• Hugo060410 (10/5): The perfect stay - Perfect location. Spacious rooms. Super friendly staff. Super clean rooms. Quiet hotel with no outside noise and couldn't hear the rooms. Had everything you needed and more- including a minibar, bathroom amenities, tea and coffee and more. Free room service breakfast if you didn't want to go down to breakfast which we thought was amazing. Lovely views out of the bedroom windows. Super friendly staff. Quick and easy check in and check out. Bar area was lovely and cosy. A 1 minute walk from a metro station. Step out of the reception and the Arc de Triomphe is right there. Honestly just the perfect stay, totally worth the money and couldn't have asked for anything more.

• Hollis-Patel (9/5): Beautiful room and views of Paris. - Have stayed at this hotel previously, so we knew the location was great. Booked a room with balcony and view of the Arc de Triomphe so that is always special. The staff here are always very nice. Just book ahead if you would like the rooms with balconies. It is expensive, you pay a lot for the view but Paris is a treat and sometimes it is worth splashing out! Check in guy was not as friendly as usual. We checked in late so maybe he was tired, but other front of house staff always very cheery.

• UCKV (10/5): Our home in Paris - Just completed our 5th stay at this lovely, old-style hotel. Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff. I was told they are closing in October for 18 months for renovation….hopefully it will retain its value and charm after reopening.

• Blair (10/5): - Truly enjoyed the character and ambiance of this boutique hotel. The location was awesome with quick access to all modes of transportation. The hotel was surrounded by countless cafes, bistros and restaurants for dining. A short stroll down the Champs d’lysse and you find lots of shopping and more dining opportunities. The staff was great. They put up with my broken French as I tried to immerse myself in our visit to Paris. We will definitely return here on our next visit to Paris.

The metro stop Charles de Gaulle-Etoile is literally accessible in front of the hotel (Which is Sortie (exit) 5-Avenue Carnot when you return to the hotel) and you can access metro Line 1, 2, 6, & RER train A. I stayed in the Arc Suite alone with my 13-year-old daughter. It was magical. We felt very safe walking everywhere & using the metro and Ubers for further destinations. The staff was lovely. We did not utilize the breakfast, but I was happy to have a Nespresso machine in the room for coffee before heading out.

The location couldn’t be better—just steps away from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées, which made exploring Paris so easy. The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional; they went out of their way to make us feel welcome, especially Abdu at the front desk and the gentleman who served breakfast, who always greeted us with a smile. The room was comfortable, very clean, and beautifully decorated in a classic Parisian style. From our window, we had a breathtaking view of the Arc de Triomphe that made our stay extra special. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety and fresh options each morning. Overall, this hotel combines charm, comfort, and a perfect location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris, and I would definitely stay here again.

• peterlV1854XX (10/5): We'll be back! - Great location! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptional with a balcony that had a direct view of L'Arc de Triomphe. It doesn't get any more Paris than that! Only a couple of minor things keep me from rating this hotel 5 stars in every category. (1) The bathroom could use additional shelves. There was plenty of room for them. (2) The hairdryer didn't have a working on/off button. These are very minor and really nitpicking. This is a great hotel that I would have no hesitation in staying again or recommending to friends!

• 337jesusb (10/5): EXTRAORDINARY - The location is fantastic, the hotel as a whole is fabulous, great customer service at the front desk and to those behind it too. This is our second time staying at the Splendid Etoile Hotel. The first time was on our wedding anniversary, was for location and having access to transportation, shops, restaurants and the Arc De Triumph. However, all of these reasons took second place after our first stay. The reason why we chose to stay here again, was for the exquisite attention to detail on the hotel as a whole, the help at the front desk and those behind that work so hard without showing their face. I was very sorry for not having access to the bar, we would've enjoyed a drink in this beautiful lobby. As usual, we would like to congratulate management for selecting such a great team of experts, we must make a special mention of Mr. Ghorbal with his extraordinary and profesional personality that welcomes,- he is such an asset to this organization. We are very sad to learn of the time this location will take to renovate, but we are definitely looking forward to our next visit soon.
• wong600 (6/5): Great location however EXPENSIVE and got a HALF ARC VIEW ONLY at the end - I booked Privilege Room with direct view on the Arc de Triomphe via hotel website. However, the hotel arranged me at very low level (2/F) which almost half of the Arc was covered by trees!! That’s EXTREMELY disappointing as the view is not worth for the price I paid. I had sent email to the hotel in advance for higher floor room arrangements which they disappointed me at the end. This is the honeymoon with my husband, and that’s not we expected. We paid the same price as 3-5/F customers and they definitely got a MUCH BETTER view than I did. So, if you EXPECT a GREAT view for the Arc, please bear in mind that the view might not meet your expectations.

Kind of got a feeling that they gave the recommendation as a favour to the restaurant Also, one night I came home after dinner in a taxi. The driver said he did not accept my card. Said cash only. I went into the reception for help and explained the situation to see if they can come help me talk to the driver. They were basically picking on me as a tourist. The reception staff just shrugged their shoulders and basically said it wasn't their problem. I had to go out and resolve the problem myself Would have been good if they had my back. But this was not the case

• R1844ZLjuanm (2/5): Rejected entry of my wife even after paying for a room for two people - I was traveling with my wife who arrived after I had made my check in and when trying to enter the hotel I was denied entry. The receptionist rejected my wife and was stern on not letting us in even though I had already payed the city tax for both of us and had payed a two person room.

The bar was not open despite being advertised as open and the unfriendly staff told me ( solo female) to go to a bar in the street instead. They refused to get me a drink saying the bar was closed as the barman was on holiday! Staff disinterested. TV in the room was useless. Definitely not 4 star.

The bellhop was actually the one that found it and returned it to me. I told Illona that she should have called me when she realized she didn't return it, to which she reponded by laughing. I really don't think it's a laughing matter for someone to lose their passport. It was extremely RUDE of her to react in that manner. My interactions with the bellhop were very pleasant and he apologized for the mishap.

• Trip17376944862 (10/5): Terrific staff with Arc de Triomphe views - We recently stayed at this hotel for the Paris marathon. Abdu was very welcoming upon our arrival after a long overnight flight from the US-providing us with complimentary tea, coffee and croissants. The hotel could not be in a better location : there is an elevator for the Metro/RER station right outside on Avenue Carnot. The breakfast is an excellent value with terrific views of the Arc de Triomphe from the sunroom. Above all the staff were very accommodating, enduring our attempts at speaking French , providing ice for my sore knees and Francoise and Abdu went above and beyond in locating us to a different room when we provided feedback. Chapeau ! A bientot !

• Ming (3/5): It's a pity. I think it was a failed accommodation experience. - I would like to evaluate the hotel based on my personal experience: Firstly, the location of this hotel is unique. However, if you need to book a room with a balcony overlooking the Arc de Triomphe, you must confirm multiple times and pay attention to the booking channel. As far as I know, only the official website allows reservations for rooms with balconies on floors 2-5. I didn't know until I arrived at the hotel that there was no balcony. A lady at the front desk arranged for me to stay in a room on the 6th floor, which actually had no view of the square. What a pity! I went downstairs several times to communicate with a lady wearing glasses at the front desk. I wanted to know if I could change to a room with a balcony for an additional fee, but I was always rejected. However, on the second day, I met other guests who were able to make such a change, and I don't understand why I couldn't. I was even willing to pay extra. Yet I kept being refused and was constantly told that the room I booked simply did not have a balcony. I'm very disappointed with this trip to Paris.

Despite lots of traffic, our room was extremely quiet and had an excellent view. I have no complaints. There’s nothing I would have liked to be better.
