• Andrea Guadalupe Espinosa (10/5): - Recommend to stay here 100% ! It’s in a good location to walk to St Marks & Ponte di Rialto! From train station St Lucia to here is a 28 min walk. It’s close to shops & the canals pass right outside to get a gondola.
• Siemon (4/5): - The hotel is really well located for Piazza San Marco, about 5 minutes walk. Also nearby Rialto bridge, with added value of a boat stop that gets you to the train station or the Marco Polo airport. Housekeeping was done every day despite the hotel initially saying this would not be. Room and bathroom were relatively small. The big issue is the lack of communication by the hotel and the incorrect info provided. We messaged them several weeks in advance with some questions but never got a response. They only messaged a day in advance about our arrival time (which we had already messaged them about). At the estimated arrival time they message me to get passport info before giving us access codes - that should be done way earlier of course as now we wait for something for no reason. We could not find the hotel as the instructions were not sufficiently clear: they did not pick up my WhatsApp calls but only messaged "what my question is". Never a response on my questions on how to get to the hotel - another tourist had to help us. Most important: they claim to have luggage storage but do not. I asked several times over WhatsApp how to leave luggage but got no response. Finally calling their general number resulted in a rude person. My WhatsApp message afterwards got a quick response of 'no luggage storage' which is ridiculous - now we had to spend money elsewhere which was unexpected (we got the hotel also for these kind of services!).

• X4975WXaur_lieb (2/5): Horrible experience - We arrived to the place, it was a self checking, the keys were supposed to be on the table, we saw nothing. As we knew the room number we went to the room, opened and realised a couple were already in our room and refused to leave as they were told by the hotel, that this were their room. After a very long time trying to reach them on the phone, they told us to go in another room, 20min away. We walked and arrived very exhausted with all our luggages, to the second hotel. There was an envelope on the table with someone else's name on it. The room was extremely small, there were no real window, no place to walk, only a bed. We booked a big room in the previous hotel and were very disappointed. We tried to ask for compensation as the location and the size of the room was not at all what we paid for - 0 answer. For this chaotic organisation and the lack of help, we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
• S5095GRmar (2/5): Horrible experience - The whole experience with Alla Fava Hotel was horrible. Our room was already occupied by other people who refused to leave the room. After 30 min we reached somebody from the hotel and were told to go to another hotel which was 20 min away. So we walked with our luggage in the heat after having walked already 30 min to Alla Fava. The room was tiny, the envelope with the keys indicated somebody else‘s name - double booking seems to be normal in this hotel as well. We tried to reach the hotel afterwards and get some explanation / compensation - no reaction.

Fortunately, the hotel across the street was able to help me. Due to the situation, my stay was cancelled and I received a full refund from Trip.com. Absolutely not recommended!
• 709nitinc (2/5): Very BAD - What I liked: Unfortunately, I did not find anything to like about the service provided by Alla Feva Hotel. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The service was extremely poor, and we encountered multiple issues throughout our stay. It was stressful and completely different from what we expected. What I didn’t like: I had booked the hotel nearly 15 days in advance and paid the full amount online. I even called and shared our check-in information two days prior to arrival. However, upon arrival, the experience turned out to be terrible. After reaching the hotel’s main door, I called the number posted outside. It was busy several times, and on the third attempt, someone from the support team finally answered. From that point on, they only communicated through WhatsApp — no further calls. They sent me a code to enter the building and access the reception area. I was instructed to collect keys for room number 9001. However, there was no key labeled 9001 at the unmanned reception counter. The keys available were numbered 101 through 120. I even searched both the first and second floors, but no room 9001 existed. After messaging them again, they asked me to wait. I waited for 15 minutes with no further response. When I called again, they finally admitted there was a mistake on their end and that no family room was available at the hotel. They told me they had arranged for a room at another hotel — 4 km away — and that I would have to go there on my own. This cost me an additional €28 for boat travel. At the new hotel, a lady informed me that no room was available there either and instead took us to another building where she said a family room was available. It turned out the room had no private bathroom — only a shared one — which was unacceptable since I had paid for a room with a private bathroom. I contacted Alla Feva Hotel staff again, but they refused to help. The same lady then said one room with a private bathroom was now available in the main hotel building. We moved again. Unfortunately, that room had no working air conditioning, no basic facilities, and no service whatsoever. To make matters worse, I met other guests at the hotel who shared similar bad experiences with the service. Conclusion: This stay was filled with confusion, poor communication, and unacceptable conditions. I strongly advise avoiding this hotel — even if the rates appear cheap. The stress and inconvenience are simply not worth it.

I wanted to have a venetian experience. The bed was not so much comfortable but we powered through. I wished the AC that it had worked. We went in the summer, and it was hot, day in and day out. They provided a fan but didn't make too much of a difference.

The property is decrepit and the rugs and furniture worn and dirty. We left after one night, Expedia tried to get our money refunded, but hotel refused. We have photos of the bugs and our bites.

• celestef894 (2/5): Do not book this hotel in summer… - This hotel has a great location and would be classed as a budget hotel with small rooms and tired decor. Do not stay in this hotel in summer. The hotel lists air conditioning as an amenity - but our air-conditioner did not work. Two guests from different rooms told me their air-conditioners didn’t work either. Without air-conditioning in these small rooms it’s almost impossible to sleep in hot months. It was amusing that an AI generated review of this hotel mentioned being greeted by friendly staff. The management of this hotel is done remotely. Access is via a door code. Room keys are left on the desk for guests to access. I met a lovely cleaner and as far as I could work out only cleaning staff are actually present at the hotel. They work part time and organise the keys for guests. This means if you have a problem you need to text the remote staff. If you contact them out of business hours you receive an Out of Office reply. Today is Sunday - first thing this morning I sent a text notifying the hotel my air-conditioning was not working and requesting a room change. More than 12 hours later I still have not had a reply. I would advise people strongly not to book this hotel as with no permanent desk staff it is logistically very difficult to try and get problems resolved.

The portable cooler is not sufficient to cool the room, so the room stayed very hot. It is very close to attractions and eateries. It is quiet. The room is clean and outside surroundings. • John (4/5): - ONLY good thing was the location. “Air conditioning” is just a tiny mobile unit that they don’t event have a vent for the output. We booked the “double deluxe canal room” and it was just two twin beds pushed together. They had nobody at check in desk, phone number didn’t work, and when somebody finally did show up she acted like we were inconveniencing her for needing to check into the hotel.
• Tia (2/5): - Would rate this place a -1000 if given the option! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! It says they have air conditioning, they DO NOT! It’s probably 100+ degrees in there. There is NO ONE available to talk to in person or on the phone. They leave a key for you in a ziplock bag with your name on it on the desk and you’re just left to figure it all out. ZERO customer service whatsoever! When we couldn’t stay there because of how damn blazing hot it was, hotter inside than outside, and smells like a nursing home to boot, we couldn’t get in touch with anyone! We didn’t stay, had to book another hotel and just had to leave the key on the desk. I booked through Travelocity and called them and was on the phone for more than an hour with their customer service and have yet to get my refund for this place that should be considered less hospitable than a hostel! DO NOT book with this hotel unless you want the same god awful experience!

To start, they don’t communicate with you before arriving, there’s no one at the reception and you have to call a number to let you in which takes time for them to answer. Hotel smells horrible and it’s not clean at all. Rooms are mostly like a sauna, it’s so hot that we could barely sleep. Overall it was a horrible experience and do not recommend it not even for only a night. It made my visit to Venice a nightmare.

Wish there was more food options but Venice is full of food so it wasn't too challenging. One thing i really wish is that there was more decoration or home touches to the place. All around it was fine but my room did feel like a white walled closet and did not help with my mental space while I was there. Could just be a me thing though!

• booboobunions (6/5): Basic and Noisy. - My bed was comfortable and the linen was clean. The room and shared bathroom were spotless. Our window opened out onto the small square in front. Wooden shutters kept the light out. There was a very small TV, high on the wall with only Italian TV stations on. Also, there was a sink in the twin room. There was also a wall hairdryer wired into the wall - but the online hotel facilities list did not mention this. All in all, I thought the long, narrow room resembled a nun's cell. The location of the hotel was good, it being close to St Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge. There was a small Coop nearby and some reasonably priced basic restaurants. However, it was mostly a tourist area and I could not find a bakery. Despite all of the favourable points, I would not stay here again. The old brass key locks are extremely noisy and going out to the shared bathroom (unlocking and removing the key to open the locked shared bathroom) woke the other person sharing the room, every time. This resulted in nights of broken sleep. The walls are quite thin. There is no kettle in the room. Obviously, we were supposed to use the foyer vending machine. However, I don't like getting hot drinks out of a machine because I am unsure of the machine's inside cleanliness. The tea that I eventually bought was tiny. It was absolutely unsuitable for a Brit who wanted a decent brew. I noted that there was a kettle in the staff kitchen. I looked longingly at it. The levels of comfort and facilities are lower than I would normally enjoy.

• Mohd (2/5): Worst hotel in the world!! - I had booked the Quadruple Room, Canal View, for one night on Aug 16, 2024. I had the worst experience of staying at a hotel ever. They publish the following amenities, none of which are true. 24-hour front desk Concierge services Luggage storage Tour/ticket assistance The rooms are all comfortable and equipped with Wi-Fi and TV Most of all, air conditioning and heating! These are all blatant lies! There is no air conditioning whatsoever! There is only a stand fan, not an A/C, which can't cool the room. It was close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit when we visited and even after complaining several times, they said there was nothing they could do. There is no receptionist so they can't provide any of the services they mentioned. Please read just a few reviews on your site to see what other travelers have experienced staying at this hotel. I demand a full refund of my charges and delisting of this property from hotels.com.

• Kashani (8/5): - Great area. Check in is a bit complicated. A deposit has to be paid, everything is via web linked, so hard to speak to someone when you need help. The property is clean and has AC. Close to everything in Paris.
• Kevin (6/5): - This property was in a convenient and walkable location to all the landmarks we wanted to see. We loved the charm of this hotel. Important note: you must have coins for the vending machine and the front desk does not make change. Also - there is no laundry at this location. We we planning to do laundry at this point in the trip but had to wash everything by hand in the sink which would have been ok - however it was so humid that nothing was drying so we ended up taking a load to the dryers at a laundromat across town.
• hamzah (2/5): - The only thing i liked about this hotel is the location, otherwise there wasn't a 24/7 help desk neither laundry as was mentioned in the profile of the hotel disciption; the staff weren't helpful enough and rude, they gave us a room stink: they did not gave us the receipt when we paied and when we asked for the receipt they said when we check out: we checked out at 6:30 and no one was at the infront help desk,
• May (2/5): - This hotel was terrible. Dirty, Old, and there was NO AC even though it is advertised as such. The only good thing about the hotel was its location. WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

• Ken (10/5): - Great location easy walking to Rialto Bridge and St. Marks square. Many restaurants and Pastries nearby. Arrival by train: take the Public Water Bus in front of the train station to the Rialto stop. A very short walk from there with minimal bridges with stairs to climb with luggage. Private Taxi boats are very expensive.
• Sandra (4/5): - The room and bathroom was clean and they provided good assistance over the phone, but the rooms and bathrooms are incredibly tiny, the a/c was not working, and the structure can use a ton of repair and maintenance.
• Randal (6/5): - Hotel was in a nice location. Hotel room very small and outdated. No A/C very hot and couldn’t open window due to mosquitoes. The staff was great.
• Joseph (8/5): - Clerk was rude, since they requested copy of Passport by email a couple of hours prior to checkin. I found it a bit odd and called aprox an hour before arrival to very. On phone conversation she indicated it was ok and that they had front desk checkin until midnight. Later received a message indicating the the room key would be at front desk, and checkin would be completed next morning. In the morning she was very rude questioning why I did not send my passport by email, althoug I explained that Expedia did not allow the email adrees in the message. Also, on Expedia reservation process checkput was 11:00am, and hotel informed it was till 10:00am. Only good thing is that room had a nice view of the canal.
• Kelly (4/5): - Authentic. But night staff was not welcoming. Room is hot with a/c running. Room is too small and light bulbs needed replacing. Shower is big enough for a petite woman only.
• Brady (2/5): - Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Spend over 50 nights per year in hotels and this is the worst ever. Booked 2 nights but only stayed one even though they refused to refund the second night. Thus I lost 500 euros as I had 2 rooms. Never stay here for any reason. Could give lots of details and pictures if asked as I documented the facility other than the collapsing floor in room 115 that was hard to show in pictures.

• Flyer10151245210 (10/5): One of the best weeks of our lives - My husband and I finally made a trip to Venice and everything was fantastic. Regarding the hotel our review is very favorable. It's a clean, well-lit place, very coveniently located, with a great staff. We were delighted to meet Griselda at the reception desk and follow her advice every day. She is always willing to help with impecable manners and a winning smile. The lady who does the rooms, Mirela, is also super friendly and hard working. We will definitely choose Hotel Alla Fava if we return.
• Zazil (10/5): - I booked a room with a bath, because you always have to read the description of what you are booking, and the room was just what I needed. It was very clean, the staff was nice, I'd stay there again.

• David (6/5): - Location is perfect for Venice - everything is within a 5-10 minute walk. Also has water transportation nearby. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed in a quad room and it was spacious with the other reviews accurately depicted the style and condition. Our room looked out over the canal which was really nice. Biggest issue for us was the change of season and AC not yet switched over making he room like an oven during the day and barely bearable overnight.
• John (2/5): - Very disappointing. The property is very run down. The halls have a foul odor, the A/C didn’t work, the room was in bad condition, there was black mold on the bathroom ceiling. Very noisy area late at night. We paid $500/night and it was shocking how bad it was
• P5401ZLsofiaa (8/5): Will do very well for a cheap visit to Venice - Visited the hotel early May. We unfortunately got scammed on the hopper app out of a hotel we thought we were going to and this hotel was the cheapest available option. We are very grateful to the hotel for accommodating us for 4 nights within an hours' notice. The rooms were clean and tidy apart from mold in the bedroom and bathroom walls. However this isn't an uncommon sight in a city so full of water. Hotel was GREAT location from St. Marks Square (literally 5 minutes) and 15 minutes from the waterbus Fte. Nove A airport dropoff. Hotel staff were very helpful and there was a vending machine with very cheap drinks in the lobby. We bought our own breakfast so can't comment there. The only thing I wish could have been better was our view. We had solid brick wall 50cm away from our window and could not see or receive any light, but I guess the way the hotel is built that can't be changed. Overall a very good deal for the price and well worth it if you're looking for a cheap break to Venice!

• FrankCGlazer (2/5): Worst Hotel manager ever!!! - There are travel stories, then there are travel STORIES! The Hotel is owned and operated by the WORST businessman in history. As we are awaiting our tour guide, in a very small piazza, we spot a beverage vending machine in the hotel lobby. We enter, passing the front desk, go directly to the machine, put in the necessary coins, make the selection, and then NOTHING! The owner then comes from behind the desk and chastised us for “not being hotel guests” how in the world does the machine know??? He must have it rigged with a switch to not dispense a bottle when pushed. SAD & still thirsty.
• Jason (8/5): Great location - This hotel is a little rough around the edges, but it is a nice, central, and walkable location with a great staff for a low price. The room was comfortable, but the walls were thin. There was a woman that would talk on the phone for an hour or more each night and we could hear everything. The toilet had an issue where it would run continuously, which we were able to solve, and it did look like there might be a tiny amount of mold under one of the windows. It could probably be upkept more, but I am satisfied with our stay!
• Guide776653 (10/5): Another fab stay - We've been coming to Venice now for 30 years.. and haven't yet experienced any bad hotels.. This one is no exception.. It's true, as with everything in life, you get what you pay for... I do think this offers slightly more than some in the same price range.. an Excellent coffee machine and vending machine offering snacks and water. Not the largest cup of coffee in the world, but at 70cents well worth it and a bottle of water to take out with you as you start the day at just 1 euro . How can you complain. Staff are very friendly (remember guys there may be a language barrier.... but I don't speak Italian but have always managed a very pleasant conversation with everyone I've met there) some rooms are small.. but they are clearly described on their website .. if you want a large room... book one. If you want a view, pay for it! All we really need is a clean room with somewhere comfy to sleep.. I've always found this... • Arianne (10/5): - This property is a hidden gem! it is close to everything, very well located, without being noisy outside. The staff is very nice and polite.
• ylandm01 (4/5): All accommodation in Venice is expensive! - Your money won't buy you much when it comes to accommodation, that's a fact but even allowing for that, this hotel is greatly over-priced! We booked through booking,com, influenced by the pictures shown there - DON'T BE! Starting with the foyer/lobby they are misleadingly grand. We will be advising booking.com accordingly. We had little contact with the staff but what we did have was acceptable enough; the room, however, was not: It was tiny, foot traffic was one-way-one-lane only; the aircon took 12 hours to reach passingly cool - it was only On or Off - it was held together with duct tape; the bathroom wasted valuable space on a bidet [ seriously, how many people really use a bidet? ], no 'hot' water - warm+ at best and then it was intermittent, coming and going as it pleased; "Good location"? No better than many other options, better to say, 'Not a bad location'. Frankly, while we wouldn't condemn this hotel, we can find no reason to recommend it.

Room was very old fashioned (intense wallpaper and bedding felt claustrophobic) and no space whatsoever around the bed or in the bathroom. Relatively clean. Relatively cheap for location but would not stay again. Hallway carpet also quiet dirty. Shower extremely small.
• Mark (4/5): Poor Quality Stay - We booked 2 triple rooms to house my family. One room was obviously a smokers room and no amount of venting could get rid of the stench. The hotel manager was unable to change it. The other room had paper thin walls with all activity in adjacent rooms in clear earshot. Not great for the children! And being kept awake most of the night by a loud snorer just about capped things off. I cannot recommend this hotel despite its great location.

I booked the superior double room with canal view after seeing the photos online, but the room I received was not the same as the photos and I could only just see the canal looking sideways from the window which was disappointing. I did raise this and was told the room on the canal is apparently very noisy in the early morning due to boats passing. They also offered a free 'large' breakfast at a local cafe which was a crossiant and coffee. It's nice inside the hotel although the room didn't have proper curtains so as soon as it was light outside it was also light in the room

• A (8/5): - The room was perfect if you were only there to sleep in. Very small but has everything you need for a night or two. The bathroom didn't seem to be deep cleaned due to there being stale urine under the garbage can. My husband and I were honeymooning on a budget and this worked out perfectly aside from the issue above.
