- Gillian (3/5): This was my third stay but I won’t be back. - Location is great. Attitude of the staff. My passport disappeared and there was zero empathy or concern shown. The opposite in fact. Despite booking another night due to circumstances, I was unable to access room at 220pm to search bag. Was told to go through it in the bar. Broken blind in room meant an already dark room was dim and miserable. Broken lamp. Broken hair dryer. Feels like the place is getting a bit tired which is a shame as the location is excellent.

Freddy and his crew at check-in were very welcoming, as were the luggage storage and security staff, who found my favorite water flask and held it for me. My room had good amenities and loved the Smeg fridge filled with goodies!

We love the « crunchy » vibe in the rooms, and eco friendly amenities ! The lobby is always very crowded…and sometimes difficult to just fine a seat! I heard that people come in off the street, grab a coffee and spend hrs on their laptops, thus making it difficult for ppl actually staying there to find space. It’s also hard to find ice at night. We traveled from the 7th floor to the 11th… and luckily got it at the bar as it was closing.

- Emma (7/5): Ok not great - Location is good and staff very welcoming and friendly on arrival. The medium king room was a good size for manhattan and surprisingly quiet for the central location of the hotel. Water was off to the entire hotel for 10hrs with little notice, no compensation , no bottled water provided. The fire alarm went off at 2.30am one night. After departure I was charged a charity donation I never agreed to.

When we finally got in there was another couple already in our room as they had double booked it. They didn’t offer to clean our room again and accused us of being dramatic. Horrible experience and we will never book with this hotel again.
- Farah (6/5): Not the kindest reception, watch out for double deposit - The hotel is in a fantastic location and the cleaning staff are super kind and very thorough. I booked three nights with one website, and it stated on that website that I would have to pay a 200 dollar deposit upon arrival. I paid this deposit, and then extended my stay via a different website. I had spoken to reception about this before doing it, and after doing it, to make sure everything would go smoothly and that I could keep the same room. On the day of extension, I couldn't get into my room with my keycard. Went to reception and they said that I would have to pay another deposit. I told them I was confused because they already had my deposit. They said that the first deposit would be reimbursed (but that would take a few business days), and they now needed a new one. I genuinely panicked, because I didn't have that much money on my card and because of time difference I couldn't contact anyone at home by this time. I asked them what would happen if I couldn't pay the second deposit and they said they'd have to ask me to leave the premises. I've travelled a fair share in my life, but this was the first time a hotel threatened to put me on the streets despite already having paid for the stay and already having paid a deposit. It was 9 or 10 pm and I worried I'd end up wandering the streets with my suitcase, looking for acommodation. I have an auto-immune disease. It was not ideal. I offered to hand over my passport as a deposit, but they said that wouldn't be possible. In the end I luckily had 150 dollars on one card and could have added the other 50 from my other card, but they were kind enough to say 150 was enough.

I enjoyed the whole experience and would always come back to stay when I return to New Yor - Great location, very nice ambiance, great staff who do their best to accommodate, make guest comfortable and be at ease. Enjoyed the breakfast bar. I found the room rather dark even with lights on. It would be good to have extra light that could be put on if guest finds it too dark. More clothes hanging facility. Not enough hangers. No draws for clothes, hence I had to live from suitcase.
- W2158UVashleyd (2/5): Never again. - I have stayed at the Ace in multiple locations and typically have a wonderful experience. This past week was an exception after I stayed in NoMad for a few nights. When I booked the room, I stated and paid extra for my pet, as I have done many times with the Ace. After four nights, on my very last evening, I stopped in to change for dinner with friends. I was informed that my last night had been cancelled because I had brought with me a cat, which was no longer allowed. When I checked in, having paid to bring my cat, the concierge commented on how cute my cat was, going so far as to pet him, and I ordered Instacart supplies to their desk for my cat. The man at the front desk was extremely rude to me, acting as though I was trying to slip something past them, when it was in fact their staff that welcomed us. I was shocked at his behavior after having spent thousands this trip alone, and after being completely transparent. I was locked out of my room where was cat was staying, I was told I had a limited amount of time to get my things, escorted by security who made me prove that it was my room, at which point I said, “Well, I have a cat…” and I was ultimately treated very poorly, inconvenienced with no consideration, and expected to find a new place late at night and setting us up somewhere new and getting my cat a new box ordered, etc. I was given no notice, no one called or sent an email, and no exceptions were made, though they allegedly were still fine with dogs. This will be my last stay at the Ace unfortunately, due to a complete lack of organization, clarity, and professionalism from the representative staff.

Horrible shower curtains mean the bathroom flooded with every shower, and the bedroom was badly lit and awkwardly laid out. Staff are terse and rather u friendly, too. Best thing about this llace isnits location.

He truly went above and beyond to help us resolve an issue with our room, and thanks to him we were able to enjoy our vacation feeling comfortable and well taken care of. It made a real difference to feel that someone sincerely cared about our experience. We’re very grateful.
- liamablair (6/5): Budget Friendly but Tired Hotel - For context, we only arranged this trip a month in advance. We paid around £400 for 2 nights at the Ace Hotel in NY. One of the cheapest options on Hotels.com. Simply, we got what we paid for. Rooms were tired and could see were well used. We stayed in a king room on the 5th floor which had a large desk, Smeg fridge, record player and flat screen TV. Bathroom was again tired looking but functional. One thing I will say is that all staff were not only friendly but really helpful. Really great to deal with. Lobby bar and lounge was a great place to chill out before our flight home. Location is bang on and only a block away from 29th St subway station which goes uptown and downtown within 15 mins.

Apesar de que tudo correu muito bem para mim o quarto me parecia um pouco escuro e o sistema de ar era um tanto barulhento. Havia uma janela no banheiro que poderia se melhor fechada e deixava o quarto um pouco frio. Para esta época do ano não é um problema mais poderia ser em algum mês mais frio.

And without windows is very difficult to refresh the room and have fresh air after a shower. The thin walls makes it difficult to sleep due to the noise of the neighbors
- Laura (7/5): The location served our purpose - It’s location Needs a refresh. When having a party in the open bar area, guests should be informed. There was no where for a quiet drink at the hotel. On the occasion that we did have a drink at the bar the Pinot Noir was undrinkable. Clearly the bottle had been opened and left for several days or it was a very bad bottle. The TV in our room did not work and the hotel has a problem with its WiFi.

- Muriël (7/5): Midden in New York - Locatie is top. Kamers zijn leuk en creatief ingericht. Goed bed. De dagelijkse schoonmaak was heel attent. Even aangeven met het bordje Now/Not now. Het regelen van de temperatuur in de kamer was moeilijk. De airco werkte niet zo goed. Het raam kon eerst niet goed open en daar kwam ook niemand voor, na herhaaldelijk vragen. We hebben zelf een schroevendraaier gekocht om het raam op een kier te kunnen zetten. Er was eerst geen prijslijst van de minibar, waardoor wij er pas na een paar dagen achterkwamen dat het gratis lijkende water 9 dollar kostte voor 500ml. Gauw water bij Whole Foods gehaald. De muziek in de lobby is heel luid. Niet zo relaxed zitten daar. Gelukkig hoor je het boven niet.

- Stephanie (4/5): Good location, bad staff - Lobby is nice and location is great The staff and our room, the staff was not helpful at all, I told them our room had no internet the whole stay, told them atleast twice, and our tv wasn’t working at all either. All they told me was to turn it off and back on, trust me I did that several times during our stay, never worked, told them that and they just shrugged. Our bathroom shower also filled up every time we took a shower, beds also dipped in the middle, and we found a bandaid on the floor on our first day. I tried this hotel as a second time and I’m just not sure. I really had a terrible time this time around. I was rooting for it to be my go to hotel. I go to NYC yearly, so I need a hotel to go to that won’t fail me. Oh! And I ordered room service and they wanted to charge me twice to close the tab, and then I waited an hour to get my food, they call me and the same guy who shrugged passed the phone to someone who barely spoke English (that’s not a problem but I feel like he struggled to tell me something idk what the problem was, he eventually said he’d take the food up to my room) I feel like the front desk people just didn’t want to work?? If you know your team mate doesn’t speak English well, and you pass the phone to him, why not first communicate what is needed before passing it over to a guest? Eventually I got my food. Flatbread was cold.
- Karan772015 (8/5): Overall pretty good! - Top quality service, awesome location but a few bits that let it down. Ace hotel is very cool, the lobby is always buzzing and the service is really good, the guys at reception are amazing. For the price it's really good value in NYC but what I would say is that what made it cool (decor) in the rooms has become a bit worn and dated. Also just some small things for example, I went down at 6:30am and was told the restaurant for breakfast opens in an hour, went in and there was nobody there and the lobby had to point me to another restaurant next door. Other than that, it's been a good experience and I would go back.

- Melike (10/5): - The location is amazing and very close to subways, main touristic sites. There is a lovely bar under the hotel. Some mornings it is a bit noisy. We booked the hotel knowing it was centrally located, so we knew this would happen. Still, it wasn't a big problem.

- ABEL (1/5): CHAMBRE NON FONCTIONNELLE ET HOTEL VETUSTE/ ATTENTION PRELEVEMENT DE FRAIS EN SUS SANS PREVENIR - SEUL POINT POSITIF : POSITION GEOGRAPHIQUE CENTRALE CHAMBRES TRES MAL INSONORISEES/AUCUNE ISOLATION ENTRE LES MURS DU COULOIR ET LES CHAMBRES COTE A COTE/on entend tous les bruits du couloir / on a l'impression d'être dans la salle de bain de ses voisins / Nous avons passé une très mauvaise nuit en arrivant tard le soir et en étant réveillés à 4h30 du matin par les clients de la chambre d'à coté qui prenaient une douche. Pendant 10 minutes l'eau a coulé à fond dans les tuyaux comme si les robinets étaient dans notre chambre. CHAMBRE ET SALLE DE BAIN TRES PETITES ET NON FONCTIONNELLES/pas de placard, aucune place pour les valises, manque d'éclairage/accessoires de salle de bain et robinetterie vieillissants et à refixer et à changer TRES MAUVAIS SERVICE DE RECEPTION/Demande de serviettes supplémentaires plusieurs fois qui n'a jamais été prise en compte. Nous attendons toujours ce service. Nous avons demandé le matin du départ si nous pouvions partir un peu après 12H00. Demande qui nous a été confirmée. TRES MAUVAISE SURPRISE au moment de remettre la clé de chambre, on nous a prélevé de 75 dollars. Sans autre explication, c'est comme cela qu'ils pratiquent. ICI LES CLIENTS N'ONT QU 'A PAYER, SE TAIRE et PARTIR AU PLUS VITE.

- 429hatties (10/5): 10-star hospitality - I can’t say enough good things about Ace Hotel New York—it’s truly become my hotel every time I visit NYC. I’ve been booking here consistently for the past 5 years, and it never disappoints. On a recent stay, everything once again exceeded expectations. The rooms are amazing—clean, thoughtfully designed, with great views and those signature artful, architectural touches that make the space feel elevated without being overdone. A huge thank you to Freddy, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and welcoming. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating with our room, and his recommendation for where to catch a Knicks game nearby was spot-on and very appreciated. What keeps me coming back, beyond the hotel itself, is the overall experience. The staff is consistently warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The location is also perfect—surrounded by fantastic local spots for bagels, coffee, and juice that make mornings in the city feel effortless. It’s rare to find a hotel that delivers this consistently, but The Ace absolutely does. Already looking forward to the next stay.

- Kate (8/5): Overall a great hotel - The location is fabulous - everything is close downtown or uptown. The staff is very responsive, but not always what the guests experience. The room, while extremely small, was truly a cozy king! The hotel is lacking air conditioning, the rooms are very small ( you need to mention this in the commentary) - no closets, no drawers, so essentially it is ideal for a one / two-night stay.
- Marshall Paul (7/5): I enjoyed the vibe of the hotel and overall was ok, but think could have had better value elsewhere. - The location was great and the vibe in the hotel suited me very well. I thought the music in the lobby was too loud, you’d to shout to order drinks. During check in they didn’t confirm whether I had breakfast included which became apparent next morning when I had to go to reception to claim a voucher for this.

- Tran Hoang Anh (7/5): Excellent location, comfortable room and cozy atmosphere. - Ace hotel is located in a really good location, walking distance to multiple subway stops and Penn station, along with Times Square. There are many business attached that make late night entertainment very easy. Friendly staff and very responsive. Room was clean and as expected Room had strange smell at time, probably due to being stuffy. Window cannot be opened too wide to let fresh air in.

- Salomé (7/5): Pratique mais un peu cher pour la qualité de la chambre - L'emplacement, en plein centre de New York et à proximité du metro. Chambre très propre et bon accueil du personnel. La chambre est vraiment très petite, aucun rangement. Le lit est petit et la literie n'est pas très bonne.

Nos alojamos en una habitación de cama grande, muy espacioso y con una decoración y detalles agradables. El baño amplio, funcional. Tiene la mezcla perfecta entre lo antiguo y lo moderno. Tienen buenos productos de higiene (shampoo, gel de ducha, etc.) y la verdad es que tuvimos una estancia muy buena.

When I complained that the room was completely different from what I had booked, they agreed to move me to a room in the building I had originally reserved. The hallways were carpeted, which made it very inconvenient to move a trolley, especially a heavy one. The room was dark, and most of the walls were black. The shower was unpleasant to use. The lobby was also dark. The staff were not pleasant. I paid in advance for three nights, but I left after just 12 hours. really do not recommend this hotel.
