Guest Reviews
- christopherrR2772CO (10/5): Google maps is wrong. - Google maps sends you to the wrong hotel. The actual hotel is 10 meters up the steps on your left on top of the Chinese and Sushi express restaurant.
It took me 30 minutes of dragging a suitcase around to find it. No security guard, taxi driver or random person had a clue where it was.
- Ghassan (8/5): - Very conveniento
- Natalya (8/5): The Best location in Istanbul - Perfect location near main transportation (Funicular, Metro station), as well as the main tourist attraction: Istiklal street, Galata tower and others.
Very friendly Staff.
- lizzyw189 (2/5): Don't stay here! - Roof terrace wasn't available due to construction work. (which could be heard from room during day).
Room smelt of stale cigarette smoke in spite of requesting non-smokingroom.
Disturbing services shaft outside rear 'window' of the room - total fire safety risk.
Grille to bathroom ventilation shaft had fallen off...not surprising given it had been stuck on with double sided sticky tape!
Wire for light fitting sticking out of wall with no light there.
We ended up going elsewhere as dreaded each time we needed to go back to the room.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Advertised roof terrace was closed for construction. In spite of choosing to stay on first floor to limit hearing rooftop construction this was still quite loud during the day.
Requested non-smoking room but there was a smell of stale cigarettes that made me feel sick.
Services shaft was the view out of the rear 'window' to the room. which is not fire safe! Grille had falled off bathroom ventilation riser...which is hardly suprising given it was stuck on with double sided sticky tape!
Wire for lighting sticking out of wall with no light on. Missing / non-functioning bulbs in several of the lights in the room. Felt so uncomfortable we ended up going elsewhere and were glad we did, in spite of the expense, as I ended up dreading returning to the hotel.
- Sarah (4/5): - Great spot, definitely antique. The showers are a little adventurous, but otherwise comfortable stay with wonderful and helpful front desk staff.
- Meredith (10/5): - Whenever I’m in Turkey I stay here. Walkable to most things. Convenient for dining and shopping. Near galata tower. Clean, friendly, they really take care of you. Not one complaint. Highly recommend.
- Ali (10/5): - Clean rooms, air cons are very good. Perfect location. Friendly staff
- Haley (10/5): Helpful and friendly - The men at the front desk are so helpful! They helped me get my bags up the stairs when I arrived and back down when I left. I didn't like my room and they gave me a better one. Lovely all around. Thanks
- Tysser (2/5): - Staff is nice
Towels skills
No parking I have to pay 11$ for parking out side far from hotel
Shower is 24’x24’ too small you can’t move
- Verified traveler (6/5): More or less, but in a nice location. - Just plain old normal. The hotel is between good quality and dilapidated. The location is great, the staff is nice, the hotel has seen better days. It is a bit expensive but I get the feeling that, in Istanbul at the moment, if you do not pay a decent amount, you will get very low quality.
- Nasir (2/5): - Very old and dirty
- RABE (10/5): - Best customer service and staff , especially the guys on the reception, they were great
- ch1msy (10/5): happy stay - Manager and other staff also very friendly. We arrived early and while checking out we got late. they did not crib or ask for any extra charge. but they were understanding and loving with broad smile. hotel is 600 meters away from galata tower and main street. beyond all this it is budget friendly.
only minuses they dont have breakfast but next door is a cafe and beyond this cafe there are many more cafes in vicinity.
cleanliness: 5/5
helpful: 5/5
affordable: 5/5
spacious: depends upon rooms you choose.
- Jacob (10/5): - Great place - affordable, friendly stafff, nice location and good value.
- Emine (10/5): - It was a clean, nice tidy hotel I will recommend for short city breaks it is heart of the beautiful Istanbul city. Staff was very helpful and friendly
- Dream21432606627 (10/5): Nice location and perfect for short term stay - Decent hotel, antique style building at a prime location close to all the touristic spots in Istanbul. Rooms and bathrooms a bit small but not a deal breaker especially if you’ll be mostly out and about and just use the room for sleeping. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, customer service and house keeping is great as well. Nice views from the fifth floor terrace which had a restaurant/bar before covid and is no longer open since the pandemic but guests are welcome to visit the terrace which has tables and chairs. Perfect for solo travelers and couples if you like to be close to all the action and just need a place to sleep and shower.
- Armin (10/5): - Great Host. Hotel very old. The best thing is that Hotel have great location.
- maralchehrehlangroud (6/5): Location: good/ room size: awful/ view: great / water pressure: irritating/ reception: depends on - I’ve stayed 4 nights in this hotel; location was great, but room size was awful, I couldn’t handle it at all! If you do not have problem with lack of safe box and kettle in rooms, you can think about this hotel. Also I had problem with Bathroom toilet system; water pressure always was up and down!
The view of my room was breathtaking…
Hotel don’t have breakfast and offer a caffe next to the hotel, but it’s mostly closed… so if you can tolerate these staff I recommend you to experience this amenity because of very helper reception(except a nice woman that can’t make relationship with guest :)) )
- yusa (8/5): - It was good. The atmosphere was great
- Mohammadreza (2/5): - The WORST hotel experience, the room was terrible!
We booked a room for four nights in July 2022, but my wife and I could stay there only for one night! We trusted the pictures and reviews, but the room was really small, with no space for two luggage! The room was not well serviced; it had very, very dirty carpets, small pieces of toilet paper on the carpets, the bathroom trash can was broken, the shower water faucet hook was broken, and the shower drain was clogged! No breakfast and dining service!
We found another hotel in the same neighborhood with much better value and service!
- Qiuyi (4/5): - Not very clean, and window is broken
- Mohammed (2/5): - The price did not match the quality.
Pros: safe area staff are helpful.
Cons :the building is very old,
The rooms are tiny tiny spaces you barely can sleep and 3 steps to the door and thats it, they have bigger rooms but they the ones in pictures.
Cleanliness: the carpet is very dirty sheets were alright
Bathroom was not big literally i cant spread my arms or i will touch both walls.
As I discovered the area filled with better quality hotel same rating and much cheaper but for some reason they dont show on expedia, try booking dottcom.
The staff were nice and helpful
I guess the place can be better
If they spend more money on the building like more lights in the Stairwell and fix the broken stairs ( be careful when using th3m)
It was good for short stay two days.
- Omar (8/5): - The hotel is situated very close to many of the landmarks in the area, while still being a relatively quiet place. The hotel is also very reachable using almost all forms of transport.
The only disadvantages were that some of the finishings in the hotel were less than expected (minor leaks from pipes, loose nails and screws), and that the hotel is almost impossible to access for those on a wheelchair.
- Zeinab (6/5): - I stayed for 4 nights great location 2 min far from istiklal street and its next to the metro station ,staff were very friendly and helpful the things i don’t like at first they gave us a dirty and small room with no light in the bathroom we informed them they changed it but to a smaller one , no kettles inside the room ,no place to put our luggage ,the hotel need a bit renovation in the rooms
- Verified traveler (8/5): - very good price for the area, room small but appropriate for the price. Adequate, nice roof top breakfast room, but no breakfast served due to Covid. Many restaurants and coffeeshops close by.
- Morvarid (8/5): Amazing Location - The hotel is in a great location, close to all tourist attractions and amazing for night outs. The customer service from the reception staff (Serhat and Bilal) is wonderful. They’re super friendly and helpful.
The only issue is that the rooms are a little outdated and need a little fresh if up! The shower was clogged up and the water would not drain properly which made taking shower difficult as it would overflow.
I definitely recommend this hotel and with a little work in the rooms and fixing shower, it would be an exceptional place to stay!
- TanviDhwn (10/5): Stay at Galata Antique Hotel - December 2021 - This is a hidden gem in Istanbul.
It is located at central location which is 5 mins away from Galata tower and some amazing cafes. The room was clean. chic and comfortable. The receptionists were so helpful and kind.
They booked our PCR test and arrange for taxi pickups making our trip extremely hassle free.
- aliaX1812KO (10/5): Memorable - By far the best location between galata, istiklal and sea view overlooking grand bazar area. Insanely beautiful terrace on the roof. Cozy boutique rooms thatll make the stay worthwhile. Friendly staff thatll make you feel just at home, literally!
- salllyymm (10/5): A hotel to remember! - The cutest hotel to stay in with friends or family. Great and safe location overviewing Pera neighborhood from one side and corner of Isteklal street from another if you’re sitting on their rooftop. It’s beautiful from inside out and has the best service from Serhat who makes you feel like home! Not to forget the great housekeeping service every morning! Definitely recommended!
- kerem (4/5): - small rooms with a bad air conditioner, we literally burnt during the daytime. shower is not comvinent
- Himalayataylor- (10/5): The mostly atmospheric place - The mostly atmospheric place
In downtown
For me it’s really boutique hotel
Cozy and chic , very clean
The breakfast view just amazing
And rooms style will
Move you 100 years back
I love locating very much
Staff kind and friendly
In compare with big corporate hotels
Here I will feel real Istanbul sharma
- Verónica (10/5): - Renovated room, clean and nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location. - Great location, historic building. Just a tiny small.
- Jonathan (6/5): Tired rooms, poorly designed. But good location. - Service was friendly and the location was good for my purposes but everything else left a lot to be desired. The room I checked into was tiny. No storage. Little more than a bed. A bar across the room counted for a closet. I asked for a better room and they moved me to one slightly larger but still very small. Design made no sense. No hooks anywhere for robes or towels. The closet doors did not shut and harpooned you when you walked by the narrow contours of the room. When I asked about what the staff could do to fix it, someone came by and put a rubber band around the knobs. A rubber band. Hello? Then the noise. I had to use earplugs to get any rest. Overall not a good value for the money and lots of better options around.
- FauziaK (10/5): SUPER HOTEL - Excellent location, practically outside the Metro, close to Taksim Square and only a few minutes away to walk. The staff were BRILLIANT and Sarhad and Billal were so friendly and helpful. They helped us get around and made our stay special. We were given an upgrade at no extra cost and we couldn't have asked for any more. Special thank you to Sarhad and Billal for all their advice and help.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff and the location were Great. Our room was a Bit top small. All in all we would Go there again:) we liked it
- Yousef (10/5): Amazing Place - The staff was really helpful and friendly. We got an upgrade to a room with view on Galata tower and it was amazing stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was charming and I could not fault the staff ; helpful, friendly, professional and genuine
However, the property needed some attention and minor repairs and refurbishment
- milanim99 (10/5): Little cute and cozy classic hotels - Love the rooms, view, Pera district neighborhood and cutest elevator! Very safe and chic.
The front desk manager, Melhi, greeted us very well and spoke fluent English. We came with a family of 10 and kids, they accommodated with different double beds and giving us few nice rooms.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location!
The staff is very helpful!
If you are booking the classic room its good for one person not two very tiny space.
Clean sheets they clean your room almost every day
The carpet is dirty actually very old and dirty
Overall its good place for the price range and location
Of 10 i give it a 6.5~7
- guest (10/5): - The staff were very friendly. The location is perfect, the hotel is good but a bit in the older side.
- Jade (6/5): Short on amenities, very old but great location - The hotel entry was a little hard to find. The pictures are framed well but the hotel is very old. The walls were bulging out and cracked. Room was tiny but we eventually found the AC as it was stuffy. It does the job and front desk staff was nice. Best thing about the place is the location. Only a 5 min walk to Galata tower. Very cute neighborhood.
- Fatima (10/5): Galata Antique Hotel - great location, very clean, very retro trendy! definitely will stay again here
- Verified traveler (8/5): Elegant and friendly - Some of the tourist advise was a bit off the mark - in terms of transit and time, but that is to be expected in a city where the options and traffic change seasonally. The hotel itself was charming, with lovely staff, very clean, very accommodating and beautiful. It is a noisy area of town - no hotel will be quiet in this area - so this is less a review of the hotel and more a point to note. Wifi is not great, but I don't know what hotels of this standard and price do.
- san_toaster (10/5): Located near multiple public transit stations/stops! - Located across the street from Sishane Metro entrance (6.Daire), 200m away from F1 Funicular/Tunel (Karakoy-Belogyu), 10 minute downhill walk to Galata Tower, and 20 minute walk to Taksim Square via Istiklal Cd.
Lots of restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes, convenience stores, and ATMs nearby. The locals go to this neighborhood to drink and dine. Istiklal Cd is the main thoroughfare for clubs, bars, tourist traps, live music performances, and the historic tramway.
It's a boutique hotel, so the rooms are a little small -- but the views are amazing. Rooftop breakfast views of Eminonu waterfront. Staff is hospitable, polite, and spoke great English. I asked for a room on the 4th floor - since there was a lot of local activity at street level.
I will be staying at this place every time I visit Istanbul, due to its proximity to public transit and great service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms are super small and there is no coffee maker in the room. But there is one way the lobby and if you need hot water for tea, the staff will gladly help you. I knew how to speak Turkish but if you don't, you might have difficulty communicating since the staff know little to no English. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great and you will get the ocean view and the city view from the breakfast area. Close to Galatasaray tower. Close to Taksim and waling distance to Grand Bazar and dolmbace palace. The location is great almost walking distance to everywhere if you like walking. Over all staff and cleanness of the hotel gets 5 star.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nice hotel - good location
.......................................................
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall Great experience thanks to the team for the lovely hospitality
- Thanks (10/5): - Perfect location for istiklal caddesi and tram. Great view of Galata Tower from the terrace.
- Badr (8/5): lovely - Simply great
Great staff
- pauortizc (10/5): Great Location - Great hotel very clean, they have a nice roof top where you eat breakfast I only ate breakfast there and it was good. While you are eating you will be watched by the birds looking through the window and very intensely watching your food it’s really funny. Hotel staff is very nice and friendly only thing is my hair brush mysteriously disappeared. Like all hotels they said they didn’t take it and it was just a very bizarre thing to get stolen. Didn’t make a big deal since it’s just a brush but it was really odd, I had it with all my toiletries and after the room was cleaned it was gone. Regardless they have a really good location near the metro and the main streets in Galata.
- mamoonr2018 (8/5): Cozy place - Really nice place with antique area, It has really nice breakfast with great view to the sea.
The best thing is it is exactly infront of the metro station you can go any where easily.
Although they need to hire someone to help guests with the suitcases.
- HVT (6/5): - the area was great, the hotel is far away from what it's being described. the standard room was SUPER tight for a 4 stars hotel and the prices of Istanbul.
- Toby (10/5): Great location, lovely breakfast views - The Galata antique hotel is in a great spot on the better side of Istanbul (Galata side- Karaköy and Beyoğlu). The hotel is conveniently located near Şişane metro, the tünel (underground cable car between Karaköy and Beyoğlu) as well as Istakel caddesi- there are great cafés near by, such as Mado and Noir Pit. I would thoroughly recommend wandering around the streets near Galata Antique hotel and the Galata tower as this is an quirky part of Istanbul that is at times overlooked by tourists.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and were always happy to assist me.
The hotel rooms were perfect for me (single traveller) although couples may find the room a bit tight. The beds are firm, not soft, so it may take some adjusting if you sleep on a soft bed.
The highlight of the Galata Antique hotel is their rooftop floor where breakfast is served, it gives you a lovely panorama around some of the lesser visited spots of Istanbul.
- Rod (6/5): - Moderate hotel food smell all day all night ......
- BetsyPlatt (10/5): Lovely place in a perfect location - Kind and helpful staff, lovely breakfast area with great views, cozy, comfortable room. The location, perfectly poised between Pera and Galata, could not be better. Sishane and Tunel stations are steps away, making it perfectly situated for using public transportation. Considerably quieter at night than other places nearby.
- Alissa (10/5): - This was a perfectly centralized hotel and the staff was amazing! Will definitely stay here on future visits.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, Comfortable rooms, - The good Position in İstanbul.
From that location you can nearly go everywhere in İstanbul with metro.
The galata Tower is just a few hundred metres away.
Walkable distance from Taksim Square.
- Victor (8/5): Amazing location! - Stayed here 2 times and did not disappoint me. If you are looking for a boutique hotel at very nice area, this is the best. You can spend 2 days by just wandering around the hotel. Only disadvantage is the noise coming from bars especially at Friday/Saturday nights. Staff is very friendly, cleaning is very good. Definitely would stay here again next time.. Good value
- easterndaze (6/5): Nice location & friendly service - Very well located in Galata with everything you need extremely close (metro, food, bars, etc) this is a charming hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff. Views are nice as well.
Rooms aren’t very big and infrastructure (heating, windows etc) is a little worn out and not very efficient unfortunately.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is very small and manned by a small number of staff who are very helpful. However, we were told this was a 4* hotel but it was nothing of the sort! The rooms are too small and lacked basic things like kettle, tea, coffee. The bathroom in one of our rooms was rather poor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It’s good location and very lovely stuff - It’s good location since it’s near from metro station and istiklal road and very lovely stuff, but it’s small room.
- Paul (8/5): - Situated in one of my favorite locations, which is convenient for tourism and nightlife. A small hotel with nice historic features and style, which has all one needs for a brief trip, or a base for a weekend stay.
It is, however, showing signs of tiredness and needs a lick of paint and a clean of stained carpets would not go a miss. If the price is right, then these features should not dissuade a bargain seeker too much.
- firas (6/5): Excellent location - The hotel has an excellent location, however, rooms are a bit small and requires update and carpets are dingy and curtains are old, TV is so small 17 or 19 inch. On the good side bed is comfortable and pillows are excellent. No water is supplied in the room like most hotels in Istanbul and no clothes closet. I would use the hotel for a night stop maximum but not for a long stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Receptionist and Invoice - The receptionist was very nice but he forgot to wake me up in the morning and call a taxi to go airport.
After paying the two last nights the receptionist did not give any document justficative and forgot to give the invoice in the morning or email it to me.
The hotel is nice and located in a central, touristic area.
- Salboui (10/5): Best location in the European side - This hotel is extremely well located. You can find a metro stop around the corner (5meters) its in the lovely neighborhood of Taksim, and the biggest shopping street takes one minute. Furthermore all the sight seeing activities can also find very nearby. The hotel staff are very friendly.
- Patrick (8/5): Excellent boutique hotel in great part of Istanbul - I've stayed at the Galata Antique four times -- this time with my daughter as a graduation present for her -- and I've never been disappointed. It's perfectly located at the foot of Istaklal Street, the busy walking street that runs up to Taksim Square, and close to the Metro line and to the Tunnel subway that connects to the Tramway -- you can get anywhere on transit that is comfortable, timely and fun.
The hotel's furnishings are modest and rooms small but it has a wonderfully helpful staff, decent breakfast, excellent AC, and good windows that shut out the party atmosphere that sometimes develops outside.
Most of all, it is close to terrific restaurants, a gentrified bohemian neighbourhood, wonderful museums, and to that terrific transit system. (Get an "Istanbul card" and load it with 25 Turkish Lira -- you get 10 rides on any of the systems, for about 70 cents each.)
I recommended the place for my son and his wife on their honeymoon. They loved it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pretty basic facility.......................................................
- Kyryl (8/5): Long Weekend Getaway - Hotel is perfectly located just across the Sishane subvay station and few steps down from Tunel on a very quiet street. Taksim Square, Galata Tower and Istklal are on a walking distance. Old city is reachable easily via Tunel and than tramvay.
- Luke1407 (10/5): The best location you can ask for - The hotel is very nice, clean and has friendly stuff. Everything is very nice and good quality. The best part is the location, right next to the Tower, Istaklal and Sishane Metro st.
Rooms are very nice.
the only thing i would improve is to put some music during the breakfast hours as its very silent there and feels weird to eat :-)
Def worth of the money!
- rikahouse (10/5): The only place to stay in Istanbul - Stayed here the first 4 nights and 2 more nights at the end of my holiday in Istanbul. Great services, friendly and helpful staffs! beautiful and cozy room plus the amazing view from the room. Only few steps from the metro and the vibrant of istiklal street. Staying here make my stay in Istanbul a wonderful one. Thank you everyone!
- yojnav (8/5): Great service, great views and prime location - I only stayed in this hotel one night and loved the service. Hotel is located with a few stairs so hard to take a heavy luggage up the stairs to get to the hotel lobby. I had the help of my cabdriver so was glad that I didn't have to carry it as often.
My room was on the top 5th floor which was not easy to get to with a heavy luggage as the elevator only goes to the 4th floor and then you have the take a few stairs to get to my room. Also, the hotel conserves energy so hallway lights have sensors. It is located walking distance from Galata Square which is bustling in the weekends. I had to leave early morning next day and couldn't stay for breakfast which started at 7am but the staff was very helpful and provided me a sandwich for the road at 6am. The price was reasonable so I would stay there again.
- harris_huberman (10/5): Galata Antique - recent stay - Having now experienced at least 3 other hotels in Turkey, I found that the Galata Antique was wonderful in terms of the warmth, helpfulness and professionalism of staff, the ambience of the hotel itself (and great location), and I will always remember the rooftop cafe with its wonderful view, great breakfast and chorus of seagulls to start each day. I would certainly look to stay there again if I return to Istanbul!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel in good area - This is a really nice hotel in a great area. The staff are helpful and friendly and the view from the roof terrace is lovely.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel, could be a bit cleaner - The hotel is very well located in a beautiful XIX century building, in a very active and pleasant neighbourhood. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the price seemed to be fair. The terrace where we had a breakfast was really beautiful and had an astonishing view.
Unfortunately, the room cleanliness was far from being the best.
The carpet covering the floor was quite dirty, one of the towels had a very disgusting stain and the shower door looked as it hasn't been cleaned for a long time.
It seems as the hotel had a lot of potencial but it was very badly driven.
- Adam (6/5): Well located but small tired rooms - Located right in the middle of shops, bars and restaurants and next to the metro. Small rooms lacking wardrobes and secured safes do not book the basic room
- Baher (10/5): Simply amazing in every way.... - That was one of our best experiences in traveling .....Istanbul is an amazing city whatever is your taste...it is diversified and myeterious in a way... Fully loaded with art and culture... Singing ,dancing and living like turkish.... Transportation are easy and fun specially that they combine boats .... We have seen Dolphins when we were crossing from Karakoy to kadikoy...the city has many secrets to reveal....we also went to a flea market in Sisly on Sunday which was really interesting where we met some remarkable people there....
- Justin (10/5): Affordable Istanbul - Great location. Very convenient to places like Taksim Square and Karakoy and Old Istanbul, as well as many shopping areas and restaurants. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when it came to helping me get a taxi and other things. The complimentary breakfast on the top floor of the hotel was great, too, with a nice view. The only drawback is that the room is pretty small and so is the shower area. The carpet was also a little stained, but the bed is very comfortable, and the blackout curtains were great. But we were there to experience the city anyway, not hang out in our hotel room.
- Nat (10/5): Excellent hotel with perfect location - Although the Galata Antique hotel has relatively small rooms, it turned out fine, even for someone like me who does not travel lightly. The air con was great, the room clean and more importantly the staff were some of the best I've come across. There wasn't anything they couldn't help us with and their friendly approach and plentiful information knew no bounds. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Plus, the location is ideal to gain easy access to all parts of the city.
- Yahya (6/5): Close to Taksim - Friendly staff, very quite hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - Pictures and actual rooms are totally different. Room is too small and even there is no black out curtains. Overall poor
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great neighborhood - Quick stay before flight. Great neighborhood filled with restaurants and bars.Very helpful staff.
- Arnaldo (10/5): Excellent!! - Galata Antique was phenomenal. We had an amazing stay. The personnel were very attentive and nice. Our room had an amazing view of the city. The breakfast was tasty and it was accompanied by views of the city many restaurants lack themselves. Veryclose to the metro, Galata toeer, Galata bridge, taxi stand and many cafes, restaurants. Thank you !
- Suha (10/5): Very good - It was good
- Verified traveler (2/5): Old and tired! - Stained carpets everywhere!!!! The drywall in our bathroom between the sink and mirror were pushed in and crumbling all over the place. Room 203. Dirty!!
- michelle (8/5): - Great price. Great place. View from roof is great. Breakfast was ok
- Angelika (8/5): Lovely, characterful hotel in old town of Istanbul - I stayed at the Galata Antique hotel for two nights and would definitely recommend it, it is good value for money, centrally located close to Istiklal street and the Metro and has a nice boutique hotel feel to it. It has a roof terrace with great views across roof tops to Sultanahmet and the Golden Horn.
- Renee (10/5): Amazing stay - Impeccable service. Love this hotel! Would strongly recommend.
- Deirdre (10/5): Great, Great, Great!! - Excellent hotel in the centre of the city of Istanbul. Staff could not haev been more helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Sightseeing in Istanbul - The staff are very pleasant, the location is quite central. A bit loud at night as there are several bars etc. lots to see and do near by... Breakfast was basic and authentic, room was basic (a bit small) but comfortable and clean. Great location if you are a member of soho house and can use their amenities otherwise I would recommend a hotel with a pool and open air roof top as Istanbul gets quite hot in the sunmer
- USMAN (10/5): Family trip - Washroom is too small, not enough space to you the toilet. Also tv in the single occupancy is too small.
- Deano (10/5): Excellent location - If you are staying in Istanbul for the first time Galata is an EXCELLENT location. Great restaurants, shops & where all the locals come to dine and have fun.
Do not stay on the other side of the river. It is a tacky tourist trap. This is much more chic and authentic and with great and easy access to transport Galata is only 15-20min to the main tourist sites of Istanbul.
- Patricia (10/5): Personal, friendly, we will stay again - Excellent service. Delicious Turkish breakfast on the rooftop terrace. New renovation looks lovely. Very convenient to Tram to Taksim as well as Blue Mosque area. Metro a few feet away, easy walk to Galata area, and to buses. Our second stay and will again. Small boutique hotel, unusually friendly, helpful staff. overlooks Golden Horn.
- Sunjung (6/5): Good! - Good quality of services! But..Need to renovations..
- Will/Jere (10/5): - Small, elegant, classy hotel, with a small, beautiful breakfast terrace, filled with a variety of very good food--although not always hot--and a most helpful and pleasant staff. I just wish that my room were not so small and that the desk not so low to the ground, or so small, but I was able to work well in the common room downstairs. Very good location, and warm, excellent staff.
- Cabeto (10/5): Very good location - The hotel is very good located...very close to the always crowded Istiklal Street. Close to many restaurants, bars, galata tower and galata bridge.
We stayed in room 302 which was comfortable and with a nice view. It's the only one with a balcony. It's small but it's nice to spend some time and appreciate the view.
The breakfast is served on the top floor and the view is just very nice!
The only thing I didn't like much was the size bathroom...it's sooo small...taking a shower was a very difficult task. It is that small that is difficult to turn around your body :P..
The staff was very nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay here! It really is antique! - Extremely unprofessional staff, elevator broke down, electricity went out multiple times for hours (no generator!), internet went off, no hot water, non working shower head, hardly English speaking staff.. When complained first was told to silence as we got a good price according to the hotel's accountant, then when complained to the front desk Manager (Filiz) she said she will give us a discount if we extended the stay, we agreed and paid for it, they walked away from the deal and asked for more money when we got back to the hotel in only couple hours. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! Stay elsewhere!
- R P (8/5): Stayed 7 days - This is a wonderful hotel in a very central area of Istanbul, steps away from Istliklal, Galata Tower, the Tunnel which gives you easy access to the Tramway system to take you to Sultanhamet. Great location, nice, helpful staff, good breakfast provided and lots to do in the neighbourhood. My only complaint and it's minor, the carpet in the room could have been cleaner, but again, this is a minor complaint.
- rohm (10/5): fantasti service and great location - Excellent
