Guest Reviews
- Melyssa (4/5): - The blond lady at the reception was rude and in a bad mood, both at time of check in and check out. I’m not sure if she likes her job but a little smile or at least a good customer service would have done the job.
- Marion (8/5): - Clean rooms. Basic breakfast but adequate.
- Carmen (4/5): - Many flights of stairs to go up with luggage with no elevator.
Staff surprisingly was very unfriendly. Breakfast was plain.
- Arman (2/5): - ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS ARE TRUE!!!!! and more. RUDE staff beyond belief. Hey management, tell your recetionists that if they want to have amorous interaction with theis lovers......to do it in private, not behind the reception desk. AND TO PAY MORE attention to their surroundings......
- Olga (6/5): - Right in the heart of the old town Prague. It was good for 2 adults and 2 kids. Had AC! Had all the basics; small continental breakfast. Nothing fancy but we came to experience the city and only sleep in the hotel.
- Gabriela (2/5): Never would I stay here again! - Absolute dirty place to stay at, you can hear anything and beds are totally uncomfortable. There are Spyder webs everywhere!
- Hector (10/5): - Excellent ubicación, cuartos cómodos y limpios, personal amigable. Buen desayuno. Definitivamente regreso en mi próxima visita a Praga.
- Justin (10/5): - Great location
- Hatch (6/5): - Good location, good bed, but not so friendly staff
- Purisima (10/5): - property is outdated but its clean & cheap specially it’s located in the center .. 1 minute walk to Old town square, 50 meters aways to high street High Ends Shops ,, 10 meters away to Hard Rock Cafe my fav place to visit in every travel.. with breakfast so you are not leaving empty stomach to start your day.. friendly staff and very accommodating .. will highly recommend this property as its budget friendly..
- Tracy (8/5): - There was a lot of stairs to get to our room. -over 70 to haul up luggage with no elevator. Would not recommend for an elder person or one with any injuries !
- Kelly (8/5): Location is everything! - Perfect location. Very basic breakfast but not bad considering the price. Room was quite dusty but full of character
- Debra (4/5): - Great location
Staff was not helpful--requested extra pillows 7 times b4 we received them
They gave us a room on the top with 5 sets of stairs with loose/broken hand rails. We requested a room on a lower due to my knee problems--they refused
We requested no cleaning & they cleaned the room anyway
Water temperature in shower was not stable
- Rafael (4/5): - Don’t go.Rude staff.They are not friendly.
- Isabelle Kristina (10/5): - Around the corner from astronomical clock and other sight seeing spots
- Micha (10/5): - My children and I stayed for 2 nights. The receptionist was really lovely & helpful. Location is amazing, literally a stone away from the wonderful Christmas markets. Room was spacious & clean, the view from our windows were lovely too. We will stay again, thank you
- Kinjal (10/5): - Great rooms, comfortable living, best location, super clean.
- Dianne (6/5): Amazing lication - Location is incredibly good. Stayed in the loft. Pretty sure the spiral stairs within loft would not comply with any building standards. Halfway up only just enough room to walk up if turn to your side. And I am slim. Was scarey at night as stairs were steep too. Three floors; NO lift! Also was very hot at night despite having no heating on. Toilet seat kept slipping. Shower head very low- so not much good if you are tall. Also shower within bath so be careful here. Breakfast was adequate.. but no eggs.
Reception staff not at all welcoming or helpful. Except when we were leaving. Also walls are thin and we had noisy neighbours on both sides.
Ladies cleaning rooms and in the breakfast room worked hard all day and their efforts were appreciated.
However; location is brilliant as stated before.
- Javon (8/5): - Good
- Martina (4/5): - I stayed here with family in 2018 and had a great experience so decided to stay here again. I was extremely disappointed.
Cons - I encountered two different front desk girls and both were very unfriendly, unhelpful and just looked like they didn’t want to be there. I suggest customers service training or new staff - the cleaning ladies were friendlier. We had to store our luggage as our room wasn’t ready and were charged for the storage room even though the website clearly states free luggage storage. She tried to say we had too many bags. There was 4 of us and 4 bags. We didn’t argue and just paid as it wasn’t worth it and the attitude of the girl was extremely bad.
Pro - only pro to the experience was the breakfast. There was a lot to choose from, fresh and tasty.
Overall, I won’t be returning to this property in the future.
- Kelly (10/5): - The Hotel is in a really good location and super convenient for the main square. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was spacious and unique. Only issue found was the bath was too small to sit in comfortably and the ceiling was too low to use the shower standing up.
- Efraim (10/5): - In the Center of the city !!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, good looking room. Frugal breakfast, no eggs in any form, otherwise ok.
- Carmen (8/5): - Location was excellent. Near the centre square. Very spacious. Be aware there are lots of stairs to get to the room. No problem for us, but it was a climb. Wifi wasn’t very strong.
- Diana (6/5): - Staff at check in was abrupt. No elevator with big luggage a problem. No real air flow during hot summer days so rooms remain hot even with fans. Location is great and room spacious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location.
Breakfast room has no seats available after 9 AM.
- Tatiana (10/5): - Great, very friendly front desk staff, my laundry was done the same day! They provided a transfer from/to airport for me. Great room, breakfast and all walkable distance.
- Aleksandra (10/5): - Awesome location in a busy area. Everything was so close. We really enjoyed our stay, complimentary breakfast was a nice convenience. It is noisy on the street below, with all the tourists, but that comes with the location.
- Tim (10/5): - Can’t beat the location.
- shelly (8/5): - Charming and right in the middle of everything!
- Janos (6/5): - The location of the hotel is excellent, strong wifi, breakfast acceptable. There are thin walls. We found 2 bugs in the room.
- Kate (8/5): Perfect location - Perfect location just at the old town square, check it was a bit confusing as entry to the room we had was somewhere else. It would be challenging for some to get to the room as stairs were narrow and steep. In the room we had set up for 2 when our booking was for 3. Tea and coffee was in the room and was chargeable even though it was instant as only 3in1 coffee. Breakfast very basic. We only stayed 2 night and it was good for what we needed
- Luke (10/5): - A very unique hotel in the middle of Prague. perfect for a group of 5 lads in there 20's. we were warned about noise after 10pm but other than that no complaints absolutely superb.
- David (10/5): - The property was incredible, and the staff were nice and well informed.
- Georgi (8/5): - Top Lokation! Schreckliche Akustik im ganzen Gebäude.
- Hugo (8/5): - Great location. Staff friendly and nice. Bed very hard, Room small, but functional. Would stay here again
- RUKIYE (8/5): - Oncelikle resimde gorunen oda olmuyor o suit odaymis.
- Philippa (2/5): - Good location, but staff are unhelpful and rude. Said we used a bottle of water from the mini bar, which we hadn’t, kept arguing with us, then told us to go. We later saw they had put thru a $7 on our credit card.
The floors creak terribly you cannot move without waking up everyone else in the room and probably the people below, I know we heard every move the people above us made. I would give this place a miss.
- Samantha (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The main reception worker was very kind and helpful. The room was larger than pictured for our group of 5. As described there is a steel stairwell, No A/C, and limited charging options. Although they did provide fans.
One negative was ants in the bathroom. Which were not taken care of. Also a pesky pigeon by the bathroom window so we wouldn’t open it or it would climb in!
The main negative was the beds. The mattresses were like straw sacks with no support.
- Francisco (10/5): - Right in the center of them all. Great and unique room.
- Ronny (10/5): Location, location, location! - The room is in a historic building with tourist guides stopping by pointing out the hotel as a landmark. There was plenty of space for six. The location is amazing, it is only a few steps from the town square and the astronomical clock. The castle is 0.8 miles away. Perfect to explore the city by foot.
- Robert (6/5): Prague - Hotel - Great location! Historic building. be prepared for 83 stairs (no elevator) to get into the room. Not the hotel's fault - just the way the building is built. Housekeeper is awesome. You have to go downstairs to get to the bathroom in this suite and the stairs are steep and tight. Shower does not have a door/curtain. Front desk staff is helpful except for the lady in the evening with a big tattoo on her chest. Don't expect her to be helpful. The other two are great!
- Malgorzata Anna (10/5): -
Price amazing for this Area 😃
Good breakwast 😋,
nice lady from recepcion 🤓
nice room 21 1 floor
-
Is issue only with cleaning ( floor )
And I pay double city tax on expedia when I booking and on hotel desk 😐 but this is expedia issue be carefour when you booking with expedia
I recommended this hotel ❤️
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very bad, never go again - The luggage storage is only applicable on the day of your checkout. The building is 4 storey high and there’s no lift. Recep disallowed is to store some luggages in the luggage room, that caused us need to carry all 5 luggage to level 4. 20kg+ luggage it is no joke. With kids around, the adult needed to make multiple trip up and down. Even the room itself, the toilet is at the bottom, the room is above. So after suffer carrying luggage for 4 storey high you still need to carry further to go all the way up to your room. Even you want to wash your hands you need to walk stairs to get your hands clean.
The room has very low beam, anyone above 170cm in height will likely get their head hit. There are only 4 little windows in the room, probably 1ftx2ft in dimension.
The hotel is a full scam. Hotel.com showed the price in Euro, the accommodation insisted they only accept CZK. They use their buy/sell lousy rate to convert the room rate. On top of that, Prague City tax is only applicable for 18 and above. When selecting room in Hotel.com, anyone above 12 years old is considered as adult. Therefore hotel insisted charging all my teens with City Tax. Luckily I have email from Hotel.com that I can prove that I asked about this beforehand. The recep then called her boss and revised the charge. The recep was rude throughout, I told her I am going to give bad comments for her attitude and scamming behaviour, she replied “go ahead”.
The breakfast is everyday the same.
- Benedict (4/5): - Positive: Location
Negative, No elevator, so you have to carry all your stuff all the way up to the 3rd floor if it room you get is up there. No shower curtain, so all floor gets very wet. Breakfast is so bad.. Hot dogs and cereals and coffee thats it.Irina, the receptionist is really nice and helpful, but the other young girl who works night shift is very rude. She doesn't even look at you when you ask her something.
- Raddie (2/5): - The bathroom stank like a sewage, floored squeaked with every step, no lift.
- Dixie (8/5): - Loves the location! But the floors are super squeaky and you can hear a lot of what’s going on in other rooms. Did t really bother us. Very old building but beautiful and big rooms and location is awesome!
- Veronica (10/5): - Placed at an unrivalled location, makes you feel a local in the Old Town. Has the basic amenities to ensure a relaxed stay ( I especially appreciated fridge kettle!!!)
Knowing that the building is in itself a part of the history of the town is just amazing…
- Martin (2/5): Profiteering off the pandemic - A large group of us,48 people were booked into 5 hotels in Prague.
As we could not travel due to having to quarantine for two weeks when we returned 4 of the hotels returned our money or gave us vouchers for the value of our stay
This was the only hotel to refuse us money or offer vouchers for a later date
You may want to think about this before you book!
We had booked the five hotels on no refund deals but the other four had taken into account the adverse circumstances why we could not travel to Prauge
Hotel.com were powerless to help and basically washed their hands of the whole situation
- Brenda (10/5): Great spot! - We checked in as a group of 5. Stayed in room # 5 which was so neat, spanned over 2 floors. The upstairs is a little short due to the beams but it has a lot of floor space. This area was SO central to our sightseeing, it was perfect.
- John (10/5): Lovely hotel - everything about this hotel was just lovely.
it would have been lovely to have had a room in the other building.
we will definitely reccomend this hotel to others and stay here again when we make our 3rd visit to Prague
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Having been to the property twice before we knew the location and bedrooms were excellent, and would recommend to all.
However, the only issue we had was noise from the floorboards from the room above keeping us awake, the room above was the top floor suite.
Against n this would not stop me returning, but I would prefer a different room.
- Andres (8/5): Very convenient hotel - Perfectly located hotel right behind beautiful main square. The mattresses could have been softer especially for me as I have a bad back. Service was excellent and everyone was helpful. Ride service back to the airport was very convenient and very reasonably priced. Overall a good place to stay in such a beautiful city.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location was excellent. Very noisy due to outside activity. No shower curtain, so unable to use shower properly. Hot water varied between hot and scalding with no control over it.
Dining room too small for number of guests.
Breakfast inadequate.
Pillows terrible.
- debra (10/5): Lovely little place - This is a great hotel. Right in the heart of Prague. The people running the front desk were always pleasant and helpful. Don’t expect much of the included breakfast, but it’s a nice gesture. So many lovely places to eat around the city anyway. And be prepared for stairs. For us, we take the stairs anyway to offset out overeating, but with luggage it can be a challenge. Overall, we would choose this hotel again. Great value and perfect location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location with tons of dining options. No elevator though and a lot of stairs to your room
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very run down hotel with noisy outdoors and indoor. Dirty and mold in the bathroom and they changed my room because of it.
- Sue (6/5): - Room was on the top floor. 89 steps from the street to the room. Once in the room, the bathroom was on a lower level that had a narrow curving steep staircase to get to and the bottom step was uneven in height to the rest of them. Bed was on raised area and the beams were low so my 6'3" husband to hunch over to walk under them and not bonk his head. It was in a great area of town, clean, didn't make the breakfast buffet. I'd stay again but in a different room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel. Fab position for all main sights. Staff very helpful. Room was beautiful (but a big climb - so, dont be afraid of stairs)
- Paul (8/5): - Very good location. But the stairs are very steep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, good breakfast, reliable WiFi connection, comfortable bed
- Paul (8/5): Location - This place is right where you want to be, seconds from Old Town Square. It’s old and has a great feel about it. We had the family suite which was a 2 story apartment. Plenty of room but the beams in the loft are very low and bumped heads were had, a lot. Staff are friendly, breakfast is passable but it gets quite noisy on weekend nights with all the party goers. Very close to restaurants, bars and within walking distance to pretty much every sight and tourist attraction in the area. So much shopping in the area it will make your head spin. So all in all I would recommend this place to stay.
- Lou (8/5): - Pros: Lovely big room, well decorated, very clean. Lots of storage space! Cleaners seemed to come in everyday to make the bed and clean around the surfaces. Amazing location, a couple of minute walk from charles bridge and just around the corner (literally) from the old square with the clock. Staff generally helpful. Able to use the computer and printer to print out boarding passes. Secure luggage locker. Secure facility, as the receptionist has to let you in- we alway got let in within seconds.
Neutral- Breakfast was pretty standard- musli, cornflakes, some bread, sausage, some fruit and yoghurt- but good enough to fill you up till lunch. The receptionist requested our key every time we went out- I guess it's so you don't lose the key.
Cons: Thin walls, on our first night it sounded like people were running around in their room upstairs throughout the night, very loud even with earplugs in. The shower on the handle was good, however varied a lot in temperature went from freezing to boiling within seconds, the shower head placed on the ceiling was not useable- water would go all directions- looks like its happened a lot before as the paint was coming off of the ceiling. For the bath there is a shower head and no taps- so it took ages in fill. The bed was very hard and woke up with a few aches. There was no safe which could have been handy. You have to pay for tea and coffee in your room, however not at breakfast.
- Nora (10/5): - Super friendly staff - wonderful central location just around the corner from the astrological clock on Franz Kafka Square. Room clean and no problems with anything. Ensuite washroom had the luxury of a real bath and not just a shower stall. Delighted with everything, especially the life-saving computer and print facility at reception for doing 24 hr boarding pass check in! Would recommend to all friends!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful hotel in the heart of Prague - This was a great hotel for a stay in Prague.
The good:
1. Location – It cannot get better. The hotel is right outside of the Old Town Square and is a short walking distance from most major attractions.
2. Room – We had a spacious room with a bathtub and a nice view of the street outside. Since we were high up, we did not hear noise from the street. The room itself was very quaint.
3. Staff – Friendly, helpful staff.
The bad:
1. Hotel walls are thin, so if you have noisy neighbors this is not so good. There were some drunk guys in a room downstairs and you could hear them throughout the hotel. However, the front desk staff made sure that our room was far from theirs, which I really appreciated.
2. The hotel is not disability accessible. There is no elevator and the stairs are quite difficult to climb, even for someone in good health.
3. Breakfast is not so good.
Overall, the good by far outweighs the bad. I would strongly recommend this as a place to stay, and would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff good sized room and lovely breakfast
- Sierra (8/5): Unique - Each room is different so when we extended our stay we changed rooms and the second room was not as nice
- John (8/5): Great location, nice warm room, breakfast avoid! - Well location of hotel was brilliant, easy 5-10 minute walk to Charles Bridge, next to old town square. Right I never researched details of hotel, as this has no lift and 4 floors to climb, which our daughter (Disabled) struggled with, otherwise would of asked for lower ground floor, room was spacious and comfortable, most of all Warm, as weather was very cold while we were there, bathroom was ok except for very loose shower head bracket, reported it, and was told someone would fix it, come back after day out.....bracket wasn’t touched, mentioned it second/third day to other person on reception and this time it was fixed eventually for our last day! Bedding was clean, I dropped some coins on the floor looked under bed and found it hadn’t been cleaned as the floor was very dusty. Now for the NEGATIVE stuff, continental breakfast was awful, cereal, bread, squashes, milk, t bags, hot dogs, cheese, ham, salami, tried all this only things I never tried was, yoghurt & fruit & tomato, was here 4 days, and all I had for 3 days after first was tea & toast, had to buy daughter Bananas & Croissant elsewhere and kept in room. I really enjoyed my first visit to Prague, location of this was as stated very good, room nice & warm, I would actually stay here again if/when I return back here, so overall I enjoyed it, couple of mishaps.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely hotel. Strange layout indofar as reception and rooms were concerned and the stairs to the room were hsrd going but overall we had a wonderful stay. Room spotless and reception staff really helpful. woukd definitely recommend.
- G (8/5): - Big room, great location, locked reception which was manned so felt secure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ideally placed near to the Old Town Square and within easy walking distance of the main sights eg Charles Bridge
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location in Prague. Lovely old building. Great for couples.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location, Bad choice. - This hotel has a great location, but lacks in many other areas.
It is a bit off putting to start when guests are not given access to the building but need to be buzzed in by someone at the front desk. While we were promised it was staffed at all hours we invariably ended up waiting a couple times while the front desk staff had stepped away.
The next impression of the hotel
Is that every effort has been made to cut costs: burnt out light bulbs, flickering lights in the corridors, and the most comically small packets of cheap shampoo and shower gel offered as in room toiletries (proper shampoo is of course available to purchase at the front desk).
The old world charms don’t stop with creaky floors and walls so thin you can hear a conversation in the next room. Due to what I’m sure is very very old plumbing the toilet is fitted with a small holding tank and a very loud pump which whizzes away after each flush - that itself isn’t terrible, but the whole apparatus leaves the bathroom constantly smelling a bit like a sewer.
We chose this hotel for its location and were wooed by the photos of what looked like a charming room. Given the choice we would definitely avoid this hotel in the future.
- Roberta (6/5): - Amazing location
Close to main square
5 min walk to Charles bridge
Breakfast ok
Don’t ask for an upper floor
94 steps to the top floor
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location, perfect staff, perfect character, excellent value for money! :)
- Kasey (8/5): Serious Water Leakage from the Room Ceiling - There was a serious water leakage that dripping from the ceiling continuously in my room I stayed. Even though the touch up had been arranged by hotel immediately, but it lasted for 2 days for reinstating. However, the next day was my wedding day and photographed inside my room.... so I feel disappointed overall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): good location - Location is great. hotel is out of date.
AC didn't work very well, but around the city is the same... they just don't have strong AC like american do.
- Maggi (2/5): - Never stayed although payed for 2 nights.. Sold our room as we didn't arrive on the arranged date (which they were informed about) wouldn't believe it untill I showed them the email as proof.. Reception didn't have a clue as to what too.. Terrible experience as we just landed and came from airport... Had to find us alternative accommodation.. Not recommended!!
- Mel (4/5): Disappointing stay - Although not listed on the hotel website, there was no lift as the building was Heritage Listed.
This was fine if you are on the ground level or even level 1.....we were on the top level (3) and were shocked and disappointed to find this out only when we got there.
There were approx. 50 stairs (narrow and high steps) to our room. On arrival the male staff member carried our luggage to our room however on departure, we were advised that the only way we could have our luggage taken down was to book a shuttle through the hotel, or carry our luggage ourselves!
Room - the Double bed was 2 singles pushed together and the pillows were very flat and not comfortable. Although the room was fully serviced on the first 2 mornings, the subsequent mornings, only the towels were changed and no other service provided. This includes beds not being made and toiletries replaced in the bathroom.
Breakfast - was very limited and the only hot items were sausages - no variation throughout the 5 days we stayed.
Tea & Coffee facilities in our room - very disappointing to be told upon arrival that each tea bag / coffee sachet would be charged at 1 Euro each. Every other hotel we have booked at, offers this complimentary and we assumed this was standard across accommodation.
Overall, we were left disappointed with our stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst hotel I ever stayed in. - This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. The staff was extremely rude. I dont even have words to explain how rude. The hotel was not clean. The walls were so thin we could actually hear the people in the room next to us stir their cup of tea. We could hear EVERY word of their conversations. We were told no noice in the rooms between 10 pm -7 am, not even tv allowed between thoes times. The breakfast was really bad too. To call it a breakfast was a joke. The only good thing with this hotel is the location which was perfect and Prague is such a fantastic city.. I would never go back to this hotel.
- Nick (10/5): Great location - The hotel was very centrally placed just next to the entrance to the town square. Lovely characterful hotel. Very spacious room/apartment. We got upgraded to a 2 floor 6 bed apartment (only 2 of us!). Very spacious. Up 3 flights of stairs but had previous postings about this so expected it.
- Maltessa (10/5): Very nice hotel. Was in a lovely location - The hotel was lovely. The location was close to everything we needed. We had never been to Prague and our trip was brilliant. Lovely place. Beautiful . We will be definitely going back. And we would love to go back to the same place and hotel we stayed at. Had a brilliant holiday.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our bedroom was up 68 stone spiral stairs.
No lifts no offer of help.
You could hear everything going on in the bedroom next door.
The shower dripped all the time.
If you are using this hotel and are not good with climbing many steps, request a lower level room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location and service! - The location is excellent being right around the corner from Old Town Square and within walking distance of the Charles Bridge. Location is accessible by car - don’t have to drag suit case over cobble stone for a long distance.
Hotel service was excellent - they have many tours available to book and are able to arrange transport for both local sites and other cities.
- Mark (6/5): - Room was on 3rd floor with long steep flights, which was hard work. Breakfast very basic. Location excellent, room tired but clean, staff very helpful.
- Raymond (8/5): Nice hotel close to all tourist attractions - 1 minute to old town square
2 minutes to the astronomical clock
5 minutes to Jewish quarter
10 minutes to Charles Bridge
- Joe (10/5): Hidden gem in heart of old city - location location location.no lift and small.friendly we wrer on first floor in huge room. Bathroom super modern but walls are clear glass..should have been frosted for privacey. Standard breakfast very helpful stall exvellent vaue.
- Mo (8/5): Stairs & no elevator!! - Good location in old town, walking distance from everything. No elevator and no valet. I do not recommend because it was awful to carry my suitcase 3 floors.
- maria isabel (10/5): Perfect location near the Old town square - Location was perfect, around the corner of the Old square with easy access to all activities and restaurants.
Access to computer to flight check-in, good breakfast.
Only small drawback was that we were assigned a room on last floor and there is no lift. Only 3 floors to go up so it was not too bad.
- Beth (6/5): Decent Hotel, Terrible Bed - This hotel is in a fantastic location, but we were disappointed with the beds and the continental breakfast was incredibly minimal.
- Shelley (8/5): Great service in the heart of beautiful Prague - The staff of this little hotel go way above and beyond anything we have experienced on our 17 day stay in Europe. This is a hotel that was built in 1500 so you cannot expect it to be the Ritz! However, they make up for that in service. The rooms have tall ceilings with beams. There is no lift so this may be a problem for older or disabled travelers.
- Tremeka (2/5): The Most Uncomfortable Hotel - There are 4 reasons to stay away from this hotel.
#1: the beds were like concrete. My back began to hurt within the first 15 minutes of lying down. I had slept just fine on cots with springs in my back in other cities, so I'm not spoiled. This was bad! I could barely get out of the bed the next day. I asked the receptionist if there was any padding that could go on the beds. She said no. So I slept on top of the thin comforter that was my cover. It was not much, but it helped a little.
#2: the dirty toilet that greeted us upon our arrival. It was quite evident that it hadn't been cleaned. I was told the housekeeper had gone for the day so we'd have to wait until the next day. That wasn't going to happen. I cleaned it with my antibacterial wipes...in disgust.
#3: the hotel falsely advertises air conditioning in the rooms. Only the rooms on the top floor have it, the lower floors do not. It was very hot the first day. Luckily, the weather really cooled off the next two days.
#4: the hotel employee who sat on the last step of the stairwell as we checked out. We had to maneuver around her to avoid hitting her with the luggage. I tripped in the process and almost fell. She just laughed.
The room was paid for in advance. I could not afford another hotel, otherwise I would've left after being told there was no one to clean the toilet after checking in. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
- Mercedes (8/5): Great hotel, in the very center of Prague - Great experienece. Great location. Good breakfast. Nice staff.
- larissa (8/5): Decent place for the price - Hotel is pretty decent. There's no air conditioning. A small table fan. It wasn't very hot while I was there but I'm glad the fan was there, otherwise I was sweating. The shower- no door no curtain and the shower head wasn't very secure therefore the floor was soaked. There's no elevator. So if you're on the top floor like I was , it's a bit of a work out to lug your belongings. Small breakfast with a couple of deli meats and cereal and bread. Location is nice, 2 minute walk from old town square. Many restaurants nearby. Hard Rock Cafe is around the corner.
- Kerry (6/5): Basic! - Hotel basic but that's all we wanted when we booked. Our room slept three however the bathroom was tiny and to be honest not in the best state. Soap holder was much and they had missed cleaning the middle door of the shower.
Free Wi-Fi, printing facilities in reception, DVDs to borrow etc all really good but then they run it by charging for tea and coffee in the rooms!
Breakfast room in my opinion is not sufficient for the size of the hotel, always crowded and running out of food, am experience not improved by the rude and stroppy lady who tops things up and clears entity tables,
This isn'ta bad hotel there are just some trivial things to bear in mind before booking.
- John (8/5): A great location next to the main square - The hotel is in a perfect location in the old town. The building has lots of character and is very old. Breakfast was very basic and the breakfast room too small. Lots of steep stairs if you stay at the top but the rooms have character. Would stay here again though.
- Debra (10/5): Fabulous location - Everyone was so nice. Very helpful. Called us a cab to take us to the airport. Nice continental breakfast daily. Small fridge in room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good for old architecture lovers. - good but be aware old architecture issues.
No elevator. Only narrow stairs.
Bathroom ceiling has too low part and i need have to have shower in sitting in the tab.
But these inconveniences are acceptable for me cause I chose this hotel cause it is old architecture. If you love it too, this hotel is good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel in Prague - Nice hotel on the side of Old Square, near to bars and restaurants and easy walking to major sightseeing.
Hotel staff friendly and great size room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Prague was nice but a little hectic. It was a lot more commercial than a few years ago.
