Comfortable and clean rooms in a very quiet location as it is across from a beautiful park, but with a short and easy walk to the metro. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. They even made a reservation for us at the next door restaurant, Etchegorry, when we informed them we arrive early near lunchtime. The restaurant, by the way, is a real gem, great food at a fair price. Actually, the staff at both the hotel and restaurant are so friendly and welcoming that we'd feel guilty if we didn't stay with them in a future trip to Paris.

We would definitely return, although a greater choice of breakfast items would be welcome. There is also the lovely Auberge Etchegorry attached nextdoor to the hotel - also recommended.

• gjeannedt (10/5): Lovely Boutique Hotel with Garden in a Calm Area - I really enjoyed my stay at Le Vert Galant! The hotel staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, and the hotel features a nice garden with beautiful flowers and lounge chairs, in a calm and pleasant area of Paris. My room was on the ground floor and opened onto the garden which was really lovely. The room could probably use a bit of updating but it was overall comfortable and clean, and the room cleaning staff did a great job every day. I also tried the breakfast one morning and was very happy with the selection, excellent food quality and service. The hotel is in a good location not far from Les Gobelins and Place d'Italie, but the street itself that it is on is calm and it borders a quiet park.

• TonyA226 (10/5): Comfortable and relaxed holiday week. - After searching for hotel at a reasonable price in a quiet area of Paris I booked for a week at the Vert Galant. It fulfilled all my expectations with its relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, very clean rooms, excellent breakfast and quietly attentive and intuitive service from both Melanie and Fathia. Their awareness of our needs was both intuitive and constant. I soon learnt that other guests who were experienced travellers were return clients. Always a good sign. I'd already placed this hotel on my permanent hotel list. Good shops are a short walk away and even though this hotel is not extremely central to Paris the nearest metro stop provides quick access to major sites and areas.

• debpierce720 (10/5): Le Vert Galant was our home in Paris - Le Vert Galant was a great "find" for us -- a very comfortable family-run hotel in the 13th arrondissement, close to two Metro stops and an excellent shopping and dining district. There are no tourist draws in this area, just places that everyday Parisians frequent, and that is exactly what we were looking for on this trip. Our room was spacious, one of the largest we've ever had in Paris, with a very useful kitchenette. The refrigerator and microwave allowed us to deal with the now American-sized portions that French restaurants seem to be serving, which we can no longer handle. Further, we could have breakfast in our room every day (instead of enjoying croissants at a cafe, sigh). The staff were wonderful and welcomed us very warmly. We felt at home here and would come back. This is a great place, especially for a long-term stay.

• Leslie (6/5): - The pictures of the hotel were not accurate. The garden was not at all like it appeared in the photos. The mirror in the bedroom was broken and our fridge did not work. Even though we told them, it was not fixed in the 4 days we were there. They did let us use their fridge but there was limited space. The staff, however, was very nice, helping us get directions to places and figuring out the metro. The hotel was a little inconvenient in little street away from restaurants and stores. It was quiet though and the metro was a 5-10 minute walk.
• Marco (4/5): - old structure, the walls are very thin, you can hear everything from the neighbors, but the unacceptable thing is that it doesn't have air conditioning, you couldn't sleep due to the heat, you sweat at night, it's not acceptable that in 2023 it doesn't have the air conditioners.

• Janine (10/5): - Wonderful hotel in a charming, less-explored part of Paris. The staff was tremendously helpful. We arrived at 6 am and they allowed us to use a room until ours was ready. They went above and beyond in helping us get an appointment that we needed. Beautifully decorated rooms not too far from the metro with a shopping mall several blocks away that had everything one could possibly need. Truly outstanding hotel.
• Yvonne (10/5): - Ein sehr nettes kleines Hotel in ruhiger Gegend. In unmittelbarer Nähe gute Restaurants. Metro nur ein paar Minuten entfernt. Man kann auch sehr gut zu Fuß die Gegend erkunden. Der Empfang im Hotel war super freundlich. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit und geben gute Tipps für Unternehmungen. Die Tiefgarage direkt beim Hotel ist super. Wir hatten das Auto drei Tage nicht gebraucht und es war sicher abgestellt.

• Laura (10/5): - This family-owned, small hotel has a garden in back and a park in front. The room was comfortable and clean. Walking distance to two metro stations. The street itself doesn't have much in the way of services but the surrounding neighborhoods have cafes, restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, boulangeries, etc. The staff were all very gracious. I was disappointed that the Basque restaurant was closed for renovations but hope to try it when I come back!

• Doreen (10/5): - For the price this is a great basic hotel. We stayed for 7 nights, very peaceful with rooms facing the interior garden. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. The restaurant run by the owners is Basque and well known. Three metro stations are within 5 - 10 minutes walk and an award winning boulangerie on Blvd Auguste Blanchi. The Buttes-aux-Cailles is a happening neighbourhood with lots of restaurants about 10 minutes walk. We would happily stay there again.

We took the optional breakfast which was simple and set us up for the day. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed including an excellent shower in the spotless bathroom. Unfortunately wet weather kept us from using the garden but it was a little oasis among the buildings. We also ate excellent food in the attached restaurant. We really hope to return as we appreciated it all so much.

Definitely recommend staying here.

• COlynnezee (10/5): Shabby Chic Perfection in Paris - This little slice of heaven was exactly what I was looking for! The people running the hotel couldn't have been more kind and welcoming, and my room was cozy and sweet. The place isn't new and modern (there's no A/C, however, that was no issue in late May/early June), but that wasn't what I was looking for. My room opened right onto the most beautiful small garden I can imagine and I slept with my door open each night so that I could enjoy the cool air and the scent of the honeysuckle that was growing on the trellis outside. The bed was nice and soft, the hot water plentiful, and I had everything that I needed and wanted. The breakfast (12 Euros) was delicious and served in a serene atmosphere, overlooking the magical garden. Fresh croissants (baked in-house), breads, jams, boiled eggs, cheeses, freshly squeezed orange juice, and cafe au lait really hit the spot each morning starting at 7am. There is a wonderful city park just across the street, where you will see residents of the community exercising, meeting with friends, or just sitting and enjoying the birdsong late in the evening. You are close to two metro stops, making it very easy to travel around Paris by metro, and there are scads of restaurants and other things nearby along the Avenue de Gobelins. There was some sort of work happening nearby during the day that produced noise, but I was out seeing Paris, so this didn't inconvenience me in the slightest. In any case, there is construction work happening all over Paris right now in preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games, so it's probably unavoidable, and the nights were very quiet for sleeping. Overall, I don't think I could have found a more ideal and quintessential Parisian hotel experience. I would highly recommend Hotel Le Vert Galant!

• Julie (10/5): Un sejour tres sympa - A cosy hotel, simple, with a discrete elegance and comfortable - the bed I slept in was very good. I had lunch at the restaurant once and the food was very well cooked. The staff and hotel owner were very attentive and friendly. The garden adds up a lot. I would just recommend making some works here and there, the room might need a little wall painting but all in all, I had a great stay and would certainly come back!

The hotel main door is locked at night or when there's no one at the reception and some times it takes time to find someone to open the door. It was a bit cold in the room, they gave us a hitter but they took it from the room the day after without asking.

Not very far from the Latin Quarter, close to several metro stations, yet it's a quiet oasis from the City with its bucolic garden and cozy, comfortable rooms. It's not luxurious, and the bathrooms could use updating, but we felt like we were visiting a gracious relative while we were staying here. And that's the other nice thing about Le Vert.....the staff are really, genuinely gracious, especially the lovely Ingrid who took very good care of us from the time we arrived to when we left 4 days later. The breakfast offers ample choices for 12euro and is served in the very charming restaurant.

• 342richardb342 (10/5): Your quintessential 'hidden gem' - We booked a week stay on the basis of the good TA reviews and this lovely little gem of a hotel proved to be an absolute delight. We had a spacious, airy room overlooking the well-kept garden. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the neighbourhood quiet. Staff were cheerful and always helpful. Breakfast option may seem a bit dear but it is worth it, and you get to have your breakfast in the charming restaurant that is connected to the hotel. It might seem out of the way, but in fact it is just a short walk from two different metro stations. As far as we are concerned we have found our 'home away from home' in Paris and this will probably prompt us to get over (from the UK) more frequently.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Overview of hotel and the area around - I was staying in this hotel to be close to an event I have attended in Paris . Itbis a very residential quiet area . Hotel is small but my room on 2 Nd floor was big and very nice ! You have refrigerator in the room , can ask for a kettle , cups etc . There is a nice small restaurant right here as part of hotel . Basic breakfast is very convenient or I was offered a free cup of coffee couple times I stopped in . Hotel is 5-10 mins away from Metro lines 5,6,7 . You can get to all major sights under 45 mins . Metro is running real well and 2-3 mins waiting times . There is a small bakery like a block away and some other restaurants a few blocks away ... Stuff in hotel is very friendly !! They also can arrange a shuttle to airports and price is like 3 times cheaper than taxi . So , if you want nice but affordable place in a peaceful area of Paris , I would highly recommend this hotel .

• Celia (8/5): Attractive, quiet hotel in a pleasant part of Pari - Le Vert Galant is an established unpretentious family hotel with a delightful interior garden to which the ground floor rooms have access. The bedrooms are of good size, with table space and easy chairs. Our room had a lavatory separate from the bathroom, which was good. The staff are friendly and don't bother you. Next door is the excellent sister restaurant. I have stayed here before and would happily do so again.
