• 791katied (10/5): Fantastic stay! - The Berkeley hotel is fantastic! For the price you couldn’t fault it. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were all so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was delicious and it was great to have it included. It took about 40 minutes to walk to the old town and about 6 euros in an Uber. It only cost us 21 euros from the airport in an Uber. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Dubrovnik!
• the3bells (10/5): Great hotel with the best staff - If you want a hotel that’s spotless, has fabulous staff, decent included breakfast and reasonably priced, then this place is for you. A 30 mins walk into the Old Town, but there are regular buses from the road by the harbour: if you have mobility issues however you may struggle with this location. Really comfy beds/decent hairdryer in room/robes and slippers/great quality shower gel shampoo etc, as well as touches like sewing kit/shower caps and other bits. However the best til last; the staff - just amazing. So friendly 💕 We got there and Jan checked us in with info re buses etc; we asked about nearest shop to get milk for a cuppa ( teas coffees etc in room), and he went straight to kitchen and got us a small jug full. Ines and Maria always smiling, asking how your day was, what you had planned, did you need anything - lovely touch to come into the breakfast room each morning to speak to guests. Then Lydia, once she had made the breakfast coffee on the 1st day, she remembered and welcomed you back on all others days confirming you still wanted that order. We put our cases in the luggage room on the last day, and went back for them before going to the bus station. We had half an hour to kill so stayed in reception. The lady there ( we had not seen her before), made us a coffee and we saw her check all the guests in, and was chatty, smiley and informative. A great stay - as you can tell we loved it.

• juliedJ7326BD (10/5): FANTASTIC HOTEL AND STAFF - Absolutely fantastic hotel. From start to finish everything was brilliant for us. Staff were all amazing - helpful, friendly, happy, smiley, wonderful. Lydija at breakfast was our server and nothing was too much trouble. She had a gorgeous smile every day and a wonderful memory! Elma on reception, again a beautiful smile to greet you every day and so helpful. In fact every single member of staff we were in contact with were amazing. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and the pastries and cakes - wow! All homemade and delicious baked by the onsite pastry chef (sorry didn't get her name ). Rooms were very good size and extremely clean with our room's balcony overlooking the pool (closed for the season but not an issue for us). Cannot say enough about how enjoyable our stay here was. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Anyone coming to the beautiful Dubrovnik should book a stay here. Gruz is a great base for visiting everything in the old town and the bus stop is literally outside of the hotel. Such a wonderful place and staff. Thank you all for an amazing stay!
• supergreen7 (10/5): Staff Treated Us Like Royalty, Room Was a Bonus - Wow, what a gem of a hotel. Our room looked like it had just been personally cleaned by a superhero with a vacuum. Spotless, modern, comfy bed that felt like sleeping on a supportive cloud. Fridge? Check. Coffee and tea? Check. Balcony for dramatic morning coffee sipping? Also check. Breakfast was included and honestly could have been its own attraction. Fresh food, hot and cold options, bacon, eggs, sausage, the works. And then came the coffee. Not just regular coffee, but fancy barista magic. The cappuccino was so good I briefly considered proposing to it. Yes, it was October and the pool was not heated. Did that stop me? Of course not. I jumped in like a brave, slightly shivering champion. It was less swimming and more involuntary cold plunge therapy, but I survived and felt strangely proud of myself. The real stars of this hotel are the employees. They answered every question, gave directions, made recommendations, and kept bringing us delicious drinks like coffee angels. Maria and Ines were especially amazing. They went the extra kilometers to make us feel welcome, cared for, and caffeinated. Would 100 percent stay again. Preferably when the pool is warmer, but either way, I am coming back for that cappuccino.
• tanjaf900 (10/5): What a great boutique hotel! Amazing staff!! - We just had 7 nights at this hotel and we couldn’t fault it. Modern, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was fresh, good quality and plentiful. The location which is off the main road is minutes from the bus stop to take you to the Old Town and we walked 10 mins to the bus station to visit Cavtat (which is a must place to go to as it’s so lovely!). This hotel is well placed for exploring Dubrovnik. It is near the Dubrovnik Beer Company and The Red Museum! A big thumbs up for both. The main thing though was the staff. Friendly and helpful at all times. Marija and the team (Anja especially although they were all excellent but we didn’t know everyone’s names) were 5 star and really went out of their way to be super helpful and giving advice on buses and places we visited! Brilliant! We can’t recommend this place enough!!
• lozzygk (8/5): Great break. - Lovely helpful staff on reception and the restaurant. Anya , one of our breakfast waitresses gave us ideas for day trips which was really helpful. We were well cared for regarding tea and offer refills. Breakfast was continental and some cooked. The cooked food was not very hot though, so this put us off having it. The safe in our room wouldn't work. Staff came to look at it and we were told a new one would have to be ordered. Meanwhile we were having to use our friends safe, but they were in a room on the next floor up which was a bit inconvenient. On the last day we noticed that the safe had been replaced...but nobody informed us! The hotel description says that there is an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool. There was no indoor pool though. Very disappointing. Rooms are a good size. Very clean hotel. The i pad that is available in each room is helpful but needs updating re bus prices etc. Hotel situated on a very busy road, but walking distance to bus stops and the port. €2.50 for bus to the Old Town, and need to cross over the main road to get the bus going in the right direction! Tried 2 local restaurants. Amfora....but the food was disappointing as the pasta dish served on a cast iron plate was cold, and our Grilled meat platter was warm, but the jacket potatoes wrapped in foil were cold. Waiter wasn't interested. Porat...excellent food and lovely staff. We did a boat trip to Lokrum from the port in the Old town. €30 which we booked at the port. Amazing day, lovely botanical gardens, lots of peacocks 🦚...some a bit cheeky, stealing food from a couples table in the lovely cafe bar(not the restaurant). Game of Thrones chair on display in the monastery. Also did a 90 minute bus tour which was well worth the money.

• kevinao2018 (10/5): Highly recommend this hotel - Staff were so friendly and welcoming - Highly recommend this hotel. We were a group of 4 friends staying for 3 nights. The hotel was a great location. There was a bus stop very close by with buses leaving very frequently into the old town. There were lots of beautiful hidden cafes and restaurants very close by with prices very reasonable and excellent food. The rooms were very clean. The highlight of our stay were the staff and their unbelievable friendliness and customer service. We arrived very late due to travel delays and the first thing the lady asked us was 'Are you hungry'. Nothing was a problem. They were so welcoming and friendly. Thank you.
• Wayne (10/5): - We stayed at the Berkeley for 4 nights at the beginning of our vacation, and 1 night at the end. We recommend it to anyone who visits Dubrovnik. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is absolutely wonderful. (reception, breakfast servers, cleaners) They go above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. Seriously, these people are awesome! The bed was very comfortable. There are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but there are several a short walk away down a flight of stairs to the port area. (If you have mobility issues, this might be a problem.). We easily caught a town bus to the Old Town from the port area. The main bus station is also a short walk away.

• TEHooi (10/5): A Heartwarming Stay in Dubrovnik - This hotel may be on the simpler side, but what it offers in service and hospitality is truly five-star. From the very first day, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and smiles, and every time we returned after exploring Dubrovnik, it felt like coming back home. Their friendliness created such a welcoming atmosphere that really made our stay special. The breakfast buffet was another highlight of our trip. The spread was varied and fresh, with the omelette crepes, waffles, and salad selection standing out as our favorites. The biggest surprise, however, was the coffee – handmade with care, not from a machine, and honestly the best cup we had in Dubrovnik. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and came with a beautiful sea view that made mornings and sunsets unforgettable. While the hotel itself is not a luxury property, the cleanliness, charm, and above all, the people, gave us an experience that was worth far more. If you are looking for a place with heart, great food, and a personal touch, I couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly. We would gladly return on our next visit to Dubrovnik.

The location was very central in the Gruz neighborhood, and the pool was also a nice touch. We only wish we could stay for more days.

• saraht567 (10/5): Lovely overnight stay - We had an overnight stay before we flew home from Dubrovnik airport, after arriving from Montenegro. We walked from the bus station about a 10 minute walk up hill. We got booked in straight away. It was so hot the airconditioned room was lovely. Really clean and a large comfy double bed, bathroom spotless, television and fridge. We had a side room with balcony overlooking the Port. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. The breakfast was good, lots of choice. The hot food could have been warmer..but was tasty. We would recommend, all staff friendly and would stay again if ever back in Dubrovnik.

Pool area looked lovely, but didnt use it. Breakfast a nice selection , perhaps the hot items could have been hotter. But a lovely overnight stay before flying home.

• Karen Lea (10/5): Dubrovnik - great hotel - The hotel accommodated us to get us 3 beds in a room. Room was very comfortable and lots of places to put our clothes. We had a view of the sea and could see the cruise ships in port. We were within walking distance of the Ferry port. The front desk was especially helpful in obtaining a driver for us to go into the hills to see the village our Grandmother came from. Breakfast had a lot of variety and was quite good.
• Julia (10/5): Cute boutique hotel near the port of Dubrovnik - Cute boutique hotel near the port in Dubrovnik. The staff was super friendly and the stay included a breakfast which was so tasty. There’s not much around the area as the main attractions are in Old town but it was perfect for us as we were boarding a boat in the port. Would highly recommend.
• janicemg (6/5): Excellent staff, but everything was a bit sad - We stayed here for 3 nights before our cruise. The location is quite good tho up steep hill which could be a challenge for some people. Lots of very good restaurants within a 10 minute walk.The staff were very helpful. The room was a bit sad. 2 single beds, the sheet on one bed was ripped. The lampshade had a tear in it. The bathroom was very much in need of an overhaul. The swimming pool was quite small with only a few sunbeds and chairs around, twice we went to sit there and there was nowhere to sit. The water was very cold although advertised as heated. Breakfast was buffet style but the hot food was always cold. A good selection of cold meats and cheeses and bread. You can drink the tap water in Croatia and there was a kettle in the room but we had to ask for teabags and milk which were given very freely just not in the room. There is a bus you can get - 1a from the bottom of the hill to the old city, we went in an Uber 12e and came back on the bus for 2.5 each. Would I stay there again - probably?

• Stephanie (10/5): - The property has a 24/7 front desk which is FANTASTIC for late arrivals at dubrovnik airport - i took the airport shuttle to the local bus station and walked up the hill to the hotel. Very easy to take the bus or a very long walk into old town.

• Derek (10/5): Stay in Dubrovnik - Everything about the hotel was excellent. Very clean and unlike some other hotels have kept up with ongoing maintenance. Very close to the port (5 mins walk). Staff very friendly. Only negative and this is being very nitpicky the towels in the room where going off white and very soon will need replacing.

This hotel just up the hill from the docks, so if you arrive by boat be sure to walk up the hill on the road rather than on the steps since going up all the steps with luggage isn't something I'd recommend.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Got the Job Done with some Asterisks - The hotel was underwhelming. The bad: I asked for a big bed but got two small ones smushed together. The warm water stopped working one day with no notice. I left for the afternoon and when I came back at night the bathroom was flooded because they fixed the water and my shower flipped on. The thermostat could not be changed, so the room was warmer than I would’ve liked. The good: service was very good, and the breakfast was great. Other things to consider: the location was just ok. Close to some nice cafes and things to do but not walkable to the old town, nor did it have a good view of the old town or water. The pool also was underwhelming.

If amenities are something you want to have nearby, then this hotel is ideal. There is a supermarket a five minute walk away, as is the harbour and a great selection of restaurants. There is a lively cocktail bar (Love Bar) a short walk away as is the Dubrovnik Beer Company which serves a variety of craft beers and a good selection of wines and spirits. Either of these establishments makes for an ideal end to a night out near the hotel and harbour. The hotel is small, offering bed and breakfast only at the moment, although this might change. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the restaurant never felt cramped or busy at breakfast time. The restaurant also doubles as a bar in the evening which is a nice touch if you want to end your evening in the hotel. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were so friendly. The reception staff were always on hand to recommend somewhere to visit or assist with arranging an Uber, the local service for which is excellent with a short drive from the hotel to the Old Town. Be aware that Uber drivers can't stop at the main taxi rank in the Old Town, so a return journey to the hotel via taxi is more expensive than an Uber. The hotel pool is small but ideal for a dip at the end of the day if you've been out enjoying the local sights. The pool is cold to start with but once you're used to it, it's fine. A bit cold for my wife, but then she's not a chunky as me! Our room was at the rear of the hotel overlooking a courtyard. We had an outside balcony which was an ideal space to relax and enjoy some quiet time. All in all, we would highly recommend this hotel, which is less than 30 minutes drive from the airport, and a short drive to the Old Town. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, which was very much appreciated. We plan on returning to Dubrovnik and staying the The Berkeley again.
• chris123cp (10/5): - Lovely Boutique hotel ideally suited for exploring Dubrovnik. Stayed here for 7 nights, at the beginning of July, very friendly helpful staff, air con very good and room very spacious, clean and well equipped. The swimming pool is a nice addition rarely very busy. At breakfast the staff cannot do enough to make sure you are attended to and very helpful. A 3 minute walk to local bus stop to get to the town centre and the cruise port is literally 5 to 8 min minute walk. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by and a lovely marina to walk around. Definitely recommend this hotel for visiting Dubrovnik.
• Peter Anthony (10/5): - The property was modern, clean and had an excellent breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff. It's on a hill above the ferry terminal. The steps were a little difficult to negotiate for my wife who had a recent knee surgery.

The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, though ours did have two hand soaps but no shampoo—not sure if that’s typical or just a one-off. Breakfast was included and very good, with plenty of options to start the day. While we may choose a hotel closer to the water on a future visit, the Berkeley was perfect for our goal of being in the heart of the city. Dubrovnik is beautiful, and this was a great base for exploring it.
• esha_2308 (10/5): Perfect stay in Dubrovnik. - Excellent hotel near the ferry terminal. About 15 minutes walk. There is a busstop just opposite the hotel. The hotel is wheelchair accessible. Small hotel, very friendly staff. Always ready to help. Marija, the manager was very helpful right from the booking process. She patiently answered all my question about the wheelchair accessibility of the hotel. She herself remains present every morning in the breakfast area. We reached early at about 9:45 am on 21 May and this lady Ms Elma at the checkin counter was very helpful. She allotted us the room at about 11 am. We stayed for 5 nights. The view from the Balcony was amazing. We could see the cruise ships coming and leaving. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The neighbourhood around is very quiet and you can see local children playing basketball from the balcony. There is a Police station just next to the hotel.

• B1098QNjoannah (10/5): Nice Hotel - Great hotel, close to the port, bus stop right outside the hotel takes you into the old town in about 10 minutes on the bus otherwise it’s a good 30-40 minute walk which we did once. The staff here are incredibly friendly particularly one lady at breakfast unfortunately I don’t know her name but she gave us some really good recommendations for things to do and restaurants to visit so thank you. Also the reception staff were very helpful too (Jan and Elma) with recommendations so thank you both. We visited mid June the hotel room we had was a superior sea view food was lovely very spacious and clean and modern. The pool is small but it was lovely as it was so quite pretty much the whole time we were staying here (7 days) and we sometimes had it to ourselves. The hotel area is very quiet there are plenty of good restaurants just a short walk away dotted around the harbour we did also eat in the old town which is a must visit it’s absolutely beautiful

If you have the Dubrovnik Pass you get free bus passes and have a short 1 minute walk to the bus stop and a 10 minute bus ride to the old town. There are some good restaurants on the street facing the port. Breakfast is good and the coffee is wonderful. Hotel is kept very clean and the employees are very attentive. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect spot if you want a hotel close to the ferry two blocks away) and near Old Town/City Walls (I walked, but there is also a bus stop within steps of the hotel and an Uber was only $10). I was only in Dubrovnik for one night and was able to accomplish everything I wanted to do from this location, with a great night of sleep!
• Robert Kenneth (8/5): - Staff are excellent. Bathroom was not very clean. There was dirt behind the door that remained all week. Mugs were not washed/changed after use. Clean towels were left but used ones not always removed.
• Christy294 (4/5): It doesn't worth the price. - It is very far from the old town. You need to take a bus, which one needs to walk about 500 m to reach the bus stop. The breakfast doesn't have much varieties. The manager asks to pay city tax, eventhough the tax is included in the booking.com reservation.

• catedwards85 (6/5): Great location close to ferry terminal - We stayed here for one night prior to catching a ferry the following day to one of the smaller islands. For anyone doing the same this hotel is ideally situated. It is about 5-10 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Staff were really lovely. We arrived late but the receptionist was kind enough to get us a small jug of milk as us Brits love an evening cuppa. Room was clean and nice bathroom. Bed was really comfortable and good room facilities such as AC, kettle etc. We had doors opening onto a communal terrace area with our own table and chairs outside. There was a pool however we didn’t have time to use this. Breakfast was good. 6 minute walk from supermarket. I’d say a good hotel for a night or two but not anything amazing for a longer stay. Ideal location next to the port, professional staff, clean and comfortable room. Would definitely stay again.

Onsite secure parking was a great bonus for us too. We had a lovely sunset view from the balcony of our room, looking over the Lapad Peninsula, a short walk to Port Gruz and many restaurants and shops. It was a very easy bus ride to the Old City for the day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a lovely, friendly, comfortable stay in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.
• Travel07383468694 (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Stayed at Berkeley Hotel for 7 nights. All the staff there are excellent at there jobs and very professional. The rooms were 1st class clean and tidy althought I did have a problem getting in the safe it was a bit low. The breakfast excellent loads ands of choices. It is 5mins walk to to bus stop 2.50 euros to old town takes about 10mins. Plenty of resturants in about Gruz great food and service. Thanks again to all staff for a wonderful stay. Hopefully we can visit again

Swimming pool and sunbathing area small and closed depending on weather. Situated close to bus station and some pubs and restaurants. Would recommend for a night or 2 passing through but probably not great for an elongated stay.

For us British there is no milk in the room but the staff are very happy to provide some. Bus into Dubrovnik is one road over, local supermarket nearby. Pleasant walk into Dubrovnik in about 30 minutes. Recommended.
