- William (10/5): - This hidden gem is a perfect option close to Old Town, Oktoberfest, and more. I stayed at the more conventional options a this was by far a better value and experience. They are so friendly and focused on the customer experience.

- Dany (10/5): - This hotel, just around the corner from the train station, was easily reached with suitcase and carry bags. Very nice front desk employees, who helped me with everything in an efficient and super nice manner. Immediately also booked a taxi, to pick me up on my departure day. My single room was super clean, and had everything one could need, including a hot pot for that first cup of coffee in the am. I paid extra ($18/day) for the breakfast buffet downstairs, and it is worth every penny, as it has everything anyone could want, presented in a beautiful way. Coffee will be brought to your table, and don't forget to leave a tip in the container on the table, for the hard working kitchen/wait staff. 🙂 While having breakfast, the owner/manager/employee, that helped me at check-in, came around to ask whether everything was going well and whether I needed anything. Even though I happened to be there during Oktoberfest, the area around me was pretty quiet the entire time I was there. It is easy to walk from there to a subway entrance, that exits near the Marienplatz , etc. I highly recommend this hotel, and would stay there again. Dany Scott

The rooms are no frills, but everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff here were all excellent. They were so friendly and helpful. We paid for the breakfast buffet and were really glad that we did. The food was very good and the selection was excellent. The ladies in the dining room were super attentive and did such an amazing job. The hotel itself was just a short walk to the train station and walkable to Oktoberfest and several Munich attractions. We recommend this hotel in a heartbeat!

We missed a connecting train and had to stay in Munich for the night. The hotel is very convenient to the train station and great for a large family or group. We were able to check in early. They notified us when we left a pair of shoes and arranged to mail them back. Great customer service.

- Layne (10/5): Sweet little hotel near train station - Loved this cozy little hotel. The guy at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. He made us feel very welcome. The room and bathroom, although very small, were very clean. The hotel was very quiet even though it was Oktoberfest. We never heard anyone else in the hotel. Breakfast was served in a charming dining room and had everything you could want. Best of all a hot pot in the room to make your first cup of coffee! Convenient location to Oktoberfest and old town.

Check-in was easy and fast and we were shown to our room. We just needed one night before a flight the next day and I have stayed at the Alfa in the past for an extended night work trip so when I saw it was available I jumped. Note- the hotel is in a busy section of the city so expect a higher noise level as expected in a city..

Street a lot quieter than others around the main rail station. Helpful staff. Due to Covid/staffing issues there was no breakfast available and the reception desk is unstaffed during the middle of the day. Priced very well - Munich can be expensive, especially when trade fairs are on.

An excellent short term stay 1.5 blocks from the main Munich rail line station. Inside, small , well appointed room with small refrigerator , two twin beds pushed together ( no queen beds in 90% of European hotels! ) Great water pressure & hot water in the small but functional shower

- Beverley (8/5): Good base for sightseeing - hotel is well situated to get to the centre and a very short walk to central station where the airport train arrives. Hotel staff very friendly. Rooms clean though a little dated (I believe some may have been refurbished) . Perfect if you need a good breakfast and you then plan to spend the day sightseeing. Very good Italian restaurant nearby and traditional German restautants.

We were told it was recently renovated, so it was clean and nice. The feeling is that it was renovated on the budget. The rate we paid was extremely high, but I guess it was due to Octoberfest timing. Location is good: walk to historical center, it took us 15-20 min to walk to Octoberfest location, and it is very close to main train station. Parking is outdoor in the back courtyard.

- Rebecca (8/5): Spacious room, quiet street near everything! - Hotel was more spacious than most on our trip. A little outdated, but looks like they are painting and doing a face lift now. There was plastic lining the stairs and tape on elevator button. The only thing we found was it was noisy if you had neighbors. The doors are super thin and you could hear the other people struggling to get the key in the door late at night. The staff were super friendly, stay was enjoyable, quiet area!

Rooms are compact but clean and adequate. Not enough room to pass easily between the desk and the end of the bed, Room had air condition, free WiFi and usual facilities -- but no kettle. I slept well, showered and left for the day, so that suited my needs.
- Nicole (2/5): - Check in was smooth and the front desk staff was pleasant; however, the room order was terrible. The moment we opened the door, the smell of smoke billowed out. I immediately went downstairs to express my concern and the front desk said "we are 100% smoke free". As if, this comment was going to make it all okay. Unfortunately, they were fully booked so we could not get another room. We opened the window (no screens) and she brought us a fan. We kept the hotel door and windows open with the fan blowing on high for several hours. I was finally exhausted enough to sleep through the stench (or so I thought) so I closed the door and windows and laid down on the pillow. The pillow! Ugh - it was like an ashtray. I couldn't even use. Needless to say, this was the worst and most sleepless night of my entire vacation. Fortunately, we were only there one night as we were just passing through. Breakfast the next day was also a disaster. They were out of everything and had zero still water to offer. We paid extra to have breakfast included and I'll I had was a cup of coffee and a roll. So very utterly disappointing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome - Finding the hotel was easy as it’s just beside the train station. When I reach the hotel in the morning, I am not able to check-in yet until 3pm but that’s fine. The room was super clean and quiet. We were given the courtyard view and highest floor so it’s the best room. Breakfast is okay and standard. Staff are friendly. Room is small but that’s alright because other positive reviews can overcome it. A short walk away to the shopping area. Convenient. Great choice for your stay in Munich.

The room is in decent size with air conditioning (a must when traveling in summer time). Room is clean, beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to other visitors. - Petra (8/5): Close to attractions - The hotel is located close to the main train station and is a short walk to the popular Marienplatz section of Munich where there are a lot of attractions and shopping. The breakfast buffet is very good and a convenient way to start your day. The negatives are that the rooms are small but the shower is ok. The pillows are too mushy and the mattress is too hard. There are no washcloths at this hotel which is common for most of the European hotels we have stayed at so be sure to bring your own. Most of the rooms are located in a separate building in back of the main lobby building. You have to go out of the main building outside and drag suitcases up and down stairs which is difficult in rainy or cold weather. Once inside there is an elevator to take you up to your room. It is not handicap accessible. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean..

Although it is near the station, it took me quite a while to locate the hotel. After checked-in hotel, I realised it was right behind Eden Hotel Wolff across the street from the station. My suggestion is good to put it on your hotel website as it is not easy to locate the street, HirtenstraBe. Overall, it is a nice hotel with friendly staff.

- Louise (10/5): Great place to stay for Oktoberfest - We had 4 nights here during Oktoberfest. The location was great, easy 10 mins walk to the festival or 10 mins into the old town. Just across the road from Munich main train station so very easy when arriving/leaving munich! Rooms seemed fresh, maybe recently renovated and service was good. Only area that needs improvement was the pillows however this tends to be the case with a lot of European hotels.

Even with the convenience, we would not choose to stay here again. I have never slept in more uncomfortable bed. The rooms were so tiny, but that is understandable. The horrible beds and no sleep ruined the stay.

- chris (8/5): Great location - We stayed at the Alfa hotel for two nights while we were in Munich. It's in a great location! If you're looking for fancy, this isn't for you but if you're looking for a clean place in a great location, it's perfect. It was my husband and two sons. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the train station and the Augustiner Keller Biergarten which I also highly recommend.

- Amber (6/5): Nothing fancy but great location. - Everyone was nice except one, whose name I didn't get but always seemed very annoyed about something. The rooms are small but clean, no in room coffee maker or iron and ironing board. However, the location was great and very convenient to the meeting place for our tours (5 min walk). Nice breakfast buffet for an extra charge.

- Jen (8/5): Would stay again! - The location of this hotel is very convenient- next to the main train station with a grocery store close by. I was worried about a previous reviewer commenting on extra charges. However we were not charged extra for air conditioning or WIFI. We did pay extra for breakfast on two of the mornings and it was quite nice. Some might consider the room size small, but it was exactly as I expected from other European trips and included a mini fridge. The staff is very helpful and available 24 hours. I would definitely stay again!

- Jeff (10/5): Near the Bahnhof - I have stayed here several times and everytime it's great. It is 5 mins walk to the train station and withing walking distance to the old town and all the sights there. the breakfast is large and varied. Something for everyone. the room I had was large for a single. with an updated bathroom and large shower. I stay here every year and have never had a reason to look elsewhere.

- Richard (8/5): Convenient, friendly, welcoming, and clean hotel - First time to Munchen to visit the Oktoberfest and local area. Paid our respects at Dachau, quite disturbing! The Oktoberfest is so well planned. I'd recommend making a hall reservation to anyone going as the beer halls were rammed and there was little or no room to get in. The HB carousel was cool. If you love sausages then thats for you too, with snitzel and dumplings and sour kraut - fantastic food.

- Carolyn (6/5): Overpriced. Hidden charges. - I booked it because it was more reasonable compared to those hotels truly in the city center. The price seemed a little high to begin with but it was last minute and was a bit cheaper than others in the area. When I arrived I was informed that I needed to pay an extra 20 euros per day for air conditioning. This was not disclosed on the site, or at least not prominently. I also had to pay for wifi, 5 euros for a week which was fine on our two night stay. Unfortunately it is only useable for one device at a time, which is a challenge with two adults and two kids. The staff was okay, on a late night return we had to wait for 15 minutes for someone to show up at reception for our key. There is no safe in the hotel room either. Hotel is a bit run down, but clean. There is a tiny restaurant/bar which was not inviting.
- Susan (6/5): Munich. Beware - BEWARE... They have air conditioning BUT they charge you to use it. That is not disclosed anywhere on Hotels.com. They charge for everything!!!
