Guest Reviews
- Alan (8/5): - Front desk staff are excellent , breakfast simple but good. Room was a decent size shower good a/c
- Erin (6/5): - The hotel is vintage. The staff are incredibly friendly and if you like this vibe, you will enjoy your stay.
The bathrooms are difficult to maneuver. There is a tub with a hose and no shower curtain so as a female, washing your hair is a feat and water gets all over the floor. There was also no soap for the sink.
The floors were dirty and there is a distinct smell to the hotel as well. And there is a cat in the lobby, so if you have allergies beware.
It is close to the train and there is a bar right out front which was nice.
- Dipak (8/5): - Very friendly staff!!!
- Chad (10/5): Amazing hotel - The hotel was amazing! The decor was beautiful and the suite was very spacious and clean. We would absolutely stay here again!
- Chip (10/5): Great hotel - This was a quaint hotel with lovely staff. Nice rooms and easy access to all of Paris. Would stay here again
- Pablo (2/5): - The heating was not working properly and the room was super cold. This hotel should not have more than 2* and urgently needs a remodelation.
- Dominik (8/5): - This was a charming, well kept hotel which had the feel of a boutique hotel with it's lovely design choices.
Staff are friendly, accommodating (we arrived very early and they looked after our bags), and the room was clean, light and comfortable.
Highly recommend.
- Simon (10/5): Small Stylish Hotel - Great location for four night stay, walked from Eurostar station and was very comfortable quiet room. Stylish small friendly hotel, with great Parisian touches. Spent our stay walking exploring Paris, hotel was prefect base near cafes and bars for drinks, and secret restaurants of the passages. Hope to visit again.
- Tom (8/5): - Great location close to the station and rest of the city/local cafes/shops very accessible. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and clean facilities. Quite compact and en-suite door with a see-through window was interesting, and room quite hot, but otherwise a lovely stay.
- Maxim (10/5): - Suite is zeer mooi. Goede ligging. Fijne mensen die er werken
- Caitlin (10/5): - We loved our stay at Hotel du temps. Ben and his team are incredibly friendly and helpful. The area has great transport options, and easy access to the artsy areas of Montmartre, Pigalle and the 10th arrondissement. Daily breakfast is delicious, although a tad expensive (just like the rest of Paris :)) The room was super clean and cute, with a very tiny bathroom (although the rainfall shower was amazing!). We’d definitely stay again.
- Natalie (8/5): Simplicity at its finest - I loved Hotel du Temps; it was no frills no fuss but focused on details that mattered. The simple rooms were not fancy, but the beds were very comfortable. Touches like really fantastic towels, complementary champagne at check-in and Aesop bath supplies made you feel like you were staying in an upscale hotel, for a lower price point. 100% will return.
Its location is also good: about a 10-15 min walk (I walk NYC fast) to le Marais and 15-20 minutes to Montmartre. The Cadet stop on the 7 train is a 5 minute walk or less, and there's a great boulangerie just a half block further than the Cadet stop where you can grab a croissant before hopping on the train. Also very convenient to Gare de Nord for getting in/out of the city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Sehr charmantes sauberes Zimmer. Gute Lage.
Hat uns ausgesprochen gut gefallen.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A lovely authentic hotel in a brilliant location. About a 30 second walk to the nearest metro. Staff were delightful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quirky, cool boutique hotel where the staff were great as was the location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): My fourth stay at Hotel du Temps - This was my fourth stay at Hotel du Temps since 2016. This is a charming little hotel. Location is great, and I really like the basic whitepainted rooms with wooden floors, pleasantly furnished with vintage furniture. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Comfortable beds, new sheets every day. The air condition worked fine. Bathroom very clean. Wifi worked great in my room, but strangely not that well in the lobby area. There is a safe and small refrigerator in the room. Be aware that the rooms are small, showers very small in the single rooms, and the walls are very thin. The narrow hallway to the rooms may seem a bit claustrophobic to some. They serve a small but fresh french breakfast, and the small breakfast area is very nice. Helpful and friendly staff. On the more negative side, it has started to look a bit neglected and run down here and there, just small things like the desk lightning in my room hanging loose in the cables, toilet brush broken, the black coach in the breakfast area ripped. I hope they look things over. These negative comments aside, I still like this hotel and would not mind staying here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr charmantes Hotel in einem sehr angenehmen Pariser Viertel.
- Megan (10/5): - Very pleasant stay and great staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Originele kamers, mooi interieur, modern, kleine kamers maar voelen ruim aan, perfecte ligging.
- Christine (8/5): A great hotel - Perfect location, very pleasant and helpful staff, best pressure of shower ever. However, what was missing was tea facilities in the room, and there was no shower curtain so water splashed all over the room. Air conditioning most welcome as was the small fridge. Ideal location, only 10 mins walk from Gare du Nord. Great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice hotel, in the centre of paris. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
- Thalia (4/5): - Cute very small Boutique Hotel not far from Gare Du Nord train station however was surprised at the poor upkeep of the space. It had all the elements that would make it the perfect Parisian stay but was disappointed to discover that it was very dated.
- PETER (10/5): Perfect boutique hotel - We booked this hotel last minute and without much background research and are so glad to have ended up here. The hotel was charming, well-located and clean, but the real standout was the service. Florencia at reception helped us with early check in, finding a nearby restaurant, checking for vegetarian options and making a reservation. She went above and beyond and it made our last few days of vacation especially memorable. If you’re looking for a friendly, charming hotel, I highly recommend this place.
- john (6/5): - Not what we expected from photos on the website. However staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It already was our second stay at Hotel du Temps. We stayed in a comfort room and these are actually quite large for Parisien hotel rooms :) They have a comfortable bed and a small but very clean bathroom with nice Aesop products. One downside of the room we stayed in was that the walls are quite thin, so we could hear our neighbors speak through the walls quite loudly. All hotel staff is very friendly. You can have a nice simple breakfast for only 10€. We ordered a fruit salad on top. All fruits were cut on the spot, it does not get more fresh than that! The hotel is located in a quiet street. I like the location: walking distance from the Gare du Nord, several must see areas and nice restaurants. I would book this hotel again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and clean. Friendly staff, room with correct size. Beauty products by Asop, bottle of water and tote bag.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A very cosy hotel with the best homely atmosphere. The relaxed bar serve great drinks and makes the best coffees
Zeer aangenaam personeel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Love the character and the helpful staff. Very good location near Gare du Nord.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Spartan accommodation. Close to main thoroufares but has seen better days. Attached bar playa music until 1;30 am on weekends.
- Al (10/5): - I love this little hotel, the check in staff were super friendly and nice. The Italian girl at the desk was super friendly totally welcoming and accommodating. The room was small but adequate for a single person. It was clean and i enjoyed my time there. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours, but i never had a problem with noise. The shower was great, hot and cold water whenever needed, this request for minor it might seem it not alway fulfilled in Europe. The housekeeping service came inside the room everyday to clean and tidy up whenever i wasn't there. There was not an option for them not to do so like a "do not disturb" sign, however, it didn't bother me. Location is fantastic away from the dangerous areas in Zone 9 and 10, so it is closer to Zone 2 which it's great. There are several metro stations that will take you to this hotel. Checking out was okay, the guy at the front desk was a little bit dismissive and with some sort of attitude his name is Claude. Not a fan myself. Everything else was great.
- Emma (10/5): - We loved this place. It was perfect location within the city and a quick walk to fantastic breakfast and dinner places. The hotel is super cosy and has a great bar and hang out area within the entrance. All the staff we met there beyond friendly and welcoming.
Our room was a perfect size for two people and we were surprised how quiet the room was even though it looked out on the main road. The only issues we had was the shower. There was no place to hang the shower hose so you had to sit in the bed and shower yourself and that was abit odd.
Other then that it was perfect.
- LARA (6/5): - Very Average hotel. Location is good, but everything else is average. Price is high, compared to the offering, but probably because of the season and availability.
- Juliette (6/5): - The rooms here are very, very tiny. Not appropriate for my family of three. They room is cute with vintage pieces, but everything was so old it was broken. Three out of four tables in our room were broken and the bed was, too. Also, we did not eat the hotel breakfast since there were no gluten free options.
- Dominic (10/5): - Staff was very nice and helpful with questions about metro and various areas in the city.
This is my third time at this hotel. Location makes it easy to get to most places fast including train station.
- Andrew (8/5): Friendly small hotel convenient for Gard du Nord. - Great value hotel near Gard du Nord with friendly and helpful staff. Room was very small, no English Channels on TV and it is more quirky than boutique, but perfectly comfortable for a short stay.
- Hassan (8/5): Nice hypster hotel with cool bar - Small hotel with a very cool hypster style. Nice cocktail bar n the lobby area. Rooms are large enough for Paris (make sure to book the larger one). Bathroom a little small. Friendly staff.
- Eric (8/5): Nice Cozy Hotel - Cozy hotel with friendly staff and a cool vibe. Comfortable room with a little fridge and clean, modern bathroom. The bar/breakfast area makes for a welcoming entry, and the breakfast itself is tasty and good value. Nice little spot in the 9th!
- Verified traveler (10/5): A gem! - Hôtel du Temps is a treasure! I’ve been coming to Paris for 50 years, and this was right up there for quality, friendly service, and value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really hospitable and very helpful staff, great location
- Caroline (4/5): ok for 1 person, 1 night - Clean and good service, however rooms are teeny tiny and there is not a full shower or privacy in the bathroom. This is just ok for a single person for a one night stay.
- Catherine Mc (8/5): Quirk in Paris - Lovely quirky hotel in cool area. Very personable staff. Just one bottle of water in double room: but it wasn’t even in the wee fridge....... But surely you should be advocating drinking the tap water?! really appreciated the Aesop toiletries (a brand I totally rate).
- Jack (6/5): Location - The location was good. However, the room was very small. The shower was terrible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute hotel - Very nice stay at this hotel. Staff was courteous and helpful, very centrally located.
- Thakshila (10/5): - Always a cool spot!
- Sherry (10/5): - beautiful hotel, great service and every little thing is so fine and nice.
- Drissia (10/5): An oasis in the heart of Paris - This hotel is a great family friendly place. We stayed there with our toddler and were very satisfied with the hotel staff. We stayed there twice and tried 3 of their rooms. The rooms are not huge but considering it´s Paris they are big. Everything is well thought, comfortable and simple. Good quality all the way through wether it´s the Parisian breakfast with one of the best baguettes I´ve ever had or the jams that were all from small producers. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back. If you travel with a small child and need a crib, make sure you mention that in your booking as not all rooms can have a crib in them. When that happened to us (they were informed before hand we were coming with a small child that would need a crib but we got a room where a bric couldn´t fit) the staff just upgraded us to a bigger room free of charge. Again give a try to this little hidden gem of a place
- ANA C CALDERON (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in a really cool neighborhood. The decor is really special and the room was super comfortable. All the staff were amazing and they had a really beautiful breakfast option. Will definitely stay again.
- Gloria (10/5): Lovely Boutique Hotel - Hotel du Temps was recommended to us by our daughter, as she has stayed there before with her partner. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side, was clean and was big enough for the two of us.
The hotel is very handy for the Gare du Nord metro station and also for the smaller metro stations as well, all within walking distance of the hotel, saving you money on taxi fares.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice hotel though you can hear noise from adjacent rooms
- Heidi (8/5): Excellent location, loved our little room - Excellent location for exploring and a short walk from Gard du Nord which is great. Our room was small and bright. Our room over looked a little park and the double glazing is so good that our room was like a silent little haven or you could open the windows and let the sound if the city in. Only thing was our double bed was two singles pushed together and one side was a bit lumpy and uncomfortable. Toiletries definitely need to be replenished more regularly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel was gorgeously designed. The room was small, but that is to be expected at most hotels in Paris. The bathroom toiletries were lovely (Aesop!), but there is not a mini-bar or any other extra amenities in the room. The little cafe area downstairs does a nice breakfast, and the staff was very friendly. I would stay there again, for sure!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff! Close to metro, cafes and restaurants.
- Catherine (10/5): relaxed, friendly, clean and comfy - Very happy with hotel. Relaxed atmosphere. 4th time staying and would stay again
- Katja (10/5): Charming and perfect hotel in a great location - We walked into Hotel du Temps and loved it immediately. The reception we received was welcoming and casual, the entrance/bar/café dining area were exactly what we were looking for: charming, quiet, cool decor, and not ostentatious. Our room was the same. As well as being spotless, it-along with the entire hotel-has a art deco vibe we loved. We have family in the Paris area and this was a quiet getaway for us in a great location-we walked everywhere-not overrun by tourists. We'll definitely be back!
- Rebecca (8/5): Attractively decorated hotel, up & coming district - Helpful staff, cute hotel with light & bright room. Location easily walkable to South Pigalle and Saint George areas. Easy bus ride to Marais and other districts. Free wi-fi.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel was dreary. Felt unfriendly. Staff did not feel welcoming.
- charleene (8/5): good. - Nice safe area close to transportation.
- ROGER (10/5): A little of paradise in the city of love - Very nice helpful staff
- LPR (6/5): Nice in some parts but lots of maintenance work - The hotel lobby and bar was beautifully designed, staff reasonably pleasant and the room nicely decorated. Great location near the station.
The area at this time of year was very quiet and many places shut.
We were disappointed that the room, bed and bathroom facilities were so tiny. The website is misleading.
The door slamming on our floor kept us up at night and woke us up in the morning.
There was lots of maintenance work going on and the piano bar was not available to us. When we went down to use the loo we could barely find it because the whole bar area was a construction site.
I nearly feel down the stairs when leaving our floor because the stair was not maintained properly.
When we left our luggage it was left in the broom cupboard at the back of reception.
I think my expectations based on the website and reviews on the internet set the experience up to fall short. I'm sure staff were doing their best but we hoped for a nicer experience.
I'm sure this hotel would be lovely for a solo traveller but not for a couples weekend away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to metro - Not happy at first but things got rectified by hotel.
- Kevin (8/5): Cute and convenient - This is a gem of a hotel. We found it to be a great value, considering how expensive hotels can be in central Paris. It's astutely decorated, with a mix of retro and contemporary charm - straight out of a Wes Anderson film. The lobby is welcoming, with a well stocked bar and lounge area in the basement. Our 'comfort double' room was cozy, but spacious enough for 2 people to spend 4 nights comfortably. There was plenty of light and fresh air with two tall windows that opened onto the street. The bathroom had an interesting layout, with half the space taken up by a relatively spacious shower, but the other half felt a little cramped, with the toilet awkwardly placed (you have to sit at an angle!). All in all, still a great room. The Aesop bath products were a nice touch, as well as the beautifully designed soap wrapper and bar of dark chocolate that came with the room, which speaks to the great design sensibility of the hotel as a whole.
But what made the experience truly wonderful was the staff. Everyone, from the front desk, to the bartender, to the cleaning staff were all super friendly, attentive and very generous with their advice on what to do and where to eat.
I would gladly stay here again on a return trip to Paris and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved our stay - Close enough to Gare Nord to walk. We had two nights in Paris and walked to most of the major sights from here (with some careful planning). The room was small but very tasteful, loved the special touches eg good quality toiletries and chocolate. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot. If you like big flashy hotels stay away, but if you like friendly and quaint this is perfect. PS I had a parcel delivered a few days before we arrived and they had no problem holding it for me
- me! (10/5): Lovely, quirky Parisienne hotel! - Lovely stylish hotel with friendly staff. My only minor irk is that they cannot offer a gluten free breakfast, but I've yet to find the French hotel that can! Buy yoghurt at the Carrefour over the road.
This place is super central and you can walk everywhere- we loved it!
- Mark (10/5): Charming, modern but classically parisian hotel - I stayed in the suite, right at the top of this brilliant hotel, within walking distance of the fantastic food shops of the rue des Martyrs and the cool restaurants and the bars around the 9e and 10e border. Room had amazing aircon, black out blinds and wonderful, comfy bed so I slept better than in my own bed back home. Didn't manage to use the bar - the weather was hot and the bar has no outside seating (which is a shame as the bar was great for breakfast - amazing croissants). The room was bright and spacious, ceilings in the bathrooms slightly low for someone tall like me. The staff were very helpful. Totally recommended and I would definitely stay again. Oh and only a short walk to the Gare du Nord.
- Karin (8/5): Great Location - This Hotel was in the perfect location for my tour departure. It was a central location and cafes, shops & transport all nearby. Room was black, which was a bit different, and very small, but there was only one of me, so I had enough room to move and do what I needed to.
