbul aren't reliable, thought). The staff was very nice, specially the lady in the cafeteria and the cleaning staff. The rooms were spacious and clean, overall quiet considering the location. The not so good: a lot of sellers in this area, everytime we walked to or from our hotel you get swarmed by sellers, so if this isn't your thing, choose a quieter location. The last day, I told the front desk that we would be staying until the noon check-out time, he didn't tell the cleaning staff, they waiting in the staircase until we left, which was an awkward sitution. We almost felt pressured to go.
- Thomas (10/5): 100% recommendation - Any great vacation starts with the Comfort and Hotel that you are staying in and this hotel was absolutely wonderful. From Adam to Hussein to Ali to the chef to the lovely young lady who serviced our room. Gracious is the first word out of my mouth. In terms of the location, this is exactly what I was looking for. Has a great neighborhood feel including the many restaurants stores and a great vantage point to see many of the attractions. 100% recommendation
- Nae (8/5): - Good hotel in the Sultanahmed area, conveniently close to the square and its main attractions. Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. The only negatives were the TV which didn't work (they offered to move us to a different room, but TV wasn't that important to us, so we declined) and the furniture in the room (a bit outdated, old infrastructure). I would certainly recommend staying here if those things are not a bother to you, we certainly had a great time and were thankful to the staff for it.

- Martyn J (4/5): Mixed feelings - I booked this hotel because I thought it was luxury. There was some elements that felt like it was and others that didn’t. My first room, the heating/air con didn’t work, the lamp had tape where the switch was suppose to be, the kick board to the bath was sticking out, the mini bar didn’t have what was specified on the list, the vanity mirror was missing and there was dried bird poo on the balcony when I arrived. Other things did feel more luxurious or premium/premier. I spoke the the gentleman on the front desk and he changed my room for my second night. This room was in much better condition. The gym was basic and there wasn’t any water or towels available. Breakfast was limited in choice. I had 20% off food and drink so on my last night decided I would eat at the hotel but was told that there was no cook that day so it wasn’t possible. The staff were very friendly. I booked in for a reflexology massage, I've had lots of these but this was different. I was told to lie face down. I normally find them relaxing but I had to support my legs up because I was face down. It was a nice massage but wasn’t like any reflexology I’ve ever had

The only thing that could have been better was if the TV was working so that it could have occupied the children. - Ramiz (10/5): A gem - What makes this hotel a gem is by far the service! Mister Ali at reception is the nicest human being you will ever meet. He tries to make your stay pretty much perfect by guiding you where to visit, eat etc. he is a wealth of knowledge that a tourist can definitely appreciate. I highly recommend staying here. I do think booking through their website is more helpful if you need a refund etc if you are staying one or two nights less. We stayed one night less due to an emergency and hotels.com was not able to give the refund for the night. This is not the hotels fault by any means, but rather the booking agency.

The only thing we were not happy about, they booked a taxi for us airport quoting around 1600tl but the taxi was 2500tl !!! We know this not the hotels issue but feel they should be made aware. Great hotel 🏨
- Andrew (8/5): - The GLK is a nice facility, and the staff is wonderful, from the desk agents to the cleaning staff. It is a narrow and tall building, and the stairs are really steep, so you will probably take the lift. The breakfast buffet is very good, and includes a samovar with genuine Turkish Rize tea. The rooms and interior look a bit worn, so I won't give my review a 5 ✬ rating, but 4 1/2 ✬ would be correct. Note: it is a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet tram station. Add that time and more to your outings. Warning: the restaurants on the street facing the hotel are all very high price and tourist-oriented. I do not know where you can find local restaurants in the Sultanahmet District (maybe there are none).

- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent staff - We paid for a bigger room as we were staying a few nights. The room was lovely. There were black out curtains on the windows, the bed large and comfortable. The duvet, however, wasn't as big as the bed! The en suite was a little tired looking, and the hair dryer low-powered. The staff are exceptional, very helpful. We had breakfast on 3 mornings, but stopped when we realised we were being charged the full continental breakfast price for an orange juice and a croissant.

We booked a room with a Queen OR Two Twin beds and front desk insisted only Queen bed. When I showed him our booking he reluctantly added a sofa sleeper to the room. Seemed very unhappy to do that. Petty front desk with no sense of hospitality. The man looked depressed to be there, TBH. The rooms are not clean (dusty). The hotel is small and old (not in the charming sense). Tiny elevator that fits two or three people. Overpriced and subpar restaurant. Restaurant staff speaks very poor english. Will just nod when you ask for something, but have no idea what you are saying. Just go out for breakfast down the street (better value and quality). Noisy at night. Employees chatter all night and blaring fire alarm goes off at 2 AM for 20 minutes. The walls are thin. Book somewhere else if you want my advice. This hotel was the lowlight of our trip, that was otherwise a wonderful trip, to Turkiye.
- Tatyana (8/5): Cute boutique hotel - We enjoyed our stay at the hotel . I met my parents in Istanbul and we all stayed at the hotel . The rooms were spacious, nice and super clean . Breakfast was in a charming area and always had a great variety. The hotel is located in the center of the old city and minutes walk to many historic sites. My only comment is that the hair dryer in the bathroom is so outdated so if you use one bring it with you .

Definitely not a 5-star hotel, price to value in my opinion bit high. However, if you there just to spend few nights, not a bad choice as it's close to the old city sightseeing.

The neighborhood is very safe with plenty of eating and shopping options. It is very walkable to all the major sights in historic Istanbul. Highly recommended for the price.

Clean, comfortable and amazingly quit given its central location. Good breakfast. All of the staff were helpful, but especially Ali A and Hussain, who were just amazing. HUGE thanks to Ali and Hussain for making our stay so lovely!
