Guest Reviews
- Sara (10/5): Excellent staff and excellent services, the best! - The staff it’s so friendly, the services are the top! All you need in one hotel.
- Renato (10/5): De acordo com as expectativas! - Pequeno almoço e localização boa.
- Pamela (10/5): Great hotel with exceptional staff who were beyond kind and helpful when one of our group had an injury. - The rooms had everything you needed and were spacious. The en-suite with a bath, and plenty of hot water, was a bonus. The uphill walk back from the slopes!!!
- Anna (9/5): Great skiing with a nice quality hotel - everything was very nice and pleasant and well organised
Pas de la Casa is great and I would definitely come back if I could ... Beautiful abundant skiing and nice people!!! Some guests were loud on a staircase when coming back from a night out and after 10 p.m. : I suggested the hotel to introduce a written stricter "quiet" policy after 10 pm - some kind of more awareness making as I found this really disturbing. I was on a sporty skiing holiday, so going to bed early and waking up early. Fortunately, these guests were minority, as the hotel is hosting mostly adults who respect other guests and understand the needs of others for sleep and relaxation. It is not a "budget" hotel, so fortunately it was not packed with crowds of youngsters who are quite loud coming back from a night partying. The Hotel is also well located and NOT in the centre of a party hub and cheaper accommodation, so a bit away from loud parties and crowds of party makers... Pas de la Casa is great and I would definitely come back if I could ... Beautiful abundant skiing and nice people!!!

- W6428CYlilib (10/5): Baths and slippers - I was impressed by the service, response to my email was fast. Very clean and friendly staff. Great breakfast and quiet at night because it's quiet far up the hill so you need to be fit to walk up and down. I loved the bath, dressing grown and slippers!
- Heatherhis (8/5): Exceeded expectations - We had booked a different hotel but the hotel sold and Crystal rebooked us to here. I was a little hesitant due to a few reviews but we wanted to stick to Pas so went with it. I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. As locations go in Pas it’s pretty good. It’s up the hill, so a little quieter and you can cut through to the piste in about 3 mins walk. The hotel itself is noisy, thin walls, noisy pipes, banging doors, lift etc but nothing a good pair of ear plus won’t sort. Shower so powerful it stripped daughters fake tan!
Room was clean, modern and comfortable. For the price it was well worth it. Breakfast fairly basic but classical ski hotel.
For anyone who has been before, it’s just behind Hotel Christina and Hotel Camelot. This is my 3rd time to Pas and probably my last. I’d definitely go back to Sport Hotel Village in Soldeu if I was to come Andorra again but if you’re set on Pas, this is a great choice.
- Culture15197267447 (10/5): Good hotel would re visit. - Really good value for money hotel. Rooms are fine. Staff are excellent, made to feel very welcome. The breakfast is amazing. A full Catalan breakfast with so much choice.
A little further up the hill than expected, but not a problem.
Highly recommend.
- elaineandgary (8/5): Lovely hotel, excellent staff - We chose the Hotel Caribou for its location within Pas for our ski trip.
The rooms were very clean, excellent bathrooms and a breakfast that was very good and plentiful.
The staff, extremely helpful and will recommend ski hire and any info needed for a ski trip.
There is a locker room for skis and boots in the basment and a lift to all floors.
The walk from the hotel to the ski lifts, all important.
A walk downhill is approx 300m, then a cut through a small 'tunnel' and you appear above the ski lifts. Put your skis on for a 100m drop to the lifts which will give access to all areas.
On your return, ski back to the same point, skis off and walk back the 300m to the hotel.
To access bars and restaurants, a five minute walk from the hotel.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Pas - look no further.
- S5204DCcaroliner (8/5): Apartment Caribou - a very nice stay! - We were a family of four, who stayed at the apartment building of Caribou. The location of the place is excellent - took us about 3 minutes to walk out into the slopes and even though it hadn't snowed for almost a month, it is the main slope leading down to Pas de la Casa, so they always keep it in good condition.
The staff is very helpful and friendly - recommended and helped us book restaurants. Also speek good English.
Very clean - even smelled clean all day long and we constantly met staff vacuming or sweeping the floor.
There is a small supermarket in the same building, opens at 8 in the morning and offers fresh baked bread. They stay open until 9 and has the most essential stuff you need. There is also a lounge area, with a bar and tv that shows soccer games.
Our apartment was well planned and offer enough space for the four of us - only down side was it is a bit noicy during the night when people are walking home from the bars.
- kevin_pack (6/5): The good the bad and the ugly - The good is staff friendly and helpful.the bad is its VERY noisy at night.
My room is directly under the restaurant-no 102. All you can her is chairs being dragged along the floor. I did complain on my first night and was told it wasn’t late- it was 11-30 pm.
I had to wear my apple pods every night to get any sleep.
The hotel bar doesn’t open till 4.
The lifts are a mystery and don’t stop at the bar-or appear to.
Finally the ugly-the location.
It’s a 300 meter walk to the “new tunnel” ok going down-killer going up after a days skiing.
If you walk to the many bars- walking back is a real leg burner.
Pas de Casa is a cheap resort for food and drink.
However after 11 turns into a student frat house.if your over 35 go out early -go home early.
Slopes are busy regardless of time of season.
- johnhuh1980 (8/5): Great showers, perfect heating, good food. Location bad - We stayed one week on floor 1 which is above the kitchen.
Here is pro's and con's:
PRO's:
* Food is good. Salad, Fruit and desserts are good. Food is also customized to suit the english tourists. Always something fried haha. During our week we had crab, shrimps, paella, squid etc. Drinks have to be ordered and is not included.
* Clean rooms and good cleaning
* Showers are strong and warm
* the heating works really fast. The radiators got warm superquick.
* hotel is recently renovated so the electric plugs are conventiently located next to beds.
* wifi works perfectly everywhere
CON's:
* the swing door from kitchen could be heard up to the room. Quite annoying considering that dinner ends 22:30
* Location is bad. Because of the altitude it's tiring to just walk around. Imagine walking back and forth to hotel everyday. There is a shortcut to slope through hotel olimpiad though.
* no sauna or jacuzzi
* not all rooms have balcony
I would return to this hotel if I got a room with balcony and good view. Also if hotel could arrange pickup of luggage from the main parking area.
- mirtilld (8/5): Ski holiday - We have stayed for one week in Hotel Caribou. Basically we were satisfied with the hotel, but we have collected some very good and some bad points too.
Good ones:
- Food. The food was very very good, I could say amazing. Many people do not like the Spanish kitchen, and then maybe this place is not for you, but I think there is always something that you can eat and like. There is always different type of fish/seafood for dinner as well as other kind of meat and different pasta. The variety is huge and the courses are different from day to day. It is never boring.
The same goes for breakfast, it was super delicious and plenty of different kind of dishes every day.
Half-board totally worth it and highly recommended!!!!
- On the first day we have arrived very late and some food and drinks were put into our room without any before requests. This was super nice!!!
- Cleaning. The cleanliness of the hotel and room was also very nice. They have cleaned the room every day brought new towels body-milk and shower gel/ shampoo. Also they made the bed every day and changed the trash bin.
- The staff was nice and helpful, however most of them don’t speak good English, but we could make ourselves understood.
- The ski slopes are 200 miters of walk, so it is very close which is a high pro after a long day of skiing.
- The hotel has it’s own ski lockers in the basement which was also nice.
- The temperature in the room can be changed up to around 26 degrees of Celsius, so even if the night is -15 out there, the room is warm as much as you want.
Bad ones:
- The room is quite small, considering that some people are coming for a whole week with huge luggages.
- In the ski locker they have special place for the boots but it is not heated. It is a bit uncomfortable and not so positive that you lock the wet equipment into the locker and next day it is still wet, especially the inside of the boots.
- At the website of some travel agencies they wrote (and also here at some comments) that the hotel has sauna and hot tub. Maybe this is not the fault of the hotel but I think they should tell all The agencies that they are in contact with if they remove any of these facilities. So the hotel HAS NO SAUNA OR HOT TUB.
- slee1332 (8/5): Good value - Good location. 200m walk to the piste and a little ski down to the lifts. Away from restaurants and bars so it’s quiet, but you can easily walk into town to shops/restaurants etc.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was great! Dinner was ok.. nothing to rave about. Some odd dishes.
I thought the pricing was reasonable compared to other hotels. It’s clean and modern.
- Trip768292 (10/5): A strange but very nice hotel - The layout of the hotel it´s a bit strange and at first we may think it´s unorganized, but the truth is that Caribou Hotel has other advantages that make it become meaningless.
The Hotel rooms are comfortable and cozy, the Hotel is so close to the ski courses that you can almost put your skis on when leaving the reception area. Another details as the "Jamon Iberico" that they serve in some nights and the bar on the top of the Hotel (with an amazing view) make it one of the best hotels in Pas de la Casa with Hotel Cristina on the top as well.
Caribou Hotel as also a amazing service, all the workers are very kind and ready to do anything for you, I was there for a week and i loved it.
- Trickey-Dickey (10/5): Perfect - If you're like us and don't like clubs banging away next door, friendly courteous service, excellent breakfasts and dinners (as half board option), big bedrooms and awesome powerful showers then you'll love the Caribou Hotel. Make sure you ask for a room wth a view of the town and mountains, lovely to wake up to in the morning. The free welcome cocktail is a nice touch. Plenty of street parking nearby as long as you are not here peak season.
- tomasd967 (6/5): Nice view and convenient for slopes but not 4-star. - Stayed for a week of ski with a group of friends. We arrived during a huge snowstorm after a terrible drive through the mountains with faulty snow chains and -15ºC. At reception no one could help even hanging the door open to allow us to get our luggage inside. Staff were just sitting there looking at us absolutely tired after a 1300km ride.
First given room was extremely small and had view to a wall. Complained at the reception and after a small discussion the guy gave us another room while swearing in Spanish. New room had great views and was decently sized, with good quality bed and bathroom. We were told since the room had a balcony we were supposed to keep our skis in there, with the ski locker in the basement being reserved for rooms without window. This does not make sense since we had to carry all the equipment through the hotel damaging lifts, walls, floors, but worked fine. Wifi was terrible, it worked properly only at the lobby and restaurant areas.
Food was very good, but always the same everyday. The personnel at the restaurant were kind and helpful.
Overall experience was OK: convenient to ski, decent rooms to get a good rest and acceptable food, but don't expect more.
- TrailBlazer702160 (8/5): Mar - Very nice Hotel with great staff . Especially menager in the restaurant , she is amazing woman :) Food was also delicious :) Hotel is located not far from the slope. Pas de la casa is lovely town and really worth to see . We had a gret time and will definatelly come back .
- GeoffreyandLily (8/5): Lovely staff and great breakfast! - Very friendly staff on arrival (especially considering how late we where, they even put food on!) and the room was nice and clean. Some bizarrely placed mirrors in the shower, but overall nice layout of the room.
Breakfast was very good and plenty of options.
We would certainly stay again!
- 365beng (10/5): Lovely hotel and very helpful staff - We stayed at Arka for a ski vacation, and had a great time. The hotel is clean, well maintained and modern, with a jacuzzi and a sauna (just what you need after a long day in the slopes!), but the real gem is the staff. All of the people at the hotel were super nice and helpful, and made our stay at Arka great.
Many thanks!
- Deano1984newman (10/5): THIS HOTEL IS CALLED HOTEL ARKA - This advert on trip advisor does not do this hotel any justice. It has had a complete refit and is called the hotel ARKA and it's lovely.
The rooms are spacious clean nice bathroom with bath and shower.
The bar on the top floor is friendly and affordable
There is ski storage in the basement.
The breakfast buffet is lovely with eggs bacon sausage and fruits and yogurts and pastrys and plenty selection.
All the staff are friendly welcoming and really helpful.
The hotel is located near the town and the slope BUT is at the top of a hill!! good for exercise.
I would definitly stay at this hotel again and ignore all the previous old reviews.
- 857ruthw (8/5): Great stay with staff who go the extra mile - We stayed here for a week over Valentine's when my boyfriend proposed the staff made an excellent effort staying late so we could use the jacuzzi, providing champagne and sweets! Great breakfast each morning with warm and friendly staff. And what can be said about Simon the barman made our holiday always attentive to our needs and very friendly one of the best barmen we've come across, staff like this is why we come back!!
Only fault about this hotel is the beds, all single when a double would be much better or at least the option of! Great staff food and facilities.
Thank you for everything!
- 847shacharb (8/5): very nice hotel - Very nice hotel, welcoming staff, the food is very good and it is very close to the ski resort (Although there are closer hotels.
The price is good for the services it provides- breakfasts, dinners, sauna, Jacuzzi.
The WIFI is not good and crashes usually.
- peledan55 (8/5): Always read an updated reviews - This hotel was not in my first priority. we had to choose it because there were no other choices around my mate (Himalaya hotel). I read the confusing reviews from the last 2 years ago 2013-4, and low my expectations.
The visit at the hotel was completely in a contrary for all parameters that was written about it year ago.
we find a cosy hotel well maintained and wonderful open buffet with a very good and tasty dishes. The stuff were very friendly and most of them spoke English and French as well.
ski room had planty of space and option to save the skies and boots.
There is a nice Bar on the top of the hose nice place to stay on apreski.
There was a Sauna in my floor but I didn't use it.The hot-tub on -5 floor was hot as needed but the room was not warm enough and there was no option to get an extra towell, pretty nusty to pass back frozen to your room.
The room was big enough for 2 and most of the time fairly clean.
we had to walk 5 minutes to the slope excess and 8 minutes back uphill to the hotel entrance, very good warm up and cool down on the way back:).
I will recommend that Hotel to my friends.
