It was identified that parking was available at the property....upon messaging we found out it was two spaces located blocks away. When we tried to book a spot/inquire where it was located we received no response. Given we had no information we had to return our car days early as we weren't sure we could secure any parking. Disappointing experience

- Ian & Laura (10/5): - Initially I thought I had messed up as I didn’t book a hotel in Venice, yes I know now that this is a small island about 20 mins away from the hustle and bustle when I realized it was to late to change and let me tell you genuinely BEST mistake I’ve ever made. This hotel is so beautiful, it’s in a great place and you are able to easily travel between here and the main tourist parts of Venice. I really needn’t of worried. 10/10 for everything apart from the mattress in the room my side of the bed was a little lumpy but I dealt with it.

Breakfast great with lots of choice. Highly recommend this place. Lido is a great location and transport is superb to Venice city & other islands.

Lots of places to eat and drink around, including the restaurant and gelateria in the hotel itself. Plus the best view of Venice you’re likely to get from the rooms. Great place. Hope to stay longer next time…. though I will bring a kettle for the room, next time!

The only issue [room 106] was the noise from the bar opposite until 3am each night. Oh and the shower flooding the bathroom floor each time due to 30cm shower screen.

Breakfast was tasty with eggs, breads, sweets, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, and cereals. Coffee/tea were included. Cappuccino was a modest plus up.

- michael (10/5): Lovely classic hotel - Lovely classic hotel. Great location opposite water bus stop. 10 mins from St Marco Square by ferry. Friendly staff both at breakfast and for drinks at the bar in the late evening. We felt sorry on the morning of Tuesday 22nd April 2025 for one of the breakfast staff as a german traveller gave her a very hard time about the selection of breads for breakfast. The selection for breakfast was great. Plenty of variety for everyone. Great staff all round.

- Stefan (6/5): Perfectly average hotel - Nice enough hotel to the eye and very friendly, polite staff on the reception desk. Bathroom was clean and everything functioned as it should. Air con (heating at least) worked as it should. If you're expecting a modern fresh looking hotel you need to appreciate most hotels in italy are quite old and personally feel it adds to the charm. Downfalls were the bed being quite hard although i appreciate some prefer the firmer mattress, its not for me. The door frame to our room was not fixed and the whole door and frame moved a lot almost like it was held on by the architrave. The room safe had a surcharge to use according to the booklet we were given. Seems strange when every other hotel ive ever stayed in just has a coded safe you can use at your leisure. Breakfast was something to be desired. Not much selection on the day we stayed and didnt seem particularly fresh, we just went out and got breakfast elsewhere.

My parents spendt their hooneymoon there 50 years ago and they told me I would not regret staying there. It was the most perfect decision. I really enjoyed it. Love it!!!!

Right in front of Lido ferry stop so super convenient to get to Venice main island. Def try getting a room with a view cos you don’t want to miss it.

My room was fine but the bathroom was dirty. My family's room had no air conditioning and was very very tiny with a shower that would not fit all adults.

Cleaning lady knocked on my door to clean before i was even checked out. Check out time is 11am she knocked around 830-9am Everybody is super attentive and helpful.

- Kaye (2/5): - I was referred to this hotel and did not realize that it was not on the main island in Venice, Where I'd arranged for an 8am tour, but on another island, Lido. when I discovered this, over 24 hrs before our stay. I asked to cancel my reservation. not only did the hotel refuse, but it charged my for bpth nights!!! Not nice, nor what their cancellation policy stated!!! wou;d not recommend!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely old fashioned hotel - Lovely stay in an unusually old fashioned hotel. The rooms were lovely but the bed was so hard. Not sure if this is the norm for Italian hotels as all three that we stayed in had the same issue.
- lesley (6/5): - Easy to get to as it's right opposite the water bus stop. Our room was on the road side so it was extremely noisy, especially early in the morning with traffic. Great breakfast options and very friendly staff. The room was traditional , comfortable and very clean. Only real issue for me was the situation of the shower. The shower screen wouldn't move, so you had to climb in via the back of the bath but the bidet was in the way and nothing to grab hold of, worse when reversing out. Not an issue if you are young and nimble. I'm not. :)
- Ms M L (10/5): Excellent stay in a room with a view - Another wonderful stay in this conveniently located hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly and always quick to resolve problems and answer queries. I must say that prior to our stay they went to great effort to book our favourite local restaurant for us. We were blessed with stunning sunsets over the lagoon from the rooftop as well as the balcony.
- Roy (10/5): - This was our third visit to The Riviera and our reasons for returning was the excellent service and accommodation previously provided. On this occasion we discovered that our booking didn't include a room with a balcony - important for my wife's need for easily accessible fresh air. After making our concerns known the Manager Piero Padovar make a phone call to me in the hotel and said that we could move room the next night - at a very reasonable additional charge. We also discovered a bottle of champagne in our room the following day, which happened to be my birthday. So a potentially disappointing experience was turned around with professionalism and generosity. It remains our favourite hotel in Lido, Venice.

- Kelly (10/5): - After a long day of traveling, we really enjoyed the fact that Hotel Riviera was right across the street from the boat dock. The hotel also was very helpful in storing our luggage at the end of our stay for 5 hours before we needed to leave Lido. The front desk staff was always very helpful to answer our questions about many different things over the 3 days we were there. The young man one night shift was very helpful in looking up options for us to get off Lido and to our next destination in Venice during a Vaporetto water bus strike one day. The view from our window of the water was very refreshing. It is a classic older hotel so our room was small but totally efficient for our needs for the 2 nights that we stayed. It was nice to have the breakfast included in our stay with a very nice selection of foods and coffee or tea. The people that worked in the restaurant were always friendly.

- Matt (6/5): Great quaint place in need of tiny little upgrades - The hotel is pure 1800s luxury, however there were a few issues. First off, the shower, which had virtually no pressure, was so small I doubt an elf would have felt clean afterwards. The room had a beautiful view of Venice, but the noise from the boats and the busses was constant. The decor was amazing, like it had not been touched since the 60s, and the bed super comfortable. I kept getting little crickets in my room which I shewed out. The fridge was a nice addition, but made a lot of noise too. I heard the hotel has just been bought by new owners as a partnership, and that the hotel is going to have some work done. It does need it, but this is a beautifully quaint place and I hope they don't change it too much, if they want my advice, just fit a wet-room dutch style bathroom and update the electrics (more plugs would be very useful). The one thing I really didn't enjoy was the breakfast- the coffee was mass-made jugs of filter coffee, which surprised me for a place in Venice where coffee is SO important! Also the juices were made from concentrate, the bread was too hard to eat, there wasn't much choice of hot food (fried ham & eggs) and the utensils were from 2 centuries ago! My advice to them would be to lay on a hot cooked breakfast (with potatoes, tomatoes, bacon, sausage, egg, etc) and to offer a self-service good quality bean-to-cup coffee machine with fresh fruits and fresh juices. The dining room it's self was stunningly beautiful, also a restaurant during the day.

Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and only a short walk to the lovely beach on the other side of the island. I booked a single room: had a double bed and plenty of storage space. The bathroom and shower were very small but again perfect for one person. Breakfast was adequate to set you up for the day and the restaurant food was very good. Staff friendly and willing to help with any queries, would stay there again.

Lido also has the beach within walking distance. The hotel was lovely and well kept. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the fruit and coffee were great. Really enjoyed this place.

- STEWARTP (8/5): - Like most people I tend to look at reviews by customers. I then make up my own mind and I’m glad I did so. This hotel is very nice. Like most Mediterranean hotels it needs some investment but that may spoil its charm. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the facilities adequate and the rooms clean and tidy. What more do you want? A nice view? It has one of the best. On a clear day you can see the mountains behind Venice. I rest my case. When you wake up in a lagoon view room it is as though they have moved Venice closer for you. Simply stunning. Four stars all the way. I would recommend this quaint little hotel to anyone.

The only thing that was a little annoying was the busses start at 4:30 am and if you are facing the water it can be a little loud but that is not the hotels fault. Lots of stuff around the hotel. Had a great time we will go back!!

- Samantha (2/5): - Room was fine at first. My room faced a bar that was open ALL night... the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The shower didn’t work properly, went from scolding hot, to ice cold without touching a thing! Internet did not work. They did move me into a nicer room AFTER I complained about the shower not worker. But the bed in that room was two twin beds put together. I would not stay there again! Getting to this destination was not easy at all, either!

If you’re expecting a chain hotel like a Marriott or Hilton, you will be disappointed. The hotel is outdated because it’s a very old hotel but that adds to its charm! Our view from a corner room of the water made up for the small room and especially small shower!

- Emma (8/5): Lovely Lido Location - The hotel is located directly opposite the ferry terminal, and is on the corner of the main street with all of its bars, restaurants and shops. The beach is about 15 minutes walk away. We had a lovely view from our room, which was a little small but clean and comfortable with a very good bathroom and A/C. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

- Noreen (8/5): Lido Island of Venice - Lovely hotel in a quite area of Venice, Lido is a quieter island of Venice but easy to get in & out to the sights via water bus. Get a 24/48 hour pass for €20/€30 and hop on/off all day.

- MURAT (8/5): Overall good! - Perfect location! A bit noisy at night bc of the bars right next to it but very clean, staff was very kind. You will need to take vaporetto a lot to go to Venice,Murano and Burano so get rolling-venice card or 2-day, 3-day tickets. I would prefer to stay there again bc it is right in front of the main vaporetto station in Lido it made our lives a lot easier there and it was really fun to take vaporettos. Overall we were happy to stay there and if we go back we would stay there again.
- David (10/5): Nice hotel but far from central Venice. - The hotel itself was good, nice friendly staff and location was nice. Location wise it’s auite a journey from the train station and central Venice. Plus it’s an hour by boat to the airport, bear this in mind when planning travel. The room was clean except the mirror in the bedroom, this was very dirty indeed. Picture attached. Breakfast was very pleasant, with helpful staff and a wide variety of food on offer. If I cone back to Venice I probably wouldn’t stay hear due to location.

- Anatoly (10/5): - Love the location! After spending a day in busy Venice it’s nice to come to relaxing Lido atmosphere and walk on the beach. Hotel is authentic, clean, friendly and helpful staff, right across the street from public water transportation. Our room had a big balcony with the bay view and Venice. Sometimes there was wifi interruption but staff tried to fix it ASAP. Oh, well, all of us sometimes having this problems evdn at home 😉 Amazing breakfast. Definitely I’d recommend this hotel.

They ask you to use your towel for more than 1 day for environmental reasons, but in the same time the cups for drinking are from plastic and wrapped in plastic. that's very contradiction with the policy for the towels.

The only thing was that our flight was early in the morning and public water transport starts at 0410. Water taxi , we were told, is very expensive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel in a great location on Lido - We stayed here for 2 nights prior to boarding a Cunard cruise. The hotel is in a great spot, across the road from the ferry terminal. Lots of restaurants near by. Lido was a great choice for a quiet location to stay, away from the very busy Venice. The ferry's take you everywhere you need to go in Venice and the other islands, including the Cruise terminal, airport, train station.
