Also when leaving I encountered a rude member of staff who told me if the gate does not open then I have to take my luggage there although I was specifically told by another member of staff that they can ask security to open the gate. His manner and tone was offensive

- Robin (8/5): Great location, breakfast, helpful staff, just check room before unpacking if in older section - Excellent location close to Paddington, canal, Kensington Gardens, although hard to find the first time since I didn't know where I was going. Because my first room was unsatisfactory, I was given an upgrade to a higher floor with an entertaining view over the train tracks, highway, and city. The breakfast was superb, great variety, just missing yoghurt (and preferably unsweetened). Staff was super nice and friendly. I would stay there again. There was a terrible smell in the shower stall in the first room I was given, with dark mildew between tiles. I couldn't understand why they didn't just spray the grout and scrub with a toothbrush. The carpet was also stained. This was an expensive hotel that should have higher standards! A staff member showed me a different room, no smell, but the tile was also stained. So he gave me an upgrade to a newly renovated room on a top floor. which was very nice although painted a bit dark and had a thermostat that shined brightly directly onto the bed. I'd stay there again, but just check the room first.

- Joanna (8/5): Convenient location - Location is very good if you are using public transportation, being minutes away from Paddington Station The room is carpeted and although it was vacuumed, it was stained giving the room a shabby look. I also don't like having the toilet separate as you still need to use the bathroom to wash your hands. We had come across this in most hotels in France but the first time in the UK

- Judith (9/5): Good location less than a 10 minute walk from Paddington station. - We arrived before check in time and were offered an upgrade to a recently updated room that was ready if we joined their loyalty scheme which we did. Otherwise we could have just stored our luggage. Had breakfast on one day and it was very good with a wide choice. The room was spacious and modern. The steam room was out of order which was a shame. Not sure they were aware either.

- Carlos (9/5): We will definitely come back! - Hotel was great - room was very comfortable and the leisure area was also very good. Staff was always nice and helped us with all our requests. We would definitely come back again. The area surrounding the hotel is also super nice - with a square with a fountain where my son played a lot in the sun - and many restaurants. Nothing.

No drawers for clothing , severe lack of hanging space, no hooks anywhere, toilet around the corner from the bathroom, tiniest bathroom, no room to turn around. 3 uber drivers cancelled on us because they could not find location. - X8888TPkarinec (6/5): Awful new decor in the bedrooms! - Having been an Accor member for many years and a regular visitor of that hotel in London I was absolutely appalled to find that the newly refurbished Executive room I was given was painted all dark green/military kaki. There were also some weird black tubes/handles/bars that made me think that perhaps they had given me a room for people with mobility issues to hold on to. The room was incredibly dark, a mixture of very dark matt green, black and grey. The furniture was also all black or dark green. There were no bottles of water in the fridge whereas on all my previous stays there had been several bottles provided as well as a small box of chocolates to welcome me as a regular client. There were no bathrobe and slippers to use the spa which normally came as standard in Executive rooms. I complained to Reception and was told that Accor Management had decided to apply the same colours to all Novotels and to stop providing bottles of water, bathrobes, slippers. The rest of the hotel (entrance hall, restaurant, bar area) was really nice though. Even though there was a lot of green, it was not so dark and stark as in the rooms. The location is great and the spa area is nice. The staff is very friendly too. However, the rooms are claustrophobic and I could not wait to leave. Very disappointing!

- Julia (8/5): Great hotel for a family Easter break. - Great hotel in a lovely location between Paddington Central and Little Venice. Friendly staff , comfortable beds and good breakfast. Good little gym and swimming pool. Rooms were very hot and the air con was not effective - we stayed in April and it was not hot. Would not stay in Summer.
- Gmainer (9/5): Ein sehr schöner und "very amazing" Aufenthalt! - Wir waren 2013 schon einmal im Novotel-Paddington und waren damals schon sehr angetan und können wieder nur sagen - TOP. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, ausgezeichnetes Frühstücksbüffet, hatten auch einmal Essen mit Zimmerservice - super funktioniert. Die Nähe zu Paddington-Station ist unbezahlbar und es ist war dennoch wieder sehr ruhig. Vor dem Hotel nette Grünanlagen und auch sehr nette Lokale - vor allem am nahen Wasserkanal. Kann nix meckern - außer vielleicht, dass - wenn man schon in England ist - "salted butter" beim Frühstücksbuffet nett wäre, vielleicht haben wir sie aber auch bei der ganzen Fülle übersehen.

- Karin Christine (9/5): - Modernes, sauberes Haus, freundliches Personal. Der Barbereich uns gleichzeitig Frühstücksraum ist sehr schön. Gute Anbindung ( U-Bahn und Busse) Der Weg zur U-Bahn war etwas weiter als angenommen. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück war leider nicht gut.

- Ildiko (8/5): Great location, nice room, breakfast had many choices, coffee machine is excellent. - Location was great, room was one of the recently refurbished one, nr. 901. Swimming pool was quite small but my son enjoyed it. Breakfast was great too. Cleaning staff was knocking on every door in the morning. Do they not have a plan in place?

- Cameron (7/5): For the location and price, I would stay there again - Great Bar area, friendly staff and great location 500m from Paddington tubes and station. Lack of UBI and plug points to charge your phones and laptops. Aircons are turned off during winter as the heating is automatically switch over and you cant be controlled separately in rooms. However they did give me a fan which did do the trick.
- 298trishn (8/5): We would stay again - We headed here as a family and we loved our stay. The hotel is brilliantly located close to Paddington Station as long as you can find the right exit. It's in a fab little area with plenty to see and a selection of restaurants and shops on the door step. As it's close to the underground it made for a great base for us as a family heading to different parts of town. I arrived really early and the team were welcoming. While I waited I headed for a pot of tea in the bar area. If you do arrive early it's a great spot to watch the world go by. Sadly our room was not ready for a while after the check in time but there was plenty of space to sit and wait and the team had already taken our bags into the store. The hotel is lovely and clean and the rooms well set up. You can see by the odd fixture that the rooms could do with a little bit of an upgrade. As others have mentioned the plug sockets are in really odd places. We usually travel with an extended cable and I regret not having it with us on this trip. The rooms are super hot. We made use of the lovely pool which was easily accessible and beautifully kept. My tip would be to get changed into your swimming stuff in your room as there is only one changing cubicle. We also had a fab meal in the restaurant. The restaurant was relatively relaxed which made eating with the kids good fun We did get there early and I glad we did as when it got busy the service did suffer a bit. .That said the staff were all very friendly and super helpful. The breakfast was great and it's fair to say that the standard and selection was excellent. we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

- S (9/5): A recommander ++ - L'hôtel était vraiment bien situé, proche de plusieurs lignes de métro à pied pour faire des activités, la chambre était top avec l'équipement nécessaire à disposition et le lit très confortable. Un petit déjeuner de qualité avec de la variété ! Mention spéciale pour l'accueil, l'écoute et le professionnalisme de Oumaima qui a fait toute la différence de ce séjour au Novotel. Je recommande les yeux fermés !

- Decheal (8/5): Lovely modern hotel, with a few room niggles - Very welcoming and helpful staff, lovely modern hotel surroundings with plenty of places to eat & drink, exceptional sound proofing, massive comfortable twin beds in our room, modern bar/ restaurant for great buffet cooked breakfast. Although the room decor was well maintained- a couple of items needed fixing: the shower temp couldn't be moved ( from only warm), the shower door leaked on to the bathroom floor, the room aircon was pretty ineffective.

- Bhenriks (10/5): Great customer service and spa area. - I stayed a weekend at the hotel with my daughter. We really enjoyed the location very central and with easy transport to and from the airport. The pool and spa area was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. I had issue with a parcel and Nicoleta and Silvija went above and beyond to assist me. The service I experienced during my stay was exceptionel.
