• ines (6/5): Bene ma non benissimo - Il personale è gentile e disponibile, la pulizia degli ambienti è buona,la posizione è buona Quando ho prenotato ho scelto una struttura che potesse offrire la colazione ma una volta arrivati abbiamo scoperto che per fare colazione avremmo dovuto andare in un altro albergo nelle vicinanze;fra l'altro la colazione non è stata affatto all'altezza della struttura...cornetti e brioche vecchi,cappuccino fatto con la macchinetta automatica che poi si è anche inceppata... Ascensore guasto con 2 rampe di scale.... Noi non abbiamo fatto fatica a superare questi inconvenienti ma immagino chi ha con se dei bimbi ho ha difficoltà motorie...
• Julie (7/5): Hotel Cortina Rome - We stayed here 11 years ago so we decided to return as it’s in a good central area to shops, bars, restaurants and attractions. The hotel rooms are very clean, with a TV and fridge but no kettle which was disappointing. Lovely clean towels provided everyday. Since staying 11 years ago it now looks dated and the hallway of the building looks shabby with communal bins full of rubbish. Possibly due to the lift not working. The breakfast area was closed with no prior notification so we had to go to another hotel the Britannia for breakfast which we didn’t mind but wasn’t really what we booked. There was staffing issues so two days we had to input a code to enter the hotel. It really didn’t feel safe or secure. If a guest didn’t close the door properly the hotel would be vulnerable with guests staying there. It’s no longer a suitable hotel for me and my friends to stay for future visits to Rome. I must say that Alessia on reception helped me to change rooms after the first night. A very pleasant and helpful young Lady.

• Erika (6/5): Kedves volt a recepciós hölgy , megoldotta a kéréseinket, de a szoba szűk , szegényes, a fürdőszoba néhány helyen penész - Az elhelyezkedés A közzétett fotók és a valóság igen messze állt egymástól. Többször jártunk már külföldön , de ilyen ágynemű el, ágyneműhuzat megoldással nem találkoztunk . A paplan alá és fölé egy -egy lepedő, ami természetesen reggelre külön életet élt és maradt a más vendég által IS használt paplan.

• Happiness663924 (4/5): Hotel Cortina - It's hard to leave a negative review because the staff are SO kind and helpful, but I would not stay here again. The location is good. The room was a good size for Europe and no complaints about the bed. Again, staff is great. However, the hotel is over a bar, which is loud into the early hours of the morning. It's not the hotel's fault, but it made it difficult to sleep. I also was put in the first room, right next to the small reception area, so I heard every conversation and every time someone came in and out of the hotel. On top of that, though the room and bathroom seemed clean for the most part, the shower curtain was mildewy and smelled horrible. After showering in the morning, I'd come back to my room in the afternoon and could still smell mildew. The tub you had to stand in to shower was very deep but also narrow, so anyone who had any problem at all with balance would not do well in that room. Breakfast was okay - same exact thing every day with no hot items available.

• fatimag213 (10/5): Alessia on Reception was Outstanding - We stayed at the Cortina Hotel in April for 5 days then one more night on our way back from Florence. Alessia on reception was exceptional, extremely friendly, helpful and helped with all our needs & queries. The hotel is located a 10 minutes walk from Termini Station, there is also a bus stop across the road if you want to get a bus to some of the sites, although Rome is a very walkable city. The hotel is on the first floor and there is no lift ( a note for those with disabilities). Outside there are many places to eat, drink and enjoy gelato! The hotel is as described on the site, not luxury but extremely clean and comfortable. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was lovely and enough to start the day ( note: no cooked breakfast). Alessia on reception was so lovely with us and all the guests, she had balloons, rose petals and a card arranged on the bed for my birthday surprise which was a lovely gesture. A lovely stay and lovely staff!
• Annie72 (4/5): Changed - If you stayed here before Angelo sold it, don’t expect anything close to what it was. Sad. There is no more 24 hour reception. Front door to the street is left open sometimes, when reception leaves at 4:30 the wooden door to the hotel is sometimes left open by gusts. When it’s closed the ket pad id temperamental. One guest arrived late and had to call the sister hotel but they never answered the phone. He had to run out to the other hotel for help.I had to help people sometimes and the key pad gave us problems. Only certain price levels get free breakfast. The drapes and table cloths are no more in the breakfast areas.

The building is under reconstruction and the “hotel” is actually just an apartment, which was not clearly stated. The room had no natural light or proper ventilation, making it very stuffy and uncomfortable. Reception is only open from 8:00 to 16:30, and overall it felt unsafe. I would not recommend this place.

• Maria (3/5): Il mio soggiorno è stato deludente e non all’altezza delle aspettative. - La posizione è comoda rispetto alla stazione Termini. Quello che non avete comunicato è che, al mio arrivo dopo le 16:30, sono stata obbligata ad andare all’Hotel Britannia per effettuare il check‑in, nonostante il soggiorno fosse già completamente pagato. Lì mi è stata richiesta nuovamente la carta di credito per un deposito cauzionale per eventuali danni in camera, una richiesta che, sinceramente, mi ha lasciata senza parole. Tra attese e procedure, ho perso circa 10–15 minuti inutilmente. Successivamente mi sono recata all’Hotel Cortina, dove sono rimasta scioccata nel vedere i bidoni della spazzatura posizionati subito dietro la porta d’ingresso, con un odore evidente. Per accedere all’albergo ho dovuto salire le scale fino al primo piano, dove ho pagato la tassa di soggiorno a una persona in reception che, a questo punto, avrebbe potuto tranquillamente gestire anche il check‑in, evitando del tutto il passaggio al Britannia. Quando sono entrata in camera, ero da sola, ho trovato due gradini immediatamente dietro la porta: a mio avviso molto pericolosi, soprattutto senza alcun avviso o segnalazione. Il bagno era vecchio, con una vasca piena di macchie e visibilmente danneggiata; la doccia sembrava degli anni ’80. Il letto era rifatto, ma il piumino non aveva nemmeno una copertura. Devo dire che l’esperienza è stata completamente diversa da ciò che mi aspettavo. Onestamente, non può essere considerato un albergo, ma piuttosto un semplice affittacamere.

Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It was nice that we could leave our bags before check-in. We were offered some water when we came in which was much needed! Staff offered to make reservations for us, which was very helpful. The bed and room one wasn’t the greatest. The bed in room 15 was better. They had some options available for us to participate in, but due to the short notice, we weren’t able to work those into our plans. I wish we would’ve known about those options several weeks ago.

Non ho gradito i rumori e i cori da stadio provenienti dai piani superiori di questo hotel che si trova al primo piano di un palazzo e che non ha una hall. Il bagno era microscopico, con un lavandino simile a quelli delle stanze dei traghetti. La vasca da bagno era davvero piccola, sembrava una tinozza. Mancavano anche i bicchieri per gli spazzolini, così come i kit cortesia. In corrispondenza del mio comodino, e praticamente in tutta la stanza, non c'era nessuna presa elettrica, al di là di quelle a cui era collegato il lume e il frigobar, quindi ho dovuto ricaricare il telefono in bagno. Abbiamo pagato uno sproposito queste due notti a Roma per quello che ci è stato offerto, non era prevista nemmeno la colazione. Prezzo davvero troppo elevato.

• Daniël (2/5): Unfortunate stay - Our stay started with a very pleasant welcome, despite us being too early for the check-in. It was no problem to have our luggage stored while we went in the city. The room was clean. However, the night was less pleasant. The boiler of the hotel is located next to our room. In the middle of the night the tube broke so there were mechanics coming to work on the tube. We didnt know about this and we woke up from flashlights and people in front of our room window. This was a big shocker and made us feel unsafe. After this we called the emergency line and they told us not to worry. The mechanis kept working during the night and it woke us up several times (they were knocking on the wall and the window accidentally). Unfortunately, they were not able to fix the problem. In the morning we didnt have water: so we couldnt shower, flush the toilet or use the sink. During the check-out we expected someone at the reception to say sorry for the inconvenience or at least mention it. This didnt happen. Unfortunately we wouldnt come here again.

C'è stato un problema con la doccia: impossibile controllare la temperatura e il flusso(ho impiegato 30minuti per fare una doccia)

This situation is unacceptable for a hotel of your level, especially considering that I am unable to take a proper shower or use basic facilities.

• Barbara (5/5): - The location is very convenient. The hotel is just above a night club that plays music until early in the morning. So, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone who would like to sleep at night.

• simoneL603XM (6/5): Adequate B&B with hopeless showers. - Not a hotel but a B&B. Good location for getting about. Staff friendly. First floor and no working lift. Above an Irish bar. Showers have no thermostatic control and alternate between stone cold and burning hot. Rooms small.

• Gjergji (1/5): One day before the arrival, the hotel text me that I have to go to another hotel , because the hotel - The communication from the moment I did the reservation until one day before arriving The day before arrival, the hotel wrote to me informing me that the hotel could not accommodate me and the reservation would be transferred to another hotel. I was forced to accept this. The new hotel did not have basic facilities, there was no hot water in the shower. This did not leave a good impression on my stay at the hotel.
• Naomi (9/5): Great stay, yet again! - The location, room, breakfast and staff were all stellar. This was my second stay here and it was just as great as the first time I stayed here, three years ago. As a solo traveler, the room was fine three years ago, but traveling with my husband and 18 month old made for a cramped stay! Also, the water temperature was uneven the last night we stayed there, it'd be extremely hot or extremely cold.
• ernniederksen (6/5): Loud bar under our room - Nice hotel some street noise but the bar under our room play music till 1:30 first night and 12 the next night. I guess that’s why there were ear plugs in the room for us to use. The front entrance is a little confusing it doesn’t look like a hotel entrance when you open the door. Well, it had two big flights steps to get up to the top and that was pretty tough on two old ladies, but it was worth it…

• Gary (2/5): - Great location, terrible property. Lift had been broken for quite some time prior to our arrival date but the property never alerted us. We are in our 70’s and had to drag our bags up 22 stairs to get to the front desk. There was no one capable of assisting us. The front desk ladies were very kind and understanding but unable to lift our bags. Our room was advertised as “superior” for which we paid extra. After dragging our bags up 22 stairs, we found the room was anything but. Broken refrigerator, no wardrobe or closet space to hang your clothes, dead bedside electrical outlet, very dim lighting in entire room and worst of all the room is directly above an Irish pub that had nightly live entertainment. Very, very loud, noisy room. We expressed our concerns to the manager who only offered a 20% discount on a future stay! Unacceptable. Would never stay at this property again. Do not recommend at all.
• VJBEARS (10/5): Wonderful stay in Rome. - Beautiful stay in Rome. Very helpful staff and wonderful breakfast served with gorgeous coffee and such happy staff. Very comfy bed too. Knowledgable front of house.

• David (6/5): Great value, very friendly. - Breakfast was very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, convenient location and some windows to look out on the street. Overall great value. Our room was accessed by walking through what looked like an strange little staff room with a computer and not much else in it, not a traditional room location in a hotel. But the room itself was clean, had coffee and was very large by European standards.

• Stephanie (8/5): - Well positioned, very friendly & helpful staff. Small dining room restricted breakfast times, small room with no view, no water pressure so poor shower. Served its purpose.
• Richard (8/5): Long weekend - Room very noisy, as we were above and Irish bar and on the outside facing the street. The hotel provides ear plugs, however I brought my own gel ear plugs, and you will need them if you need silence to get to sleep. Staff at reception and at breakfast very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good In the junior suite, they provide coffee and tea making facilities, however the cups were never cleaned by the staff, and no replenishment of the tea and coffee once used.
• A2384JSevelyng (10/5): Excellent Hotel & location - The location was excellent, the staff: Melissa, Sara & Giulia were the highlight of our stay. Always pleasant and ready to give us excellent service & fulfill our needs. Breakfast was very good. This is our 5th time in Rome and 1st time at this hotel; definitely we will return again. The elevator was out of service so we did need to climb stairs, but it was fine; after eating the pasta & pizza we needed it.
• Lise (9/5): Highly recommend - Room was comfortable, staff is amazing!! Location is great. If I ever go back to Rome I will definitely book there. Close to all the sites I wanted to visit by foot. It is a little odd that the hotel is within a building but everything else well makes up for it.

• H273GSpauld (10/5): I would stay here again in a heartbeat - Great little Hotel which out does its 3 star rating. Centrally located 10 minutes walk from Roma Termini. Rooms are dated but bathroom very well equipped and whole room spotless. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and the breakfast is superb- if I ever get back to Rome I would not hesitate to stay there again. Also good value for money.

• Thomas (8/5): Personal toll und lieb, Lage total super, würden wiederkommen, dann ein anders Zimmer buchen. - Die Lage ist absolut toll und zentral, alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Sehr gut funktionierende Klimaanlage. Bei der Hitze am Tag sehr wohltuend, in ein gekühltes Zimmer zu kommen. Das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Räumlichkeiten des Hotels liegen im ersten Stock, es gibt keinen Fahrstuhl !!! Die Koffer müssen lange 24 Stufen nach oben gewuchtet werden. Nicht für jeden körperlich so einfach. Trotz des gebuchten Superior Zimmers mit Kaffee- und Teeservice wurden die Kaffeekapseln nie wieder aufgefüllt. Im Erdgeschoss direkt unter unserem Zimmer befindet sich ein Irish Pub der mehrfach in der Woche bis 1.00 Uhr nachts laute Livemusik veranstaltete, an Schlaf nicht zu denken. Das war wirklich schade. In anderen Zimmern soll es tatsächlich nicht zu hören gewesen sein.

• Chris (10/5): - Incredibly friendly staff both at reception and breakfast who were more than willing to help us out when we needed it (e.g. providing a fan for the room, making sure we were attended to at breakfast and giving local recommendations). The breakfast was an Italian spread that we both enjoyed thoroughly with enough variety for a picky eater. The room was clean and well decorated and we barely heard any noise from outside with the window closed. The room size was comfortable and functioned perfectly for sleeping and the odd pit stop. The location was good with a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro or around 20 to 40 minutes to all of the main attractions such as the Colosseum, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, etc. There was also a fantastic gelato shop right outside for those late night cravings and many shops down the same road. The only negative was the lack of soundproofing in some parts as we could clearly hear breakfast being set up (around 6:30AM) and some heavy construction noises from an adjacent building.

• R (8/5): Roma este minunată. - Micul dejun foarte bun. Locația excelentă , acesta a fost motivul pt care am ales hotelul. Personalul foarte amabil. Camera a fost cu vederea la oraș, asa cum am dorit. Totul a fost OK !

• Discover60025660426 (2/5): Confirmed my room then sent me to another hotel - After booking a room and getting confirmation of the room I chose, didn’t even get to stay in the hotel. First, the elevator didn’t work, we had to haul our luggage up the stairs in the heat, we were then told they tried to contact me to let me know a room wasn’t available. Meanwhile the site shows many rooms are available. We were forced to stay at another hotel, so had to carry all our luggage down the stairs again and find this other hotel. No apology, not even a breakfast voucher, and so rude. They’re overbooking and shuffling people over to smaller hotel that didn’t even fit our luggage and had no balcony. I specially booked a room with a balcony.
• Zini (8/5): - The hotel is very conveniently located right in the centre of the city very close to the railway station and downtown Rome but the biggest issue is that it is a small hotel located on the second floor n there was no elevator from getting the bags to the second floor - you have to take the stairs. The room was average - clean but no coffee machine in the room which to me is a big no. Moreover, the washroom n the shower are too small - I know rooms n washrooms are small in Europe but this was way too small.
