Rooms are a great size for NYC, but expect noisy nights - I moved to room 305 which was much quieter than the Chambers St-facing rooms. Generally enjoyed my stay and would return (as it's a work-recommended hotel), however, communication with the team post my visit was poor. I had to email several times to get the final invoice, which was incorrect with mini bar charges. I asked these to be removed, and I was simply ignored ... get your bill as you check out and check it!

Location is unbeatable and it’s a very proper high end hotel experience with solid rooms and a nice building. This is actually very rare to have in NY hotels unless you go for outmost luxury. This is extra and would probably make the hotel jump into a different tier but if it had a spa / sauna would have been amazing

I have never met a a staff that balances professionalism, hospitality, and friendliness(In that order) like the staff I met during my stay. Johnny or Jonny was helped me work through an issue I had on my company reservation portal and was patient, kind, and accommodating the entire time. Mario didn’t let me touch a bag the entire time I was in the building, I felt so cared for and had a lovely conversation. Mariah greeted me with so much warmth and ensured I had everything I needed. No matter if it was check in or if I was just popping out for a coffee, she would ask me how I was and if there was anything she could do for me. I cannot say enough about how pleasant my experience was and it was all thanks to the lovely staff and my very well kept room.

There was paint peeling from the ceiling, broken floors duck-taped together. Other flooring that was completely scratched up and discolored. Chunks missing from the wallpaper. Saggy mattress. Dingy hallway with dirty carpet. On a positive note, the lounge and restaurant downstairs were both nice and the staff seemed friendly.

We were initially in a lower room facing the street which was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. There was a temporary metal plate on the pavement resulting in loud noise when cars drove over it. It was difficult to sleep with this noise, even with a fan for white noise, so we spoke to Eduardo at the front desk about switching rooms. He was extremely nice and accommodating. He relocated us to an interior facing jr suite. Again it was a beautiful room, very quiet and comfortable. The hotel is spotless. It’s in the best location with a train station right outside the front door. Lots of restaurants to choose from all within easy walking distance. The highlight, though, was Eduardo!

We chose a room with a balcony/patio, which was a nice feature to have. That said, because of that room type, the room itself was quite small, with just enough space for a queen bed. It’s something to keep in mind if you value extra room space over outdoor access. On the plus side, the bathroom was surprisingly large, very clean, and beautifully done, which made a big difference in overall comfort. What truly made this stay exceptional was the service. Qualeemah (Bella) went above and beyond to help me make my partner’s 50th birthday—on New Year’s Eve—really special. Her communication in advance was excellent, and she was incredibly helpful in coordinating room decorations and details. That level of care and attentiveness made the experience memorable and personal. I would absolutely return to this hotel if I’m staying in Tribeca again, and I’d happily recommend it—especially for anyone celebrating a special occasion and looking for thoughtful, standout service.

My husband and I got the Tribeca Suites and were getting ready with our respective bridal parties in there. The staff made us feel so special that it was our wedding weekend and I truly cannot be happier. The Tribeca Suite was very spacious, clean, and perfect to get ready in and take wedding photos in. The Tribeca location is perfect for me as I like to be downtown and in Brooklyn, and the hotel is easily accessible by train. But it is the staff that makes me come back again and again. They are all wonderful and welcoming. Xavier is always my first contact as he greets me at the door, and immediately sets the tone for my visit. He is always gracious and incredibly helpful. I love this hotel!

Mario is an absolute star & he always takes care of my family and I with such warmth and professionalism. It feels like coming home when I get to speak with him & I truly love seeing him each day. Johnny is also another staff member that has been very helpful and I appreciate everything he does as the front desk can be challenging. Staying at the Smyth is always comfortable and the location in the city can’t be beat. Great restaurants in walking distance, train right outside, & central to everything you need.

- Dan Moshe (6/5): שהייה מביכה באופן לא מוסבר - בנובמבר 2024 אחרי שהות של 5 לילות דירגתי את המלון בציון - 9, והשנה קיוויתי לתת ציון 10 בסופו של דבר נתתי 6 ההסבר למטה בנובמבר 2024 אחרי 5 לילות דירגתי את המלון בציון - 9, והשנה קיוויתי לתת ציון 10 זה ארוך אבל ממליץ לקרוא על מנת להבין למה לצפות שלושה שבועות לפני ההגעה שלחתי הודעה דרך בוקינג עם בקשה לקבל את החדר שהיה לנו בשנה שעברה, לא התקבל מענה, שלחתי שוב ושוב לא היה מענה, בפעם השלישית שלחתי מייל מסודר דרך אתר הבית של המלון - שום מענה. שבוע לפני ההגעה צלצלתי, ענתv לי מישהו הסברתי את הבקשה, הבטיחה לדאוג לנו. הגענו למלון ב 6:30 בבוקר על מנת להשאיר מזוודות ולהמתין לקבלת החדר, שוב ודאי במקום שיש לנו את החדר המבוקש - התשובה כן! אגב, עניין החדר לא היה הבעיה היחידה, תכף .. חזרנו ב 15:30 לקבל את החדר ומכאן החל רצף התקלות והבעיות- קיבלנו חדר אחר, בלית ביררה לקחנו אותו חשוב להבין שעניין החדרים הוא רק העדפה לקומה נמוכה (אישתי מעדיפה ללא מעלית) הבטיחו למחר לתת לנו את החדר הנכון בשל המעבר הצפוי ללא פרקנו מזוודות, למחרת חזרנו ב 15:20 היום על מנת לעביר את החדר שהובטח כמובן עד 15:00, לא היה מכון אלא רק לאחר המתנה של כשעה נוספת. מהיום השלישי (מתוך 8) לא קיבלנו שפורפרות סבון לאמבטיה - עד כמה שזה מוזר הם טענו שנגמר מהיום הרביעי, לא קיבלנו קפסולות קפה עבור המכונה שבחדר - עד כמה שזה מוזר הם טענו שגם זה נגמר להם יומיים מתוך השהות שכחו להחליף מגבות, כלומר לקחו את המשומשות ולא שמו חדשות כל העניין המצטבר הזה היה מעוד לא נעים ועצרתי לדבר עם ג׳ון, אחד המנהלים אשר הביעה הבנה והסכים שזה מוגזם, לא ביקשתי פיצוי אבל הוא מיוזמתו הציע לי החזר של כ 51 דולר על כל יום שהייה שלנו - 8 ימים. הסכמתי, עד היום כשבועיים לאחר הצ׳ק איווט לא קיבלתי שום החזר. שלחתי הודעה דרך בעניין ובאופן ולא קיבלתי מענה פניתי לשירות הלקוחות של בוקינג, הם פנו למלון שהציעה פיצוי של 150 דולר, סירבתי ואני ממתין לפיצוי המלא כפי שהובטח שם ע״י מנהל המשמרת. אז לצערי במקום לתת ציון 10 כפי שהאמנתי שיהיה, זכינו ליחס לא טוב בלשון המעטה ובנדיבות נתתי 6 מזל שיש עוד מלונות טובים במנהטן. כשאני חושב על זה, אולי לכאורה הדברים נעשו במכוון אחרת אין הסבר לרצף התקלות ובעיות השירות אשר מלון שמתיימר להיות ברמה גבוהה ובמחיר כזה, ביצע במהלך שהות של לרוח חוזר.

- Dan Moshe (6/5): ציפינו להרבה יותר ובטח לא לשירות כזה - בשנה שעברה בדהייה של 5 לילות נתנו ציון 9 ולכן חזרנו אליו שוב, הפעם ל 7 לילות והייתי בטוח שאתן ציון 10 השנה. אבל רשימה ארוכה מידי של בעיות גרמה לנו לאכזבה גדולה. מספר שבועות לפני ההגעה שלחתי 2 הודעות דרך בוקינג שלא זכו למענה ולאחר מכן שלחתי מייל שגם לא זכה למענה אז צלצלתי וכל זה בשביל לבקש את חדר בקומה נמוכה. בטלפון נאמר שנקבל. הגענו ב 6:30 להשאיר מזוודות עד צ׳ק אין, וידאתי שוב וגם החדר מחכה לנו. ב 15:00 כשהגענו גילנו שהו לא! למחרת העבירו אותנו, חזרנו לקראת 16:00 והחדר לא היה מוכן למעבר. בהמשך נגמרו להם שפורפרות הסבון לאמבטיה אז לא שמו (מוזר #1) במקביל נגמרו להם הקפסולות למכונת הקפה, אז לא היה קפה בחדר (מוזר #2) ואז הגיע חיוב שגוי שכל שניסו להסביר לי לא הבנתי על מה ולמה הוא ואז הובטח לי החזר קל של כ 51 דולר לכל יום שהייה, תוך 3-5 ימי עסקים, עדיין לא קרה. אני לא נוהג לתת ביקורות לא טובות. אם טוב אני שמח לתת ביקורת טובה, אם רע אני מתקדם ולא מתעסק עם זה אבל כזו שהות לא נעימה במלון כזה יקר שאמור להיות איכותי (כפי שהכרנו אותו בפעם הראשונה) לא יכולה לעבור ככה לסדר היום. מצפה לקבל את ההחזר שלי ובהמשך נראה, יש מלונות נוספים באזור

The staff were friendly and helpful, if we needed anything. We liked the hotel location a lot in downtown Manhattan - being close to many attractions, bars, restaurants and shops. Also only about a 10 minute walk to Brooklyn Bridge from the hotel which was great and the Chambers Street Subway is just steps away.

What surprised us was the room… or lack thereof. We reserved a deluxe queen with a terrace. It was so small. Just enough room to walk into the room and around the bed. One small wardrobe and a small vanity sink in bathroom. Nothing decorative in room (nothing on walls). The bath itself was a decent size. Simple mini bar in the wardrobe. For the price, we were looking for a bit more space and were very shocked compared to other places we have stayed in the city.

The rooms are honestly a good size for New York and the bathrooms are great. The beds are always big, comfy and the AC actually works. There’s been a few changes here recently, new management seems to have taken over so maybe they’ll update some things but I hope they don’t change too much. The employees are usually friendly and helpful. My only issue here is the prices in the restaurant and bar. Over the top and unnecessary. Other than that I love The Smyth
