Guest Reviews
- Shirley (10/5): - The staff were awesome and so friendly and helpful
- Dennis (10/5): - Could use an elevator
- Sandra (10/5): - Convenient location. Transporation is right in front of the hotel so it was very easy to haul luggages. The view from their restaurant where they serve breakfast was pretty nice. Lots of shopping, bars and restaurants around the area. I'll gladly stay here again in the future! Thank you!
- Joan (10/5): - Beautiful hotel - staff were very friendly and helpful in securing water taxis etc - the food at the restaurant was excellent ! I would definetly stay here again !
- Damien (10/5): Birthday Trip - The location was everything! The staff was very friendly and helpful. It sucked the didn’t have an elevator and the bed was a little hard but overall the hotel was great to include the restaurant.
- Charles (10/5): - The entire staff was extremely kind and they all spoke English. They all went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They took the time to get to know us and were genuinely interested in us. A big thank you to Mary, Roman, St Michael :), Michaele and Nico the dog! Highly recommend this pensione. Also it is located 2 blocks from Piazza San Marco
- Denise (10/5): - It was August and the weather was hot. We appreciated the air conditioning. The location was perfect, near the sites and water taxi stop from airport. It was clean. The breakfast was filling. We had a pleasant stay.
- Robert (10/5): - Staff was excellent as was the restaurant. The only downside for a couple of seniors was the walk up 4 flights daily. They did take our bags up to our room at arrival and it was easier coming down at checkout. Overall I would highly recommend.
- Dallia (8/5): - Good property. Very well located.
AC might not be functioning at optimal capacity on hot days. Staff was kind and breakfast was fantastic.
- Asher (6/5): - Food was excellent and the staff was great.
Does not have an elevator but the staff helped with our luggage up and down the stairs.
- Maria (10/5): - Very nice clean room, comfortable bed with great air conditioning. Breakfast was wonderful and staff was very attentive. Great location in Venice, easy to find and close to everything. Would highly recommend.
- Yvonne (10/5): - .
- Kristyn (10/5): - We enjoyed the authenticity of the hotel. It is also very clean and the staff is very friendly. We were always welcomed when we walked in. The breakfast is incredible and our waitress was very nice. Thank you!
- Happiness51317656738 (10/5): Excellent - Absolutely amazing experience at Wildner as always. We quickly got a same day reservation after having an issue with a different hotel. The staff was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. They even recognized my husband from years ago when he stayed with family!
The included breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the lunch we got there another day too!
The staff seem like Italian locals with a family feel to the hotel.
The location is a quick walk to water taxi, St. Mark’s and many other restaurants and shops.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough!!
- Mark (10/5): - Overall everyone in group liked the stay.
- Rolando (10/5): - Great location. Water bus stop right in front of hotel was extremely convenient. Easy walk anywhere around town. Many restaurants and shops nearby. On site restaurant was very good. Some say area is noisy, but my room was facing the public gathering/walking/shopping area and yetmy room was quiet. Rooms are dated and no elevator so be ready to climb stairs. Otherwise nice stay.
- Gregory (10/5): - Great stay! Friendly staff, clean room with great views and a great breakfast/bar/restaurant at the base. We will be back!
- Andrew (6/5): - Great view,,,,,,,,,,,but the higher your room the more flights of stairs you have to carry your baggage up and then down again, location facing the lagoon and convenient for water taxis, don't get excited about breakfast,,,,and pigeons walking around your feet while you are eating, water pressure in the shower is brilliant, there i said something good about the hotel.
- Angela (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location, exceptionally convenient for San Marco and Vaporetto transport connections.
- Ernie (8/5): - Small well run hotel
- Steven (10/5): - Excellent, friendly, caring staff.
Nice breakfast, rooms are good, location is excellent!
- laurawU8531TO (10/5): A very romantic Easter - We arrived early and our room was ready, warm friendly service from the start. Beautiful view from the fourth floor. We decided to try the restaurant for lunch. Friendly service lovely food.
This hotel is well appointed a couple of bridges from the main square and across from the ferry stop. Great spacious room with a fabulous shower. A massive thank you to all the staff great friendly service lovely and clean great food and wine. I’m gluten free they catered for me having had breakfast a lunch and a supper there. Great drinks menu too.
My partner proposed on the Saturday a beautiful Easter weekend.
- Raphaella (10/5): - I had a wonderful 3 night stay here after 2 weeks of travelling in Italy. The staff were really lovely and helped me with my improving Italian! Felt that they were genuinely wanting to help with any query I had. Breakfast is included and they give you a brilliant selection of food which sets you off perfectly for the day.
The best aspect of Wildner though is its proximity to everything. It was easy to pop back and drop off bags or freshen up throughout the day. With a beautiful view, you're on the same stretch as some of the top hotels in Venice.
The vaporetto to and from the station stops directly outside making transport ideal.
I would absolutely recommend Pensione Wildner.
- Leslie (8/5): - Nice large room, and very convenient location.
- Cameron (10/5): - Wonderful stay in a traditional Venetian hotel. Staff incredibly warm and friendly, breakfast delicious and just what you need to kick off the day in Venice!
Decor very traditional, and a little tired in places, but all adds to the charm. Would stay again!
- Jack (10/5): Brilliant Hotel in Venice - Amazing location, beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Will definitely return. Walking distance to everything you'd want. Perfect for couples!
- Denise (10/5): - Stayed for new year eve. The hotel is in a great location and the staff were fantastic could not do enough for you.
- Juan (10/5): - The service was great, the manager was very attentive and helpful.
- stella (4/5): - Old and outdated,
- GLORIA A (10/5): - Concierges friendly and helpful. Some excess furniture in room. Restaurant attached to property very good. Windows looked out on the 'bacino' - excellent
- GREGG (10/5): - Excellent location
- CHRISTIAN (10/5): - Nice place and fare price. Beautiful views of lagoon.Easy walk to St Marcus square
- Debra (10/5): Lovely hotel in a great area - Small hotel in a convenient area, close to St. Marks Square. The airport boat dropped off right outside. Only one small negative. In the room the hanging rail was so high up, being small people we could not reach it so had to hang our clothes on the coat rack by the door! Breakfast was good. Fruit, yoghurts, croissants, meat, cheese and boiled eggs, very sufficient to keep you going throughout the day
- William (8/5): - Great location by the water taxi stop, older hotel but in good shape, no elevator so if you are the upper floors you get some exercise
- Carly (6/5): Great location, Hard Bed - The view from our room was amazing. You are lining a busy part of Venice so it is a little loud until after 21pm. You are staying in an old hotel so everything in the room was old, but we had a bathroom, bed, and privacy. We were good. The bed was a little hard, so it was not a very comfortable sleep. The placement of the hotel is right next to the boat taxis and boat bus, so the stay was worth it. Great location.
- francis (6/5): - Good staff
- Mark (10/5): - Had a wonderful stay.
- Geraldine (6/5): - Not as photos shown on site. Staff unhelpful. Breakfast not Buffett style so no choices. Only one thin sheet in bed and one duvet for twin beds!! When requested another duvet told not tonight too busy have to wait until morning!
- geraldinegX2635MP (6/5): Not worth a Second Stay - Not quite the same as the posted photos! No lift but given that this is a very old hotel not unexpected. No information leaflet in the room (superior twin with canal view) i.e. details of fire exits, Reception extension number, air con instructions etc. all the standard information given out at hotels. No welcome on arrival and only requested to see our passports. Elderly man on reception struggling to understand us. No information given except time of breakfast. Kettle provide in room but no plug to be seen. Harassed young girl sent to our room to show that the plugs were behind a heavy piece of furniture that needed to be pulled out to access or one virtually behind a sofa bed!
Beds and pillows surprisingly comfortable however only provided with a top sheet and one duvet - twin beds!!. When asked for a further duvet we were told not possible as hotel full that night and would have to wait until the next day so I spent a very cold uncomfortable night and gave the duvet to my grandmother who I was travelling with.
Breakfasts however were good but not buffet style so no choices.
As this hotel is on the main canal basin promenade there is much footfall and water bus activity. If looking for a quiet hotel this is not for you.
I would only give this hotel a 2 star rating.
- Rafael (8/5): - Staff very helpful. Good location. Great breakfast. The only problems, very small TV and 3 flights of stairs to get to the room.
- Dana Nicole (10/5): - Lovely stay, the staff made us feel very welcome and safe.
- Kcal Kelkel (10/5): - The staff was amazing, the place was spacious and quiet. Perfect location close to water bus, was awesome. We stayed here three days. Was in perfect location to walk anywhere. Great food and drinks.
- David (6/5): - The hotel has a great location, but the rooms are small and very dated. The bath room had been updated, but small.
This building does not have an elevator, so be prepared to walked up. We had a 4th floor room.
The site photos show ocean view, but there was not an option to select ocean or city view, so we were disappointed on getting a city view room upon arrival at an ocean view price.
Overall, not what we were exspecting for the price, but I would call this a standard older european hotel.
Thanks
- Diana (10/5): - Beautiful views from lagoon on third floor!
Great location for water taxi, walk to San Marco Square!!!
- Akgun (10/5): - Nice people helpful Great location right next to San Marco Square
- Grace (8/5): - We had a great stay! Perfect place in Venice. Fantastic location.
- bflachance (10/5): Penzione Wildner a Venetian Hotel on The Grand Canal - Pensione Wildner is an unexpected treat. It is a boutique hotel with a very good restaurant & is family owned & operated. Located on the promenade directly across from San Giorgio Maggiore Catholic Church on The Grand Canal, it has a fabulous view of the broader aspect of the canal, with ferries, water taxis, & gondolas dominating the vista. My bathroom was freshly remodeled replete with contemporary amenities including a bidet. The walls were covered in a brocade fabric & the room was furnished with antiques that featured French marquetry. There were even Venetian Glass Sconces & a Venetian Glass Chandelier that no doubt were hand blown in Murano.
- Lubna (10/5): Wonderful stay in Venice - Staying at Pensione Wildner was a great experience, from friendly staff to easy transportation options. The room was spacious and pretty, and the amenities were perfect for our short stay. One thing we were surprised by was the high cost of laundry services as costs per item were not specified beforehand and the hotel couldn’t provide an estimate for us. Otherwise wonderful stay and highly recommended for anyone looking for a great spot in Venice. The free breakfast was a great bonus!
- Anthony (10/5): Perfect location and most welcoming - They did everything to make our stay the best it could be. We are so glad we booked this hotel! It felt like we were staying at a friends house. I couldn’t give anything less than five stars
- Gilbert (10/5): - Great location and very clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel was great and in the center of everything. Just keep in mind, no elevator in the building
- J8133AKmarkb (10/5): Fantastic hotel with friendly staff and lovely views - Excellent location, very friendly staff, lovely breakfast and even though our rooms were at the rear of the hotel, we had great views over the rooftops, towers and domes of Venice. There is no elevator as others have observed, but it added to the charm and authenticity of the place - and frankly we needed the exercise with all the pizza, pasta and gelato we consumed during our stay!
- jennifer (6/5): Beware no elevator - Location- great! Restaurant below- great. Value- great. Shower- amazing water pressure. Bed was really uncomfortable and there is no elevator- so lugging a suitcase 4 flights up was awful.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Amazing hotel with wonderful staff! Hotel is located right beside the water bus station and around the corner from St. Mark’s Basilica. It is perfectly central but also quiet. Breakfast on the restaurant terrace is amazing. If I ever return to Venice I will absolutely stay at Pensione Wildner again!
- Janet (10/5): - The staff was awesome! Although the room felt a bit outdated it did have an Italian vintage feel to it and it felt like I was in an old movie set. It was nice. The hotel is in a prime location and walkable to attractions and just steps away from the water taxi. The bed a bit hard for my liking but i enjoyed it. I was able to enjoy breakfast on my last morning and it was good which included 1 hard boiled egg, bread basket, fruit salad, cheese, salami, ham, orange juice and cappuccino. I would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Loved! Wonderful experience. Recommend! - We loved our stay at Pensione Wildner. The location was amazing. I loved that it was right off of a main stop on the Vaporetto and there were no bridges to have to climb. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. Our room was small but comfortable. Our reservation included breakfast and I highly recommend opting for that. It was a simple yet fresh and delicious breakfast and a wonderful start to our day. I highly recommend. We will definitely stay here again. The only downside was there was no elevator the staff helped us so it was fine.
- DanHNewJersey (10/5): Well Located - We stayed here 4 nights after a 3 week Mediterranean cruise so we had quite a bit of baggage to carry up and down the stairs. We had a third floor room facing the lagoon and the view was so great that we thought the stairs (and lack of a lift) was a relatively minor inconvenience. But of course it could be a real dealbreaker for someone who struggles with stairs. We paid $250 per night (early July) which included a very nice breakfast and we thought that was a competitive rate given the view, the strong location 1/4 mile from St. Mark's Sq, and that the San Zaccaria vaporetto docks and the Alilaguna dock to/from the airport are mere steps from the hotel. Hotel and restaurant staff could not have been more friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom furnishings were lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Mike (10/5): - Terrific place to stay in Venice. Michel at the front desk was awesome and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.
- Jose (10/5): - This hotel and it staff are great! Breakfast was very good!
Centered in the middle of everything.
We will definitely stay again when in Venice.
- Catherine (8/5): - The rooms are somewhat cramped and tired. Lobby as well. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Very convenient for transportation and restaurants.
- Ismena (10/5): - Wonderful
- Mary Ann (8/5): - Great location for transport via vaporetto (water bus) or the Alilaguna airport water bus, all stops are right out the front of the hotel. Alilaguna airport water bus can be taken from/to Venice Marco Polo airport.
- Mary (10/5): - We stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel was very clean with a spacious room. I chose this hotel for location over the lagoon but didn’t appreciate how close and accessible it was for getting around Venice. Breakfast was continental and plentiful. The restaurant served a gorgeous selection of food, with friendly staff on hand.
- John (6/5): Our vacation - The hotel is outdated and very dirty.
They need to take some of the money they are making off of tourist and invest it back into upgrades.
- Sudip (10/5): - Very nice property. Receptionists were all very nice and helpful. Only thing was we couldn’t get any different items in breakfast even though we ordered but we ate good food regardless. When you take the water bus, stop at San Zacharia B stop and you are right in front of the hotel. Overall a great place that I would highly recommend and go back to!!
- Liel (10/5): - Fantastic location. Michele at reception gave outstanding customer service. Friendly staff and the food and wine was amazing.
- Jo (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room was very small, needs updating but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again because of the staff.
- Rochelle (8/5): - The hotel was very old Italia. But that is one of the things I loved about it. The shower was a bit small. There is no lift/elevator for guest. So if you can't do stairs this is not the hotel for you.
- GERARD (10/5): - We had a wonderful time in Venice and highly recommend staying at the hotel Pensione Wildner.
The views from our bedroom windows were stunning, could not have asked for more.
The rooms were clean and spacious enough to be very comfortable and decor had all the essence of a venetian hotel. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets and comfy pillows. Plenty of storage, a safe for valuables and rooms were daily cleaned and replaced with fresh towels and toiletries. The two ladies who cleaned our rooms were really helpful and friendly, it was a real pleasure, thank you.
We were greeted at the desk by Michele, a wonderful man who was so lovely, friendly with a great sense of humour who made us feel right at home, felt like we were visiting friends. There is staff 24 hours on duty, and his fellow colleagues were also friendly and helpful if you needed anything.
The breakfast was included and was plenty enough for the two of us, fresh rolls, croissants, egg, meats, cheese, juice and coffee. Delicious.
This was a long overdue holiday and we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Venice. What a perfect choice we made, could not have asked for more.
All we can say is thank you so very much to Michele and all his fellow staff who were so courteous, friendly and worked so hard to make our stay such an enjoyable and most pleasant experience.
Thank you everyone, we will definitely stay there again.
Kindest regards and best wishes Michele.
From Mr and Mrs Peteuil.
- Vicki (10/5): - Even though this property is far away from the train station, it is right on the grand canal and water taxis, both private and public , are very close by. It was also nice having breakfast every morning.
- Kimberley (10/5): - We were warmly welcomed and were given a lot of very helpful information.
The hotel was very clean and right around the corner from various points of interest. We felt very safe walking around the streets and the food everywhere went was delicious.
- Marc (6/5): - Très ancien .( il y a encore du pré fini dans corridor et tapisserie jaune velours dans chambre ) Aurait avantage à être rénové
Lits moyens
- Randy (6/5): - View was wonderful, but I missed the fact it didn’t have an elevator and I use a cane and can not feel my right side from the waist down so stairs are very difficult
- Cruiser35761758059 (8/5): Nice hotel on the water - We loved the view from our room 37 I think, overlooking the beautiful water with all the boat traffic. Lots of tourist groups passing by on the way to the doge palace. If you head the opposite direction things are quieter and very nice for strolling. My wife and I walked from the bus station to here and it was an experience. We must have crossed 20 bridges with our rollersuitaces. Not hard for me but wife got some arm exercise. 💪 Llocated near the Vivaldi church where we attended a 4 seasons concert. Michele at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Not luxurious but nice and spacious. We would stay there again.
- EDWARD (8/5): - I’m the middle of everything. Very convenient
- Glen (4/5): - Floors were dirty, fans didn’t work, rooms smelt, open windows and then you get mosquitoes and smell from the kitchens around the complex. Front desk staff was friendly, breakfast was delicious only plus
- Yuliya (8/5): - We had a great view from the 3rd floor. Hotel is cute and in a great location. Downside, stairs and mosquitoes. Too hot when window is closed, too many mosquitoes when it's open. Front desk person was helpful with a good sense of humor. Breakfast was pretty good and big enough. Only instant coffee in the room and no fridge. Kettle and some tea included. Room can use some updates, especially bathroom, but view makes up fo it. Hotel is in front of water bus stop, assuming there is no strike, check it out before going. Overall we recommend this place.
- John (10/5): - A most enjoyable stay - the staff went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. Food excellent.
- Gary (8/5): Can’t beet the location - Excellent location 5 minute walk from Saint Marks Square. Room is very Venetian and larger than expected, service and breakfast were very good. Down fall no elevator, we had to carry our luggage up 4 very steep flights of stairs. But worth it over all.
- Douglas (10/5): - We love the staff. They were so helpful and made our stay great. The restaurant was awesome. Everything we ate there was so good. They view from our room was beautiful.
- NLN1983 (8/5): Lovely stay - Perfect, central location with water bus stops in front of hotel. Staff friendly.
Room was very basic and could do with modernisation but fine for a short stay, although an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom which could have been a little bit cleaner.
- MrsPicky (10/5): Can’t go wrong here! - This was our first return visit to Hotel Wildner in 4 years due to covid etc.
Our stay was as lovely as ever.
Michele was extremely helpful, as always, with organising our stay, (via e mail) 4 nights in a deluxe room, which is ALL about the views!
We have stayed in all categories of hotels in Venice, and although this is not a luxury establishment, it is now our go to choice, due to location, views, and staff.
The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom, although compact was perfectly adequate.
Breakfast was no longer buffet style, but served to you. Plenty to eat, which set us up for the day. (On this occasion we didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant.)
Many thanks to all team Wildner.
We hope to return again soon.can
- graeme (10/5): 10/10 - Excellent location. Very central to all you need and tours etc. Stunning view over the lagoon from bedroom window. Breakfast was delicious and sets you on the way for your day. Michele was very welcoming and so helpful throughout our stay when we asked for recommendations and transport to and from airport.
- 687alinal (10/5): Great hotel! Totally recommend! - What a great hotel!
First of all - the view! Amazing! We had a room on the 3rd floor - the deluxe double with laguna view- and it did not dissapoint! Waking every morning to that view was one of the highlights of our trip to Venice!
The room was quite large, it offered a kettle and tea/coffee facilities, which was unexpected ( tip: maybe adding some milk capsule for people who don't like their coffee black). The mattress was firm but slept great. We had a big wardrobe with hangers to store our clothing.
The bathroom was very big, not problem with the shower.
The cleaners were really nice ( we've seen them cleaning the staircase).
One issue we had was the lock on the door, as unable to lock the door on the inside over the night. However, the door can not be opened from outside unless you have a key.
The staff was really nice to us and always helpful!
The breakfast- delicious! We didn't know what to expect from continental breakfast but it was amazing, and so filling! Choice of coffee or cappuccino/cafe latte, orange juice, croissants, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs and fruit salad! We didn't need any food until lunch time 😀
We tried the restaurant one evening and we had some glasses of wine. The service was really great!
Location wise, it's great! Right on the promenade, you have the vaporetto station right outside ( for Murano/Burano/Piazzale Roma). So if you're arriving at Treviso Airport and take the bus to Piazzale Roma, then you can take the vaporetto straight to the hotel!
It's like 5 minutes walking to Piazza San Marco over the bridges which are wheelchair/ pushchair accessible on the promenade.
Access is open 24-7 so you can go out and come back as you please.
Overall, we had an amazing stay at Prnsione Wildner! Will definitely look to book it again when we return to Venice!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Danhai (10/5): - The hotel's prime location, just a two-minute walk from St. Mark's Square and a 15-minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, makes it an ideal base for exploring Venice. Additionally, the water bus station, providing easy access to the airport, Burano, and Murano islands, is conveniently located just steps away from the hotel. While the breakfast may be simple, it efficiently serves its purpose. Moreover, the staff members are exceptionally friendly and eager to assist guests, enhancing the overall experience.
- Adonis (4/5): - No ac
- Alice (8/5): - This hotel was conveniently situated on the waterfront, had a certain old-world charm and was comfortable - given the reasonable price we were quite happy with it and just thrilled to be in Venice! However, the room did lack a fridge - as it was winter we simply used the window sill to keep our milk cool, but this might be more of an issue in summer. It also doesn’t have an elevator and we were on the fourth floor (!), which we didn’t mind (although we were extra mindful to make sure we didn’t forget anything when we headed out for the day!), but it could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. The staff/management were very friendly and helpful and we discovered on the last night that the restaurant was wonderful! It was closed when we first arrived or we would have eaten there more often.
- Denise (8/5): Easy to get to. - The hotel was very good. We were told we could get first floor room. They were able to accommodate first floor the 2nd night of our stay. No lift, but they helped us with our bags which was greatly appreciated. Friendly staff and good breakfast. EASY to get to!!!
- Angel (10/5): - The only inconvenience is no have elevators other than that everything was perfect.
- Deliya (10/5): - A traditional hotel, lovely staff, right above the San Zaccaria vaporetto/alilaguna stops. Very clean and comfortable, great breakfast (included), traditional feel to the decor. Bathroom small but luxurious.
- billybean (8/5): Great location and comfy rooms - Had a great stay here. Easily located as you step off the boat and immediately on the promenade. Wonderful location near the square, lovely walking along the front looking out over the lagoon.
There's no lift however the stairs are easy. Breakfast looking out at the tour groups was great and tasty. The room was very spacious. It is old and lots of dark wood with a quirky shower which was a little on the small side. However the bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked well, and the size was really good for a few days of relaxing and seeing the sights.
- IRINE (10/5): - Great location to catch a watertaxi, restaurants and shops. Close to all main attractions.
- Zachary (10/5): - Great place to stay if you are visiting
- Kathleen (10/5): Perfect location, amazing staff. - Our first time to Venice from Scotland and our experience was just amazing, mostly down to Pensione Wildner and their fantastic staff, clean room and fabulous breakfast. Michele the Hotel Manager kept in contact with me from the moment of booking and arranged an airport transfer for us at 11:30pm. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful with a fabulous shower. The hotel location is the best around, within walking distance to all the tourist areas and all docks for the ferry’s to travel further if required. We will return and will stay here again, wouldn’t go anywhere else. Excellent service all round. Thank you for having us. We even got engaged not far from the hotel on our last day.
- jen (10/5): - The correspondence with the hotel was timely and very informative. The ferry shuttle from the airport drops off directly in front of the hotel Which was awesome. It is located near all major attractions and Venice is walkable. Bring appropriate shoes. The breakfast that is included is an easy start to the day and very good! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the surround area. It’s a definite feeling of stepping back in Venetian time! Absolutely loved our time here in the hotel. What a gem!
- Monica (10/5): - We got a room with free breakfast and we ate it only one of the two days we were there. It was nice but simple. Little meat/cheese plate with breads and a boiled egg. They also brought a coffee and orange juice. The staff was very nice. The location is very close to St. Mark's Square and convenient to the water taxi locations. Our room was nice but a bit dated. We had issues with the shower not draining fast enough. Also it has no elevator, but that was not an issue for us. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
- JaslHamilton (10/5): Great location and view! - We were really happy with this hotel and loved our room with a view of San Giorgio Maggiore - we would definitely stay here again!
Location is perfect, close to Piazza San Marco and the San Zaccaria water bus stop is right in front of the hotel. There are several other stops in close walking distance so you can get pretty much wherever you want to go. The San Zaccaria stop also has runs to the airport.
We had breakfast included which was brought to us at the table (croissants, bread rolls, ham and cheese selection, eggs and fruit salads) which all tasted very fresh. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.
- WalM161 (10/5): Only place to stay in Venice. - This hotel was excellent in every way. It is what I would expect in Venice, old but very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. The location is perfect, just 2 mins from St. Marks Square. Opposite are where the ferries leave for all the islands. The view from our room is just amazing. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, it was very good too. The restaurant has a huge advantage over all the other hotels in this area, it is enclosed by glass which can be opened up. So even on cold days you can sit and people watch. The restaurant itself is excellent, great food and the staff were very knowledgeable on the food and wine.
- Hilary (8/5): - Great location, rooms aren't modern but do have character
