Guest Reviews
- Guillermo (2/5): - Aire Condition didn’t work .
- Fernando (10/5): - We appreciate the cleanliness and location of this hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the location is convenient and within walking distance from the train station.
- Andrea (6/5): - Close to the train station, no stairs so that is nice. You see a lot of people struggling with suitcases over the bridges. The bathroom window would not stay close, therefore letting some mosquitoes in. We kept the door shut to the bathroom to keep the bugs out so the bathroom was very hot because the air conditioning could not reach it. We managed, never complained because we were only there for 2 nights. If we stayed longer we would have needed a bigger place but this did okay for a quick in and out.
- Ara (10/5): - East check in , friendly staff.
- Jayantha (8/5): - Close to the train station and airport bus stop. Close to ferry stop also. Many places to eat. Hotel breakfast is limited. No kettle in the room. No Engligh TV channels. We paid for the breakfast separatly. Not included to room rates. Quiet area but we heard other guests coming ang going, talking, flushing toilets, even the turn on and off light switches.
- Abed (6/5): - Close to rail station, restaurants and city activities
- katemV569GW (10/5): The perfect spot to stay in Venice 🌎🇮🇹 - Hotel Guerrini was a fabulous place to stay while in Venice. The rooms clean, quiet and cool. It was a great location with a quick walk from the train station and bus station. The hotel lane way was like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Venice walkways. Staff super helpful and breakfast delicious. Highly recommend 🇮🇹🥂
- Brynt (10/5): - Great hotel! Spacious room
- Jignesh (10/5): Lovely hotel - Perfect room for a family of 4. Kids loved it.
- Norma Deyanira (10/5): - Loved it.
- ktibz (10/5): Great small hotel! - Great little hotel with a quaint breakfast and walking distance to everything. Front desk recommend a wonderful restaurant around the corner, great food great vibe. No pushy hostess outside trying to get you to dine which is all too common in Italy.
- 165genep (2/5): 0% - DO NOT RECCOMEND - I have traveled extensively in Italy (19 of 20 regions). I have never met people more rude and hostile as the people who own/run this hotel. The son of the owner bid me a farewell in the photo attached. A picture tells a thousands words. Horrible ambassadors for travelers to Venice. Sad...
- Helena (6/5): - It was very clean. Small shower space; a big person would not have been able to get in. No ice offered at this property, which would have been nice to have, since there was no fridge. No satellite TV, so all channels are Italian, and all English movies are dubbed with Italian voices. Dark panels over the windows, which makes the rooms very dark. Many buildings have these though. However, Venice was very lovely and charming.
- Kulbir (2/5): - Very money minded staff . I think it was family owned business. Long story short not worth it at all with$ 250 dollars.no mini refrigerator.very small shower. Bugs and mosquitoes all around …and many more
- Lovejeet (6/5): - Room and washroom is too small, be prepared to deal with mosquitoes because it is Venice
- Monica (10/5): - Very close to the train station and off the Main Street with plenty of dining options . The only thing I can say negative is they will only give you one key card. I got a sick belly and my young men wanted to go out for the evening. I had to get up late to go open the door for them because reception leaves at 10:30. I could not send the card with them because power to room shuts off without it. Very inconvenient.
- Deliana (10/5): - Very nice staff !!! We appreciated that all 4 beds were ready(with a little gift) when we arrived ! Normally in other hotels for a family of 4 we have to do the sofa bed ourselves !! Nice people !!
- 21arturoa (10/5): An affordable and confortable hitel in a privilege location. - After a week in a cramped cruise ship cabin, I had modest expectations for this hotel. But I was pleasantly surprised! Not only was it ideally located just a 5-minute walk from the train station and surrounded by restaurants and attractions, but it was also surprisingly comfortable. Our family of four enjoyed a spacious room with a queen-sized bed for my wife and me, and two single beds for our kids. The free WiFi was reliable, and the breakfast was a welcome bonus, comparable to what you'd find in local restaurants. The only minor hiccup was a non-functional TV, but with good internet, it wasn't a major issue. - Steve (10/5): Great base of operations. - Conveniently located. Just off Main Street but very quiet. Front desk staff were very helpful. Comfortable room. Shower is a little small for a 6’ 2” American dude.
- scarlettraveller17 (8/5): Very nice hotel, unfortunate power outage - The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are massive compared to anything else in Venice. The bathroom was also a good size and kept well stocked. The internet was fast and reliable which is rare. The breakfast is simple but very nice with plenty to choose from. The area is great, super close to the train station and to lots of amazing restaurants. My only complaint is that the power went out in the hotel and the whole street for about 12 hours. The hotel did provide lamps (a one up on lots of other hotels) and were very apologetic however it is something that seems to happen semi-regularly so is something to think about before booking in this area. If the worst was to happen you would at last be very well looked after at this hotel.
- Jennifer (10/5): A lovely hotel - I last stayed in Hotel Guerrini in 2015 and it is just as I remembered it. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and safe. I will stay here the next time im in Venice.
- Greg (10/5): - Comfortable and very clean. Staff warm and friendly and location very convenient
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fun quick stay - Quick Venice trip with friends, fell in love with the city, and the hotel offered some good but busy choices for restaurants. The hotel is nicely secluded in a little alley off of the main tourist street so it's central and easy to get to everything. No elevator cause it's a tiny hotel, so expect to carry every heavy souvenir up those steps.
- Maria (10/5): - Only the breakfast is yo late 8:00 am .
But is ok we have a lot area fir breakfast.
But is no the same when you have to leave early
- lovetravellinggggg (10/5): Perfect stay for a city break - A lovely, authentic Italian hotel.
We were greeted by a friendly and informative receptionist on arrival.
Our room was small but perfect for the two of us for three nights. It was super clean and the bed was very big and comfortable. We were worried about there being mosquitoes in the room but we did not experience seeing any. The only improvement would be to have more plug sockets as there were only two.
The hotel was in a great location. Not far from the coach station (15 min walk) and about 20/25 min walk to St Marks Square. There were lots of cafes, restaurants and shops right outside too!
- monkeywithsuitcase (8/5): Lovely quiet little corner of Venice at a good price! - Very conveniently located quiet corner of Venice with clean tidy basic rooms and renovated bathrooms at a good price with a simple breakfast included. We were very happy with our stay and definitely recommend it to others!
- Eskinder (10/5): - I would recommend for the people around me
- Iram (4/5): - There are lots of mosquitoes so if you’re having a plan to stay there don’t forget to take the mosquito protector with you and the mosquitos bites are huge very poisonous
- Lauren (10/5): - Great experience
- Ian (10/5): - Great family run hotel. Close to the railway station and Grand Canal. Within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars and sights.
Basic but spotlessly clean roon. Very friendly and helpful staff
- CHUCK (10/5): - Great place to stay for the money
- Mary (10/5): - The staff were all very friendly, the location was great, especially since we were there for a very short visit, and it was very clean.
- Roberto (10/5): - Close to metro stations
Receptionist very helpful
Safe, clean.
- Victor (10/5): - Very friendly staff from Reception Desk, Giorgia and Mauro in particular. They were very kind, informative, helpful in every aspect. ,,Grazie mille" to both of them. Good location of this property. Certainly would come back.
- Edmond (8/5): - Great location for the train station and for walking into central Venice.
- Nebilmamur (2/5): Thiefs! - Thiefs! My wife had a covid a day before our trip and they said they wont rebook us to a different date. I didnt even want a refund just wanted to change the dates. On top of that they didnt give us the money back either. They said come back to a different date and they will give us 20 percent discount. No thanks. Stay away. The other hotel in venice helped us change the dates with no problem or no additional money at all. Not our fault we had a covid and couldnt make it. Be aware from this hotel and book at your own risk.
- Mario (10/5): - Charming little hotel at comfortable walking distance to Santa Lucia train station and Piazzale Roma. Lively neighborhood. Ideal for an overnight stay in Venice. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Sharon (8/5): - Nice hotel. Close to the train station. Clean room.
- James (8/5): - Very close to the train station. Easy access to everything. Very noisy though, our third time there.
- Vityapria (6/5): Common bathroom - The common bathroom was not clean
- Patricia (10/5): - Great location, close to train station, which if you need has free covid testing, but be prepared for 3 hour wait.
- Rabindra (10/5): - Good for the price.
- GalPalRachel (6/5): Basic with a great location - The location is everything here! 5min walk from the train station which saves you having to drag your luggage along the cobbles and over the bridges! It is hidden just off a Main Street a bit tricky to spot at first. Very basic room and bathroom but clean.
WiFi did not always work. We were on the first floor so heard a lot of noise when people were arriving and leaving. A lot of mosquitoes managed to get into our room.
- 728wh (4/5): Great location, but unfriendly staff and room is infested with mosquitoes - I want to love the hotel but just can't!
Start off with the pros:
Location, location, location! The location is great as it's close to the main railway station and ferry. In Venice, you definitely want a place close to the train station. hauling suitcases and kids through the bridges and alleys is just not fun.
Now let's discuss the cons:
Room is dated, bathroom is small. The left the window open in our room and was infested with mosquitoes. I'm not talking two, three, five...... I'm talking double digits of room full of mosquitoes. You can't sleep at night. The kids got bitten so badly that we got up 1am and 3 am and killed an army of mosquitoes. It was horrible!
The next morning when we went to the front desk, they just offered an electrical plug-in that supposed to help to keep the mosquitoes away. We killed more the traditional way by hand the next night too.
In additional to the mosquito problem, the rooms are so close to each other that you'll hear people coming in and out through out the night slamming the door. Very hard to sleep.
Front desk staff are not the friendliest people. We have a late afternoon train and I was not all packed up in the morning so I asked if I could extend my checkout time. The normal checkout time is 11:00am. I know that in Europe, many of the small hotels don't offer it, so I asked only for 30 minutes so that I can take my time to pack, the front desk staff said NO, you can have 10 minutes and that's it! Thanks and no thanks!
Yes, I do like the location, but will NOT return to this hotel again. There are many options nearby.
- 44travel2015 (8/5): Great hotel in Venice - We found Hotel Guerrini excellent for our stay in Venice. It is located close to the railway station off a busy street in a quiet cul de sac. The rooms are modern and the sstaff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is outstanding.
- Peggy (10/5): - Location was great. Easy walking distance to train station, St. Mark's, Jewish Ghetto. Quiet - located just off main street. Wonderful staff. Great light breakfast.
- Helen (8/5): Lovely stay in Venice - Accommodation was clean but a little tired. We were on the first floor and there was noise from either other guests or from outside when we went to bed and when we woke up. Air conditioning didn't work. Reception staff very friendly. Breakfast sufficient.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel Has Seen Better Days
As an American, I know we are spoiled. However I have travelled a little in Europe and Amy comparing this hotel to those accommodations.
1. I may have missed the item in their description that said they don't have an elevator, because they don't have one. That would have been a deal breaker.
2. After seeing me struggle with my large suitcase and heavy backpack, you'd think the able-bodied young man at the front desk (there were two people, and they weren't busy) would have at least offered to help. No, he let me make two trips up,the stairs (fortunately to the second floor).
3. I would've liked to look outside. Unfortunately, my two windows had black metal shutters on the outside. When I looked through the crack, however, the courtyard below me was filled with trash. So, I gu SS it was a good think I couldn't look out.
4. My room was sweltering with no way to control the temp. When I asked , the answer was, basically, "oh well".
Other things like laminate chips on the doors and a leaky shower just tell me this hotel has seen better days. When I booked the room, it had 3 stars. I see now it's listed at 2 stars. Other people must agree with me.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff was not helpful at all, did not help my wife with baggage. Stayed for 2 nights room was not cleaned once. Very weak wifi if at all. Also no air conditioner. Things which the hotel had on Travelocity, were not lived up too. Terrible experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms are very basic. Breakfast was good. Staff was nice and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - You couldn’t ask for a better location...right beside the train station
- Robert (8/5): - Overall it was very good. I didn't realize there was no shower in the room when I booked it. A little disappointed in that. Breakfast was great though!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice , clean , centric with good breakfast!!! Close to the train station and Vaporetties
- Norwich63 (6/5): 2* Basic hotel - It is what it is and their prices reflect that.
We would not stay here again purely because their Wii fii was appalling would keep dropping off and our room was above reception.
Breakfast was basic but again for the price they charge was except able though it would have been nice if they had a toaster and a kettle for those tea drinkers as the drinks machine never quite has hot enough water for tea bags.
Room/bathroom small but clean with clean towels daily.
Shame that blankets are still being used on the beds and not more hygienic by using thin duvets.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the location, staff, and breakfast. Rooms are a bit dated. The showers are small, it was fine for us. Just a note, no elevator. We did not have much luggage. The tables outside are super cute... the hotel also has water for 1 euro and beer for less than 3 euros. We sat outside every evening. We would definitely stay at the hotel again!
- richlee1malta (10/5): lovely little hotel - this hotel is so handy for the train and bus station and with easy walking to the water taxi and water buses.
It is on a side street just of the main street, where there are lots of restaurants and shops
the hotel is one of the cleanest hotels Ive ever stayed in the staff are so helpful The breakfast was simple but plentyful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great choice helpful staff good location . ..... .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent location.
No lift.
Good breakfast with a lovely lady organising it all.
Noisy air conditioning.
- danbD2936FD (6/5): Close to busses and railway - Not the best but for the price it’s ok, our room was on the first landing of the stairs, we could hear every guest come and go, every door open and shut near us, also the walls are pretty thin so if you’re on a honeymoon be prepared for other guests to give you looks at breakfast!!! The breakfast is reasonable and basic (fill up on food there as you will be probably walking most of the day) make sure you have plenty of data on your phone as the WiFi is dismal (kicked on off frequently and reception is poor) and the toilet is the oddest design I’ve seen so far around the world (you pretty much doing a reverse kanga every time sitting normally “google reverse kanga if you don’t understand 😂😂)
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel looks very old and run down. They leave the windows open and mosquitos got in our room. Staff also not welcoming
- Verified traveler (2/5): - -Horrible WiFi
-Horrible AC unit, takes forever to cool down the room.
-Paper thin walls
-Dirty room (dusty floors, mildew on bathroom tile, marks on walls)
-No Iron/Board
-No ice
-No mini-fridge
-Also, you have to leave your key card at the front desk whenever you are leaving the hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Expensive. Room is old. Location is acceptable. Lowest std of all the B&B i stayed in italy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was close to arrive and departed and quite place
- ron gerald (8/5): Venice - It could be better except for that buzzing sound every 5minutes..can’t sleep
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location was good close to the train station. However a room that accommodated 3 people only had one outlet and that was located in the bathroom. To say the room was minimal and basic would be an understatement.
- peggy (10/5): Delightful stay in Venice - The stay here was amazing! What a lovely welcome to Venice:) the hotel was located close to the train station, but on a quiet little side street. The staff was very helpful and even loaned us a phone charger...but the best thing of all was the coffee maker!!!!! It made about 10 different kinds of coffee and I am fantasizing about it daily (usually in the morning). The place was clean and the breakfast in general was delicious....okay now I am fantasizing about the croissants:)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice quiet location in an alleyway/courtyard but close to a bustling vibrant area
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel for a quick stay in Venice, close to train station and Piazzale Roma. Room was clean with enough space for our family, A/C worked well, and the included breakfast was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - perfect location to train and easy to find. Very clean, cool and professional staff.
- Manuel (10/5): Nice location - Nice hotel with good service
Located close to Ferrovia
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like that the property was clean and close to dining, and shopping.
- Jesus (6/5): - Its ok for 1 or 2 nights very small
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Near railway station, plenty of restaurants nearby.
- Luisa Salas (8/5): Very convenient location in Venice - Place was clean and location is perfect, walking distance from train station, bus terminal and cruises people mover. On the not so positive side, there was only one outlet in the room and it was in the bathroom. For a cuatruple room, it was very limited.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are very helpful and friendly and the hotel is located
- Sian (8/5): Great location - Excellent location in a quiet area but just metres from the Grand canal. Didn’t realise when I booked but our room not en-suite ( in an old historic building) but the loo and showe were close by, so not a problem Excellent breakfasts
- Family (8/5): - Very clean. Huge bathroom. Lovely balcony. Better than expected.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We were very impressed with the cleanliness and lovely hot shower!!!
- Lulu (8/5): - Great location. Charming. Helpful staff. Good breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This property is very well located.
The only little issue we've had was with one person at the front desk in early morning as we ask if he could talk to us on the phone with the taxi company as we didn't understand what she was saying as she was speaking in Spanish and when we asked him it's like we were disturbing him while he was playing with his cell phone. I practically had to get upset for him to realize that we were not pleased at all with how he was treating us by ignoring us. Also, we asked the front desk if they could help us with the online check in for our plane tickets and they couldn't help us with their computer and also they're was no available computer for us to use besides that. They're should be a complimentary computer for guests to use.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is located well, in walking distance from the train and bus station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is very easy to find from the train station. It is just off the main street and is very quiet. The shared bathroom is very narrow.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice tucked away location. Very quiet at night. Shared washrooms were clean. No issues with leaving luggage by the front. Decent breakfast. Very small rooms. Last floor of stairs was very creaky. Great location close to the train station!
Overall a comfortable and convenient stay.
- inna (8/5): Cosy Hotel - In general we were very pleased with our stay in your cosy hotel, location is great, breakfast was frest and tasty.
The only flaw was that your young big handsome reception guys . At first they tried to place us on different floors saying that we had two separate bookings, only after we insisted that two rooms were in one booking, they placed us together. Then they refused to help us (three elderly ladies - 71, 66 and 54) with suitcases to the fisrt floor, though i had a broken shoulder. They were very indifferent to customers.
I think they ought to be friendlier, they are the face of your hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was good. Very close to water and train transportation. I like a lot this hotel
- Sharon (10/5): - Close to the train and friendly.
- Ruta (10/5): - Nuce hotel in perfect location for a good price.
- Kevin (10/5): - Great stay, the room was just as described and the staff was very friendly!
- Kalle (10/5): - Very clean hotel, recently renovated. Good breakfast, affable personal.
- Dan (10/5): Nice hotel and great location. - Quiet alley off main street. Friendly and helpful front desk. Let us check in at 10:30am. Very easy walk from train station with rolling suitcases. Great local shops, food and location. Room was very nice and felt very safe and secure.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The overall rating was ok but it could be better of threy would of exactly mention the price wouldn't include breakfasts
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very handy location to the train station.
- Roció (8/5): - Good location within walking distance to San Lucia Train Station and Cruise Terminal. Rooms could use some updating but it is was priced within our budget and we saved on taxi and vaporettos. Rode the bus from Piazza de Roma to Marco Polo Airport for only 8 Euros.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth the koney - We spent 2 weeks in Europe and this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at. You would think this means it was the best however the hotel was loud, we could hear every word the rooms next to us were saying. The ac barely worked in the heat of Venice and the bed was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever laid on
- Kathleen (8/5): - The only negative response I can think about was the loud noice the doors make when shut.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location! Location! Location! it was close enough to train station and bus station(for airport) to drag around your own luggage. it is on the main path you take to San Marcos area. Rooms were simple, small but clean. The AC didnt seem to cool the room, but that seemed to be normal throughout all of italy. Location allowed us to go shopping and stop in room to drop off bags and use restroom instead of public restrooms in area. One thing to point out is the breakfast- only rooms booked in the main building include breakfast. We were taken across the hall but it was not an issue.
- limor (10/5): Central location next to santa Lucia - Great location in Venice .
Great small clean place .quiet
- Peter (6/5): You get what you pay for - Air conditioning was ineffective
Wifi also inconsistent
- stephen (10/5): Charming - This hotel is charming. Met the owner who is third-generation at this site. When I booked I was concerned about the safety of the area, but found this was a great vibrant location for getting around Venice.
- Carlos (8/5): Venice for two - Nice and clean place just one block away from one of the busy Venice canals. Our alley was quiet though.
