Guest Reviews
- Anton (10/5): - Excellent location; probably one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in - my favorite place to stay in Amsterdam. Very kind staff support.
- Carolyn (10/5): Beautiful and comfortable property. We will definitely stay here again our next visit to Amsterdam. - The decor of the hotel in guest areas as well as rooms was stunning. Very comfortable, eclectic with a luxurious and opulent feel. Excellent location and walking distance to transport and plenty of dining options and areas we wanted to explore. Excellent facilities such as hot/cold drinks and light snacks provided. Beautiful in house cats too. Only two minor things - there was an issue with the Nespresso machine in our room, and our laundry did not get cleaned due to the Ascension Day holiday but the hotel did not inform us of that in advance otherwise we would have used a laundromat ourselves instead of getting our dirty laundry back after two days.
- Marcus (10/5): - Lovely hotel with good rooms and very good breakfast. The staff are very friendly. The price.
- MacPherson (9/5): -
- Gary (9/5): Beautiful! - Beautiful & very clean. Great location. Staff not very helpful.
- Theresa (10/5): - Beautifully decorated and feels luxurious. Easy walk to bars and restaurants and also trams for sightseeing.
- Bethanie (8/5): The location made this hotel stand out. There were some issues, but overall, we had a nice stay. - Location was very convenient. Staff was helpful. Refrigerator in room was only cool (not cold enough to keep items cold). I had to store my medication in lobby refrigerator. Phone in room did not work. Air conditioning was only controlled from lobby desk. As phone did not work, I had to get dressed and go down to lobby at 11:30 at night to have them turn on the air conditioning. Curtains did not fit the windows properly so unable to close completely to keep out light. Upstairs hallway smelled like pot at all times.
- Myoshi (9/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): - Everything was perfection! Truly a luxury boutique experience. Their attention to detail was impeccable. You can't beat the location and the staff was wonderful! Highly recommend! N/A
- Markus (8/5): -
- Teresa (9/5): Great - Location and furnishings Our room was a bit small
- amanda (6/5): - The location was perfect for our first time in Amsterdam. I feel it was very over priced for our tiny room. Each morning at the expensive buffet breakfast the server reminded us we had to leave in 45 minutes. I did not appreciate the rush or abrupt way she spoke to us.
- Candace (10/5): -
- David (9/5): One of the few hotels around the world I would choose to come back to - Great location, quality fixtures and fittings. Comfy environment and friendly staff Only downside was our room had a very high sided bath to negotiate to get in to shower and I have some mobility issues. Apparently some rooms have walk in showers, I should have asked
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Agata (10/5): -
- Carla (10/5): The hotel exceeded our expectations....we look forward to returning! - You can't beat the location! We walked to everything! The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating.
- Susan (10/5): It exceeded my expectations and I’m already planning a return visit. - Everything. The decor, the staff and the location. Plus the cats. They bring such a homey touch to the hotel and everyone loved them. I would have like a wider offering of white wine at the bar. My preference is NZ Sauvignon Blanc and could only get Pinot Grigio which I didn’t like.
- Eric (10/5): -
- Lea (10/5): Comfortable , relaxing , and fun - Staff friendliness - front desk and the environmental services staff. Very clean. Nice decor
- nancywW7356JY (10/5): Wonderful hotel - The location of this hotel was perfect for us. Very centrally located for everything we wanted to do. This is a beautiful hotel and so well decorated and appointed. The room was small as so many are in Europe but it was laid out well and we had what we needed. The housekeeping was excellent! I have to stay one thing we loved was the coffee machine where we could choose our coffee and the delicious treats that were available throughout the day. We always looked forward to returning to the hotel and relaxing in the beautiful lobby.

- Gülbeyaz (10/5): - Perfekte Lage ! Für Amsterdam eine extrem qualitative Zimmerausstattung !
- Chris (10/5): - We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel on the canal.
The room & bed was comfortable. It felt like home when coming back each evening after a busy day.
I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Amsterdam.

- U2934SSmarciaw (10/5): Luxury in the Heart of Amsterdam - I found this hotel months ago while searching the internet just for fun. It’s absolutely exquisite in decor and so comfortable and luxurious. They helped our stay in every way possible. We enjoyed the breakfast which was off the charts and even the bar later in the day. Finally the location of the hotel was perfect for walking around and we found awesome restaurants right in the neighborhood. Would love to return if we ever come back to Amsterdam.
- TRACY (10/5): Like staying in a fancy jewel box - The decor is very lavish and fun. It is exceptionally clean and well kept. Location is excellent Nothing
- Loredana (10/5): - Atitudinea angajatilor si facilitățile
- Michelle (10/5): would recommend highly - fantastic location and staff. Classy and fun decor. loved it
- KimH440 (8/5): Hotel Estheréa - This hotel is fabulous. This is our second stay, having arrived one year after our previous visit. Our first visit last year was beyond exceptional. This time, however, we decided to stay longer and we were put in room 415, which was known by the Hotel to have construction on the other side of the headboard wall at least two weeks prior to our visit. I was very surprised they put someone staying four days at their hotel in a known problem spot. We were awoken at 7:28 AM after our first night to hammering, drilling and what seemed to be a sander on the same wall that our heads were against whilst sleeping. When I asked the front desk if they could request that the construction hold off until a later time that morning, their response was that they have made the request in the past but due to Dutch law, all construction can begin on outside properties at 7am. I did request a different room and they immediately responded to my satisfaction. They went above and beyond to make sure I was accommodated, but once again, I’m surprised they didn’t deal with this before my check-in when they knew I was staying for four days.
Leo in the bar is an ultra professional and absolutely outstanding. Take every single bit of advice he offers regarding what to drink and places to visit in the city.
- G4561BDfatmat (10/5): Best decision booking that hotel - I absolutely loved my stay. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The hotel is incredibly clean, beautifully maintained, and has a warm, charming welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable over looking the canal, What truly stood out was the staff: they were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, charm, and excellent service.
- Navjyot (10/5): -
- Lisette (10/5): Great location. Beautiful hotel inside - Lovely hotel and location Little smell in bathroom. Just flushed bath with water and closed plug
- Bruce (9/5): -
- Tracey (9/5): Beautiful boutique hotel located centrally, with wonderful staff and we felt very well looked after. - Loved the decor of the hotel, the extreme attention to detail. The location was fantastic for access to all the tourist sights. Breakfast was great, but I didn’t like having to book for a specific time the day before. The staff of the hotel were very helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The room was as I expected, and the size of the bathroom was a nice surprise. Didn’t like having a shower over the bath - the bath was quite high and I found it difficult to get into and out of - also, there are no rails on the shower wall to assist with entry or exit of the shower. This makes it a bit dangerous, and at one point I almost slipped over. I suggest one rail, and one shelf in the shower would improve things.
- Sara (10/5): You can’t ask for a better location in the heart of Amsterdam. The rooms are small but elegantly appointed, with comfort - Outstanding location and spotlessly clean. Some trouble with keys and safe, but staff worked hard to correct.
- Liubov (10/5): - Nice place to spend a night or two Be careful about the window
- Chantal (10/5): Stunning hotel ideally located - It is a beautiful hotel and in a fantastic part of the city. It was close to the metro and we had a canal view that was extra special.
- dangP265PR (10/5): Great couples option - Nice boutique hotel in a quiet area of Amsterdam. Great restaurant choices within a short walk, as well the hotel offers a good breakfast option and a full bar service.
Beds were comfortable and room a moderate size with a nice sized bathroom.
- Kuhn (9/5): -
- Ella (10/5): I had the best week here with my friend we were comfortable and treated kindly by staff. - It was a magical hotel it felt like something out of a fairy tale. The room was kept clean and comfortable and the lobby area was beautiful. We loved the breakfast and how close it was to the canals. There was even an adorable Photo Booth right around the corner. N/A
- Duru (9/5): -
- Vikash (10/5): The perfect hotel in Amsterdam - Beautiful aesthetic hotel
Very central to everything Nothing
- Norah (9/5): Amazing location - Amazing location. Great breakfast although not included. Walls were thin could hear coughing next door. Room was very small Shutters but no curtains. Room was very bright all night long
- Kati (10/5): -
- Donna (10/5): Wonderful - Rooms were beautiful Wish they had a bigger food menu
- Fatmah (10/5): Best decision booking that hotel - I absolutely loved my stay. it exceeded my expectations in every way. The hotel is incredibly clean, beautifully maintained, and has a warm, charming welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. What truly stood out was the staff: they were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, charm, and excellent service. I was actually sad leaving.
- Annabel (8/5): High quality boutique hotel on one of the best canals - Quirkiness , eclectic decor and high quality furnishings. Excellent location on one of the best canals and lovely view from bedroom. A gift of swanky bedroom slippers and perfume sample were a nice touch . Welcome could have been a little warmer and breakfast a little pricy. Far too much rubbish on the street outside - not hotel's fault but apparently the aftermath of King's Day celebrations.
- Aljaz (10/5): Amazing stay on the canals! - The reception staff are absolutely amazing! We spent 2 days and really felt welcome by everyone. Design on the hotel is really interesting and the location is top tier. Nothing.
- akay (3/5): - KONUM İYİ 4 GECE BOYUNCA ODA KLİMAMIZ ÇALIŞMADI DONDUK. RESEPSİYONU ARADIĞIMIZDA BİZ BURADAN HALLEDELİM DEDİLER SABAHA KARŞI ÇALIŞTI. AYRICA OTEL ÇOK YOĞUN BİR ŞEKİLDE KOKUYORDU. Colazione dolce e salata davvero ottima
- karenfbl (10/5): Fabulous jotel - EVERYTHING about this hotel is fabulous! The staff, the rooms(we booked a family room for the size), housekeeping, breakfast.
Location was ideal for us as almost everything we wanted to see was walking distance to the hotel.
We are here during the Kings Day celebration and everything is closed. We were late getting to breakfast and, although they had already closed, they were so gracious and provided everything you could want in a breakfast.
If you are wondering about when to come, come when the tulips are in bloom. The Keukenhof Gardens were AMAZING!
- Venture26616068521 (10/5): Great stay!!! Coming back... - Location=10; close to shopping/mostly everything in walking distance
Atmosphere=10
Rooms=9; slightly small but has character and elegance
Cleanliness=housekeeping very efficient
Noise level=9
Service=10. Staff were amazing! Big thanks and hugs to Sedef, Aaliyahh, Tanisha, Terrestrial, Marie Chriss, Bryan, & Daniel
Amenities=8; bar and breakfast in site (make reservations a day ahead for breakfast), but no lunch or dinner. Many places to eat though in area

- marieSuburbanChicago (8/5): Total splurge on one night - We had one night in Amsterdam so I splurged on a canal view room. It was about $650 USD for the night, which is a lot IMO, but the hotel is gorgeous. Room really charming and cozy. A little noise from floors above, but not terrible. No street noise really. So this review is only four star due to not sure about the value. Staff very nice. Highly recommend.

- Joyce (9/5): Very enjoyable stay - Great location right on the Singel Canal and 20 minutes walk to the train station. Very quiet hotel and beautifully decorated. I found the double bedroom very small and I was alone. It would be hard for 2 adults with luggage to function easily. All the rooms have unique decor.
I was not happy with the decor of the first room and asked to be changed which they gladly did.
Overall breakfast was excellent but the hot food is buffet style and the scrambled eggs were always dry and they were not willing to make fresh which was ridiculous for a €26 breakfast!!
- WWendyWoo (10/5): Bliss - The staff at Hotel Estherea take care of you from the moment you arrive, until you leave. The bedrooms are luxurious and very comfortable, with lots of little added details which are delightful.
The public spaces likewise are opulent and beautifully decorated, with lots of little hidden gems such as the hanging chair in the lounge area.
The addition of a coffee machine and cakes in the lounge are just lovely. What a treat.
We've decided that this is our 'go to' hotel in Amsterdam.
- Cyril (8/5): -
- PA (9/5): -
- Venita (10/5): - Everything
- Annasusannah80 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Stayed here as I wanted the wow factor as this was a treat for my Daughter's 21st birthday.
It did not disappoint, it was the prettiest of hotels, and so many finishing touches every where you looked, whether it was the complimentary drinks, treats and sweets, the individual hand towels in the toilets really made the hotel stand out as something special.
Our room was small, as expected but this wasn't a problem and we managed just fine for 4 nights. The decor of the room and bathroom felt luxurious as did the rest of the hotel.
What I particularly liked that despite the price tag and luxurious surroundings it had a very laid back and casual vibe, no airs and graces and we felt perfectly at home.
Staff were all friendly and helpful for all our needs.
The deposit I knew about before we arrived, whatever you spend in the hotel is deducted from this and the remainder returned within 3-5 days.
It's well located, easy walk to the major attractions, slightly longer walk to the Museum quarter, but trams are easily accessible for those not wanting to walk.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Winnie (9/5): -
- KenTzu (10/5): Cozy little boutigue hotel - Great hospitality , # 507 room recomm, easy to take a tram to railway station, near to museums,
- Valeriia (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Enjoyable stay - This is our second stay and again we really enjoyed it. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. If I had to give 1 negative and give this reluctantly, it was regarding the complimentary biscuits and cakes. This time during our visit they seemed a little more reluctant to top this up as they have done during our last visit. It was quite nice for our 3 day stay to come back to a hot chocolate and a biscuit. However, on our return these were never replenished for all guests to enjoy and most of the time, the table was empty which was a shame. I loved my stay
- meny (10/5): - הכל כלום

- william (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend your hotel to others. Great location and friendly. - We took your offer to upgrade to the suite in room 10 and loved it and stayed on the suite in room 11 during the 2nd part of our trip. My wife is allergic to cat hair!
- Shivani (8/5): - Central location. Lovely interiors. Courteous staff Very small room with ensuite. Glass doors to shower and toilet and sink outside toilet
- Viv (10/5): -
- Milan (8/5): Hezký hotel, v centu Amstrdamu. Útulný, čistý. Ideální poloha, rychlá wifi. Bohužel jsem dostal velmi malý pokoj kam si - Estetika, čistota, útulnost, wifi. Malý pokoj. Dostali jsme ten nejmenší na patře( podle plánku patra) a přestože hotel nebyl plný, personál nám nebyl ochoten pokoj vyměnit za větší.
- Michael (9/5): It was a nice a stay - It was in a good location . Rooms were nice . We stayed previously in a hotel in Budapest with breakfast included and a wine and cheese hour in the afternoon . I thought the breakfast was not what I would have expected for the money and quality of the hotel. I was very surprised that it was a limited buffet and did not offer an omelette service.
Not sure about the philosophy of dropping off and picking up the hotel key. The staff was always busy so not much interaction. It was an inconvenience to wait in line behind a large crowd checking in to retrieve the room key .
- Wai Yee (5/5): Paid 550 euro for a small room with a window which overlook the lift of property, money wasted! - Not worth money spent!
- Guest (10/5): -

- Marie (9/5): Wonderful location to explore Amsterdam - Quiet and great common areas in hotel. Great location! Liked everything
- Roberta (8/5): It’s a lovely hotel with all the period pieces. They are great location. The staff was extremely nice. The rooms are sma - No, it was renovated bathrooms were brand new. The sitting area is downstairs in the lobby. The room was too small for two people in luggage. You could move there knickknack tables out of the room for more room in the room the light in the bed and made me turn on, but I could never give it to turn off because the nose is broken.. I wish the hotel had a restaurant that served food. It serves breakfast, but it doesn’t serve anything else. They offer tea and coffee for free. I need to put out coffee cups. I don’t know how many people enjoy drinking coffee or a hot beverage in a glass..
- dimitri (9/5): - Super mooi hotel! Perfecte locatie..

- kimberlyv921 (10/5): A Opulent Canal House in Amsterdam - This hotel is an experience in itself. It is lush and eclectic and filled with little delights. The shower, the toiletries, the daily snacks and coffee and the wonderful breakfast make it special.
