Guest Reviews
- Jacqueline (8/5): - The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast choices were excellent.
My small double bed in the standard room was comfortable.
Not having a window in the room felt odd.
A great location.
- Nicole (8/5): - The rooms were clean, and staff was nice, please bring cash because they don’t accept credit card for tourists tax fee or pay for breakfast, we requested a queen bed, how the put together two mattresses you either way feel the whole in the middle so is uncomfortable, the street is dirty and not flattering but I will say that is not the only one, price was okay, thanks for the attention and service.
- Luke (8/5): - Friendly staff and great location for the city and the port.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very basic. Hotel had construction and ladders. Dirty walls, run down. One pillow no bath mat.
- Greca Fides (10/5): - I like the location of the hotel being close to shops. It is clean and well maintained though I could use a softer bed. The staff are nice though and the location is convenient.
- michelle (6/5): - The property is located downtown Napoli walking distance to all clothing stores, restaurants and the pier where tourist ships arrive. My room was good. It was clean & cool.
I didnt like the bar area, it seemed a bit dark and gloomy. The elevator is small with a claustrophobic feel too it. For what I paid, it was worth the money. The staff was kind and helpful
- Jakub (10/5): Conveniently located - + location is very convenient: 10 minutes of walk (with luggage) to the port (ferry to Capri etc.), 5 minutes to very good pizzeria evo, 3 minutes to metro station
+ rooms are clean, far from big but there's sufficient space
+ you can have a coffee and Italian-style breakfast at a cafeteria at ground floor, and there's also a grocery next door
+ a very nice terrace on the 3rd floor
- there is ongoing renovation on some floors so using stairs you pass by some open electric wires
- can't tell about other rooms but ours had a view on a neglected courtyard and a shanty building
- there's no free water in the room but you can buy one in a vending machine for 1 euro
- Holly Jo (6/5): - Simple room. Centrally located so good for exploring.
- Robert (4/5): - We had two couples in our party. We were on the fourth floor when we got on the elevator, the doors closed and the elevator was stuck. Wouldn't go down and the doors wouldn't open. We were nowhere near the 480 kg rating (1050 lbs). We tried the door open and the 4th floor buttons, no luck. We tried the elevator phone button, no answer. We called the front desk on our cell phone, no luck. We could hear the desk phone ringing up the elevator shaft. I finally forced the elevator door open. We took the stairs down and the staff were all gone. About five minutes later, they arrived on a scooter and showed no concern when we described what happened. My wife's fear of elevators happened and they didn't seem to care. We took the stairs the rest of our stay.
- Lisa (6/5): - Property was average. Room was so large that it couldn’t cool down.
- Alessandro (6/5): - This is an ok-hotel with a poor reception and very noisy. The cleaning staff strolls through the very humid hallways yelling and slamming doors. Location’s very good and close to Università metro station. 15 mins walk from Piazza del Plebiscito. A bit overpriced.
- James (6/5): - When I checked in, my initial room had no AC. I was able to move to another room which had a working AC and seemed a little cleaner. Power for the block went out around 8pm but was fixed around 10:30pm (obviously not the hotel’s fault). The location felt a little sketchy. Only 2 minute walk to the metro, plus a 5 minute train, was very beneficial to get to the central train station.
- Anju (10/5): - The best hotel in the historic district. Amazing amazing people at the hotel.
- Araceli (8/5): - Hotel was ok, but the area was dirty, and not very nice!
- kim (10/5): - We had a great stay, nice hotel, close to everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended - Del Golfo hotel is ideally located to explore Napoli. A lot of attractions are within walking distance. Furthermore, there is a metro station (Universita) 100m from hotel. It is only a 15 minute walk to the ferry port where the terminus of the airport Alibus is located. The hotel has been completely renovated. My room was equipped with an A/C, a safe box and a small refrigerator.
The only negative point is the breakfast. It is very limited and everyday the same. They should definitely improve that.
Overall, I can highly recommend this hotel.
- Kathleen (4/5): - Room 1 - positives clean, quiet. Negatives- no toilet roll, no exterior window, no hand soap, lumpy old pillow. Room 2 positives - clean, quiet, very large. Negatives- noisy fan in bathroom, light over bathroom mirror not working, cold at night (no extra bedding in room and no control over heating). Had to wear a sweater in bed and use coat as extra cover. Lumpy old pillows. Switch and socket by bed falling off wall. TV on wall but no sign of a controller anywhere.
Felt Hotel had an uncared for feel. Equipment and cleaning materials left lying around including box right outside my room door. Fortunately only there for 1 night but definitely did not match up to hotel’s own description of its facilities.
- Ramon (10/5): - 5 stars review will be not enough, how about 10 stars. I’m very happy that I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Hotel del Golfo. Gina and staff were very warm and welcoming. My special thanks to Hotel del Golfo staff Gina and Roberto for all guidance and directions. Look no further when staying in Naples. I highly recommend this place and you will thank me for my recommendation. I will definitely come back to Hotel del Golfo on my next trip to the beautiful city of Naples. I will also recommend the breakfast buffet.
- Brenda (10/5): - The hotel is lovely. Very clean. The staff was very helpful. The room was spacious. Coffee was available on site. The location was excellent - just a block from major square with shopping a restaurants. A very good value. Highly recommend
- samuel (8/5): - The staff was very helpful and attentive. Very close to a train station and ferry port so very convenient there. Our room was ever so slightly dirty (a hair on the bed and a makeup stain on a towel). Otherwise the hotel was great for our short stay.
- Olivia (8/5): - Location was good, the streets nearby were dirty and seemed very questionable. The staff at the hotel was scarce. The cleaners cleaned everyday. The room and bathroom were a good size.
- L (8/5): - Great central location
Modern air conditioner
- Vince (8/5): Friendly staff nice location - Great location
Nice staff willing to help
- Jeanine (10/5): - The staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond with guest service. From check-in to check-out they took great care to provide wonderful guest service.
The hotel public space and guest room were well cleaned. Great housekeeping!
- Andra (8/5): - Super friendly staff and hotel does the job. I didn’t feel safe in the area but I think it was just a shock of the appearance. I feel like you need a car to see the sites in the area.
- Ufuk (10/5): Nice and comfortable stay - Hotel staff was very helpful, we had an issue with the AC system the very first night and it was taking care of immediately. Other than that we had a pleasant stay. Hotel location is very convenient, it is close to port if you want to visit like Capri Island. There is metro station very close to hotel. Unfortunately there is a construction going with that station and it is closed until October, 2022. Of course we didn’t know about it but the other station wasn’t far away either.
By the way, The room was surprisingly large compare to other European hotel rooms I stayed before.
- Charlene (8/5): One night stay - This hotel was walkable to sights, and restaurants. Parking is not onsite but rather they direct you to a public parking garage. It is about a 10 min walk. When we went to it , it was full and we had to wait about 10 min for there to be space for our car.
- Raul (8/5): - Muy bueno el hotel, posición muy acertada para ir caminando prácticamente a todo la parte histórica de Nápoles y a la zona del Mar …..
- Ed (6/5): Just meh - The bed was uncomfortable but its in a convenient area. Air con takes a while to get going which is a shame as heat was suffocating . Toilet roll not kept stocked up
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly front desk staff. Very helpful. Lovely breakfasts, great start to the day.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bastante sucia y descuidado. Edifico viejo ,qué no justifica la tarifa
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Very clean and breakfast very good quality
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed at the hotel for 1 night. From the outside it did not look much however on the inside it is a very modern hotel which really surprised Melissa and myself. Slap bang in the middle of Naples with so much to see and do. Would recommend it to anyone and we would 100% stay with them again. Our room doors opened up on to the most amazing terrace.
- Shawna (8/5): - The room and bed were a wonderful size and it was clear that recent renovations have been done. The hotel had a nice continental breakfast, great central location, and wonderfully appointed bathroom. Unfortunately on our arrival the night clerk gave us no information other than the room number and key, the pillows and bed were hard and the ac worked in frequently. The room was preset to 21 and although we changed it, it would always return to 21.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Nice hotel, well located for what we wanted to do. Very clean and well maintained, friendly staff. Basic continental breakfast, but all good and lots of it. We'd use it again, can't say fairer than that.
- John (8/5): - The main thing was this hotel had a lovely comfortable and spacious room. Everything worked. Bit of a creepy area, dark backstreet but close to the metro. The breakfast area was silly as the buffet was in a small alcove off the dining area and made it difficult when there were multiple guests trying to have breakfast at the same time. The toaster was ridiculous. Breakfast was not as good as other hotels I have stayed in.
- Josie (8/5): - Hotel was clean, staff was great. One day we were there was not enough room in the breakfast area for us to eat, so we had to wait for a table to freebup before we can eat. The elevator was not working on the day my brother left. But other than that, the stay was great, I would recommend this place and would stay here again in the future. Elia, Roberto and Franco were fantastic.
- suzuko (6/5): - This hotel is close to the Metro Station(Universita) . It's convenient, but the room was very tiny compare to other hotels. So I feel very tight.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Graffiti everywhere outside- neighborhood sketchy. The rooms are very small and the electricity comes and goes. I could not believe this was called a third star hotel.
- Kay (6/5): Great location - The best thing about Del Golfo is its location - it is about a 20min drive from the airport, and walking distance to all the main sights in the centre like the Castle, Via Toledo, all the main Squares, and even the port. (But beware that taxis charge a set amount to get to the hotel, even if there is a meter in the taxi and it says something else!!)
The second best thing about the hotel was its staff - everyone was very helpful and friendly, and kept the hotel and the rooms very clean.
Breakfast was very basic, the usual continental fare, but that's fine, as there was plenty of pizza available outside.
Our room was on the first floor, and very big, clean with comfortable beds. However, it was very dark, there was no daylight coming in, we had to have lights on all the time. And there was no network in the room, so you couldn't make calls while in the room, which was a little limiting.
Getting around Naples is very easy, and the people are very friendly, and speak English, so it is a pleasure to be there.
- Vova (8/5): - Nice central location, renovated and clean. Only one suggestion - add safe in room.
- Jennifer (10/5): Nice stay in Naples, Italy - The staff was multilingual and very helpful with booking tours and providing directions to different locations in the city.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great stay in Naples, Italy - This is a great hotel. The WiFi connection is very strong. The staff is multilingual and very helpful in the suggestions. The hotel is very quiet and clean.
- Sergio (4/5): 1.5-2 star Hotel at best - The hotel is nestled in a really dangerous looking street. The rating said for star but it’s more like a 2 star. Reception was not very welcoming
- Jeannette (10/5): Friendly, clean and close to everything - Very nice hotel, excellent staff. The only issue with comfort is that the beds had no covers other than sheets, and there were only two very thin pillows. The beds were more comfortable than others we encountered in Italy, but still pretty hard compared to most hotels in USA, Great Britain and France. Breakfast was great and everyone was friendly and helpful. We did get a couple of blankets after we asked. The bathrooms were very nice with great shower heads that my husband and son loved so much that now we have to buy one like it for home. Nice area, close to lots of museums and the port, with great restaurants in walking distance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean new rooms - Rooms looked completely new and hotel itself was clean and pleasant.
- Bishytourist (10/5): - Perfect location and helpful staff, although some of the info they gave us was not very accurate....
- Christopher (10/5): Good value. Would stay again - Good location near port and university. Adequate breakfast. Newly refurbished room - space, clean, good air con
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good hotel that was very clean and the staff was very helpful. Perfect location to board a cruise ship the next day. Great restaurants in the neighborhood to eat.
- Steph (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very clean. The staff was helpful and nice. My room was large and comfortable. It’s within walking distance of food and shops.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good option - This property is in a great location for exploring Naples. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was adequate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great deal - Room was fantastic for the price and when we had issues with heat it was fixed right away. Little bit of a walk from the train station but it’s close to Gino Sorbillo and Le Figlie di Iorio which both have AMAZING pizza.
- Nabat (10/5): what a pleasant stay! - staff was very nice and helpful, the Wifi was excellent and i felt very safe in the hotel.
Especially upon asking even difficult questions or requiring help with administrational works the front desk did not disappoint and helped me out very nicely.
i will return to this hotel if i ever visit napoli again
5/5!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location close to the port and to Via Toledo. Very clean. Good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good Value - A typical city budget hotel. It was good value and very clean. Breakfast was included and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Ann (6/5): - We arrived late afternoon and were a bit concerned at the location of the hotel. It was in a narrow side street and there was rubbish/litter everywhere. We soon realised this was quite normal for Naples, not the cleanest of cities we have ever visited.
Our room, whilst clean was tired and in need of being updated. There was no coffee/tea making facilities in the room and the breakfast area was very basic, however the breakfast was fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to most attractions - Breakfast is about average of continental breakfast. Hotel is on the little street next to main street which has many restaurants and shops. Also hotel is within the walk distance to harbor and most attractions of the city. Safety wise, I don't recommend walk around in the late night because this is the city Naples. but it is absolutely fine before 8PM.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to train station - It is close to train station with about 1 stop of subway distance. Absolutely you can walk if you want. It is about walk distance to boat harbor to cinque terre and most attractions. Generally Napoli is not safe place to walk around in the night how ever this hotel is close to main street which is safe to walk around before dusk. Breakfast is about normal continental quality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Met and exceeded our expectations - During our 2 1/2 weeks in Naples, the hotel met and exceeded our expectations on all fronts so that is why I am giving it a 5 star rating. This is one solid 3 star hotel. The largest rooms we've ever had during a stay in Europe, so clean you could eat off the floors, the A/C worked perfectly (and we were there when it was 36 and 37oC in Naples), great staff at the front desk and for room cleaning, a good substantial breakfast every day with an espresso...we loved staying here and love Napoli. The location was perfect close to the Universita' metro stop so all of Naples was at your fingertips and you were only one stop away from Garibaldi train station for those wonderful day excursions all over Italy...and we did many. We have no complaints at all about staying here and would again!
- Karen (8/5): Hotel is fairly close to the Port. - The Hotel is nearer the Port than the Train Station which is a 15 min walk away. Although that is not too bad considering it is very hectic in that part of Naples. Just watch your back! Don t go out and about with jewellery that will be ripped off you. I know!
- John (10/5): Good clean well placed hotel - Took a lot of time looking for well located hotel which was clean
Staff all very helpful and rooms surprisingly large would stay again.
- Maryssa (8/5): Safe/secure stay in Naples - This hotel was as advertised. Safe and secure hotel with breakfast service. We stayed for a quick one night stay before departing for Positano. We appreciated the modern upgrades in the hotel - automated control features in room and energy preserving lights in hallways/corridors. The location is within walking distance to Napoli Central train station (20 min.) but with luggage, a taxi may be necessary.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location for tourist attractions and the port - Very. good size and modernised rooms very clean . Breakfast area is a little simple but ok . There was no lock on the bathroom door in the room
- Verified traveler (4/5): Family trip - Booked 2 rooms, very inexpensive but not much for the $. Of the 2 rooms one was larger with a tiny bathroom with a shower that was too big for the 2x2 size shower enclosure. My husband was not able to use the shower without shutting off the water while trying to wash his legs. The AC did not work and with the window open it was VERY loud due to the location near the center.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely big room, very clean, good value for money.
- Wendy (6/5): Good location and breakfast. - The hotel is in a good location, on the edge of the Centro Historico. It provides a good breakfast and the rooms are basic but comfortable and very clean.
- Regular travel (8/5): Good location - Good mid range hotel. No problems. Close to many things worth seeing.
- KAY (10/5): Enjoyable with some reservations - This hotel is very good. Spacious clean rooms & decent continental breakfast. Well located for everything. However I wasn't prepared for Naples - Graffiti City, what a shame! Total lack of respect for their beautiful buildings. Were charged local tax at Check Out which I was sure I'd already paid in advance. We had run out of cash so paid by card which reception weren't happy with. Promised to email me a receipt which I never got.....
- Dave (8/5): Great location in the heart of the city. - Naples is a chaotic city and to some extent the hotel reflected this. We had a lovely quiet room with a window opening into a private atrium: no view but some fresh air and very private. The room was a good size with a large comfortable bed. The ensuite was well equipped with toilet, bidet, sink and shower. The shower cubicle was wide but not very deep. A pity because there was plenty of room for a larger cubicle. It's clearly a very old building with thick walls and some strange spaces... at the back of our room was an unventilated storage area with shelves and a small safe. But it smelt terrible: damp and musty. Fortunately the sliding door was effective: we kept it shut and kept the smell out! No tea/ coffee making facilities in the room but there was a small fridge for snacks. Continental buffet breakfast was simple but plentiful. No other refreshments available apart from a vending machine and no residents lounge or comfortable seating area. Staff were helpful and friendly. Really convenient for the port, the back streets, bars, cafes, restaurants and the Metro. A really good base for a city break.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Welcoming and Convenient - The staff are friendly and helpful. They made every effort to accommodate our needs and requests. It is very conveniently located 1 block from public transit, bus and subway. The street was narrow (like many in Naples) and relatively quiet just 1 block from a busy main road. The hotel looks to be recently remodeled from top to bottom. The windows keep most of the street noise out. They put out a good breakfast, which was included with our room, with meats, cheeses, croissant, juices, coffee, water, cereal, bread, and fruit.
- Jan (8/5): - A good reasonably priced hotel- enjoyed our stay
- Solo female (10/5): Great place to stay : ) - I booked as a female travelling alone. I wanted to be close to sites & restaurants, I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is approx 15mins walk from main train station / shopping area / great restaurants. The metro is 5mins away. Only time public transport was needed was to go to Pompeii. My land mark was building with 2 lions & I new I was "home". Shop next door sold snacks if I'd forgotten anything. I felt safe getting back in the dark @ 20.30 alone. Hidden gem. Internet worked perfect in my 4th floor room to. What more could a girl want.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value hotel in great location - We are a couple in our early 60s who stayed at this hotel for 5 nights.
The location couldn't be better - it's one block back from the main thoroughfare of Corso Umberto, and the metro stop of Universita and bus stops. Being one block back means the worst of the traffic noise is cut off, helped by the good double glazing. It's also walking distance from the Alibus (airport) bus stop in the Port - about 10 mins. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by as well and the area around Palazzo Reale and Via Toledo are easily reached on foot
The hotel inside is clean and modern; it must have been refurbished quite recently. Our room was large and had everything we needed, including a safe, A/C, fridge and a good size shower in the bathroom.
Breakfasts were plentiful with everything you would expect of a continental style, including yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereals, ham, cheese, fruit juices. The staff are helpful with any questions about the area.
Our only gripe, and the reason I haven't given 5/5, is that the noise insulation between the bedrooms is rubbish. For the first two nights, our neighbours were early to bed (we could hear them snoring from 10pm) and early to rise (talking and moving around at 6am). One night there was a group of younger guests who came back to the hotel at various times between midnight and 2am with plenty of noise. Earplugs would help!!
Would we stay here again - yes, it offers good value in a great location
- Verified traveler (4/5): Look elsewhere - This hotel is listed as a three star. I hope my comments help. The housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired.
There was a large blood stain on the mattress protector. The blanket was stained. A good wash would have fixed it.
There were many strands of human hair on the bedding and floor.
The room needing a good vacuuming as there was a old layer of dust over everything.
After informing reception that the room safe was not operating I was assured that it would be fixed. That never happened.
My room overlooked a derelict building.
There was no heating in my room during the day.
There was no light globe in the desk lamp.
The promised mini bar was empty.
On the positive side the breakfast was basic but adequate.
Perhaps if anyone is considering this hotel it may be worth looking at other alternatives.
- Olga (8/5): Nice hotel near the center and metro station - Single room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly, wifi connection is stable, breakfast was also fine. The only one flaw is that there wasn't a window in my room (only small window under the ceiling).
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value - Hotel really clean and comfortable, well positioned for old town Naples and the waterfront. Road outside does not reflect on quality inside.
- Julian (10/5): Great stay historic Naples - The hotel is in the old historical area, one block from the University. Downtown, near Toledo Street the commercial area. Good price, great breakfast, the personnel is helpful.
- liron (10/5): very good hotel. - very good hotel!!
Good location close to key areas.
10 minute walk to the ferry to Capri.
Staff very nice and helpful.
Good breakfast and free wi-fi that works good!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Economical, good location - so noisy ,Impossible to sleep. The voices from nearby room was all audible clearly
- Verified traveler (8/5): 3 night stay - I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was good. Everything is walking distance. We walked to Castel Ovo and it was not far. The train station is also walking distance. I would stay here again. The breakfast was included and it was good.
- fran (8/5): Safe, clean, close to transport links - I arrived Too early for check I but staff let me freshen up and leave my luggage. Bus and metro very close, about a 2min walk, also corner shop and cafes nearby. Room itself was just right for my overnight stay.
- Tejaswi (6/5): - Hotel staff provides great service! The bathroom was a bit smelly and shower did not drain fast but otherwise, the room is clean. Breakfast is ok- basic low grade croissants, juices and toast. Location is ok.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place, great price - The hotel is located very conveniently by the metro and near the riverfront and the central station. I walked everywhere from there. Also the staff were super helpful and friendly, the breakfast was good, and the rooms were exactly what I needed: simple, but with AC and a modern key system and a mini fridge. I'd definitely stay there again!
- Andrew (8/5): - Hotel was in a perfect location for exploring Naples and for public transport to sorrento and Pompeii. Originally the room we were given did not have functional air conditioner not but the staff were very helpful in getting us another room.
- Irina (4/5): Good location, but very hot in hotel. - They do not have air conditioning in common areas, a breakfast it was impossible to hot and stuffy. Suitcases raised herself, no one helped. The beds all for one low pillow, breakfast monotonous and not in the style of Italian cuisine.
The maid always transfer toiletries from the bathroom to the room, there was no accessories in the bathroom.
- Jack (10/5): An old with brand new renovation hotel. - Great terrace where you can have your breakfast.
- mark (8/5): Good basic hotel for sight seeing - The room was good for the money - location ideal for the price and right next to the Metro line
- Chunhung (10/5): Nice hotel - Great location near the metro, big and clean room. The breakfast is a little poor, but still acceptable.
- pauline (6/5): - well located, all you need for a short stay, improvements were going on but did not prove a problem.the front street can be a bit noisy some nights but its an Italian city .all in all a pleasant stay for the money .
- Terry (8/5): Good location at a good price - The hotel provided a good base for exploring Naples and the Campania region. Breakfasts were good, and the room was adequate for my needs. Visiting in January I found the room warm enough, but do wonder how it might be in the heat of summer. I did get the feeling that my single room was not frequently used, with some dust on surfaces and towels not being provided on first arrival. But my requests in poor Italian were understood and things were put right immediately. All the staff were friendly and helpful and certainly I would consider using the hotel again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel location very confortable and secure. - Hotel staff friendly Location very good You can go after one metro station or by walking to Garibaldi central satation and marina. You can visit easily Pompei,Capri island and another beatiful place.Thank you.It Was very enjoyable trip
- Elisheza (8/5): Nice hotel close to the historical center - This low priced hotel offers everything a couple age 64 needs for a confortable stay. The staff is nice and ready to help promptly.
- Rajappa (6/5): Conveniently located hotel with some problems - The hotel is quite conveniently located near Centro Storico but away from the grime of Garibaldi. Room is reasonable sized as is the bathroom. However, there was a funky smell in the bathroom that just made it very difficult to stay in the room. Also the toilet has a weird flush that splashes water on the floor. Lastly, the drain in the shower is unbelievably slow leading to flooding the bathroom floor.
- dougiepj (8/5): Well located hotel. - Stayed 3 nights in October 2015. Hotel is convenient for Cappella Sansevero (Veiled Christ) and walkable to Duomo and Archaeological Museum. Restaurant at end of street, or you can find others on Corso Umberto. There are a few on Piazza S Domenico Maggiore which is quite a nice square to sit at. Took a taxi from airport as it was quite late and dark when we arrived but got the airport bus from the port to go back; that was 10-15 minutes walk with our bags, but if you prefer there is a taxi rank just yards from the hotel. Breakfast was fine.
- Nat (6/5): City Centre - Clean hotel though I found a little impersonal? Room was clean and although I always request a double bed, I invariably end up with two singles pushed together as was the case here. The bed had just one sheet over it (to sleep under), no duvet or blankets. There were two coverlets in the wardrobe, but both of these were single bed size and not terribly clean (few large round stains on them).
The bathroom was clean, though I find enormous sinks pointless - a 12 x 36 inch sink is unnecessary in my eyes. The drain on the shower was a bit blocked so you ended up standing in a puddle of water and not having the water on full pelt so it didn't overflow. Otherwise, nice clean towels and some basic supplies.
Breakfast is very simple buffet style and there are only 8 tables in the small dining area which can only seat 2 people each. First morning was ok, but second morning we found ourselves eating in the reception area until other guests had finished their meals.
- Kay (8/5): I was glad I stayed. - Staff helped me to find an extra night's accommodation elsewhere, even when Golfo was full.
Assistance to connect by landline phone, with my bank in UK, sorted a problem.
Good value for what was changed.
- Ada J. (8/5): Good location - Nice, clean rooms. Great location. Walking distance to the marina. Easy walk to catch the ferry to Capri. Metro stop is just a few steps away.
- DANIEL (10/5): Naples in September - very friendly personal, clean room and great continental breakfast . good location. close to the all atraction in the historical city.
- Lorraine (8/5): Good hotel well located - We enjoyed three nights, the hotel was well located for transport and access to tourist interests and the university. Good shopping is close to this hotel. Great breakfast was included but no tea or coffee facilities in the room or the foyer. A vending machine would be an improvement to guest comfort.
- Caleb (8/5): Comfortable stay
- Initially, on seeing the location, I was wary...very dingy, dirty street....front facade of the hotel was bad....but inside, the facilities and rooms were great....very clean rooms...room service great....breakfast was decent....the receptionist was helpful, with an attitude to help despite not knowing much English...
