Guest Reviews
- Cristiano (4/5): - This hotel is advertised as 4 stars but it barely feels like a 3 star. The lobby smells like smoke, staff barely speaks English, beds are rock solid, and tap water was brown (due to roadworks apparently). Venue looks dated, old, and shifty.
- douglasandgreen (2/5): Tired old and cold - Avoid awful place, room was very cold, only 2 sockets, 1 at room door enterence and the other in the bathroom luckily we brought 3m charging cables, room very dated and not worth the charge, very very dim room at night, stayed on 5th floor suite, bed super uncomfortable did our backs in, no shower holder over the bath to have a shower have to hold it by hand, on last 2 days card for lift would not work had to climb stairs to the 5th floor, we are in our 60s just not acceptable, road works outside turned on bath taps murcky brown water came out, no communication from reception either they was playing on their phone or asleep no good morning or good evening, breakfast yes had choice but bland and just about Luke warm and on day of leaving check out was 12 but told had to leave by 11, if you do go here be aware that the lift breaks down often and it's very slow and old, DEFO WILL NOT BE BACK
- Douglas (2/5): Awful place - Choice but mediocre nothing wow at all
- GazzaMac67 (2/5): Don't book this hotel - I can't find much nice to say about this hotel. Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel 2 at best. The reception guy was rude. The shower in the first room flooded. Towels were crispy and hard. The electrics were exposed from the wall socket. The carpet on the stairs were loose and dangerous. The elevator was broken. The AC didn't work. Very poor. Avoid.
- Patricia (10/5): - I enjoyed the breakfast there. Very helpful front desk. Oh. The elevator was broken. You can hear the drunks yelling during the night. I stayed at the 3rd floor.
- KARA (10/5): - This is a great spot right in the heart of the old town. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The breakfast was fantastic, the service was all great, and I’ve probably never seen a cleaner bathtub. The only caveat was the parking which was inconvenient, but actually worked out quite well. I can’t complain!
- Douglas Donald (6/5): - The elevator was not working for the 4 nights we were in the room. We had to climb 5 floors to our room. We were offered another sister hotel, with a paid cab but preferred our location. Only compensation was a bottle of champagne and 2 free beers.
- Noppadon (10/5): - Good location.
- Vahid (6/5): - The location is great with everything within easy reach. Breakfast was also great, with a good variety of options, and the staff were helpful when approached, though not particularly friendly or welcoming.
Check-in was the biggest letdown. While the lady at the reception was polite, it was frustrating to wait such a long time—especially at 9:30 PM with a child—while she trained a new staff member on how to use the booking system, process payments, etc. We had to eventually speak up and let her know we had been waiting too long and needed to settle in.
The room itself was okay, but cleanliness was an issue. The bathroom, in particular, was not up to standard—we found hairs in several places, which was disappointing.
Also worth noting: if your room faces the street, expect a noisy night. Teenagers were shouting and making noise well past midnight, making sleep difficult. Lastly, it would be nice if the hotel provided at least a bottle or two of water in the fridge—just some basic touches that make a stay more comfortable.
- Shan Yuan (10/5): - Very well place!
- Shruti (8/5): - Nice hotel, very comfortable and friendly staff.
Breakfast options were good.
- Jimmy Charles (10/5): - Very nice property that is convenient to everything.
- Nicky (8/5): - Lovely small traditional hotel in fantastic central location. Stayed for 2 nights which coincided with the Xmas market opening on our first night. Rooms were nicely presented and v clean. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable and no hot water on Monday morning at 8.30. May have been a busy morning? Think the hotel was fully booked on the Saturday night anyway.
Would def stay again. Good selection of cooked and continental breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. Decent breakfast. Did not get a friendly impression from the staff. Although I had asked for a double bed, my room came with two single beds. This could have been acceptable if they at least had provided a double duvet, however, they even refused to do so.
- Jaime (10/5): - Wonderful! No problems
- Andrei (4/5): Not recommended - No parking on site, you have to pay 26 euro for the night to a different hotel. The AC was not working, very hot in the room. Breakfast was poor and not so much of variety.
- Jana (6/5): - Hotel is in good location - short walk to Old Town Square but also easy access to mall and transportation. Facility needs updating. Carpet is very old and shower had leak to the hallway and the door had water damage so it’s an ongoing issue in this room. If I stayed longer I would ask for new room due to possible mold. Staff were nice and attentive. Decent breakfast as well.
- clashizzle (10/5): Ideal Location, Rooms, + Breakfast! - I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Prague with my family. I have no complaints about my experience; the location is perfect and within walking distance to major attractions. We only took transit to get to the castle grounds because we knew there would be a lot of walking that day. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom also appeared to be newly renovated. Perhaps what stood out to me the most was the breakfast buffet. I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere that provides such ample selection, which is especially important considering my gluten and dairy free diet. I was able to fill up every morning with a delicious array of breakfast foods. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again on my next visit!
- Daniel (10/5): Perfect location and hotel - Great stay, we were very happy with it. Clean hotel and very friendly staff.
- M (10/5): Satisfied travellers - The reception staff member went out of her way to please and she did.
- Alejandro (8/5): - Great location in old town, nice rooms sizes, nice bed and clean bathroom, breakfast has a lot of variety with warm and cold options. Staff was very friendly. Room facing Main Street and people walk and scream at nights.
- Linda Ann (8/5): - Hotel in excellent location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast. Would recommend this hotel.
- Artur (10/5): - It is closed to downtown, safety, receptionist is very nice and helpful
- Fan (10/5): - excellent location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and fairly priced - Good location, quite central to the city centre. The room was clean and tidy in an art deco style.
Friendly staff but you had to ask for espresso as not offered however everyone seemed to know this except us.
Good continental breakfast choice, overall a fair price for the hotel
- Edson (6/5): - Nice location and staff. Cleaning could be better. OK breakfast. A good 3 star well located.
- benclark17 (6/5): Good location, but has its flaws - The hotel itself was nice, it was clean, well presented, and in a good location. Beds were comfortable, room was large and spacious. However, our room did not have curtains that blocked out light, and when we brought it up they said they were broken and there were no other rooms available to switch. With a lampost right outside our window on the 1st floor, we had light shining in all night and this made sleeping quite difficult. The walls are also extremely thin, especially to the street outside, so we could hear every conversation outside, which again made sleeping more difficult. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but there were certainly some let downs too.
- BETH (10/5): Quaint hotel in a perfect location. - Wonderful stay. We were in room 43. Lovely view with a HUGE private patio that in the summer would be perfect for wine at sunset. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Good breakfast with hot and cold foods. Carolina at the front desk was a pleasure to talk with. Very friendly and helpful. The shower nozzles are fine they're mointed to the wall about half way up and you simply use them handheld. Not sure what the other complainers are upset about. This is not uncommon. The heat was good. Very quaint hotel in a perfect location for Old Town, the Christmas market, restaurants and markets. We'd stay here again without hesitation.
- gayak2015 (2/5): Not recommended hotel - Very rude staff
Very dark room
Carpet is wet
Bathroom without proper amenities
They clean room only after asking them
Elevator is hardly working
Keys are not working
Breakfast is no tasty
The only plus is location
But service is super poor
Thanks
- SwissDeb (8/5): Great location but tired decor - Location very good, as others state it is a little tired but the staff were excellent as was the breakfast offering. Good airconditioning, twin beds which easily separate to ensure enough room between me and teenage son! Indian restaurant just down the road also very good.
- Mark (10/5): Great stay for a family - Great location, just a few minutes away from the main square in Prague. The hotel is nearly 100 years old, so it does look slightly tired as expected, but it was clean and in good condition. The staff were friendly, and the receptionist on the first day was amazing when we checked in. We had a family room, and it was very spacious and the child's bed was in a slightly separate area, which was good. There was a fridge in the room for keeping drinks etc. cool. The mattresses were hard though and it wasn't particularly soundproofed from outside, and my wife struggled to sleep. Breakfast was reasonable, if slightly limited, but the serving staff barely acknowledged your presence and didn't ask for room numbers or anything. With hindsight, it would have been useful to have a menu for the restaurant in the room, and it didn't have a Do Not Disturb sign within the room. Good WiFi and the aircon worked well.
- stephenpJ5349TN (8/5): Prague - Really nice and clean hotel.
Friendly staff and a nice breakfast restaurant that suits all tastes.
Totally recommended as it’s a short walk to both the main square and the Wenceslas square and close enough but not too close to all the lively bars
- MODAYIL (2/5): - The toilets were stinging. Sewage smell
- Olga (4/5): - The hotel was disappointing overall. While it is very conveniently located 5 min walk from Old Town Square, the host was not friendly and honestly quite annoying, and some elements of the room were dilapidated.
- Douglas (4/5): - Our booked room was not as described in the artillery provided by Expedia.
1. It states the Standard Double or Twin Room has a Shower/bath combination, but our room only had a shower.
2. We did not have a 130-cm Smart tv, just a standard tv and the only channel that was in English was BBC world news
3. The hotel never had a 24hr reception. (most days we was there it was closed from 10am to 10pm)
4. Room cleanness was poor, i.e.- TV controller was sticky, Shelfs where very dusty, the celling above the shower had a lot of big brown water marks,
3. Tissues was found under one of the pillows
4. Staines were on the duvet cover (but sheets looked clean)
5. Disabled entry is a little difficult as when you enter the hotel you are faced with a 4/5 large steps, You can use the entrance via the attached restaurant round the back but only when its open.
The hotel is in a great location to visit the new town and the old town as its in the middle of both.
- Alena (8/5): - Hotel is super nice, great location and amazing staff! I was there in January so the room was slightly cold and there is so much noise from the street over the night due to the location! So many drunk people … but I would stay there again and would recommend the hotel for sure. Love it
- Deepdiver47 (10/5): Faultless, beginning to end - We were really concerned after booking earlier, then reading the negative reviews, but thankfully decided to stick with the booking and take the chance.
Perfectly located just off the Old Town Square we were within walking distance from everywhere.
We were on the fifth floor and the room was exactly as described in the booking, large with a fabulous bathoom and spa bath. It was clean, neat and in good repair. We had a huge balcony which unfortunately we didnt use much as it was snowing!
The staff were exceptional. On the evening of arrival we asked for a decent local restaurant and the young lady on reception was more than helpful. Above and beyond was the gentleman the next day who, when asked about places to visit must have spent ages photocopying and highlighting pages of information. I still have it as we didnt even dent the recommendations!
Breakfast was in the lower ground floor, but due to some very imaginative lighting it felt fresh and cheerful. The spread was a good selection of hot and cold, we were usually the first through the door so no idea how it fared.
We fell in love with Prague, and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
- julieaR7038SA (2/5): Hotels not to go to - I booked this hotel through booking as I needed a family room with 3 beds for adults, Booking charged me one price , I paid in the hotel and the price went up 40€, due to the hotel exchange rate! The bedroom was a 2 bed with only a childs bed( camp bed kind of bed, not what I had paid for, I complained the hotel said it was bookings fault, there was no terrace either, they are false pictures only on one suite they said, and the garden terrace is actually another bar that you can only sit in if you pay for the drinks, the hotel was clearly not 4 star , the window didn’t shut after we opened it and it fell out of the frame!and couldnt be fixed, we were told not to open it!, there were no plugs by the side of the beds and the tv was falling off the wall! They wouldnt change our room ! The breakfast was very basic, and at the end of the stay somehow booking have given the hotel a 10 in my review which I didnt do! which I am taking up with booking, I would just like to warn people to not go yo this hotel!
- Marina (10/5): - Great area
- Etay (8/5): - .
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Excellent location and friendly helpful staff. The big downside was the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. I had to sleep on top of pillows. Shame as otherwise our stay would have been perfect.
- Andrey (10/5): - Amazing
- Asma (10/5): Charming - Amazing staff and very well located
I highly recommend it
- Brian (10/5): Put on a mattress topper and you’ve got something - The rooms are Old World and fun. The bathtubs are perfect. Location is excellent. The restaurant was very good with traditional cuisine.
I like a firm bed, but these beds weren’t a little too firm.
Most hotels keep power adapters around for the guests who forget theirs. One would hope they begin to do so as well.
- tobias (10/5): - Basic hotel, good breakfast. Good location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Mixed feeling - Nice property, but I think the staff required more appropriate and professional training. Don’t get me wrong, they are friendly, but somehow leave us a very strange feeling. Like the housekeeper, did not even knock the door to come into the room, not once but a few times, the receptionist required us to leave our passports at the counter for 30mins... as he was busy with his mobile phone... I don’t know, it is definitely strange to me and it is the first encounter in my entire life for such practices in a commercial hotel.
- 180russelld (4/5): 2 night november stay - this is NOT a 4 star hotel...its at best a very tired 3 star hotel
the reception area is a hovel, its disgusting and not very welcoming,
the rooms are at best ok, the bathroom wasnt bad, but the shower didnt work properly, we notified the reception, who didnt seem to care much.
we didnt sleep very well, either night, because of all the noise, from both inside and outside the hotel
we didnt bother with breakfast, as it down in the cellar down a dingy stairwell,
i wouldnt reccomend this hotel at all, the one and only good thing about it, was its location, though this probably added to the noise from outside.
- Nidge62 (10/5): Great local hotel - This hotel is fantastic, from checking in to checking out everything was perfect. Breakfast is included and choice was very good, situated less than 5 mins from main square. Will be coming back next year.
- ARM-TOURIST-123 (6/5): Location perfect, but lack of cleanliness - Location was just perfect. Construction outside and constant partying drunk people outside got in the way of sleep. Bathroom needs a complete renovation. Falling apart bathroom counter, hair in the shower, and rusted pipes were disgusting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were clean and tidy and very warm.. we arrived at 1.15pm and check in was 2pm. The rooms were ready but they wanted to charge u euros per person to check in early.
- Janice (10/5): Excellent stay - Lovely convenient hotel, really good shower, restaurant and bar very good
- Donald (10/5): This was my 2nd stay, that says it all - This is the second time we stayed here and will stay again if we are in Prague. I really like the rooms, very different from the usual hotel rooms. Breakfast was excellent with numerous choices. It is very near the main square so in the early morning there may be some passing noise from revelers for a short while which is not the Hotels fault. Staff were freiendly and helpful. Close to the public transport for easy access to the tourist spots over the river.
- Michael (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Nice hotel, close to the main square. Easy reach to everything,Staff were very helpful and the place was spotless. It is about £30:00 from the airport or you can get the tram I think. This hotel books the taxi for you if you contact them, the driver was waiting for me at the airport. I had no problem booking a return taxi when leaving. Around the old town there is plenty to see, you are also just a ten minute walk to the river for a boat trip if you fancy doing that. There are about 6 boats or more to go on down at the river on the same side as this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Centralised heating control meant that the central location became a problem as needing to open the windows meant we couldnt keep oit the noise.
Lors of little things - hard to find sockets for example - that just added up to make what could be a good hotel, just OK instead
- Onur (8/5): Will stay again - Best location that you can find in prague. Large room. Average cleaning. Missed the breakfast, so no comment on that
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a great property. I can't fault the place. The hotel itself is lovely, I didn't have too much interaction with the staff but they would always give a friendly hello or goodbye as I was going in or out. Breakfast was buffet style and a good selection, the restaurant and bar next door were also very good. A short walk to the Old Town Square and close to the metro.
- Amanda (8/5): ice hotel in quiet area - Nice hotel in quiet area ,close to attractions. Rooms spacious but air conditioning did not work very well room to hot. Would of been nice to of had proper shower instead of a bath with shower which you held but wasn’t problem for a short break. Would stay again if in Prague. Good choice at breakfast.
- amit (8/5): Prague trip - Central location as we walked to all places and shopping area.
Clean and spacious room even with 3 suitcases on the floor.
Friendly staff.
- Mike (10/5): Fantastic - Best location, mintues walking distance to everything you need or want to do. Staff (Teresa and Katarina) were awesome, very cheerful and very helpful. Room was clean and air conditioned, breakfast had plenty of selection and also tasted great! No complaints, would highly recommend and would definitely go back!
- Linda (8/5): - Very good area to stay in, but the hotel lift was not working that often and had to keep walking up flights of stairs to get to our room, as I had a broken foot this wasn't acceptable.
- Szymon7 (6/5): Good location, average hotel - The hotel is conveniently located in the old city. Rooms are clean and well equipped with amenities. Price to quality ratio was quite good. However it is quite dated (lift feels unsafe and actually broke down during our stay), and food selection on breakfast was quite limited. I’d recommend this rather for tourists than for business trip.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to major sites. Clean. Home. Away from home.
- GregM (6/5): - The location is spectacular - the Old Town, just steps to the Tyn Church and all the enchantment of Prague. The hotel is going through a renovation and I can understand that. What I cannot accept is that room service doesn't leave a fresh towel or re-stock supply (and shower gel was not offered at all).
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I arrived late to the property and was greeted eventually by a nonchalant receptionist, handed a letter stating that the hotel was overbooked and I needed to transfer to another hotel. The alternative hotel was half a mile further out of the city and I was supposed to be grateful they were providing a taxi! I spent time on the phone to Expedia with no solution and reluctantly had to transfer to the Embassy for the night. The staff were very nice at the Embassy but the location was far from perfect. The following morning I cancelled my next 2 nights stay and went to a fabulous hotel The Grand Majestic.
I was travelling alone with my young daughter and location was key for me. No attempt had been made to let me know of the changes in advance. Very rude and unwelcoming arrival by Hotel Espirt.
- Gabri (8/5): Would definitely go back - We really enjoyed the hotel. It was comfortable and the location was amazing. Even though there was refurbishment taking place, we never even noticed the workers or the work done. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only downside is that we found our family room a bit cold as we only had a heating/aircon unit working as the heaters weren’t.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel close to old town square, shopping, restaurants and places of interest.
Staff were friendly and always willing to help with anything.
Hotel breakfast was included in the price. Food selection was good.
- Courtz4444 (6/5): Good base for exploring - We stayed for 3 nights.
Pros -
Good location for old town, only a few minutes walk to really good locations for food/drink.
Also close to the powder tower, old town square & shopping complex.
Breakfast is included & served from 7-10 daily. It’s pretty decent, with a few different types of options, cold meats, eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, breads & pastries. They also have a decent tea selection.
Large spacious rooms, which for the price are well set out. A little out dated & could use a few touch ups but good rooms.
Pillows weren’t to my liking & staff were very accommodating in getting me a new one!
Staff were helpful, and the guy who checked us out was really funny!
Cons -
Our room was boiling & the aircon did nothing to cool it down, seems the heating was coming from the towel rail in the bathroom. Better than being freezing, considering it was in the minuses our whole stayed, but we ended up with our window open when we were in, including for part of the night while we slept.
Safe didn’t work & just made a weird ringing sound, which also went off in the middle of the night.
Our stay was pleasant & we would stay again.
- Anna (10/5): Excellent Location - Perfect location: Old Town Square a few minutes walk; tram and metro lines (Namesti Republiky) connect you everywhere. Two tram stops to and from the main train station. Shopping and dining options abound. The Hotel itself is excellent: room is very comfortable, breakfast buffet offers hot and cold items. Front desk staff are very nice. Highly recommended!
- pnhmrk (6/5): Comfortable - ... but I doubt we’ll be staying there again.
We’ve spent our last four Christmases in Prague, three of them staying at this hotel. We also stayed here when we were in Prague last April.
We always book their suite with a view of Prague Castle. Although its layout is slightly linear it offers everything we want at a reasonable price.
Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. Teresa and the other lady (I’m sorry I don’t know your name) on reception are always smiling and seem pleased to see us when we return. A man (with short, blond, hair has also been efficient. Housekeeping is good and the staff in the restaurant helpful and sociable. There is one exception however - a man on reception who, when we said about problems with the hot water, brusquely dismissed us by saying “I’ve had no other complaints” and then ignoring us and turning away.
The hot water is the reason we probably won’t be staying here again. We’ve been here eleven nights and on five of the following mornings we’ve faced the choice of either a cold shower or no shower because there is no hot water. On other mornings our showers have been barely warm. We have raised this as an issue but whilst Teresa seems to genuinely care the man didn’t seem concerned.
If you get down at the right time the cold breakfast buffet is good. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have enough supplies in stock to keep the buffer refreshed for the entire time it is available and if you eat after 0845 there are likely to be major gaps. This hot buffet ranges from average to unacceptable - when there are fried eggs there is a great tray of hard, over cooked, eggs - dried out and unappealing. Why do they have to cook than all first thing in the morning rather than cooking a few as needed? The one exception to my hot buffet comment is the pancakes - they are lovely.
In my rating I’ve marked housekeeping down for several reasons. The first is that we were here for eleven nights but the bed was only changed once - I only change my bed at home weekly but I’m not paying GBP 130 per night for the privilege; Because of the problems with the hot water Teresa sent us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine - housekeeping put this with the mini bar and we only found out that Teresa had sent the wine on our last day; The room has a coffee machine and three servings of coffee. Two of these servings were wrapped and one had been opened by a previous guest. We used the two that were wrapped but they were never replaced.
Back in April we paid CZK 40315 for this room. That works out about GBP 130 per night. If they were able to provide hot water when required that would be acceptable however the hot water problem and their inability to rectify it (or even acknowledge it in the case of the male receptionist) means a low rating and that we are unlikely to return.
- andrew0088 (2/5): Limited electricity, no real shower. Avoid room 13 - I thought every 4* hotel should have solid electrics. Apparently not, the plugs in our room we’re temperamental at best. I had to sort out the fuse box myself multiple times as the people in reception had better things to do other than to sort out our electrics. However, when all the lights, power etc went from every room on the 1st floor is when the staff decided it was bad enough to act upon.
The art-deco theme was odd, however we could live with it, what we couldn’t was the fact that it hadn’t had a good clean as we found broken glass in the carpet.
I am not sure if the shower which was integrated with the taps via a short hose over the bath was part of the Art Deco theme, but we live in 2019, all I want is to be able to stand in a shower without anyone holding it for me!
Our room (room 13) we could hear the bathroom next to us and could hear them going to the toilet, if we could hear that, what could other rooms hear?!.
The room was at the front of the building which I can hear the noise from the road. Not sure if the single glazing is part of the art-deco theme or not.
The breakfast was included in the price However I would not recommend it, very poor selection of food. There are two decent places for breakfast 1 or 2 min walk which I would recommend, Cafe No 3 and Den Noc.
The location was decent to be fair, however I would not recommend this place. A hostel would have better facilities.
- T (8/5): - Really friendly staff and excellent location. Definitely recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Good price. Nice hotel- would stay here again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel in best location - 0 meters to Koteva mall In haert of Praha, less price than others nerbey, good breakfast not multi but basics breakfast is always available. Bellow were dull, I requested two more they provide it next day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel fclose to Old Town Square. - Friendly staff promptly responsive to needs and requests .
- Erika (8/5): Great rates and great location! - This hotel was in a perfect location, close to everything in old town and beyond. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of foods.
- keara (8/5): Really nice hotel near old town square - The hotel was in amazing location.
The rooms are clean and big.
Breakfast was good although there should be allergy numbers on labels.
Air con can be a bit annoying to work at first but works after.
- Vitek (8/5): Great Stay in Prague - it was great and fantastic location. 10 minutes walk from Grand Central train station "Hlavni Nadrazi" perfect for exploring both, the city and the country.
- Kirti (8/5): - Good location, wonderful stay!
- Daniella (4/5): - They did not have any shampoo or conditioner facilities. The room/bathroom was not very clean. Was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room and amenities.
- Victor (8/5): Very centrally located - We had a good stay the hotel is centrally located to all points of interest, very pleased with the service , the facility and specially the staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to Old Town Prague - Helpful hotel staff booked a tour and airport transportation for us. Very helpful.
- Hannah (8/5): A pleasant surprise - I booked this hotel last minute and was so pleased. The staff was so helpful, especially Tereza at the front desk. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Location was great for getting to the local sites. Most were in walking distance.
Unfortunately there was construction going on on the street below which made for some noisy mornings. Also, there was a bar crawl that came by two of the nights. So if you're looking for complete peace and quiet take note.
- Auja (8/5): Great Location - Finding the hotel can be a bit of a challenge because it is very near Old Town so there are many small streets around which can be confusing. Once you find it, it is great. The people at the desk were polite, friendly and helpful. They arranged my taxi ride back to the airport and it is a fixed rate much cheaper than I paid to get there.
- Syed Hasan (6/5): my first prague trip - the breakfast was excellent. the location is very good. Only issue I found is wet carpet close to the bathroom door.
- Luke (8/5): - Great location in Old Town Prague. Super close to the square.
- Maureen (8/5): Kind staff- great location - This hotel was clean, room was great. Food is a basic European breakfast. Only complaint was that the beds are incredibly firm. The man that checked me in showed me how to use kroner and was very sweet. A 5 minute walk to the old town square and not far past that to the Charles Bridge.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very convenient location within Old Town Prague. - Friendly service, clean rooms, nice selection of food at breakfast.
- Mei ling (10/5): Great - It is nice and clean, it is convenient to all the attractions and can walk to train station
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location for the old town - Lovely hotel in excellent position. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Prague.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to tourist attraction - Good hotel for a short stay, breakfast wasn't that nice. Room very clean, close to most tourist attraction. Recommended for a short stay.
- Michael (8/5): - Great stay in a great location!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel, good location - Some Pros:
- Dining area which serves continental breakfast, foods differ slightly each day
- Very close to Powder Gate and Náměstí Republiky metro station (good for travelling to/from to airport via Zlicin)
- 5 minute walk to Old Town square, 10-15 minutes to castle (depending which entrance you head for)
Some minor Cons:
- No restaurant of their own, but there is an adjoining Chinese restaurant which did good food and beer at reasonable price
- There is a late night bar nearby which attracts some pub-crawlers, so you occasionally get loud drunken groups walking past (I think this is true in most of Old Town)
- No fixed shower in room, rather a shower head/hose attached to bath tap. It's fine when you get used to it
One final point: most public toilets in Prague (including in restaurants) charge an entry fee, so it's nice to have a centrally-located hotel which you can pop back to if you need to! The hotel also has some (clean) toilets in the lobby for guests to use.
Overall, a great experience. I would recommend.
- Todd (6/5): Zimmerman Review - Unfortunately the room did not have air conditioning, so needed the windows opened. It was cool so no problem with that. However right by bars, so very loud all night long. Also, we arrived on a Monday and the elevator was not working, so had to lug the bags upstairs. They stated it would be fixed the next day,. We left Thursday afternoon at it was still not fixed. Breakfast was included and decent.
- Dan (6/5): very well located - hotel is very well located just on the edge.of the old quater. this is a downfall however as you end up with alot of road noise. room was in need of updating and repairs.
- Murray (6/5): Great location but lacks the basics - I was ready to give this place 5 stars when I arrived. Nice Art Deco décor, clean spacious rooms and buffet breakfast, but having no aircon and no shower(just a bath and hose) killed that. Also no washing facilities for my clothes when I asked reception - that's quite unacceptable. Staff are helpful where able though; they printed some things for free and posted a couple of letters also for me.
- 2 sisters (6/5): Okay place to stay - We didn't think not having AC would be a problem ad the forecast was for cooler temps. However a couple of 30 degree days made our room stuff and uncomfortable. Couldn't keep windows open at night as the bar crowds were loud. A small fan helped a little. Front desk staff aren't overly friendly. Kind of curt in their responses. Heaven forbid you ask a question if someone else is at the desk ! You are told to come back later !
- Danny (2/5): not nice - Not a 4 star hotel more like 2 star the room was hot not air conditioning just a fan the was no good just recycled hot air the hotel staff are not very friendly I asked to change the room due to the loud shouting from the street from groups of people passing the hotel and I was meet with hostility by the hotel staff not nice at all the breakfast was not a nice experience the hotel staff just hovering around looking at you like you should no be there and the food not nice at all I would not recommend the hotel at all stay away
- Sim (8/5): near cbd, valuable - good hotel, clean, near cbd, big room and bathroom
