Yue (6/5): - The hotel is in good condition and comfortable I asked the hotel staff to call a taxi for us to Pudong Airport, they arranged a taxi from a very small taxi company, and the taxi clearly did something to the meter ---- the meter shows 232 RMB and I did not say a thing just paid it; but from the hotel to Pudong Airport, it should cost no more than 150 RMB by taxi and even cheaper if you use platforms such as DiDi. I am Chinese/Shanghainese, but I don't have wechat pay or Ali pay and hence I had to call taxi. I grow up in SH and know all the tricks that some/many of my fellow Chinese/Shanghainese like to play to make some extra pity money, but I was still a bit surprised that in 2025, we still had many such bahavuors/actions in the taxi industry in SH. What has this to do with the hotel? Well, anyone born in SH and grow up in SH would know --- it was the hotel staff who called the taxi for me, and I suspect they thought I was a foreigner or someone who did not know SH well or had little knowledge about their tricks (collusion with some small taxi companies to overcharge "silly/naive" customers...100 or 90 RMB is about 20 dollars and frankly not a big deal to me at all, but the fact that they tried to cheat me and treat me like a Chongtou (meaning idiot or fool who can be easily cheated in SH dialect) made me decide to spend some time to reveal their pity and dirty tricks. It is sad that in 2025, SH's 5-star hotel still has such things like we used to have in 1985 !!!

Elena (10/5): - Luxury and spacious hotel rooms with good view, I had free upgrade to bigger studio apartment, nice park next to the hotel and good breakfast with variety of local specialties like wonton soup and many others, staff speaks english on very good level.

The surroundings are serene and private, providing a truly relaxing atmosphere. Didi and the metro offer convenient options for exploring Shanghai. Location is quite far from central places.

Sadia (7/5): - We booked in Shanghi Sheraton hotel because we had an amazing stay in Beijing Sheraton. The staff were so welcoming and smiling all the time. They were so helpful and courteous. Unfortunately Shanghi Sheraton was just the opposite. We were surprised that there were no irons in the rooms and what was astonishing is that no one answers the phone although the hotel was not crowded. This is a five star hotel but we were so surprised, again and again ,that the front desk wanted us to take our luggage , we had a lot of pieces .I could add that the staff were not friendly at all like the other hotels we stayed in during our trip to China.

The ladies on the phone did not understand a word a was saying and started giggling and was very unprofessional treated and ended up not ordering and had to walk to the restaurant. Addressed this issue to restaurant manager and he told me it was external issue.

We ordered a cold plate of cheese and meat which arrived half an hour after ordering. We were aware that the service ended at 11 pm. No bread or crackers were served and the wine glass had soap residue. The staff didn’t seem to know what to do.

This hotel is rated 5 stars, but in reality, it barely deserves 3, maybe 4 stars at best. I’m staying on the 37th floor in a room where the air conditioning is broken. I called to report it, and they claimed everything was fine, but the room is noticeably warmer than the hallway. Their only solution was to give me a fan – seriously? The pillows were disgusting – they smelled like sweaty men. I asked for replacements, and although they brought new ones, those also smelled awful. Do you even wash the actual pillows, or just the pillowcases? It's unhygienic and unacceptable. And then the windows… covered in greasy smudges from people’s hands and foreheads. Do you ever clean them? It’s honestly disgusting to look at. The service was just as bad. When I tried to extend my stay because I was too exhausted to move to another hotel, one of the front desk staff completely ignored me. No interest, no empathy. This is NOT a 5-star hotel experience. I feel misled, disappointed, and uncomfortable. Take one of those stars back – it’s not deserved. Would absolutely not recommend.

KIN FAI GARY (6/5): - Room is generally ok for buisness travel, not for family or leisure as there aren't much choices for transport nor restaurants nearby. Broken shower head when i check in the room. The two sinks in room, one cannot take out the water cap and so I have stored the water for 2 days, as I am just travel for business and not in room for long during daytime. General condition for room is fine. Breakfast is having many choices though and service in buffet breakfast is good.
