Guest Reviews
- jadewO324YQ (2/5): DO NOT GO HERE!! It is disgusting filled with bugs and a mess - Upon arrival, the room conditions were completely unacceptable. There were bugs flying around the room and on the bed, the toilet was would not stop running and was so loud , no hot water , stains on the bed , the list goes on! Not to mention the horrible smell throughout the entire hotel. This created an unsanitary and unsafe environment. In addition, the toilet would not stop running and was making constant noise throughout the room. Upon booking, we went with this hotel due its good reviews but we were falsely advertised.
Due to these conditions, we decided not to stay at the hotel and left immediately after checking in. The room was not suitable for accommodation, and we could not reasonably remain there. The management had nothing to say and took no responsibility for anything. Do not book here!!
- Cassandra Faye (10/5): - I would definitely stay here again, even though the bed felt like I was sleeping on a box spring. It was in a great area.
- geri (6/5): - Basic , clean and nice staff
- Robert (8/5): - This one is all about location. The breakfast was okay but not fantastic. The room was small with NO COFFEE. Not many amenities but the staff was helpful and pleasant and you are steps away from the Uffizi and tons of great restaurants.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Great location! I loved my experience there. I would Definitely return.
- Terri (8/5): - Very convenient place. It was a bit noisy at night due to being close to a popular street. Not a deal breaker for us though. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was not so great.
- Zarina (6/5): - So the hotels best feature is its location right in the heart of the old town area. So the sites are walkable as are dining options.
However the breakfast offered is a mediocre continental one. My relatives bathroom flooded and I had to ask for a room change which did happen thankfully although not offered. The hotel plumbing is old and in need of repair. But it was clean and the beds are comfortable and room sizes aren't bad.overall.
- hengameh (8/5): - The hotel is very basic, but it has the essentials you need for a trip. There was a strange smell coming from the bathroom, and I had to keep the AC on all day and night because of it.
The first room I checked into was 113, but the window was broken. They moved me to room 111, which was bigger, and I appreciated that. The front desk staff were great, there was a lovely young lady and a helpful gentleman named Mahen. They were both very kind and accommodating.
One more thing to mention is the shower, the hot water only lasts about 10 minutes, so you have to be quick. Other than that, everything else was fine. I loved the location and Florence overall. Thank you.
- Al (10/5): - Spacious room, very clean, and with a good location. The staff was friendly and professional as well.
- Lidia (10/5): - Perfect accommodation.
- Anna (8/5): - The property is very centrally located if you don’t mind the lack of any kind of lobby or ambiance.
The two brightest stars of the property are Leticia at the front desk and the woman who cleans the rooms. Leticia is friendly and helpful. Every arrangement we made with her was on-time and correct. Some of the other staff went about their business without a hello or even a smile.
The young woman who cleans the rooms( didn’t get her name) was meticulous and always had a bonjourno and a smile!
If you want a clean place to lay your head and don’t plan on spending too much time in your room, this is your choice.
- Patrick (10/5): - Great location for checking out the Uffizi, Galileo Museum, and
- Lorraine (8/5): - hotel position superb easy access to city and dining options. Rooms clean and plenty of hot water in shower. Let down only by location of breakfast room which is a walk through from reception and the buffet breakfast which was very limited.
- Magda (8/5): - Don’t be put off by the appearance of the alley that leads to the entrance of this lively little hotel. It’s grimy and adorned by graffiti but once you step through the door, the hotel itself is great. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast was good. The location couldn’t be better - so central.
I would recommend having aperitivi at Rivoire - the perfect negroni - and for a substantial sandwich lunch, don’t miss All Antico Vinnaio.
- Karen (6/5): - This hotel space is a recent renovation of an old building. It was very convenient to access anything in old Florence.
The room is as spacious and the bed comfortable, however we had to request a room change as the street noise was not blocked by the window at all. We figured that insulation around the window was non-existent. Also, the doors and walls were thin and we could hear any noises in the hallway and adjacent rooms.
Our second room was more quiet, looking out over a central open area, used mainly for piping and maintenance equipment.
The bathrooms were a good size with a dimly lit shower area.
Breakfast was limited but the food was fresh (cereals, hard boiled eggs, cheese, croissants, cakes and decent coffee).
Overall, we were satisfied with the room but wished we had spent more for a stay at a higher rates property.
- Marianne (8/5): Florence hotel - Great location to the main sights and attractions in Florence. Breakfast is simple but convenient. Would recommend for sure
- David (8/5): - Wi-Fi worked, sitcom worked, plenty of hot water, lovely helpful staff, central & convenient. Basic but very clean. Basic breakfast. We would stay there again.
- GEMMA (6/5): - Asking for extra towels was like asking for money. Amenities were limited such as a kettle. I got sick and needed warm water but their machine was turned off at night and no kettle available for the room. Less storage
- Silfides (10/5): - Excellent location, very friendly, cleaning excellent. Totally recommended !!!
- Karen (8/5): - A/C excellent, BFast was fine, location very good, no external noise, elevator was fast and front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Room floor needed vacuuming and should have replaced wet wash clothes.
- Alexandra (2/5): - Do not stay here. We booked/paid for two night and ended up leaving after one night and finding another hotel. It was the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. We could barely even walk around at the same time. It is also on a very sketchy alleyway with no lights and no other businesses. There was also no cell service and the “free WiFi” didn’t work so we felt very unsafe.
- Katya (10/5): - The hotel is very well located in the historic center of the city, 2-3 minutes away by foot from the Uffizi gallery and close to so many shops, restaurants and main plazas. Staff were very kind and helpful at all times. The property is old but well maintained and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was basic but very good as well. The hotel was convenient and well connected by bus, tram, taxi or just by walking. I would stay here again when visiting Florence!
- valeriabflv (2/5): Horrible place to spend in Florence Italy 🇮🇹 - This the worst hotel I have being, stuff is not friendly, breakfast is very poor, room is so small you can’t not even walk around, shower is impossible to use it, they did not even clean the room or change towers, I even ask the reception to fix the AC because I could not sleep because of the loud noise and he didn’t care, came back to the room and was exactly the way I left, besides housekeepers are very loud early morning. Don’t waste your time and money. Horrible place, location is good but is not everything.
- Dennis (10/5): - Daily breakfast, air conditioning worked well. Staff was welcoming.
- Brian (8/5): - Good value for price and location.
- Ying Yu (10/5): - The location is very convenient, especially for shopping and getting around the area. The room was a bit small, but it was clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the complimentary breakfast, which was a nice bonus to start the day
- Irvin (10/5): - Cozzy and near a lots of places to eat and visit
- Clarice (8/5): - This hotel is in a great location close to all the sites in the old city. The rooms are nice but small. It was clean and bed was comfortable. A great option for a weekend stay.
- Susan (10/5): - The staff were amazing. Great location. Nice breakfast spread, complete with a coffee/espresso machine.
- Marta (4/5): - Location is great! But other than that I’ll give 2 stars to this hotel! Staff isn’t friendly, small bathroom and bedroom, uncomfortable bed. Breakfast is very poor.
Not staying in this hotel next time!
- Rachel (8/5): - Very clean, aircon definitely welcome in summer temperatures, breakfast buffet very good. All within walkable distance of the Palazzo Vecchio and other attractions.
- Carol Ann (8/5): - I could not have wanted for a better location. A short walk to everything! Property was as expected per advertising. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
- Kyle (8/5): - The room that i stayed in was really nice. It was close to places to eat and main attractions. There is A/C in the room but they have it locked on a minimum temperature wwhich wasnt cool enough for me. Room service is great and they do a good job of cleaning and replacing towels, but they turn your A/C off during the day so you come back to a hot room. The trick is to hide the remote while youre gone. Also the bed and pillows were quite uncomfortable. Its like they spent all the money remodeling the room and had none left to get a decent mattress.
- Cristiana (2/5): - The room and common areas looked nothing like their photos. Never been so disappointed. The room was tiny and the terrace (shown in photos as a nice place to sit outside and relax) was closed.
- Lindsay (10/5): - Great location and good air conditioning!
- Maria Leoni (10/5): - Our stay was lovely, very comfortable, small but good choice of breakfast.
Beds were comfy and room was clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday.
I would only suggest maybe for a shower curtains as when we had a shower the bathroom floor would be all wet, but easily to clean. And just a note on how to use the phone if we need to call reception but overall the hotel facilities and the staff were brilliant if i could give more then 5 stars i would.
- Marlon Adalid (8/5): - In my particular case, I tink is a good hotel , I would like the breakfast has more options. Probably I comeback next time.
- Francesco_Bertoli (10/5): Delighted to stay at this lovely hotel. - Very nice establishment. Cute 4 star hotel in the exact middle of Florence. The internet access could be slightly better as it faulted occasionally, but it is not all that bad.
The fridge is quite good, better than in many 5 star hotels. Shower, excellent. Breakfast, astounding. Good in-room safe.
My family would like to leave a special thank you to appreciate the following employees:
RECEPTION: Mahen & Letizia.
WAITERS: Camila & Sampath
OTHERS: Sampath
From now on this will be my hotel when returning to Florence.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Great location and very clean
- Eric (8/5): - Nice, helpful staff. Room was clean and surprisingly spacious, affording the opportunity to relax after negotiating Florence’s crowds. well located close to all the major attractions in the city center, including of course the Uffizi.
- Xiomara (10/5): - I initially felt concerned about the hotel's location, but quickly realized it's in an old, historical part of town, where narrow alleys are the norm. We never felt unsafe, nor did we experience noise during our stay. This is a no-frills hotel, and an excellent deal for this being Florence. The breakfast was good. It is within walking distance to eateries, shopping, and museums. It met the needs of our family, including our son who gets around in a wheelchair. We will definitely continue to stay here when we return to Florence.
- andrew (8/5): - Great location. Right in the centre of Florence. No more than 10mins from all the sights.
I’d say it rated as a 3* rather than advertised 4*. Rooms ok and clean. Breakfast basic but adequate. 20min walk to central station, then 20mins by tram (T2) to airport for 1.70€. Bargain. There are better hotels but few with a better location and for the drive it was a good combo.
- Emma (8/5): - Nice reception staff, good location
- Caterina (10/5): - Good choice
- Javier (2/5): - The hotel is renovated, the location is good however, the seriously problem with the air conditioner makes our days miserable.
The Temperature in Florence on July is 36 degrees Celsius.
The hotel front desk guys turned off the lobby air conditioner arguing they feel sick, the hotel elevator and hallways don't have air conditioner at all.
The air conditioner on the room didn't work at all (we have to move to a different room and same thing), we spend two days sweeting at night with kids (2 years old and 6 years old).
The refrigerator at the room didn't work as well, and wee need it to keep our baby milk refrigerated, so basically the hotel solution was to bring the milk to the lobby refrigerator, and we had to walk down 5 floors to pick up the milk at midnight to feed the baby.
The breakfast is also a disaster, it is included but they give an exactly time you have to eat, otherwise you loose the breakfast... the have 7 am / 7:30 am / 8 am / 9 am and 9:30 am... so you have to choose any of these times to get breakfast.
We asked to talk to a manager and during two nights and 3 days, front desk guy always said manager is not available.
By the way after 10 pm all hotel personnel leave and basically it turns in ghost hotel after 10 pm. If something happen you are at your own.
We do not recommend this hotel. POOR
This is a 1 or 2 star hotel, overpriced for the conditions mentioned above.
We request a formal refund to www.hotels.com but was refused.
- Harmeet (8/5): - Very well connected. Room size Good for Family of 4. AC was not very efficient in room, Kind of slow. Rest ok Even breakfast included which is good for wallet
- Lisa Jane (10/5): - in the perfect location, a lovely hotel and everything we needed. gorgeous clean and modern rooms and breakfast was exactly what we like! wouldn’t stay anywhere else if i visited florence again!
- Catherine (10/5): - Everything was perfect! Thank you!!
- Nicole (10/5): - The property looked to be in a weird area when I first booked but it was exactly the opposite. Just down the street was food and shopping and it was really close to a piazza.
- CLAUDIA (8/5): - 9/10 – Great Location and Solid Stay
Aurum Uffizi offers a good experience overall. The location is excellent — just a short walk to the city’s main attractions. The services were good and the staff was helpful. The stay was average but comfortable.
- Omar (10/5): - Great place to stay. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was great for moving everywhere. The room was beautiful! We truly enjoyed the our stay!!
- aylin (6/5): - We arrived at 12 pm so my room wasn't ready, when we came back al 10:06pm nobody was at the front desk i sent a text to the number that appears in the door and we had to wait more than 10 mins for someone open the door.
- Miryung (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, better than we could expect. You can tell the owners and staff really care for the place and want to give the best possible experience.
- Leslie (6/5): - The room was not the cleanest as there was a layer of construction dust in the closet area. We also were given the smallest room for 4-people and could not walk in the room.
- wael (8/5): - An outstanding location, property is very clean..
- Chantal (8/5): - Convenient location, walkable, and pleasant staff. Only downside was the wifi was not working the whole 4 nights we were there. We used up all of our data and didnt have any left for the rest of our trip.
- José (8/5): Bon hôtel - L’hôtel est bien et bien entretenue.
Bien située également.
Le déjeuner bien que limité est bien
Le coté négatif est la salle de bain, aucune ventilation et la douche dans un coin sans aucun éclairage.
- Jorge (10/5): - Great place and affordable
- Summer (10/5): - Amazing location. Super nice, clean and updated rooms.
- Julie (8/5): - 5 minutes walk to Galleria Uffuzi and conveniently located so we could walk everywhere. It’s easy to head for ponte vecchio and the other side of the river. The room was spacious but the corridors are relatively narrow. Offered a self served continental breakfast which was a good start with kids. The eating area a little small so clients need to select a time to show up . Staff were very helpful and responsive. We felt safe as entrance and lift only opened with digital key.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay - It was very good stay over all. The only problem wifi didn’t work. The room was clean and this hotel is closed to so many iconic places. They also offer free breakfast.
- Angela (2/5): - We arrived at Hotel Uffizi & reception was the side of the entrance, the breakfast area was the walk through area. The lift took us up one flight of stairs but we were in an attic up several more flights of stairs. No air con, dark, pokey bathroom & don’t guarantee hot water. We walked in one door, out the other & booked in somewhere much nicer.
- Brent (10/5): - Our group of three made it though challenging to find initially as located halfway down an alley. But once found the check in was easy and friendly. The room size was ok and great air conditioning. The only down side was the wifi which never came up during our 2 day stay. The elevator did go out but came back on just before check out. Friendly staff was another positive.
- Francisco (8/5): - The hotel was centrally located near the plaza, cathedral, and many local shops and restaurants. The entrance to the hotel is a small alleyway off the road. The rooms were decent, but there were a few details that could have made them better. There was a mildew smell from leaking pipes in the walls. The WiFi only worked for a few minutes the night we arrived. And the door to our room would not fully lock when closed (if given a push with a slight force, it would pop open). Other than that it was a good experience, with the front desk doing everything they could to accommodate us. They provided us with air fresheners for the smell, sent someone to check our door, and even provided us with to-go snacks when we couldnt make breakfast due to an early planned trip.
- Rob (8/5): - The units were newly renovated, but still showed some unexpected signs of wear. The hotel is close to the ponte vecchio, which is great.
- Jenna (2/5): - The air conditioning in our room was broken on a 95 degree day, as well as through the night. All maintenance could do was “change the filters”. The problem was not fixed after their visit, and we were unable to contact maintenance thereafter. The hotel could not get us into a new room until our second night.
When we went to sleep that first night, it was 91 degrees F. It finally reached a low of 76F at 6am before quickly heating back up with the sunrise. We were on the 4th floor of the hotel and kept the windows open overnight in a rather unsuccessful attempt to cool the room. In the morning, we were covered in many new mosquito bites.
Since we were traveling with three people, we booked a room with two queen beds. When we arrived, there were two full beds instead. We did not want to make an issue of this and elected to share the bed as planned, but the close sleeping quarters made the heat even worse.
Lastly, when we first arrived at the room, it smelled very strongly of cigarettes. When we mentioned it to the staff, they kindly cleaned our room. Unfortunately, the strong cigarette smell remained.
We are truly easygoing travelers, but this was the most uncomfortable hotel stay I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Brent (6/5): - Great location. Old building redone not well. AC is broken and/or insufficient.
- laurie (6/5): - Air conditioning not working
- Heidi (10/5): - Great place to stay, so close to all attractions.
Fantastic staff and service. A happy traveller.
- Bianca (8/5): - Polite and respectful staff. In a central location, sometimes found easier to walk back to hotel to go to toilet than find a toilet in the city!
Breakfast had minimal variety, but plenty of food. Rooms tidy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Budget Hotel - The receptionist was great! We were able to leave our bags where he stored them away from the entrance for a few hours before we checked in to our room. When we came back he had brought our luggage to our room! The breakfast really wasn’t great so we decided to eat elsewhere while in Florence. The room was spacious, clean, but the best part was the the air conditioning! It was the first time on our trip that we actually got cold. The WiFi in our room was not good at all, but that may be due to the location of our room in regard to the building layout. Overall, our stay was great and the location is perfect for everything we did in Florence!
- Tom (8/5): - Perfect location for exploring Florence, 20 min walk from train station and right in the heart of the city. Staff were really helpful as well.
- Luisa (8/5): - The hotel Uffizi Aurum is very well located. You are within walking distance to major attractions and even train station. The rooms are small but have all that you need. The receptionist and service members were very friendly and helpful. They do offer a small basic breakfast, which is OK. Definitely would recommend the hotel fue its key location.
- Aristotle Chad (6/5): - This is a great hub if you don’t mind walking 15 mins in either direction. Florence is walking city, about 10000 steps and all day walk total 16,000 steps. it’s 42 mins walk, if you need to take the train out to Rome or Milan. Keep that in mind.
- Joseph (8/5): - Overall it was a great experience. The only things I would critique would be the pillows were pretty awful and they only gave one at first. We were hoping the room would have had the A/C already on the day we checked in to help with the brutal heat that week in Florence. Asides from these minor inconveniences the staff were very friendly and even accommodated us checking in at 1:00 AM. It was a pleasant stay.
- Colleen (8/5): - This was such a great location and walkable to so many of the sites in Florence. The staff were very helpful in arranging transportation and suggestions for places to go. The breakfast was just ok but all in all this is a great location and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
- Rhett (8/5): - Warning no parking at prperty, $40 a day and it is a block away. Contintal is limited but the coffee is amazing!!!
- Lisa (6/5): - Great location right in the heart of the historic city centre.
Hotel was basic but serviceable.
The hotel reception and breakfast area was very small but very clean and friendly staff.
Unfortunately my room on the 3rd floor had a few misquote visitors so I didn’t sleep very well. Would recommend insect replient.
- Tia (10/5): - This property had me a little stressed when our taxi first pulled up because from the outside it looks like a slightly rough alley, but once you step inside that all changes. It was very clean, very well kept, and newly renovated. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a very nice stay and would definitely stay here again!
- Laura (10/5): - Fabulous location!
- Brittney (6/5): - pretty good hotel. very clean and redone. the room was pretty hot though, ac barely worked and breakfast could have been a little better, but it was ok
- Samantha (4/5): - Hotel in a dingy alley, 1st impression wasn’t great. Location turned out to be good. Hotel is very basic with uncomfortable bed and extremely small rooms. We had to pay cash for the tourist tax which we thought was odd considering it’s the only place we stayed in across France, Spain & Italy that had this request. When we checked the website we saw that they had charged us a few Euros per person per night over the standard amount for this hotel - left feeling scammed and ripped off - it then made sense they asked for it in cash!!!
- Marijane (6/5): - This hotel is on a sketchy alleyway in A good overall location very close to palazzo echo, uffizi and ponte vecchio. The breakfast is very average. The hotel is tiny so breakfast room is the tiny lobby and you sign up for a breakfast shift. There is an elevator but this hotel is not for you if you cannot do any stairs. There are small steps in the lobby and on my floor - two - i had to go up or down five steps to get to my room. But it’s very affordable and that is very hard to find in the historic center of Florence. My only huge objection is the wifi which is a joke. You get kicked off a lot especially at night. I counted 14 times one night between 10-1030pm. I talked to them about it but they can’t do anything. Owners need to step up and improve this. Found it infuriating.
- Linda (6/5): - Small but clean rooms, nice staff, minimal comfort but great location. Entrance is inconvenient in the middle of an alley but the desk staff is helpful.
- Jorge (6/5): - The hotel is in good location. The only problem with this place is that it’s very expensive and the breakfast not was good the internet was awful and not working at all. Room size was ok, the ac and hot water not working properly. For what you pay I feel that is very
- Rebecca (6/5): - I arrived end of May when night time temperatures were 55 degrees and no blanket on the bed. She handed me about 3 sheets for the night. Apparently no way to get them at 7 pm!?!! At least the heater then AC worked. Only liquid soap in shower. No conditioner etc as shown in ad. Advised by staff to buy inexpensive bottled water as she said tap water was not potable. Nice to have a fridge to keep it cool. Could add a shelf in shower to place toiletries. Having an extra bath mat would be nice since floor gets wet due to no shower door. Only 15 minutes of hot water at a time. Basic minimal decor that photographs well. Great location. Rain head shower nice. 1 block from Ufizzi gallery so in the heart of old town.
- Lily (8/5): - Great service, very helpful at the front. Tourist area but down an alley. Elevator was great and air conditioning.
- LORA (6/5): - Conveniently located in old town Florence
Good food steps away
Staff is friendly
Property is kept very clean
The beds are very comfortable
We liked the rainfall shower head, though the shower stall is very narrow and there is no place to put soap or other items
Breakfast is adequate
Looking at the photos that the property posted on Expedia, where are the free toiletries, terrace/patio with plants, garden and chair in room?
We were told the water is not drinkable. Guests required to pay for water.
No facial tissues available
No hand towels
Change towels q2 days mandatory schedule
No tea kettle available neither in room or on request
No 24 hour reception (as was advertised on Expedia)
Has Elevators, but there are also unavoidable stairs to get to rooms
No chair in room (As was advertised in photos on Expedia)
- Sandra (8/5): - close to :the Dome,Ufizzi gallery, restaurants.
- Carl (6/5): - Pour: très bien situé à quelques minutes des attractions, rénové, tranquille
Contre: air climatisé peu performant, lit et oreillers inconfortables
- Victor (4/5): - Good location… but not great hotel
- Michelle (8/5): - In a great location right by the Uffizi! I loved walking around every day, and being in a central/touristy area made me feel generally safe as a solo traveler, even walking back to the hotel late at night. Room and bathroom are small, and when I first got there it had a very slight odd smell. But if you’re going to be on the go a lot like I was this is a good and affordable place to lay your head!
- Denis (6/5): - Central location, but clearly not a 4 stars hotel.
- Jorge (10/5): - Excellent location close to everything.
Excellent Customer Service
- Andrew (8/5): - Clean an well located
- Debbie (10/5): - Great location, very clean, friendly staff.
- Rachel (6/5): - Best for location/close proximity to areas of interest. Everything else was average to good.
- David (6/5): - Bathroom was very poor. No drainage left water everywhere
- ABIGAIL (4/5): - Very nice staff. Breakfast was limited with not that many options. Hot water ran out and shower was dark. Sheets could have been cleaner as we found mosquitos on the pillows.
