• GeoffandPamOldBar (8/5): A comfortable stay in a great location - This is a very nice hotel but it could be an excellent one. It is in a great location near the main station with several restaurants nearby. The breakfast provided is substantial and is served in a lovely breakfast room which doubles as a bar in the evening. Staff are attentive and friendly. Rooms are a good size (for Italy) and nicely furnished. Towels are large and soft. A few small things would make it even better. The internet in the guest rooms is poor (better in lobby) and pillows are flat and hard. Our room (105) had some plumbing issues: the water from the fixed shower head was scalding and could not be adjusted although there was also a flexible hand held one that sufficed; there was also the sound of water running constantly although it was not emanating from our bathroom.

• James (10/5): Great hotel for touring Milan - Beautiful hotel conveniently situated just across from Milano Centrale station. V eyr clean, helpful and friendly staff who all spoke good english. We did have an issue where the shower head was broken, reported to reception and was fixed and working within 5 minutes. Breakfast was a nice mixture of warm scrambled eggs and bacon, plus breads, pastries and fruit. Hot lovely coffee on tap too. Made our stay in Milan that bit better, thank you

• 559alesandrab (2/5): Horrible beyond expectations - Not a SAFE STAY - I am writing to express my utmost concern and disappointment regarding my recent stay at the Auriga Hotel in Milan on the 7th and 8th of December. As someone who works in the hospitality industry in London, I understand the challenges that teams face in running a hotel. For this reason, I rarely write negative reviews. However, the experience I had at your hotel was deeply distressing, both in terms of service and—most importantly—personal safety, and I feel compelled to address this matter further with relevant Italian authorities. The incident occurred when my colleague and I were preparing for a business dinner. My colleague had brought a travel mini iron, and I plugged it in to quickly press my jacket. Unfortunately, the plug disconnected and became stuck, and I feared it would be dangerous to remove it myself. Seeking assistance, I approached reception. To my shock, the Duty Manager was extremely rude, unprofessional, and aggressive. He began yelling at me for using the iron without permission, threatened to charge me upon check-out, and created an unnecessarily hostile environment. I remained calm, but his behavior was unacceptable for someone in a guest-facing role. He then called a maintenance worker to assist. Here is where the situation became truly alarming. I took the lift with the maintenance person, who appeared to be in severe distress—sweating, shaking, and visibly struggling to breathe. It was evident he had health issues, and I felt deeply concerned that he was required to work under such conditions. When we entered my room, with my colleague present, the situation escalated. The maintenance worker began shouting and yelling aggressively in Italian, punching the wall near the plug. Although I could not understand his words, his tone and actions were deeply threatening. After unplugging the iron, he informed me that the only option to iron my jacket was to go to the basement laundry room, as the hotel does not provide irons in the rooms. This felt more like a punishment than a solution. Reluctantly, I had no choice but to go to the basement. I was left alone in an isolated laundry room, two floors below ground level, with no signal and in the company of someone whose behavior was unpredictable and unstable. I cannot emphasize enough how frightened and unsafe I felt at that moment. My mind raced with worst-case scenarios—what if he lashed out again, and I had no way to escape? That night, I could not sleep, as I genuinely feared for my safety. I worried that the individual, still angry, might try to enter my room. This experience left me feeling harassed, vulnerable, and deeply distressed. As someone who takes responsibility for others' safety and well-being in my professional role as HR, I cannot let this situation go unaddressed. I have reported this incident to the relevant authorities for investigation, as I would not forgive myself if something similar happened to another guest. I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to be cautious. While the location may be convenient, the service, professionalism, and—most importantly—guest safety standards are severely lacking. I cannot and will not recommend this hotel to anyone. This experience was not just a poor reflection of hospitality but also a serious matter of guest security and staff well-being. I trust that immediate measures will be taken to investigate and address the issues raised.

The hotel was clean, room was big. The bathroom had some kind of dial on the wall in the shower/bath that we could not work out what it was for!! The staff were friendly. Could not use the breakfast as we checked too early. Great place to stay if you are looking for accommodation close to the train station.

• 199maryannb (8/5): A pleasant stay - I selected this hotel because of its close proximity to Milano Centrale train station. From the photos, I liked the interior decor, the spaciousness of the rooms, and it did not disappoint in that respect. However, after exiting the Milano Centrale train station, it took an hour walking in the heat with suitcases to find this place. The hotel did not answer the phone and we were getting mixed directions. So to make it clear: you need to exit from the center of the train station - not from the left or the right side. Then you walk straight, cross over two streets bearing to the right. Hotel check-in was easy, the gentleman spoke English, but we were not warmly welcomed. Elevator small, but accommodated 2 people with large suitcases. Room was clean and had the old fashioned luxury feel that I liked. The bathroom was spacious with marble throughout and a separate tub from the shower. I just used the shower and noticed black mold. That's an easy fix with spray bleach, so no excuse for that. We stayed at this property for 2 nights. The included breakfast starts at 7am and was very good with bacon, eggs, breads, cakes, etc. and deliciously fresh cappuccino. We were also thankful that they accommodated us with a take-out continental breakfast the day of our check out at 6am.

• jesty12 (4/5): Poor Reception Experience for Tourist - Our experience as a tourist in Mikan with this first hotel that we tried could’ve been better if on the check-out date we did not encounter the most rude receptionist I have ever encountered in my life. We had some questions on the checkout due to some glitch we had experience in our selected booking portal and we wanted to check things so we can be sure that we were not been charged twice. He wasn’t helpful at all. In fact he wanted us to know how long he has been working in that hotel and he would exactly know that he is right. I checked with other staff about his name and it was given the name Janpolo Torrene. Not sure on the spelling. The location of the hotel is good. However, having staffs like him is a total lost and leave a bad impression for a tourist’s experience.

• Sheryl (8/5): Excellently Located Heritage Hotel - Very conveniently located hotel in a heritage building a few minutes walk from Milano Centrale station. Our room had a comfortable king bed, desk & wardrobe space, a safe, a mini fridge and a shower over a deep bath. Staff were welcoming (but some more hotel & local info offered at checkin would have been appreciated) and daily room service thorough. There were plenty of breakfast options, including GF, with eggs cooked to order and coffee made to order. There is also a great cafe on the nearby corner with multiple coffe options, juices, sweet and savoury filled pastries and breads The neighbourhood offers many dining options and a casual dining option is the Mercarto Centrale Milano with a wide variety of offerings. As a heritage hotel, the Auriga may not offer all the elements of a more contemporary building but this is part of its charm and the location is hard to beat if you're travelling by train.

• 234_pos (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend, you can find something way better - When we arrived the person at the drag wasn’t too friendly and in fact a bit rude. The breakfast is very disappointing and again the staff was looking down at us. The shower is a nightmare and it’s impossible to avoid getting the floor wet and everything else. Then the temperature is incredibly high when you arrive and we had to turn it off because we couldn’t change it to a normal winter room temperature.

• Kevin (8/5): Near the station - The hotel room we had matched the photos provided by Hotels.com. We found the room and bathroom scrupulously clean and the facilities suitable. The breakfast and reception staff were efficient and helpful. The breakfast buffet was adequate. We do think the hotel is a little "tired" and in need of updating, but as said, it was exactly as we expected. We did notice that soundproofing could be an issue between rooms. The location was excellent for us as we used the subway and central train station each day.
• 639kathyc (6/5): Decent stay - The hotel is close to train station. The lobby has old world charm. There are a few restaurants close by. And the Duomo di Milan is only four or five stops away on the metro. Unfortunately, the hotel rooms need serious updating, especially the bathroom. The shower head is located on the side of the tub, which had your face and body practically up against the wall while showering. Breakfast is available, but with limited choices. And the gentleman behind the desk in the evenings ran hot and cold. Friendly and helpful when we checked in, but surly and silent the days after, as in no greeting or acknowledgment. The day gentleman had a much nicer demeanor. We were only there for a couple of days, so the hotel’s shortcomings were easy to overlook.

• Verified traveler (8/5): October 2023 - The welcome and service at breakfast was poor. The continental breakfast choice for a 4* hotel was also very poor. On the positive side the hotel is in a good location for the railway station. The main tourist sites are 30-45 minutes leisurely walk
• simonfredericko (2/5): Overpriced, shabby and disheveled - I have based my score on a simple cost/quality ratio. I really feel ripped off for the amount paid. The hotel is shabby and rundown. The desk staff were friendly enough but at no point did the disheveled porter offer to help with my (heavy) baggage. The bathroom fittings were barely fit for purpose. Windows did not have nets despite Milan being infested by mosquitoes. Given the lack of working AC or ventilation in the room I kept the window open and woke during the night covered in bites. To top it I was woken in the morning by hammering workmen in the room adjacent to mine.
• Richard (6/5): - Noise is an issue at this hotel. I could only sleep in spurts because of hearing water hammering every time someone flushed the toilet or took a shower. Additionally noises from the train station were excessively louder than should be. The vent in the shower had layers of dust on it and obviously doesn’t get cleaned.

• Bridget_Guernsey (10/5): Lovely hotel right by Milan Central - This wonderful hotel is right by Milan Central Station, (2 min walk once you know you are going). The reception staff were very helpful. The best bit however was the room - it was huge with elegant, olde world decor that felt genuinely rather opulent. The bed was HUGE!! The bathroom was spacious and included a bath as well as a separate shower. As others have mentioned, UK/Europe adapters don’t work in the electric sockets so you do need to go down to reception to get an additional adapter, but this is not a big deal. It might be helpful to mention it to guests when they check in however. Breakfast was ok - they do provide a basket of gluten free buns and crackers for coeliacs like me which was helpful. The spread was pretty limited but adequate enough. The trade off for staying so close to the station is that it is a fair old hike to the main tourist attractions, about a 4 km walk. However a taxi ride organised by reception was only about 10 Euros each way.
• Yusleydi (8/5): - Well kept and clean! Great water pressure, good working AC, and within walkable distance to Milano Centrale… we enjoyed our one night stay!
• Amber (6/5): - Staff are friendly. Rooms are large but a little dated. Wifi is slow and not always reliable. Convenient location if travelling by train and metro. Walkable into city centre. Room cleanliness could do with being better. Plug sockets mostly only took the thin pin adapters. Only had one socket that took the thicker pin style.
• carolp718 (10/5): MIlan - A beautiful hotel! We were traveling with our grandson and were able to get connecting rooms, which was nice. The staff was wonderful, the hotel clean and beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was quite nice and the bar in the evenings was enjoyable! The location is perfect if you are taking the train! We were able to walk to the station!
• Verified traveler (10/5): One night in Milan - Perfect location as we were travelling by train. Easily walkable to Duomo Milano, which was stunning. Hotel was clean, large room with nice view too.Plenty of places to eat nearby. We are at the pizzeria Michelle close by which was super.

Advice unrelated to the hotel: use the subway from the central station to get around Milano (the Duomo is quite a hike)....and.... absolutely check the Google rating of any restaurant in the area before you sit down (there's a place off to the right as you face the station walking from the hotel across the open expanse of roadway in front of the station that is notorious for being a rip-off)

• Gemma (8/5): - Great location, a few minutes walk from Milan Centrale Station. We had 2 interconnecting rooms which were spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast with lots of choice. Starting to look a bit dated but it's not really an issue.
• Wendy (10/5): - Thé décor has a classy European feel while being conveniently functional for travellers. The location is spectacularly close to the central terminal for metro, buses and high speed train. This also means it’s easy to hop onto the airport shuttle. Very good property.

It would have been a better experience if the breakfast choices and variety was improved, the food in Auriga did not reflect the Italian taste that we had when compared to the nearby hotels we stayed at…
• Julie (10/5): - Huge room very nice decor and excellent staff. Only thing that we couldn’t figure out was tv…. Only got BBC. Careful in shower… skinny tub makes standing with you eyes closed washing hair a bit dangerous. AC was set at 15 but never got that cold. I would prefer to have a coffee/tea maker in room but great cafe next door and cheap!
