Breakfast was excellent with delicious choices to start the day and always a courteous, happy pair of staff in attendance to help if needed. Our room was a delight. We are so pleased we booked room 31, giving us a wonderful view. The bed was so very comfortable and the walk-in shower incredible and so welcome after a long day sightseeing. This hotel is charming for a stay in Florence.

They have free ice cream which we made use of a few times! Also cold or sparkling water to fill out water bottles. The staff are great. Note there is only one lift to get to the 4th floor, however you can use the stairs if you are up to it.
- mediumchris (10/5): Great Hotel with a Stunning Location - We stayed at the hotel for four nights during our holiday in Florence and it's hard to imagine a better location or a more charming hotel. From a location point of view, you are literally next to the Duomo - if you go out the front door and walk forward 50 feet you'll run into the walls of the cathedral. The location is simply the best - nothing we wanted to see in town was more than a 15 minute walk from the front door. Whether you want to see Ponte Vecchio or the Uffizi or any of the other museums, it's all under 15 minutes away. Additionally, the range of restaurant options is stunningly huge - you can find anything you want from a standard tourist trap to a hidden Florentine gem, it's all close. The rooms are very nicely sized for European rooms and the staff is fantastic at both the front desk and at the breakfast nook. Don't skip on the breakfast option, the coffee is delightful. If this all hasn't put your interest level over the top, did I mention that they have free gelato on the main floor? The cooler is available for guests all day and there are 4-5 options so just scopp your preference and have a little dessert out on the patio. This hotel is a definite winner if you're in FLorence so don't delay, book your room.

- aristop2024 (10/5): Fun couple of days in Florence - Had a great few days at Hotel Duomo when my girlfriend and I visited back in late July. The location is unbeatable, as it is, as the name suggests, right next to the Florence Duomo. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Florence train station which is pretty good but getting into the actual hotel is quite interesting, as you have to take a really old looking elevator that upon first view can seem to be a little sketchy. The room itself was neat and clean, and has a great view of the Duomo. While it is located in the middle of the action, I can honestly say that we hardly heard any street noise which was good. I also thought the breakfast was very nice, as there is an option to sit on an outdoor terrace that's literally right next to the Duomo which is great. Overall, you get great value for your money!

Couldn't have a better view, people watching, etc. When the windows were closed, and black out curtains in use there was no noise from the church, the crowds or light coming in. We did have to walk one flight of stairs down from lobby (on 4th floor), so keep that in mind if there are mobility issues. We would choose again!

We didn't expect it to be as noisy as it was though. Italians stay up later than we were expecting, and we could hear them on the street. The breakfast and gelato were excellent! They had wine available at breakfast. Wonderful attentive staff. The breakfast attendant was so kind, and he really tried to make our stay memorable. We asked for a Duomo view room and we got it. But you might want to consider an inside room due to the noise. Small elevator as well. Comfortable basic room. Friendly efficient staff that were very attentive. We would stay here again but might request an inside room, but I might also just take a sleep machine or play background noise from my phone. The noise didn't bother us the second day because we were exhausted! :-)

- 78jarretm (10/5): Great hotel in an amazing location - This is a wonderful hotel perfectly situated directly next to the Duomo. You cannot be any closer to it. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly at the hotel. I definitely recommend getting one of the rooms with a balcony. It is very nice to be able to sit there and admire the view away from the crowds down below. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and quiet. It even offers free gelato, which was a very pleasant surprise! I highly recommend it and hope to stay there again sometime in the future.

My issue is the type of room we were given, we asked if we could be changed twice to another room as price was not an issue for us. We were turned away. We were unable to open our suitcases as we had minimal room to walk around the beds. We called the front desk to help us and they could not. I came up with the idea of placing the 2 twins diagonally. So it was then we were able to open up our suitcases. The blow dryer was broken, air conditioning did not work until one person figured out what to do and asked us to keep the window closed. We complied. The only highlights were the Brazilian ladies at the front desk, and our breakfast chef. They def did take care of us.

- katec109 (10/5): Marvel at the Duomo from the window in the room - This hotel is literally across from the Duomo. It's modern with (well appreciated) air conditioning and included breakfast. We didn't hear noise from the street or plaza below. The room was decent size with a safe and had plenty of hot water for showers. The breakfast was a buffet inside but had a small balcony if you prefer to eat there. All day they had water and coffee available. There are plenty of restaurants around but I suggest you skip the tourist ones along the plaza.I do suggest you buy your tickets ahead of time-the the church is free to enter but always had a massive line. There isn't much in the church but the baptistery and dome are stunning. If you opt for the excavations below the church in your ticket you exit into the church to exit without waiting in that line. The museums/sights are all within walking distance as you're basically in the middle of everything. The staff was helpful and friendly and hotel very quiet.

From the reservations, all through our stay and our departure, the staff of this hotel was so efficient yet very helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic and accessible but what impressed us the most was the hospitality afforded to us by all the hotel personnel. They truly cared for the welfare of their guests and did everything to make our stay a memorable one. This hotel is indeed a gem in Florence! And their offer of home made gelato just put the icing on an already great stay. Highly recommend this hotel and I will be referring friends and colleagues to stay here!!

However we booked room 40 specifically for the view but once we arrived we realized the side of the duomo our room faced was under construction. And while the tarps match the design of the building, we probably wouldn’t have paid extra for the deluxe room if we’d known the view wouldn’t be the view advertised on the website.

They had snacks, coffee, water, and GELATO in the lobby at all times available. A beautiful terrace to enjoy the view of the Duomo in the evenings without the crowds! The staff held your room key so no fear of losing it out and about. They kept bags if needed. This was our favorite hotel experience in all the 4 places we stayed in Italy!

- 730nadinec (8/5): Love love this place! - We loved our stay at Hotel Duomo. It was a short walk from the train station which was easy enough with our luggage in tow. We had a partial duomo view balcony room. It was nice to have an outside space for a quick lunch half way through exploring or a glass of wine in the evening and lovely to see the duomo poking round the corner. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. I had a bad mosquito bite from our trip to Milan previously which I had an allergic reaction to and staff got me bags of ice fairly regularly to help with the swelling. Our room in this hotel came with a mosquito repellent machine to put on when you are relaxing/ sleeping. I recommend using it. The hotel was very central and we were exploring in 40 degree heat in August, so the location was handy; after a morning explore, we would shelter for a few hours in the air conditioned room and have a bite to eat on the balcony. Then we would go back out after. The bar balcony in this hotel has an incredible view of the duomo! I imagine this is the same for the full duomo view rooms. If you can book one of those - do! It’ll be worth the up-charge. Our room had a mini bar and it was very reasonably priced. It had a big, comfortable bed and an adequate little bathroom with good shower. We fell in love with Florence on our visit and I would love to return outside of the summer months. If we do, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. Oooh they also have a little hotel mascot- a chihuahua named Leone. He was so cute and friendly and loved his little lion bed!

We stayed in a room with a balcony next to the Duomo and felt we could almost reach out and touch it. The breakfast had lots of choice, mini pancake maker, pastries, yogurt, cereal, hot food, cold meats, cheese and fruit, all of good quality. We enjoyed the hotel self service ice cream for guests. The rooms were small but nicely decorated, perfectly adequate for our needs and very clean. The staff very friendly and helpful. A perfect base for exploring Florence. I highly recommend and hope to return. Thank you Hotel Duomo.

The room was very small, outdated, and had an unpleasant odor every time I walked in. The view was underwhelming, and overall, the experience didn’t feel like good value for the price. On a positive note, the location is excellent — everything is within walking distance, which was convenient. The staff were also friendly and professional throughout my stay. However, safety was a concern. I had early morning tours, and when I left around 6 AM, there was a person sleeping at the entrance of the hotel. It made me feel uneasy and detracted from the experience. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. While the location is great, it just wasn’t worth the cost or discomfort.

(Just guard your food from the pigeons though) - room while not huge is functional, clean and tidy. - some people mentioned about noise. Yes, I noticed it a little, on a Friday night. But it was not particularly loud. I’m a fairly light sleeper but I had no trouble ignoring it Best of all is the service! The staffs are professionals. They come up with solution for every situation! On my way back, I will be passing Firenze again. I hope I’ll get to stay there.

I decided to push the boat out and pay for a room with a balcony and view of the dome and Cathedral. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean. The house team went into our room daily and tidied up, made the bed did a quick clean of the bathroom and room. I know they did it, but we never saw them once. The team at this Hotel are extra ordinary. From top to bottom each and every person did their part to perfection. I honestly can not pick at any part of our stay and say something should have been better, or needs improving. I would absolutely without fail stay here again, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Easy to walk to from Santa Maria Novella station, it was took around 10-15 minutes with bags. The staff were lovely - friendly, professional and helpful. Our room had a fantastic view over the Duomo, and was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of it, but adding a variety of local bread would have made it excellent. Being able to access filter coffee, teas and water 24/7 was brilliant. There were also little sweet delicacies and vino santo available, which we enjoyed on the little terrace area after dinner elsewhere. There were lots of great places to eat close by, as well as cafés, bars and ice cream parlours. We weren't disturbed by the bells at all and the quirky lift was like a journey back in time, with plenty of space for two people plus 3 suitcases! We would not hesitate to stay here again. - Harris (10/5): - Well..it's a very convenient hotel, literally across the Street from the Duomo. It is very modest, but has everything you need. I could see the Doumo from my window across the street and the balcony in the restaurant area also has an amazing view of the Duomo and environs and its very pleasant to sit out there and relax. . The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is top drawer. If you want to see Florence properly by foot, this hotel is where you want to be.

The breakfast offered many different items and all we tried were delicious. The location is steps away from many restaurants and a short distance from many shops. We would stay again.
