• John (3/5): Walked away from a 2-room 6 night nonrefundable reservation. IT WAS THAT BAD AND WORTH THE PAIN. - Getting out of there! The hotel condition was completely opposite the website photos. Filthy molds/mildews in the outdoor areas. Overgrown and unmanicured entry area with huge trash pile. Molds/mildews in the shower. Trash here and there. Wore out surfaces and walls. Small, cramped rooms. Management subsequently offered 5 day stay in the future, but would not compromise on a 50% refund. I visit Paris about once every 15 years! Thanks for NOTHING!

• Claire (8/5): Très bon séjour - Excellent personnel, très aimable et toujours avec le sourire. Très bon accueil. La chambre était spacieuse avec une bonne literie. Emplacement excellent, à seulement 5 minutes à pied des gares du Nord et de l’Est, avec supermarché et marché juste dans la rue. Belle entrée avec un petit jardin agréable et ascenseur fonctionnel. Chambre globalement propre, mais quelques points à améliorer. Dans la salle de bain, l’eau chaude met longtemps à arriver puis devient brûlante. Quelques traces de moisissures visibles, même si l’ensemble est propre. Le papier peint proche de la climatisation commence à se décoller. Petit-déjeuner correct mais principalement orienté sucré ; en option salée, seulement des œufs durs et du fromage à tartiner.

• Carlyn (4/5): Worked out in the end, but would avoid the hassle - The beds were comfortable and the street is quiet. It's also located near many metro stations so it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the center of the city. Having an elevator is convenient. The cleaning staff are really friendly and understanding. We came back to the room while they were cleaning and they came to find us after they'd finished to let us know when we could reenter, which was really considerate. Some of the staff were very friendly & helpful, but others had a off-putting attitude. Our initial experience was negative and had us looking for another hotel last minute until we finally got to speak to someone understanding who was able to change our room. The rooms advertise as having air conditioning but it's centrally controlled and the hotel doesn't turn it on until the middle of the summer (we stayed in May). The room got above 28C/82F at times. They told us to open the windows, but then bugs fly in. The rooms are much smaller than they look in the photos and not super clean. Generally, the hotel is overpriced for what you get.

• louise (5/5): Comfortable - The position was great to access the city and not far from the station. It needs upgrading. The wall paper was coming away from the walls. The outside areas were poor. Our coffee making facilities were not cleaned everyday or stocked up.

Luggage storage was in the earring space and not as secure as advertised. Early check in is not an option due to small size of the property and limited housekeeping staff.

Much appreciated service and friendliness from the staff. I booked a double bed room, the room seemed to have a double bed, but it felt like two single beds were joined together, which felt very uncomfortable to sleep on at night. It was hard to have a good night's sleep.

La porte coulissante était également sale, avec des traces et des cheveux.

Llegamos después de que Le Patio du Marais nos dejara literalmente tiradas, con una reserva que no se correspondía con la realidad y sin ofrecer ninguna solución. La falta de respuesta tanto por parte del alojamiento como de Booking fue absolutamente decepcionante y nos generó un perjuicio económico importante. En este contexto, encontrar el Hotel Nord Est fue un alivio. Un espacio cómodo, cálido y limpio donde poder descansar con tranquilidad después de una situación muy desagradable. El personal fue especialmente amable y cercano, algo que marca totalmente la diferencia. El desayuno, además, buenísimo. Es cierto que algunas zonas comunes podrían mejorar en mantenimiento y limpieza, pero la experiencia general ha sido muy positiva. Muy recomendable, especialmente si valoras el trato humano y la tranquilidad.

• Christina (8/5): Prima für einen kleinen Städtetrip! - Die Lage ist sehr gut, wichtige Metrostationen ganz in der Nähe, das Viertel ist eher ruhig, nicht von Touristen geflutet. Man auch zu Fuß gut in das Zentrum spazieren. Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen kleinen Seitenstraße. Unser Zimmer war zweimal noch gegen 18h nicht geputzt ( zu wenig Personal?). Wir bekamen dann durch Nachfrage frische Handtücher, Milch, Zucker, Kaffeesticks. Das Personal war aber immer sehr freundlich.

• Dorothy (3/5): Comfortable and convenient, but wouldn't recommend - hotel did not meet expected standards. - The hotel is convenient for Gare du Nord station. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet at night. The garden area at the front not welcoming on arrival, looks shabby; dirty ashtray on table in garden for the duration of our stay. The hotel is not particularly clean - communal toilet on ground floor was dirty and had no hand soap, soaking wet cloth on the floor. Reception area not clean (dusty). Marks on walls in room, scuffed door, hair in plug hole in room. Half a shower door, shower curtain put in place, grouting where old shower door had been was dirty. No hot water for 24 hours - staff not particularly concerned by this, almost dismissive. Also tried to give us someone else's luggage when we arrived to check in (after leaving our luggage earlier). Luggage stored (not securely) in lobby (not behind reception desk or in locked room). We asked for twin beds - got one large double bed and a single bed so no space in the room. Tea/milk not topped up on day two. A very disappointing stay. Most definitely will not rebook and can't recommend. Photos and descriptions on Booking.com do not match our experience.

• Beatrice (5/5): Kompetente Betreuung in aussergewöhnlicher Situation. Vernachlässigte Infrastruktur und Sauberkeit. - Die Lage des Hotels ist gut. Die Mitarbeiter sehr hilfsbereit (Notfallsituation). Die Sauberkeit: die Räume wirken vernachlässigt und ungepflegt. Im Treppenhaus liegt schmutzige Bettwäsche in Säcken auch über Nacht. Ausstattung: ein Zimmer ohne Tresor, ohne Wasserkocher. Die Zimmer werden nicht gemacht oder nur tageweise.
