• Bess71 (10/5): Lovely and quiet boutique hotel in a wonderful location. - My daughters and I had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. The rooms are updated, well appointed, and very quiet. We could not hear any noise from the street. The location is convenient and a short walk to the metro. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is clean and updated, the decor is chic. Breakfast was included with our stay. It was delicious and had many options. We especially enjoyed the Nespresso machine available throughout the day when we needed a little caffeine boost. The hotel was very accommodating and had our room ready early on the day of our arrival. We appreciated having a nap (after our long sleepless flight) and were ready to explore Paris! Finding a moderately priced room in Paris to comfortably sleep 3 ladies isn’t easy but Hotel Le Royal exceeded my expectations. Merci beaucoup to the friendly staff!

• DarylT234 (8/5): Comfortable base to explore the city - Hotel Le Royal Rive Gauche is a small hotel located in the Montparnasse area of Paris. Located about an hour away from the airport by car (or an hour and half in traffic), the hotel is nestled on a street surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. The Eiffle Tower is about a 45 minute walk from the hotel and it is a good base to be able to explore the City whilst also having everything you need in the proximity to the hotel. The hotel is clean and tidy with small but comfortable rooms. Breakfast is a contents, self serve set up and provides a basic breakfast to fuel your day. If you can and are able, you will walk a lot around Paris (we did about 35000 steps in one day) so make sure you have a decent breakfast and make time for lunch. You enter the hotel from the main street and walk into a reception area on the left with a lounge off to the right and the breakfast dining area towards the back right of the ground floor. There is a small lift to the right of reception should you need it. When you check in, you will be given an electronic key card and the times for breakfast. Opening the door to our room left me very impressed. It was clean, it was tidy and it was cosy. As you entered the room the bathroom (with a bath and a shower in) with the main room off to the right. There was a TV, a fridge, a desk and seat, a built in wardrobe and a double bed. There were USB and standard sockets to one side of the bed and the lights can be controlled by switches either side of the bed as well as the main strip. There is information on the desk about the local area and possible excursions. In the bathroom there was adequate towels as well as plastic glasses, hand-wash and shower gel. The bathroom was large and roomy with enough space to get comfortably changed. The toilet was in the bathroom but in its own space. Downstairs, opposite reception is a nice and comfortable lounge that provided a nice space to sit and watch the world go by in the warmth. There is free WiFi at the hotel and information is provided on check in. All the staff we met were polite, happy and helpful and we had a lovely two nights there. From the hotel we were able to walk to the Eifle Tower, the Arc De Triumpth, the Louvre, the Champs Elsees and Notra Dame so it served as a great base. Tip: Make sure you have drinks to take to your room as there is no tea and coffee making facilities. Montparnasse is a great area to be in and it combines Parisian bars and restaurants with Worldwide cuisine. There are shops and markets located a couple of minutes walk from the hotel so you can stock up on anything you need. Overall, we loved our stay hear and I would recommend it for a budget friendly, comfortable stay in Paris. As first timers to this hotel and to Paris, we would definitely return.
• rosemaryoz (10/5): A stylish, welcoming boutique hotel in a great neighborhood - This was a return visit and once again, we were really pleased with our stay. We booked a superior room, which is beautifully decorated, and very spacious for a Paris hotel, including a lovely bathroom. Everything is super clean, and it was great to be able to regulate the temperature in the room for ourselves, without a noisy aircon. And we could also open a window! I ended up with a massive migraine on my last day, and the staff were incredibly helpful, much appreciated. The hotel is well located, right near Vavin Metro station and bus stops, a few minutes walk from Gare Montparnasse, and close to so many fantastic restaurants & stores, whilst being just a bit out of the tourist trap districts to feel quite peaceful at night. We really enjoy this neighborhood and will definitely return! As with all hotels, the breakfast price could be lower. I'm not a breakfast person, so 17 euros for a coffee and a croissant is too much. We opted to go to the brasseries next door for our morning starts. The last time we stayed, we received a complimentary breakfast inclusion - this was such a good incentive to book.

• johntL6071PY (10/5): Wonderful hotel in the 6re. - Hotel le Royal, 212 Boulevard Raspail, is a wonderful boutique hotel, just off Blvd du Montparnasse. Traffic and cyclists go by, as do several bus lines, with a bus stop just across the street and metro stops nearby. There is easy walking access to restaurants, shops, banks, Jardin du Luxembourg and so much more!! We arrived in the morning, directly from our flight into Orly and were warmly greeted by Rose at reception, who stated that our triple room was ready early! During check-in, I discovered that I had left my phone in the Welcome car. Rose quickly sprang into action, getting us logged into their free wi-fi on our tablet so we could retrieve the driver’s name and number. She quickly called him, and he was able to return to the hotel to drop off the phone. Rose was absolutely friendly, pleasant, kind and helpful during a stressed-filled start to our 28-day France vacation. Rose and another young lady were always warm and gracious whenever we entered or exited the hotel during our one-week stay. Our room was quite comfortable with a lovely window view over the neighborhood. And we always returned to a well-cleaned room all nicely made up! Le Royal offers a delicious dining room breakfast buffet for an extra charge, which we occasionally enjoyed! Hotel Le Royal went above and beyond, acknowledging our 40th anniversary with a chilled bottle of white wine and two wine glasses awaiting us in our room when we returned that day! Excellent customer service! We applaud Director Hakim Ouassini and his entire staff for offering a clean, quaint but updated hotel that we highly recommend!

• Samihols (10/5): Great hotel - We received a warm welcome from the lovely receptionist and were told our room would be ready in 20 minutes (3 hours earlier than expected). I had booked a superior room and was pleased with the size and amount of wardrobe space available. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The beds were a little soft for us but we slept well. There are free hot drinks and water available 24 hours. The hotel is in a great location with plenty of restaurants and 2 metro stations within a few minutes walk. There’s a great bakery across the road. I would definitely stay here again next time we visit Paris.
• ProverbialYeti (2/5): Good location and friendly staff. But too many probmels with the room. - There are many positive aspects of this hotel. Unfortunately, there are some basic problems that are hard to ignore. We booked a family room and appreciated that it came with a double bed and two twin beds. Perfect for our family of four. The location of the hotel is also excellent - next to the Vavin metro station and within 10-15 mins (by car of transit) to all major attractions. However, the sewer smell from the bathroom was tough. I suppose it was because the sewer lines are old. Also, the AC was very weak. The hotel should really supply table fans to their guests. Paris was having an extreme heatwave and we were forced to buy a table fan with our own money. Most other hotels in Europe give your fans if you ask. On the last night, there was water dripping from the bathroom ceiling. We called the reception and were told that it was condensation from the AC duct. By the time we were checking out the next morning, water was falling like rain and the bathroom was flooded. There are other quirky things. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was way too high. No child could reach it and even my wife struggled. There was also no iron in the room due to "security reason". Weird. Finally, the breakfast was very basic, mainly consisting of pastries and cold cuts. Not many fresh options.
• 900maxwellk (10/5): Excellent Hotel in a Great Area of Paris - When I was in Paris, I spent six nights at the Hotel Le Royal, and I don't have enough good things to say about it. I arrived at 7:30 am on Sunday morning after a long night of travel. Although I was expecting not to check in to my room until 3:00 pm, the room was ready at 7:35 am! And better yet, it was an upgrade! The hotel is located at 212, boulevard Raspail in the 14e arrondissement. That's just steps from the Luxembourg Gardens, Gare Montparnasse, and excellent restaurants. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Reservations are refundable. Rooms contain international plugs to charge your phones. There is free tea and coffee in the lobby all day whether you are part of the breakfast plan or not. Special thanks to Isabelle and to Fiona at the hotel for their help while I was there. You want late check-out? Just ask a day or two in advance. A family with young children wanted their room cleaned so the kids could take a nap. Their room was clean in 20 minutes. If hotel is full, you can reserve at their sister hotel, Jardin le Brea, which is five minutes away. My only suggestion or constructive criticism is for the hotel to provide large bottles of water for hot days. Otherwise, I give it douze points, just like in Eurovision. I stayed there before in 2019, and I have no doubt that I will stay there again.

• Roberts08 (10/5): Our favorite Paris Hotel! - We have stayed at this hotel 13 times since 2010! We always deal directly with the hotel which is very easy to do. Our rooms are frequently upgraded which is nice. Regardless, ours are always clean, air conditioned and quiet. Front desk is helpful. Breakfast room is bright and cheerful. Fruits, yogurt, cereal and assortment of breads available. The scrambled eggs are pre-done- no stove in the small “kitchen”, and we now skip them!😒 This will always be our go-to Paris hotel. We have recommended it to many friends and received positive reports back from them. Highly recommend. Close to Metro stops and 2 great restaurants (both local favorites) : Le Gymnase - 3 doors down and wonderful hamburgers! La Gentiane- short walk away- best 3 chocolate dessert you will ever taste to finish a tasty meal!

• DrPleishner (10/5): Decent hotel - Decent hotel. A short walk from the Gare Montparnasse. Rooms are decent size for Paris. Breakfast is OK (not spectacular). Despite being on a big street it's quiet and comfortable inside. There are a couple of good restaurants close by.
• cbellewebb (10/5): Great hotel in Paris! - We enjoyed our stay at Le Hotel Royal. Facilities were well-maintained and staff was very helpful. We had a room for 4 and it was a nice size and we appreciated that they had the 2 extra beds set up for us when we arrived. The hallways were warm but air conditioning in our room was good and much appreciated. Elevator was tiny, but glad they at least had one. Location was close to many restaurants, but felt a bit more removed than we wished for.

Pretty and stylish decor with plenty of natural light and French windows that open--with heavy, velvet blackout drapes. Very convenient location to metro and RER station, numerous restaurants, groceries, Luxembourg Garden and Montparnasse. Free espresso all day in the breakfast room and mini-fridge in room. Would be nice for the superior rooms and suites to have their own Nespresso machine.

• rosemaryoz (10/5): A lovely, friendly boutique hotel in a great neighborhood - I stay in this area often, but this is the first time I've tried the Hotel Le Royal. I was very pleased we did! We enjoyed excellent service from all the friendly staff, super clean & comfortable rooms (which are clearly newly renovated) and a real sense of peace and tranquility despite being in the heart of Paris, just next to the buzzy 6th, but technically in the 14th. The breakfast included in our tariff was a nice touch too. And the hotel is surrounded by great little bistros and bars, and just up the street from iconic La Rotonde and Le Dome. It's in a very accessible spot too - ten minutes walk to Montparnasse station, a few minutes to Port Royal, or two minute to Vavin. Can definitely recommend, and we will be back!

• Nomad31742146189 (8/5): Great hotel for Paris weekend break - We visited Hotel Le Royal for two nights for a weekend break. It is in a central location with multiple tram stops very close by, including one which takes you to the airport which we found particularly useful. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Check-in and check-out were both very quick and we were grateful that reception stored our bags for us on our last day as our flight wasn’t until late afternoon. Everywhere is also very clean and tidy, both in the lobby and our room too. The hotel itself is on a quiet street but with lots of restaurants just a short walk away. Our room was quite small however was ideal for a weekend trip. The bathroom was also very modern and looked as though it had been recently updated.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay, fantastic area, lots of restaurants - Solid hotel in a great neighbourhood. We had an interior facing room which was very quiet. Free coffee and tea and a water machine to fill your water bottle. Older hotel, the bathroom door wouldn't close in our room unless we slammed it hard, not a big deal aside from our neighbours who probably didn't enjoy the slamming!

• CorkyDub (10/5): A great base for exploring Paris from the heart of Montparnasse - My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed for 2 nights and really liked this hotel. For a 3 star hotel it is decorated and maintained to a very high standard. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent and includes fresh croissants. The location is excellent as there are lots of great nearby where you can dine in traditional brasseries or creperie or enjoy a cocktail while taking in the vibrant street life of Montparnasse. There are endless possibilities for public transport connections by metro or RER to all parts of Paris from the many stations nearby. We were attending the Paralympic Games and had no difficulty getting to Versailles and Stade de France as well as to tourist attractions like the Tour Eiffel and the Champs Elysees, both on a direct metro route. We will be back.

The staff even let us know there were issues with the trains due to the Olympics and made sure we knew how to get to the airport avoiding any closures. Great location. Can really recommend.

• Robert (10/5): Great boutique hotel, well located. - We had the 4-bed room for our family of 4 and it was great. For a small boutique hotel it was great to have a workout room (small but useful) and even a little game room where we played pool. 2 sinks and 2 showers in the bathroom made it easy to accommodate 4. Desk staff was very helpful. Great location- close walk to st. Germaine Des Pres and Luxembourg Gardens.
• Laura (10/5): Family Stay in Paris - The hotel and room were as expected from the description. We were very glad to find a place where a family of 4 could stay in one room. Staff was nice, location was good, room and bathroom were clean. We were happy with our one night stay.
• Thilina (10/5): - It was a very good experience staying at Hotel Le Royal. Very conveniently located close to many important attractions such as the Louvre and Eiffel Tower and close to plenty of restaurants. Room is clean. A/C in good condition. A very good bathroom. Room is quite small but was large enough to sleep comfortably. Probably a little overpriced but again considering it is the summer in the heart of Paris, it is justifiable. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Overall we are very happy with the hotel and the stay of 4 nights.

• Sharon (10/5): - The property is walkable from the rail station as we planned. Our room was kindly upgraded so it was bigger than anticipated but still not huge. The room was lovely and clean with comfy pillows and the bathroom was spacious. The staff were very helpful and recommended Le Bistrot Des Campagnes for dinner which was really good. Breakfast in the hotel was adequate. The area around the hotel has lots of restaurants and the Jardin du Luxembourg is close by. Although the hotel is on quite a busy road we were not disturbed by it.

• Julie (10/5): Cozy and stylish on Blvd Raspail - Lovely and very comfortable hotel within walking distance of St Germaine des Pres and Montparnasse. Reception was super friendly and helpful. Room 11 had sweet little hallway before entering the room and it was a surprisingly cozy feature, felt as if you were entering your own little apartment. Highly recommend!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Cleaning could be improved! - Well located hotel and renovated overall, but our room was badly cleaned - the shower was full of hair when we arrived and we found someone else’s old, mouldy and melted ice-creams in the fridge… not very nice! Breakfast basic but ok.
• Clint (10/5): - The property is quaint and clean. The elevator is tiny, but it is an older building. Staff is friendly and very hospitable. We had 3 in our room with 5 suitcases. We all fit no problem. One bed was a single pullout. Comfortable, and when folded up it certainly was enough room. Independent European hotel’s rooms tend to be on the smaller side, but this was surprisingly large in comparison. Bathroom was very spacious and had 2 sinks. Lots of cafes and bistros nearby. Eiffel Tower is about a 2 mile walk through some great areas. We loved the fresh air walk after a 12 hour plane ride! Definitely would recommend.

My room was clean and the beds very comfortable with soft pillows and cosy duvets. Our thanks to all the staff for their hospitality and hard work! I stayed with my family (one teenager and one 21 year old) in a room with four twin beds, yet we still had space to move around. The bathroom, with two showers and double sinks, made our stay that much more comfortable. Everything was spotless and apparently recently renovated. No complaints here!!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful Stay - We were very happy and satisfied with our recent stay at Hotel Le Royal. The rooms were quite spacious and well appointed. It was spotless and the maid service was excellent. We did not avail of the breakfast in the hotel as it didn’t seem worth the price. Thankfully there is a wonderful patisserie boulangerie right across the street, and their offerings were delicious and fresh, for much less. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful hotel at a great location. We will definitely be back!

Fresh orange juice and grapefruit juice, coffee, individually wrapped cheese, cold cuts, little croissants and chocolatines, bio milk. Would definitely stay here again!

• M.P.F. (10/5): - I didn't get the lady's name, but the front desk lady who checked us in (Sep 16 around 11am), and out (Sept 20 aroimund 10:30am), was excellent, very friendly and professional. She was the perfect front person for the hotel (any hotel). We had the family room with 4 twin beds, which was exactly what I was looking for, for 4 adults (2 of us cousin moms and 1 adult kid each). There wasn't much room for luggage but we managed just fine. The bathroom had a shower/tub, in addition to a separate shower stall, a separate toilet stall and 2 sinks. The location was great between 2 metro stops and walking distance to Gare de Montparnasse and another metro stop for a different line. The Metro M4 line goes directly from just outside Gare du Nord to the Vavin stop which is 3 mins walk to the hotel. A friend who lives outside of Paris drove in to meet us and there was an Indigo Parking garage about a block from the hotel. Per my friend, access to the hotel by driving was very easy. There were plenty of good restaurants and creperies within walking distance as well as a Franprix, a bank and a pharmacy within 1 or 2 blocks of the hotel. We didn't get the breakfast offered at the hotel so I can't review that, but coffee and tea was available all day, at anytime. There was at least a couple of boulangeries/pâtisseries 2-3 mins walk from the hotel. All in all, a perfect hotel for a family trip to Paris.

• MadamCurie (10/5): - My sister recommended me this small hotel. This property has everything you need for a very affordable price. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious (considering that rooms are usually very small in Paris). The A/C worked great (something that we appreciated during the heat wave of the past days). Breakfast was very good and the staff was always willing to help: they printed our tickets and boarding documents and kept our suitcases hours after the check out, thus we could enjoy more of the city the day of our departure. Do not expect luxury or a lot of amenities but this hotel has what you need.

Room comfortable , clean , basic toiletries .. no hot water kettle for coffee or tea at least standard room but they provide it downstairs in the lobby , nice area to sit and relax .
