- Wally (6/5): - This place is fine if you don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the room. Shower’s cramped. Cable is almost nonexistent. You can hear every noise from the hallway in your room. The facility is a solid C. The staff is lovely. Very accommodating. A+

- Verified traveler (8/5): Cozy and convenient - Good and convenient location. The room was a bit smaller than anticipated. The shower sink and toilet were very very close together. The bed was comfy and the place was clean. Walls are thin so you can sometimes hear your neighbor and the people walking around upstairs. Check in/out was quick and easy. You also have the option to rent their bikes but require cash on you. As long as you don’t mind some sound at night and tight spaces this place is okay.

- Jeffrey (6/5): No Overnight Attendant - Stairs were steep but that wasn’t a problem. Rooms were tight which is expected but we had a fire alarm go off at 5am and nobody is on site overnight so the alarm didn’t get checked until 7am so all the guests just stood outside the entire time… No staff onsite made it difficult to call a cab since we don’t speak Dutch and if we needed anything, nobody was there. Also, we were on the 4th floor and when you open the window, there is 1 bar holding you in. You can easily slip under or fall over that bar and that’s not safe. Besides that, typical European room.

- David (6/5): - The photos of the room did not match reality. The room was furnished with beat up furniture. The walls had not been painted in many years. Trim was missing on the door frame. Old carpeting. Just generally not much care to the quality of the rooms here at all which is unfortunate because it is so expensive. The best thing about the hotel was the lift so that you don’t break your neck on the super steep staircase. The staff was nice enough and they offer a convenient breakfast. Would not recommend.

- Frank (6/5): - This is not a 3 star hotel 2 star would be generous. Longer walk from train station when raining. Noise from construction and loud banging sounds each morning from staff. Good for a night or two if saving money is key.

- Louisa (4/5): Similar to a hostel, but much more expensive! - So incredibly expensive for an incredibly poor service. We had so many issues, none where solved. The toilet was faulty, the air-con did not and nor did the wifi. They refused to provide us with any kind of refund and it transpired that they were aware of the issues before we complained and before we even arrived, but still took nearly €1000 of my money

- Hannah (10/5): - The hotel is as advertised. Check-in and check-out staff were very friendly. Mini fridge, full bed (was worried based on the 2 separate blankets in the photo it might be two twins pushed together), good water pressure in the shower. Quiet. I especially loved my window - great light, trees/pretty apartments outside, opened a little bit for fresh air without letting rain in. I was a woman traveling alone and felt very safe in the neighborhood and in the building, even at night - I barely had to turn off the busy street to get into the building. Close to the Rijk Museum, a nice large park, bike rental, post office, restaurants, tram. Pretty much right across the street from the canals. I was a little wary because the photos online were posted by the hotel in 2018 and the price was low, but my room was pretty much in the same condition (maybe a few marks on walls, etc). Elevator was out of order while I was there, but they gave me advanced notice and offered free cancellation. Stairs very steep, but that was okay for me.

- James (6/5): - The hotel is certainly conveniently located, with access to trams, to the Museumplein, to the Leidseplein, etc. all right at hand. The one-person staff was very friendly, and she even stayed late when we were delayed in our arrival. She was excellent. It was the most I've ever paid for a hotel room ($300 ), so it was particularly disappointing and frustrating that the shower was so weak (a trickle, really) as to be unusable. I know European showers are fundamentally different than American ones, but it's against a bunch of experience with European showers that I say this one was particularly bad.

- Colin (8/5): Good value - I have no difficulty recommending this hotel. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of a tram stop and there is a good variety of pubs, restaurants and cinemas nearby. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
- Mary (8/5): Comfy & Convenient - My husband and I stayed in the Hotel d'Amsterdam from the 11th to the 14th November 2019. Our first night was anything but satisfactory as the floor boards in the room above us creaked continuously when someone walked on them This continued for many hours from 5.45 a.m. We reported to Reception the next morning and Christina at Reception was very apologetic. We were given another room which was very comfortable and we would definitely return and stay here again. The breakfast was basis but we only ate there one morning. Christina at Reception was extremely helpful and pointed out several places of interest, including which trams/trains or buses to get. Hotel d'Amsterdam is well situated for getting to Museums, Bars and Restaurants. There is an excellent transport system in Amsterdam.

Breakfast was purchased one morning and it was excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel building is old with compact facilities but adequate with many upgrades. Bus 397 can be caught reasonably close to hotel which provides very good connection to the airport.

Whilst we could leave our luggage would have been nice if it had been kept in a locked cupboard rather than stored in the dinning area. apart from that no real problems. twenty minute walk to Dam square and ten to 15 minutes to main shopping area.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were given the worst room in the building. The women who checked us in actually laughed at us when they saw the room we were assigned and how much we paid for it. Room was very small but that didn’t bother us much. Very dusty. One of the halogen lights stayed partially lit even when the switch was off. No counter space in the bathroom or place in shower for toiletries. Only soap and all-in-one shampoo/shower gel. Location was good. Other staff we interacted with were helpful. Room was quite, had a window that opened to the courtyard in back (although it was covered in bird poop). You can probably find somewhere better.

- Kazia (8/5): Ok hotel - The hotel was in a great location, however the bathroom was gross. I had to buy a pair of flip flops just to use in the shower because it was so disgusting I didn't want to put my feet on the floor (also the tiles were coming out under my feet). The room itself was fairly small, especially as I had a double room and the walls definitely could do with some paint as they were extremely grubby. The staff were lovely and very helpful however, and overall my stay was fine but I wouldn't stay here again. I have stayed in nicer places for a similar price, in Amsterdam.

- Carolyne (10/5): Great little hotel in a great location! - Received a warm welcome on arrival and found the room to be fairly compact, but clean and comfortable. The location is great and not too far out - a 10 minute tram ride to Amsterdam Centraal or 30 minute walk, 15 minute walk to Dam Square, and a 2 minute walk to the buzzing bars and restaurants of Leidesplein. Don't be put off by that as the room was tucked away in a quiet road and we weren't disturbed at all. Great location for getting to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum (10 minute walk). The staff were friendly and helpful, and made our stay all the more memorable. Would thoroughly recommend. Will definitely stay there when I next visit Amsterdam.
- Nick (10/5): Great value hotel for exploring Amsterdam - The hotel was easy to reach from the Ledesplein tram stops and was in a quiet side street. The room is excellent value for a short stay holiday and the management and staff were most helpful. A much better place to stay than a hotel situated in the busy streets near the Centraal Station etc.

Having a complementary breakfast the next morning was a great touch and the room itself met our needs. There is lots to do around Leidseplein so it was handy to be so close. We walked everywhere!!! Other tourist hotspots were about 25min away.. trams however run frequently and take about 10 minutes.

The hotel rooms are very dated and small but if your after somewhere to get your head down at night it is ideal. The beds where very comfy and the room was cleaned every day. If your after a spacious hotel room then I would not recommend.
- Louise (8/5): Almost not worth the money - Pros; location, very comfy beds, generally clean, friendly staff, wardrobe and safe, staff did a good job cleaning the room, luggage hold service, LIDL 2 minutes away, 0 problems with the WIFI Cons; no coffee provided, greasy plastic spoons, TV hard to figure out with no instructions, dust under the beds, bathroom was modernised but shower door so stiff that it was very noisy to open/close, the dryer in the bathroom just fell off the tube(?) when picked up, no option to choose a room with a balcony The price of this hotel is dictated by it's location. It doesn't take much to provide clean spoons, coffee, or to replace (broken!) plastic cups in the bathroom. Simple changes would make this a good quality hotel. The location is fabulous, 3 minute walk to the bulldog bar and coffeeshop which is a great square,and there's nothing particularly terrible about this hotel, but it feels cheap.
- Billie (8/5): Excellent location for exploring Amsterdam - Had booked overnight stay in Amsterdam . Had a few queries before I arrived and they were all promptly and helpfully answered. Room was for three people and there was plenty of room in a lovely clean room which included a kettle and a fridge. All in all a very pleasant stay.and would definitely recommend. Ideal for my husband, myself and my 16 year old daughter.

- Dan & Callib (6/5): Lazy housekeeping - Extremely welcoming friendly lady on arrival who couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stay. First impressions of the room are a little disappointing but then you need to remember the amount you pay to stay in central Amsterdam! Our only real issue was with the housekeeping. Neither of us take narcotics so didn’t indulge in that side of Amsterdam but we do work hard and would have enjoyed staying in bed without being woken up before 10 each day. On one of the days the hoover was repeatedly banged against our door. Everyday we had to ask for new refreshments. But specifically we called reception at 11pm one night to be told we wouldn’t be getting any cups. My partner takes medication so we needed a cup but had to argue for twenty minutes to get him one so he could have water. My only concern is paying full price for subsequent nights and having a poorer level of service. Overall we had a lovely time and the lady who checked us in and out was amazing!! Just read the other reviews before committing to booking this hotel, it might not be for you.
- MARLENE (10/5): - My husband and I like the hotel. Flora, the front desk person, was very helpful and accommodating. She gave us tips regarding the city. The location of the hotel is quiet, safe and near tram/bus stops.as well as restaurants and grocery store.
- Joe (8/5): Nice Quite Hotel, Good location - Booking easy, check in easy, Nice room, although please note rooms are small, but assuming your are not in it for long they are absolutely fine. Staff are very friendly. The Fridge in the room is a bonus. For any one with mobility issues the stairs are step but there is a good lift.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Very close to Ledseplein and Museumplein square. - Great location, nice and clean, friendly staff. The room, restroom, and bed was very small.

- Andrew (8/5): Nice hotel but room too small - Room 44. - On one side of the bed there was only a goal of 12 inches
- Clive (8/5): Nice hotel in town centre - Centrally located ideal for all town centre and tourist attractions
