Guest Reviews
- mikewZ6631CL (2/5): Do Not Stay Here – Bedbug Infestation and Total Nightmare Experience - We stayed at the Sonder Henri in NYC, October, 24th and found bedbugs in our room after just one night. From what we could tell, the entire 17th floor is likely infested. We showed photos of the bugs to the front desk and sent them to Sonder, Airbnb, and Marriott Bonvoy (who owns the property). Instead of taking immediate action, they gave us the runaround and made refunding our money an exhausting, multi-day ordeal.
Our trip was completely ruined. Just five minutes before leaving for our daughter’s engagement party, we discovered the bedbugs. We had to throw everything into bags, rush out of the room, and head to the event with our suitcases in tow, completely panicked about finding another hotel in New York City on short notice on a Saturday afternoon.
After finally securing a new place across town, we had to check in late at night and spend the next day decontaminating everything. Once home in California, we had to seal our luggage in plastic bags, wash and rewash all clothing, and spend hours cleaning and worrying about bringing an infestation home.
This property should be inspected and fumigated immediately. The way management handled this situation was unacceptable.
Do not stay here. If you must, check every inch of your bed, sheets, and mattress, and avoid the 17th floor at all costs. Also, remember to look over you body closely as bedbug bites react differently to people. Some swell and get pussy, some make you sick, some don't even itch.
- Philippa (6/5): Good hotel, great location, very small - Overall quite happy with our stay. Location is great, 1 block away from the subway station. Furnishings in general were nice. Our coffee machine wasn't working and they replaced it with a new one very quickly. The shampoo and conditioner & soap was nice & good quality. Self check in was very convenient. Aircon/ heating worked very well. The adjacent cafe/ bar did really good breakfasts & coffee & was reasonably priced. Quite a basic hotel so you're really just paying for the location. Very squeaky bed, and a random mix of 6 small pillows. Only 1 concierge so if they weren't there then you had to wait. The servicing of the room was very minimal, they really only re-made the bed every day, but didn't re stock the coffee or cups or water. There wasn't very good storage in the room, just a wardrobe but no draw space and no space to put suitcases, just a small amount of room around a very wide bed. Would be better to have a smaller bed. The room space is very small for what you pay for. Quite a few of the light fittings in the bathroom were broken.
- Francesca (9/5): Perfect location, comfy bed and spacious room by New York standards. - Perfect location, close to everything but nice and quiet ( away from the madness of Times Square etc). I’ve stayed here a couple of times and I find the rooms in this hotel comfortable and practical, and really spacious as well as quiet for NYC. The bar and things are closed at the moment, and one of the lifts was out. But there are so many good bars near by it really doesn’t matter. Eataly on the corner is a must.
- noelles117 (10/5): Perfect NYC hotel - This is a perfect NYC hotel. This is the first hotel I’ve stayed at that has an electric tea kettle. It also has a good wine opener, the heavy waiter style. In addition, it has a quality hair dyer, mini fridge and iron. All of these elements are what are important to me as a traveler. The location near the Flat Iron building was so central and easy to hop on the subway. So many nearby dining options. It’s a very quick walk to Eataly where I grabbed quick yogurt parfaits for breakfast and great pasta at their bars for dinner. Check in is at 4pm. I arrived at 3:00, and they gave me no hassle checking in early. Using a code for room entry was nice as well, not having to mess with key cards was a plus.
- Gaetano (7/5): Hôtel bien situé - L'emplaczment
- Daria (9/5): -
- zilbert (2/5): Don't stay here! It's an unsafe place - OMG, stay away! They have no one on site and in case you need any help, you need to deal with a virtual assistant on chat that can't do anything.
There was a noisy room with loud music and screaming all night, and they did nothing!
What would happen in case of emergency? For your safety, don't stay here.
- Salliestone123 (2/5): Awful - Do NOT be fooled by the images on Trip Advisor. This hotel is dingy, filthy, depressing, noisy and is one to avoid.
There are two good things about Henri on 24; the restaurant beneath it is fantastic (great food, reasonable prices and great drinks) and the front desk staff are really lovely (shoutout to Justin and Ben). The front desk staff I interacted knew how bad it was but did their best with a smile.
My room was so noisy I had to turn off air con and it was September in NY city so it was hot. Not only did I have to turn it off to sleep I had to wear ear plugs, put on a podcast and take a sleeping pill. It was horrendous.
The rooms are dirty and dark. For reasons only known to management they covered the only window with plastic and tape. The is no reason for this given their were blinds you could pull?
The room was so dark you had to go around every lamp and light and turn them on to see yourself in the mirror. I was in town for fashion related business so travel with probably fractionally more clothes than most and the wardrobe was tiny and narrow so everything had to be slanted. it also hadn't been cleaned for what felt like decades.
No one cleans the rooms unless you ask them too. No rubbish cleared, no fresh towels ... and you need towels to mop up the shower leaks.
The elevator has issues and because I don't like confined spaces I used the stairs. I'm glad I did given the reports of the elevators stopping.
Honestly, I usually stay at a place around the corner but it was booked due to UN General Assembly and this was the nearest option. Huge mistake. Never again. Grotty and depressing. I was stuck in a nightmare for 10 days and nights.
10/10 for the front desk staff but 0/10 for the hotel. Nothing like the images here.
- GayTravelGuyDC (4/5): Bad Stay - Basic...more like lacking. I know New York is very expensive, but I felt really let down for my $550 and the room we got at this hotel. To start, it's bare bones, cheap, and cramped for two people. Again, it's New York so I expected small. Anyway, the little bath towels were really thin, the not very effective shades had the base broken off, there was painters tape outlining the window, etc. The door slam shut and since there's no carpeting, it's VERY loud. Our very inconsiderate neighbor let it do that about 10 times around 11pm, I suppose as they were busy with their own selfish existence. Of course, there's no front desk staff to help with it. So, lesson learned about this form of a "hotel."
- Marta (9/5): -
- Tess (10/5): - Locatie was uitstekend, kamer prima en bedden comfortabel. Personeel heel vriendelijk en fijn dat we zelf koffie e.d. konden aanvullen. Geen minpunten!
- sarahbeth37 (6/5): Could Be 5 Star But Is a 3 Star - Great location, great concept, room is huge for Manhattan. While not owned by Sonder or Marriott, the restaurant and rooftop bar are fantastic. But what should be a 5 star review is 3 at best. Housekeeping is atrocious. I stayed for two weeks and had a moldy toilet by the end of the stay. I reported this in the app and at the front desk, and it never got cleaned. I had to ask for a broom to sweep my room and instead of getting the hint to properly clean my room, they brought me the broom. It was a fight to get towels. I was told they were having trouble finding clean towels to bring me and yet when the elevator stopped at a floor before mine, there was a cart loaded down with towels. The housekeeper would have given me as many as I wanted.
Marriott and Sonder have finally worked out the free late check out for Ambassador level in the app, but they have not worked out the TV and internet access for a late check out and I was once again logged out at 11 AM for a 3 PM check out with meetings all day.
I am really rooting for Sonder to succeed and be great under Marriott, but I am so far underwhelmed or disappointed.
- MICHELINA (2/5): - Mi hanno addebitato 200€ in più rispetto al prezzo indicato da Booking nella prenotazione
- 89dewaynew (4/5): Better values elsewhere - First the positive - a/c was cold and reliable. That’s it.
Never staying here again. Very poor value for the rates. No lobby, cleaning crew gave us 1 towel for two people l and no coffee cups. Worst was the elevator - only two of them and mostly out for 2 of the 3 days we were here. Tiny rooms and tv was streaming only and required constant logins.
- Markus (8/5): -
- Vargas Ocampo (10/5): Feliz y excelente servicio -
- Christian (4/5): 2 noites sem água quente - Localização excelente 2 noites sem água quente
Ar condicionado muito barulhento
Box do banheiro vazamento agua no piso
Quarto bem apertado
- Fearless729360 (2/5): Longtime Sonder guest—this experience was inexcusable. - Longtime Sonder guest—this experience was inexcusable.
I regularly use Sonder when traveling—especially in Chicago—and have never had an issue. But my stay at Sonder | The Henri on 24 in Chelsea (NYC) was deeply disappointing and genuinely unsafe.
I woke at 4:30 AM to find the entire floor of my room wet. Not damp. Wet. There was no leak from above or appliances—just condensation across every inch of flooring, enough to soak through socks and pose a serious slip hazard.
I contacted Sonder through their app. The response:
“I reached out to onsite security to see if they can provide towels. I just checked the property and unfortunately there isn’t anyone on site until 7am nor are there any other rooms available.”
No escalation. No alternative. No human contact until morning.
And let’s be clear—this is not a sudden, one-time problem. Condensation like this doesn’t form out of nowhere. The room was set to 68°F when I arrived, clearly to suppress a known humidity issue. When I adjusted it to a normal 73°F, moisture appeared almost immediately. Turning it back to 68°F slowed it—but that’s not a solution. That’s a cover-up.
This isn’t just about discomfort—it’s about health, safety, and basic accountability. Sonder’s tech-based model offers no real-time support when something goes wrong. In this case, I was left alone in a flooded room with no help for hours.
I’ve trusted Sonder for years. But this experience was inexcusable—and needs to be addressed at the operational level.
- Lisa (8/5): Pleasant - The position/location within the city Rubbish backed up at the door & no safe in the room
- Nishadi (9/5): Awesome experience with very clean and comfy room. - It was an awesome place. Very clean. We stayed there for 3 nights and we were most of the time outside traveling to places. Most famous places were just walking distance from this place. So it was really convenient for us. Overall the place was clean and comfortable. Nothing special to remember about what we didn’t like in it because there were all the things we needed. Overall nothing we missed.
- Ipek (10/5): Exceptional - The best if you visiting the touristic area
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- J5101XPjong (2/5): Look for something else - I am deeply disappointed with my recent stay at your property. I had expected a comfortable and professional experience, but unfortunately, what I encountered fell far short of even basic hospitality standards.
The room itself was small and poorly appointed. There was no dresser or appropriate space to store clothes, which made an extended stay highly inconvenient. More troubling was the overall cleanliness: the room had clearly not been swept or vacuumed prior to our arrival. The bathroom sink was clogged and drained so slowly it was barely usable.
There were also several issues that impacted safety and comfort. Most concerning, the room had no telephone. In case of an emergency, there was no direct way to contact the front desk or emergency services. Additionally, we were unable to access local news on the television—it continually prompted us to sign in to Roku, which we found frustrating and unnecessarily complicated.
The cleaning staff left used bedding and towels piled in the stairwell, which was not only unsightly but unhygienic. They also spoke no English, which made even simple communication very difficult. The beds were extremely soft and offered no support, which was physically uncomfortable and detrimental to my back.
Adding to our frustration, all locks are electronic, and no physical key provided. This made entering and exiting unnecessarily difficult, especially when technology didn’t cooperate. On top of all this, garbage was left sitting in front of the hotel entrance—unsightly and completely unacceptable.
The air conditioning system shut off overnight, making the room stuffy and uncomfortable during sleep.
We made several attempts to contact the hotel by email and social media. not one response
If you don't mind a Hostel, this may be your place but i would avoid it like the plague. Overall, I give this property and its operations a poor grade.
- Amber (8/5): Works for a short stay. Working from here is hard. - Nice overall, but didn’t quite live up to the price.
This hotel was generally clean, trendy, and in good condition—a solid option for New York City, where hotel standards can vary widely. The location was convenient for getting around by subway, which was a plus. That said, Flatiron isn’t my favorite neighborhood, and while the area felt safe enough, there’s not much charm compared to other NYC spots.
Our room was tight, which is expected in Manhattan, but the workspace was especially small, barely functional for anything more than checking email. We had a terrace, which was a nice feature in theory, but the metal table and chairs were uncomfortable, and the view wasn’t anything special—not really worth the upgrade in my opinion.
Service was fine, but not standout. Staff were polite, but I wouldn’t call it warm or memorable. What really stood out—and not in a great way—was the hotel’s eco policy. While I appreciate sustainability efforts, it felt a bit extreme to charge extra for room cleaning, especially when the nightly rate is on par with hotels that include daily service. I personally only request cleaning on longer stays, but still—this approach seemed more about cutting costs than cutting waste.
All in all, a decent hotel for a short stay, and it served its purpose for a quick stop on our way to Europe. I don’t regret staying here, but with so many options in the city, I’d probably try somewhere else next time.
- Susan (10/5): - It was perfect for a quick stay! Hole in the Wall was good and convenient! We could walk pretty much anywhere within a few minutes. Eatly was a block over, Grey Dog was a great breakfast hangout and transit was easy to find. The only thing I was sad about was the rooftop bar was closed Monday and Tuesday. The front desk was friendly and gave great recommendations. Would stay again.
- Katherine (6/5): Small dark basic room - Location Small dark room, awful pillows !
- Bryan (10/5): Best Location - I was admittedly a bit worried about the stay here because I read some questionable reviews. However, it was wonderful and easy! I’ve never had such an easy check in process. There was always staff at the lobby and they had an emergency stash of supplies available when they weren’t there. It was super easy to get towels or toilet paper whenever it was needed. The absolute best part of the stay was the location. It seriously couldn’t be a more convenient location. Tons of food and stores within walking distance. Many major tourist attractions nearby. We would gladly stay there again!
- Sheena (8/5): I wasn't in the room much but I appreciated how safe and comfortable it was. -
- Dimitra (8/5): - Clean conveniently located. Allowed us to check in early!
- Cheryl (8/5): Loved NYC. Nice accommodations - The location was very good. The staff were nice and accommodating. Mais service was only available 12-4 each day. This didn’t work with out schedule so we went two days without service.
- Lara (10/5): AMAZING - Everything. I love Sonder. I always stay with them. I liked everything.
- P1448TNjackr (8/5): Pleasant stay for the price - I needed a no-frills hotel for a few meetings in Manhattan. This is a "limited offering" hotel, yes, but I didn't miss anything that was "limited."
- The rooms are very small, but the bed was large and decently comfortable.
- The bathroom/shower are generous in size.
- No gym, but free access to a nearby gym, which is ultimately better than using a cramped hotel gym
There's some hallway and street noise, as with every other hotel in NYC. My room opened into the alley and I had very little street noise.
I really appreciated the zero-touch check-in. Upload your DL and CC ahead of time, get a keycode 24 hours before, walk right into your room. Way better than having to wait in line or deal with a front desk.
I'm docking one star because it's impossible to get a receipt for my stay; the links in their email don't work, and customer service has tried to send me a receipt without success. That's weird, and it speaks to the one downside of this model... customer service is entirely email/app based. But I'm sure it's fine for most stays.
- bronwyns194 (2/5): Do NOT Book This Disgusting Hotel - Saying the photos online misrepresent the actual hotel is a gross understatement. This hotel was one of the dirtiest I've ever been in—if not the dirtiest. Stains all over the bathroom floor. Hair everywhere. Dust everywhere. It took them until day 3 to properly clean my room. They came back on day 2 to re-clean after I told them the floors were disgusting and nothing was dusted. After that cleaning, the floors were untouched and nothing was dusted. Finally, they cleaned on the third day and paid attention to the floors and dusting, but that is wildly unacceptable. I’d also like to mention that I called after the first additional cleaning, but they’d gone home for the night, and there was no room available for me to move to. Unacceptable. I will say, the staff was so incredibly nice, but cleanliness is number 1 for me when staying in a hotel, and that is such a basic need. Fast forward to now, I was told I could get a partial refund, and I have been ghosted by the hotel. I have reached out at least ten times, and get "we will get back with you soon" as a response. I ended up doing a chargeback on my credit card.
- Griselda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabelle (8/5): Very good - The location, the beds No liquid creamer, soap/shampoo dispenser not easy to use, very loud heating/aircon system
- Rachel (8/5): - This was our first time staying at a Sonder and we loved it. We enjoyed the location of this property. Loved that the restaurants were in walking distance. The king size bed was very comfortable, too.
- hannahjP2806VC (8/5): Great location - we would stay here again - Sonder Henri is in a great location and is close to a subway stop which makes it easy to get around the city. Our room was on the second floor but was extremely quiet at night and we slept well. The room was small and basic but this was expected. The air con unit was noisy in the room but it was our choice to have this on so it was not an issue. Check in via the app was straightforward and we had no issues accessing the room via the app as our key.
We didn’t interact with any of the staff other than on our last day for support with an issue we had at check out. The receptionist was not overly helpful which led me to need to reach out to customer service for further support - this was the only negative from our stay.
We would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Extremely Dirty - I really hate to write this review because the staff members were very nice, but I can’t give anything above 2 stars. This place looks VERY different in photos than it does in real life, and my room was not clean upon arrival. Floors were so disgusting in the bathroom. Hair everywhere. There was dust on every surface. They did send someone to clean it, but the areas that were the dirtiest were still not clean. Upon arrival back that evening, I called again, and they said it was impossible to send someone to clean again that evening, and there were no rooms left to move me. They did come the next morning and clean everything, and the manager came to take a look and make sure it was clean. I bumped into her going to grab something I forgot in my room, and she was extremely apologetic. Overall, I cannot recommend even though they were all nice. They were given a crappy place to work with from the get go.
- Kimberly (8/5): - It was a nice place to stay and convenient
- Anonymous (5/5): Hotel looked much nicer in pictures and the shower flooding the bathroom was a big bummer. - Check in and check out was easy Shower slightly flooded the bathroom, staff ranged from quietly pleasant to grumpy, minimal amenities, cafe downstairs doesn’t open until 9 am, didn’t get room cleaned when requested and scheduled, bed overly soft and uncomfortable.
- Laxmi (8/5): Very good -
- Eva (10/5): Easy and comfortable - The room was clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for strolling Chelsea/Greenwich village during the day and enjoying dining and Broadway at night. It was easy getting around on foot and by subway. We'd definitely consider staying at this location and a Sonder property again.
- Emada (10/5): Exceptional -
- abhy (4/5): Dont stay here! - Small rooms, misleading image on the website representing your room. It’s got no safe to store valuables, no stirrer to stir your coffee, blackout curtains are not fully effective, very noise air conditioning! Our room was not cleaned for 4 days consecutively - is it an Airbnb charging hotel prices? Its the poorest hotel I have stayed in NYC at the highest prices I have paid - never recommend the Sonder brand again! Its like a ultra low cost airline where ypu really get very little and your happy to leave!
The ONLY positive was its location!
- Dennis (10/5): - Great front desk reception, super helpful and friendly. Thanks for making our stay a pleasant one!
- Susie (3/5): Good location but expensive basic accommodation - Ease of access Expensive basic accommodation
- Louis (8/5): - Great area and easy access. Room was a little small but did the job and great price.
- JennaCTravels (10/5): Beyond perfect stay - We picked this hotel for the location and wow was it a great choice! I had no knowledge of Sonder prior to this trip and will be staying at the other properties whenever I can. The room was spacious, everything was extremely clean, and I loved how quiet it was. The only noise we had was 1-2 nights there may have been an event (or maybe the rooftop bar was just open for normal hours) but it was that loud and we were 2 floors below it. The staff in the lobby was always greeting us as we entered and left throughout the day and the secure as friendly too! We didn’t have any issues and when we asked for extra towels they brought them up right away. The little cabinet in the lobby with things you may need through your stay (toilet paper, soap, coffee pods, etc) was really helpful along with the water refill station!
- gopi (10/5): - The place is clean and comfortable and easy to access across downtown. Service was nice
- 859feliciam (2/5): Can't Sleep Here - Do not take a room on 17th floor. Loud private parties and bar on 18th floor. No management on premises after 11pm to deal with noise orcany issues. No chance for a good night's sleep! Awful experience. Good luck with this hotel. Not worth the low prices.
- Alissa (8/5): - Fine accommodations for a quick nyc trip
- Paulina (10/5): - It was a nice and quiet stay here for me - easy check in and nice little restaurant in the first floor.
- Camryn (10/5): - Great hotel if you’re going out on the town! Great spots around.
- sparkythewonderdog (10/5): Definitely recommend ! - I have stayed here several times, near the office, good food locally, location is great. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Compact, but that is NYC. The bathrooms are quite big. Building is quite quiet. Prices depend on what is going on in the city so it can vary. Overall good value.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonya (10/5): - Would stay again
- N49ZPtammys (10/5): Short and sweet. - It was only a three-night stat. Love the app for opening the door and easy check-in and out. Pillows were just right. Didn't mind housekeeping by request only. Location was perfect for my class and seeing the sights. Great pizza just a few doors down.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great stay but horribly inaccurate texts - My stay was overall great but the hotel kept sending me inaccurate texts and calendar invites which scared me to death. I thought I had accidentally booked the place for 5 days instead of 1 because of this. It was a real issue.
- Alexey (10/5): Great Location + Renovated :) - Location is great. The hotel rooms are renovated in most essential places. Thanks no carpet in the room! Mobile checkin, mobile key were very convenient. Storing the luggage was very useful. Cafe on the first floor is very handy didn't bother much but maybe renovating the room entirely would be like a finishing touch
- TAECHO (8/5): 아주 만족합니다. - 위치가 정말 좋아 남부나 북부 어느쪽으로든 이동이 너무 편하고 지하철역도 주변에 너무 많아 완전 좋았어요.
- danieltY8832AE (10/5): Best bang for your buck - Was a little nervous because we weren't checking in until around midnight and I knew there probably wouldn't be anyone at the front desk, but the codes to get in worked perfectly and the check in was seamless. Room was big for Manhattan, and the balcony was very nice. And the TVs were Roku TVs! None of those annoying hotel TV remotes that barely work.
- Ilie (2/5): Very poor -
- Nele (8/5): Very good - It was quiet, clean and uncomplicated. The bed was making quite loud noises
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious room with everything we needed. In an excellent location, flatiron building 2mins walk. Nothing!
- Ericka (6/5): - Rooms were clean but in desperate need of a facelift - leaking showers, peeling paint - was disappointed given Sonder is affiliated with Bonvoy.
- Shelley Lane (10/5): - My son and I had a wonderful stay at Sonder Henri! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly!
- YUNKYUNG (2/5): - Everything was SO dirty. I had a high expectations but everything was so disappointing. The floor was dirty in the room, bed sheets and pillow covers are smelly and some dirty stuffs on. It didnt look like they changed the sheets? The sink was clogged, towels were smelly….just every single thing was so disappointed… when checking in, staffs were nice but when I checked out in the early morning, (i didn’t know how to check out online so I went to the front desk to check out) she was not nice… i won’t come back here to stay
- P6410BSmarkd (10/5): Great Hotel - loved everything about me stay. Close to Subway, easy to hail a taxi. Good restaurant downstairs with a discount for guests. Amenities available to grab on your own 24 hours, filtered water fill up station in lobby. App is easy to use and they have constant communication.
- Julia (6/5): Good location, but very unclean hotelroom - The bed was super comfy and big.The location exceptional, the staff very friendly The room wasnt clean. Maybe, if they cleaned every day they wouldnt have that problem (u have to pay for extra cleaning during the stay…). The nightstand was super dusty and there was hair stuck on the bathroomwall that was clearly not mine or my sons. A dirty hotelroom makes the stay not very enjoyable…
The trashcan was filthy!!! I have never seen something like this in a hotel!!
The shower was leaking-everytime we showered the bathroom was flooded.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Absolutely terrible check-in process — felt insecure to provide all my data over their app, and then the key didn't even work. I was late to a meeting because I spent 30 mins at the front desk trying to get a new key. 4 small, square pillows on the bed instead of standard sizes — very uncomfortable. Shower curtain was too short, bathroom ended up getting flooded. Avoid!!
- markhU3246PR (10/5): NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Everything was perfect! The staff was great, the rooms were perfect, could not have asked for anything better!! Overall, a really good experience and we had everything we needed. I would not change a thing. Loved being able to use my phone to enter my room as well. Everything was so smooth from the booking through the check out!
- Alexandra (4/5): - We ended up paying about $400/night for this place. The location is great (near all major subways) but it was small. It has fake wallpaper on it (the picture doesn't show that those aren't real walls) and, when we got there we found that you had to pay for cleaning up on arrival. There was a giant pile of trash outside that didn't cleaned up for days. I wouldn't have minded all this if we were paying, say, $250/night but the $400/night really rubbed me the wrong way. Will definitely stay somewhere else next time.

- jenniferwW5825QR (4/5): Bare bones, wouldn't stay there again - The Sonder hotel groups talks about hospitality which is interesting to me because the hotel felt very bare bones rather than hospitable. There's a tiny desk for check-in where they write down a 7 digit code to access your room, after that you're on your own. They never replenished the coffee pods in the room or came to service the rooms or even ask if you'd like a fresh towel over the stay.
The attached restaurant/bar was always closed in the evening so those amenities were lacking as well.
I lost a button on a shirt and asked at the front desk if they had one of those small sewing kits that many hotels leave in rooms or at least have access to, the response was a simple "no". There was no--let me see if I can find one. I called down to ask about a steamer because I was trying to iron a delicate fabric and use the steam feature on the iron but instead the iron was just spitting water out. No steamer. They did offer to bring me a different iron but it wasn't any better.
I'm used to NYC hotel rooms and the space was on par for what many are but the clothing storage situation was bad. The closet is small with 2 sliding doors so you can only access about 12" at a time and there are no drawers at all so once you use the provided hangers you can drape your clothing around the room. There was also nowhere to stow a bag.
My favorite thing about the hotel was that I got access to a gym which was a bit of a nice change from a small hotel gym.
Definitely wouldn't stay there again. The connection with "hospitality" was definitely lost on me.
- Cliff (8/5): - Cool modern, chic hotel. Very good soaps, etc. Digital everything, including the locks. Feels a bit understaffed, though. Rooms only cleaned every five days, which is no good for us as we had our kids with us this time. Location is very good. Subway on 23rd and Eataly just around the corner for food.
- George (8/5): - The Hole in the Wall restaurant in the lobby made a tasty cortado.
The staff at the desk was very helpful. The room was big enough. It’s not luxury but it was well kept and efficient.
- amit (10/5): Great location for exploring New York - Our stay here was great. The room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. We had a complimentary clean of the room half way during our stay which was a nice bonus. Staff were helpful and friendly.
- Camper18774695937 (10/5): Great NYC experience - Although the room was New York City small, it was very nice. Very clean. Not noisy. Bed was comfortable with plenty pillows. Shower was good size with good water flow. Property near enough to public transportation, restaurants and services. People at the downstairs lobby/desk were helpful and friendly.
- Elias (7/5): Regular, I would stay in one of the other hotels nearby instead just for housekeeping alone - No housekeeping services
No gym (partnership with a gym far away)
No elevator, once it took 25 minutes for one to come
- Kiara (1/5): 0 out of 10 do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel - How close it was to high streets Bathroom was dirty, mold on the shower, dust on bathroom light fixtures, they never cleaned our room for entire stay. There was no telephone in our room so we couldn’t call for room service to request more towels. There was only one working elevator which made wait times long. I was told their staff wasn’t always at reception desk when I asked about shipping items to hotel however during my stay I always saw employees at front desk accepting packages. They told me to ship my items to the incorrect address so I never got my packages and on top of all this they tried to charge me extra for an early check in.
The hotels policy of pay up front without any cancellation options is ridiculous and unfair. 0 out of 10 do not recommend anyone staying here
- Susie (8/5): Just what we needed. Clean, central in the heart of midtown. - Perfect central location. Fantastic shower pressure. All good
- littleredj (10/5): Great location/Neighbourhood. Would recommend. - Great location/neighbourhood by flatiron... great coffee spots nearbuy/restaurants/subways/park.
We went in colder weather. Room was neat and cozy. Great shower. Comfy bed & bedding. Has everything you would need, staff at front desk were lovely and always greeted us with a smile when coming and going. Felt safe.
Literally no complaints!
- FrankC_11 (10/5): Good location, good deal. - The room was clean and fresh. The rate was very good for this area and it allowed an extra charge early check-in which is extremely helpful. They held our bags for the day after checkout at no charge so we could knock about town on our final day without luggage. I would definitely stay here again.
- Dania (7/5): I would consider staying again if they fix the bed situation. - Location was amazing! The room was very modern and nice. The bedsheets. They were thin as napkins including the duvet, which was insubstantial. And just made the sleeping experience a really bad one and uncomfortable because it didn’t provide warmth. Tossing and turning to keep myself warm all night.
- Coenraad (6/5): - Very noisy AC
- Sofia (8/5): Very good -
- leagG8915DV (10/5): Centrally located to get Anywhere! - I lived in NY for 10 years before moving away. When I came back to visit, it was perfectly and centrally located, so I could easily get to Upper Manhattan or Brooklyn to visit friends. Plus, it has a cafe/bar in the lobby and a rooftop bar for the weekends. A Perfect stay!
- lynn (10/5): - Location and rooms were nice.
- MWeb1 (10/5): Clean, affordable, and a great location - My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Sonder Henri on 24! It was close to all of the 23rd Street subway stations and only about a 15-minute walk to Penn Station, even with luggage. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were clean. We didn’t spend much time at the hotel, but it was perfect for resting up before heading out to explore NYC. All of our interactions with the staff were positive as well. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a place to stay in Manhattan.
- wendylZ9210UC (8/5): Enjoyed it! - The room was clean en we did get an extra clean-up since we were staying a whole week. And over-all the room was specious, with a good bed. The people at the check-in desk were more than polite and helpful. Good location to get out into the city every day!
- Laura (8/5): Great location, lovely staff - Location & had everything that I needed I stayed for 5nights but would have loved the room to perhaps to be cleaned every other day
- Yonghyun (8/5): Very good - Location I think you deserve a free room cleaning if you stay more than 5 nights.
- Daniel (10/5): - Great location, very easy to go in and out of and a very friendly staff to help with any questions you may possibly have. 10/10 recommend.
- Alvaro (10/5): Great hotel, great location - Location
- Christy (10/5): - We had the absolute best time staying at Sonder Henri on 24th and we definitely will be coming back!
A special thank you to the amazing staff!
- Gabriela (10/5): - I really liked the keypad entry, being able to use our phones to unlock our door was super convenient!
- Michelle (8/5): - All was okay.
- Kim (7/5): Good - I love the location of this hotel. The rooms are decent size for New York City hotel. The staff was so sweet as well I didn't like the room was not completely spotless. The toilet broke and there was water everywhere. They did come up and fix it in about an hour so it wasn't terrible.
