- Kris (2/5): - The pictures were very deceiving, it made the room seem larger. There was almost no floor space on the first level with the 2 single beds taking up the space. The spiral stairs to the second level were damaged and unsafe. The loft ceiling was only 5 ft high except in the far corner. There was also no airconditioning, there were a few fans, but not enough plugs to operate them. We only stayed one night and then found somewhere else to stay despite the stay being non refundable
- Justin (10/5): - This hotel is within quick walking distance to the Metro and near the terrific walking boulevard to enjoy the best of being in Paris. The room itself is pretty basic (no wall hangings) and the usual Parisian small, but we were comfortable. We were able to use the elevator. The staff family were very friendly and attentive to our questions and needs and great to get to know. They will collect your room key when you go out each time and return it when you get back. While we were there, there was a movie being filmed right outside and we had to go around at times to not disturb the footage.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - The only good thing about this hotel was the proximity to the subway and bus stop. And the woman at the front desk was very nice. Other than that, it was pretty disappointing. The halls are tiny, dark and dingy. The musk of old carpets hits you as soon as you get off the elevator. The room was also tiny and in desperate need of an upgrade and a good carpet shampoo. I’d never suggest anyone I like to book a stay here

Also within walking distance (or a short ride, depending on health) of a park and a charming pedestrian-only row of restaurants with various cuisines. Rooms are large. Elevator is great help. Hosts of this boutique hotel (18 rooms, I think) are very friendly and helpful. Refrigerator in room.

- Lucie (10/5): Friendly, Cozy and Comfortable - The staff are welcoming and accomodating as soon as you walk through the door. As my flight arrived well before check in the offer of secure luggage storage made it easy to explore the city for the morning. The room itself was clean and the bed ridiculously comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to any traveller not wanting to spend a fortune on accomodation but wanting easy transport access to the city.
- Jason (8/5): Cute, quaint little Parisian hotel. - Bed was wonderful, as were the proprietors. The shower curtain didn't extend all the way around the tub, and that meant you had to be careful when using the shower. But just be careful, and you're fine. With the window open a bit on a lovely late-autumn Paris night, it was a wonderful place to get all my Zzzs.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible bed. Was rock hard, and sloped so badly a bag, for example, slid straight off the bed. No towel some days, no soap some days, just a poor experience.
- Pooja (4/5): Leaving was a relief - The hotel is well situated and is in close proximity to the metro. The surrounding area is very lively. However, the room itself is not very clean, doesn't look like it's ever been swept, it is very dusty and the beds have bugs. The maids almost always forget(or neglect ?) to make the bed and replace the towels. The bathroom windows are transparent. Hot water is a problem in the upper floors - you're sure to waste around 5 minutes of running water before actually getting hot water. Be very careful not to leave your things lying in the room when you go out - the maids do not hesitate to look into your stuff and take whatever they want and the hotel takes no responsibility. The only advantages are that it's a cheap hotel and it is well situated.

- Jocelyn (8/5): Great value for money and location - Excellent value.. It was very quiet and close to everything. The metro was only 2 minutes walk away as was the bus stop for the Gare de Lyon. I had a front room which was very light and I think it was the quietest small hotel that I have stayed at in Paris, no noise from outside (or inside) at all. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I slept like a log. Would highly recommend. The hot water took a bit long to warm up for the shower but that was OK.
- Phillip (6/5): Basic hotel convenient for Austerlitz station - Due to train strike I was stuck in Paris and found this room at short notice (2 metro stops or 20 min walk from Austerlitz). Hotel is a bit run down but concierge was helpful and gave good advice finding restaurants nearby. I must have had last room, 6th floor attic, with 3 beds but no desk, chair or kettle. Free wifi was dreadful - required registration which froze my mobile phone and took 3 reboots and deletion of connection information to work again so did not risk with PC!

I didn't have a chance to try breakfast (had meetings) but somehow I didn't feel inclined either. Because it's a bit older, the rooms are more spacious than one would expect but the tv is miniscule"

- Verified traveler (6/5): Economy hotel, old school - The place is close enough to the action of Paris, but a little way's off the beaten path--so it's a bit quieter in the neighborhood. Unfortunately the early check-in request was not honored, but they did allow me to drop off luggage so I could get around without looking like a total tourist! The staff speak VERY little English FWIW and my pigeon-French got me checked in without any real hassle. They take payment for the entire stay at check-in, so if there's a problem, I think it would be difficult to settle accounts if you decide to leave earlier than planned. Room-wise, it's ok. the top floor have mezzanine double beds and a single bed on the entry level, as the bathroom. The windows open out and let in a cool breeze which is nice, but cigarette smoke will enter (as it happens in France.) The only issue that I have is that it's a hotel that still uses metal KEYS and you have to drop them off at reception when you leave. One time I came back and my door was left UNLOCKED by the staff. A serious no-no, unfortunately. I wish they would update to key-card locks and it would feel more secure. I had the misfortune of the maid entering the room when I was trying to tell her in my pigeon-French that no service was needed (even though the key was in the lock on the inside.) So, it's ok, but not much more.
- Laurel (8/5): Great little hotel - Great little hotel. We needed a place close to Austerlitz, metro, and airport connections - this was perfect. It's just around the corner from the Air France bus stop and a taxi stand. Lots of nearby good restaurants/cafes which open early and serve until late. The staff was wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Even though our room overlooked the street, it was very quiet. Beds were comfortable. The only criticism would be that the room could have been a bit cleaner - but overall it was very good. Would definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent Inexpensive Hotel. - Media Hotel is a small (boutique) hotel that is inexpensive by Paris standards. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It is a block and a half from a Metro station. It has cafes and shops nearby. It's quiet. It isn't near any of the monuments or museums. But, they are all accessible by train. With stops, it takes roughly 25 minutes to get to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre or Arc de Triumphe. The Staff is very friendly. It helps if you speak some French. They do speak a little English. The room is clean, everything worked. The shower doesn't have the best layout. The shower isn't completely enclosed and the drape doesn't wrap completely around. There is a removable shower head with handle. Because of the orientation of the holder you will get water all over the floor is you turn it on and leave it in the holder. So you're holding the shower "wand" the entire time. For a trip to Paris on a budget I recommend it. If you want a premium room you're going to pay a premium Paris price.
- Martin (4/5): Value for money bed in good location (13eme) - I wanted a dead cheap bed over the weekend and got away with €45 per night on very short notice. Good value in Paris! No complaint at all. It's just a budget place and those are not that comfortable. The room had seen it's best days but was clean and quiet. The lamp over the bathroom mirror did not work. I didn't bother to comment to the front desk.
- John (6/5): reasonable hotel at a reasonable price for the loc - Perfectly adequate as a place to sleep at reasonable cost in Paris. Quiet and safe area close to Metro and within walking distance of Latin Quarter. I did not try the breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints.

- Cesar (8/5): Good buy if you're on a budget. - For the price it was a good buy. It was really hot in Paris at the time but they did provide a fan to help with the heat. I slept with the window open and once the temperature went down at night it wasn't so bad. If you are on a budget then it is worth it, but if you can afford it upgrade because the bed was soooo uncomfortable. I have back issues so it was hard to sleep. If you're in good health then you might be able to put up with the bed.
- M (4/5): Good location but bad hotel - This hotel has a good location, being close to the metro, restaurants and supermarkets. However, the rooms are old and have not been maintained. Cracked bathtubs and toilet seats. The rooms also smell, but opening the window helps with that.

- P y L (8/5): Nice hotel, centrally located. - The hotel was good for the price they offered. Confortable, well located, quiet. It's a good deal. However, the receptionist on the night of our stay was rude.

- James (6/5): Used towel were not changed but refolded for reuse - In general, the hotel is ok, though everything is old. It is relatively clean. However, one thing surprised us. On last Saturday afternoon, when I was going to have a bath, I found that all the towels on the shelf were kind wet. They were used in the previous day and were re-folded and placed there. It was very disgusting! We have three people and the towels were piled on the floor after used. I talked to the front desk and demanded them to replace with clean towels. They complied.
- Madeleine (8/5): Great location, sub par hotel - The hotel looked absolutely nothing like the photos that were given. The front desk was friendly enough but we didn't feel comfortable asking them much aside from where our room was. They took towels from our bathroom every day to clean but didn't replace them. I saw a roach one night-but figure maybe that's to be expected in Paris. Television in the room didn't work and they kept doing construction on their own building very early in the morning even though guests were sleeping. It wasn't a bad stay but I'd probably look elsewhere next time.
- Katie (2/5): terrible hotel with rude staff - The staff was so awful and rude to us. They offered us no help at all with directions or advice and often would blatantly ignore us or not be present at all. The room was gross and smelled bad. We had no clean towels or shampoo or any soap or anything. I am almost positive the sheets were not cleaned either. When I told the staff I wanted a refund he left and sent in someone else who "spoke no English" and of course didn't help. DO NOT stay here.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel Midieval - Overall I was not impressed. I stayed at the Media with my wife and daughter for two days. We were not greeted friendly by the receptionist. They were not helpful when it comes to solving the tricky situation of parking your car and trying to avoid a ticket in Paris. The room was mediocre. Cleanliness wise it was ok, but the heater was not working properly. Instead of accomodating us in a diffrent room, all we received was a tiny electrical heater. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy. Lots of drunks who also don't refrain from relieving themselfs urinating on our car in brought daylight.
- Orion (8/5): Good location, clean, reasonable budget hotel - Decent amount of space in our family room for 4 by comparison with some other tiny Parisian rooms I have stayed in, helped by mezzanine with double bed, above 2 singles for our children. Good bathroom, inc bath and shower. Minimal and basic furniture, but a full-size new fridge. Our bed didn't look anything like the main pic beside the hotel profile, but was OK. Windows just had nets to 2/3 way down - would have preferred curtains, or at least full length nets, when undressing! Nice neighbourhood: a few noisy drunks late on Fri night but otherwise pretty quiet and felt safe. Useful to have late night/early morning access (esp in a city hotel). Handy location: metro station just around corner, or could walk to Notre Dame in 25 mins - via the charming Rue Mouffetard, and through the Latin quarter, past the Pantheon, Sorbonne, and other interesting spots. Didn't try breakfast (found out a bit late that you have to order and pay for it the night before), but used an excellent boulangerie on corner with Ave des Gobelins, and some local cafes inc Le Reveil Matin - friendly staff. Note: mezzanine reached by narrow spiral staircase with sloping roof above it, so not suitable for very young children or those with mobility or flexibility problems.

- flora (4/5): Cheap hotel - Staff does not speak English nor Spanish therefore if u have a complaint to make it is a waste of time trying to express it. U will get nowhere. We left 2 hand towel which felt into the toilet, as the towel rail was above the toilet, wet in the bathtub and next day on the floor but the maids insisted on hanging them back again folded wet on the towel rail. They were disgusting. Only good thing about the hotel was that was a minute walking from the tube.

But the rooms, and especially the carpets, need to be updated. My suggestion: get rid of carpet and replace with tiles that are easier to keep clean.

Overall great choice for great price. The surrounding streets full of shops and little coffee shops. Food market was very near by. Close to the metro station!

As a family of 4 (2 adults and young teens) we liked the loft set up as it gave us a bit more space. the facilities were very clean and comfortable. Great local supermarket and nice eating locally (recommend the nearby Italian place). Wifi is free.

- McScot (8/5): Great location for the value - This hotel was as expected based on trip-advisor. Bed was comfortable & room was clean. No safe in room. Nearby shops and restaurants (low to mid price range). Quick ride on Metro from Les Gobelins to Pont Neuf. Hotel staff unhelpful about parking but SatNav found three parking garages within 0.5 km - the secure one on Rue Abel Hovelacque was fine (closed after about 11pm, open at 8am) but cash only (17Euro/day). We did not take "petit dejeuner" at the hotel - machine-coffee in the lobby.

- Murray (6/5): Spartan, Small but Its Paris - Room was quite small and there were really no amenities but it suited our needs as a place to sleep. Requires some walking to get to metro and even more were you to attempt to walk to many of the tourist attractions around the Seine.
- CB74 (6/5): The Foyer is awful but the rooms are OK. - Felt very deflated on arriving at the hotel as the foyer is awful looking and horribly kitsch and smells of smoke. Nothing like the pictures. They had mismanaged our booking so only provided a double bed when we wanted twins- the solution was a fold out for one night and separate rooms the second. They did try to fix the problem. ( if you want a twin or double when booking you must email that in separately). Aside from that the rooms are clean and comfortable the area is safe and it is very close to the Metro and the staff did try to be helpful. It is reasonably priced and shower water pressure is good. No secure room to leave luggage- leave it with them in the reception area- when we arrived about 10 bags all over the place.
- Julie Ford (6/5): Family visit to Paris - We did not realize the hotel did not have air conditioning and the day of arrival was hot....27 degrees. We had the doors open to the balcony for a little bit of air flow, but were kept awake until the wee hours from people partying on the street. It was nice to have a fridge for cold drinks. The room is in need of a detailed cleaning. There is black scum in the tub, on the side of the bathroom vanity, around the sink that I could take off just by rubbing it with a Kleenex, yet it looks like its been there a very long time. The walls and washroom could all use a good day of scrubbing and cleaning. That was a disappointment for what we paid and were accustomed to. The unit did have new flooring that was clean. There were various areas in the bathroom and hotel room that could be suspect for mold. There are two desk people. The older gentlemen was super kind and helpful, whereas the younger of the two was not the friendliest in the least. He did not seem interested in ensuring we had an enjoyable stay at all. It is a shame as the hotel is in a good location. It is also unfortunate that neither of them spoke English very well. With some TLC and the one desk person caring more, the place could be good. I also found it interesting that they insisted we leave our room key at the front desk whenever we went out. They then had a sign on the back of the door the room that they could not be held responsible if anything went missing from the room.
- Rita (4/5): Not the worst, but I would not recommend this plac - My expectations were low as it was high season in Paris and paying high prices was not an option. Still I have stayed in far better places for that price. The hotel is run by a family and some are far nicer than others. We were a family of four put in a room that was definitely meant for no more than two. We had issues getting our suitcases in as there was no space between the extra cots (that fell apart if you tried sitting on them) that were placed there. Perhaps there were better larger rooms, but ours was tiny. Super hot but they did provide a fan and the fridge worked some of the time atleast. The hotel is on a side street but we quickly learned that teenagers gather just across the street each night and it is LOUD. The options were to have windows open to allow for some cool air and endure the noise or close windows and have a sweat box but some quiet. The only time we spent at the hotel was when we slept so the fact that we could not sleep was unfortunate.

- Jennifer (8/5): Interesting hotel, close to a metro stop. - Not an exciting hotel but to be expected for the price. There were 4 of us and we had a loft with a double bed and two singles in the main room. One needed to be in good shape to make it up the spiral staircase to the loft. Excellent bakery down the street. Neighbourhood felt safe. Wasn't overly convenient to the sights - nothing in walking distance and had to change lines at least once but always less than 30 min to get there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse hotel I have been - It is a very old hotel and very small .The room is small without air conditioner and without any confort we didn't have space for nothing , the bathroom has mold.The hotel is expensive,the staff is ok but they don't speak to much english ..I don't recomend this hotel should be some one much better,I never will comeback.

If you want to walk and walk in Paris and get too tired to sleep. This hotel well. Do not pay for breakfast ... it's horrible

- karencat (10/5): Great hotel at a great price. - Close to metro stop. Great bakery and corner market at end of street. Nice hotel staff printed out our tennis tickets despite having to negotiate our usa software but was nice as can be till both computers printed off our tickets. Comfortable beds and probably the largest bathroom I have had in any French hotel. Great long window(doors) that opened up onto the street to view Paris suburbs at its best.
- Nikki (6/5): Rude staff but cute maisonette - I believe it's a family run hotel however they're all a bit rude. I turned up straight from the airport a few hours before check in. I asked if I could store my bag there and they literally pointed to a corner of the small reception area. So with all valuables still on me I took off to explore. It's a good location near Les Gobelin metro stop. However saying its Latin quarter is a push. The wifi was good but annoyingly had to log in everyday. Once I could check in I had a shower but no hot water. Apparently during the day you have to run the water for 20mins before it gets hot.

- Dave (2/5): Typical Awful French Service - From the second I arrived, I felt like the people who worked at this hotel could not have cared less if I was there or not. The first guy (with glass) was grumpy and must have read "How To Lose Friends And Alienate People" instead of "How To Win Friends And Influence People". The key they give you might as well be an anchor. The room was freezing cold the first night. When I told reception about this, they acted shocked as if it was my problem. After the mafia style assistants looked at the heater and realized it was not working, they gave me a crummy little space heater. To logon to wi-fi, I had to go all the way down to reception as they could not be bothered to tell me over the phone or leave clear instructions. The TV was difficult to use so again I had to go to reception. When I left, I saw the guy with glasses again. He hardly looked at me and when I handed him the key, he said, leave it on the top. He didn't even take it from me and instead gave me some classic French customer service. When I asked him if there was anything else I had to do before checking out, he used mocking English to say "bye bye, see you" whilst pointing at the door and not even looking at me. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoying being made to feel like junk by French people.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Hotel for Price - For the price, the hotel and location was great. No frills, but there was a mini refrigerator and mini TV. Hotel is close to metro and major supermarkets. Room was large for European standards with decent bed and bath. Good neighborhood, felt safe late at night. Great bakery on the way to the Les Gobelins metro stop on the 7 line, which was about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Nice restaurants/cafes in neighborhood as well. Cons: (1) Thin walls! Could hear baby crying in room next door and conversations when they were leaving/arriving. Not good in the middle of the night or if you're trying to sleep in, so bring earplugs just in case. (2) Free Wifi, but you have to enter an email address so am now dealing with Spam.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Paris Weekend Trip - I was absolutely disappointed in my stay at this hotel. I have been overseas for a couple of years and know to expect different things than what I was used to... Parking was non existent as he area is all privatized because of the apartment buildings. The hotel room was absolutely cramped. Check we can deal with that. There was standing water in the sink of the restroom. The 5th bed a foldaway fell apart when we first sat on it. It looked like the room had been put together hastily before we got there. There was a spiral staircase that led up to a loft with a full size bed. The railing on the staircase was falling apart. At night we found out that there was a bar that was right below us and made it nearly impossible to sleep. In the morning we woke at 730 and found that there was no hot water to shower with. Brrrrr! We dressed and found that there was finally hot water near 1000. I would say that I expected more. I did learn that I will stick with known hotel names.

They were by no means accommodating at all. Refused to show us the room unless we paid and generally did not appreciate the customers. The TV did not work in the room and for the price, the room was poor. Only compliment was that the shower worked and the beds were comfortable.

- Tamsin (10/5): Great value for good location- woman traveller - After I booked this hotel I read bad reviews and got so nervous I tried to find somewhere else, but I found it excellent value. I'm not sure what some people expect for such good rates in Paris! Room was clean and comfortable, including bed, and bathroom which was quite big. Reception staff really friendly and made me feel safe and welcome. Bought my breakfast from the boulangerie/patisserie at the end of the street. Some reviews made me a bit nervous about travelling back to the hotel on my own at night but I felt very safe, seems like a nice neighbourhood with plenty of people still around at night, and hotel very close to Metro station. Better than other hotels I have stayed in in Paris, and for lower rates. A good find, I would definitely go back.

The reception staff were quite rude also. And having an appartment on the 6 rg floor with bk air conditioning was quite stifling.

- Jason B (2/5): Terrible... Le Terrible - Hotel reception were rude (husband/wife act by the looks of it). Wifi is chargeable and slow even then. Bathroom had cracking walls and paint and was pretty disgusting. Saving grace was that the matress was actually very, very comfortable. Upon checking out, the husband/wife act had their family in and were eating tapas on the chairs in reception. So as a guest, waiting for my taxi I couldn't sit down... Very odd, very unprofessional.
- Neil (8/5): Very nice place to stay - We stayed there for 5 nights and the staff there were fantastic. They were very accomodating to our needs, especially in providing things such as power adapters, and even an umbrella when it was raining. The room was an OK size, bigger than London, but still relatively small. Very close, only a 2 min walk, to the closest Metro station. We found it very easy to get around Paris from this hotel. Plenty of patisseries in the area as well as a laundromat and supermarket. We would stay there again for sure.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Media Mishap - The Staff was rude and unhelpful, our door could not be opened from the outside and we were told it was not a problem just to leave the door open while we were out tell it could be fixed. The door did get fixed but the room had mildew, the heater was broken, the television did not work and we were in a non smoking room on a smoking floor... everything smelled strongly of smoke.

The beds, towels and toilet were clean. The room was quiet and we relaxed, it also has a minibar fridge to have some drinks. I would definitely stay here again, it is so close to the underground and has fast access to the Latin Quarter.

- Young (6/5): Reasonable and fair - At 65 Euros/night one cannot complain. Hotel Media was acceptably clean. That is, the floors and tables could have been cleaner but the sheets and bath were clean. The hotel provides soap, shampoo/bathwash, etc. The hot water is ample (more than you can say for some hotels in this price range). Hotel Media is very 70's in feel--not that it tries recreate a 70's style, it's that everything dates from that time. The proprietors were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast at 6 Euros is fair and will save you time. The neighbourhood is very convenient to shops, cafes and the metro stop.
