I called the hotel in advance, and spoke with Tatianna. She was lovely, patient and answered my endless questions and helped with planning. Upon arrival she welcomed us with a full heart and made us feel so special. The room had some special treats for us and a kind note. The room was absolutely stunning, beautiful views, well designed and clean. Great atmosphere. The neighborhood is also so convenient and fun located near lots of great restaurants, bars and Washington square park. It’s also located near the NYU buildings. Can’t say enough amazing things about our stay!! It was really magical.

Room was small (it’s NYC), and was actually pretty standard- no pun intended, bed was comfy. Big gorgeous window that they have mounted a giant TV in front of. extra bummer that it is not a smart TV and has no streaming with only 60 channels. Distinct lack of common area spaces and amenities in the hotel other than the gym access across the street. Probably wouldn’t recommend this hotel at the price point.

Everyone was warm, attentive, and professional. A special thank you to Shavone, Sha, and Tatianna, who each went out of their way to make our stay particularly enjoyable. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The “standard” room is small, which is typical for New York City, but the space was thoughtfully designed and the views were terrific. The location is also excellent and made it easy to enjoy the neighborhood and explore the city. We would not hesitate to recommend The Standard to others and would happily stay there again.

We were there for a nearby wedding on the coldest weekend of the year and we were glad there were good restaurants there so we didn't have to leave. Lee at the front desk was friendly and helpful and the restaurant staff was too!

Most notably the staff are so friendly. This was unexpected and stood out, from the doormen to the front desk, to the restaurant staff (special shout outs to Trey, Lee, and Shavone). Then there are the rooms, much more spacious for NYC standards and all enclosed bathroom. Very functional and comfortable. The restaurant has great food and drinks as well so when we were in a pinch without reservations we dined in and the tacos were amazing and delicious. Really enjoyed my stay and will certainly be back.

- 991belmap (10/5): Now Loyal to The Standard - From the moment we walked in - we were treated with such warmth and kindness from the staff in the lobby. The level of attention was off the charts!! So much so that I had to ask for their names because I truly have not experienced such spectacular service and kindness at a hotel - ever (and I travel often!). I want to personally send a thank you to: Tati Shavone Kim Demarko for helping us start our trip off on the most joyous note. The hotel is so chic. The rooms are always clean/crisp and a great size for NYC. The bathrooms are modern and the beds are comfortable. Truly no complaints.

- 486travell (2/5): staying here is like lighting money on fire - Lee at the front desk was great. He was 100% the best part of our stay. Ask him for neighborhood recommendations. Rooms are way too small for the price with no refrigerator and little to no temperature control. No microwave so don't think you can take leftovers back unless you can eat them before they spoil. Room service was good. Pet friendly was cool but so many hotels in manhattan allow dogs now. The hotel smelt like weed a lot. Meeko at the front desk said there was nothing she could do about the noise level in our hallway and then proceeded to text on her phone while we stood there.

The hotel is conveniently located, rooms are clean, housekeeping is great, there are multiple bars accessible from within the hotel, but what I always appreciate most is the service. Lee and Tatianna at the front desk were exceptional from the moment we checked in and throughout our entire stay. I would definitely stay here again!

The room was perfect for one person, and could comfortably accommodate a second, although the wardrobe space is somewhat limited. Breakfast is served à la carte, which was a nice touch (not included in the price of the room), and the bar is excellent.

Yesterday I checked in with my pug Archie and the entire team Lee, Myko, and DeMarco rolled out the red carpet. They are so friendly and generous with dog treats! The rooms are always immaculate and the huge windows offer great views of the city and good light.
- jimmyf71 (10/5): Wonderful Stay at the Standard EV - Terrific location in the East Village -- walking distance to SoHo, Union Square, LES, and Chinatown. The hotel staff were kind and warm, cultivating a truly hospitable environment that felt quintessentially NYC. We were generously upgraded to a Premier King room and provided a variety of amenities as Hyatt Globalists: welcome snacks, a generous breakfast credit, and late check-out. Room was on the smaller side but adequate and functional with a firm-ish bed and an accompanying desk and armchair. And absolutely shut off from street traffic -- at one point, I could hear people in adjacent rooms, but that didn't last long thankfully. However, they provide ear plugs in the bathroom if you at all need them. Pillows were on the softer side (we prefer hard and firm pillows so this was a little less comfortable for us, but we still had good sleep regardless.) As a very sensitive sleeper, I was overall very happy. Breakfast was served at Cafe Breakfast with delicious a la carte options made with quality ingredients and care: every item we selected during our stay hit the mark: steak and eggs (both were actually cooked to preference unlike some restaurants that give you a well done steak when you request medium rare, etc.) , pancakes with butterscotch walnuts, chocolate croissant, and more. The drink menu also had a wide selection ranging from drip coffee to matcha latte (I saw a barista whisking our drink by hand). I highly recommend this hotel, especially for solo travelers or couples.

The check in with Vicky was easy and I appreciated her honesty in telling me that my reserved room had a better view than taking the first available room when trying to check in early. The location was perfect so many delicious food options. I really appreciated housekeeping (especially Fatmire) who was on it each morning to make sure that I returned to a nice clean and tidy room. The room was surprisingly quiet, which made for great sleep during my stay. I would stay here again.

She was wonderfully friendly and kind while making our check in experience totally smooth. Kershel then went above and beyond by picking up on a very small comment we made and arranged a wonderful surprise for us. All of our experiences with the team at the hotel were wonderful, they are a great group of kind people who clearly get along and have very high standards of customer service. The room was delightful, clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect - a few minutes walk from 3-4 subway stations; walking distance to shopping on Fifth Avenue, plenty of cabs; lots of amazing bars & restaurants nearby. Really cannot recommend enough.

- dikeq2024 (10/5): Yours Truly. - From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the doorman. Before we could enter the building, he met us by the car and offered a cart for our luggage. Checking in was also a warm experience, we were offered water as Kershel confirmed our room numbers and placed our card on file. She gave us a brief virtual tour and told us to call front desk if we had any questions. The room and the views were nothing short of amazing. My favorite part of the room was the shower, it felt elegant, a little old school but somehow modern. And being a true NY hotel, where there’s a deli on every block, you didn’t have to go far to get a lot of things that you needed. The minibar’s selection had everything you could think of. We really wanted to have a lazy day, so we opted to get some room service. The food and the driver service were top notch. Armillio hastily delivered the food and left us with all the instructions we needed to ensure that we didn’t have to sleep with dirty dishes in the room. This is NYC, you can get beautiful views and a comfortable bed almost everywhere but when sprinkle in great personalized service, that filters out a lot of options but it definitely leaves The Standard standing!

The location is perfect if you want to go deeper into the city or make a quick run to Downtown Brooklyn. There’s lots of restaurants in the area so that’s a plus. Front desk staff was friendly and attentive. My room was immaculately clean. The rooftop views here are amazing. The hotel is very peaceful and mostly quiet. I didn’t encounter any major issues while staying here so I would definitely recommend it to others.

I love the huge windows in some of the rooms. There’s a cute little room in the second floor to work or hang in and there’s also a conference room and a patio. I loved the location— easy to hit East Village hot spots and Tompkins Square Park. I’m vegan and they have lots of vegan spots nearby. I think what made the stay the best was the staff! Also shoutout to the IT or media guy who helped us on Sun 12/14! We wanted to out football but our tv wasn’t working and he had to come back a few times to get it working. We were so appreciative! Also, the woman working the front desk on that day! She helped us with our room mixup and got us into a suite!

The rooms are beautifully, decorated, and fixtures were better than expected in a hotel. It felt like home with all the amenities that were provided. The view was exceptional on the 17th floor.

Front desk team was warm and helpful- special shout out to Lee who was very welcoming. Our room was big and light enough to be a welcome break / siesta between our day and evening events. Librae Bakery next door makes locally-famous croissants. Gym membership to Crunch across the street kept me on track while eating out so much. Bonus that a new high-end grocery store, Wegmans, is right by the train stop- perfect to grab snacks. As someone who lived in the city over 10 years ago, its just ideal to stay in a low-rise neighborhood, walk to Soho / west village, and have so many great restaurant choices.
