Guest Reviews
- Carlos Ernesto (10/5): - They speak good English and Spanish. They are very friendly and its easy to take the METRO.
- Maristela (8/5): - Small space , but its working
- Steven (4/5): - Literie tres confortable
- Pierre (8/5): Bonne adresse à conserver - Accueil, simple, rapide, efficace. Chambre propre.
Ingen mulighed for morgenmad.
Indtjekning 0-24 hver dag.
- Ivan (10/5): - Nice
- Kjetil Magne (8/5): Nice place - Nice place for the price. Very close to the metro and easy to get around the city and to the airport. Though a little noisy in the mornings from the streets.
- Laurent (8/5): Parfait pour mes besoins - Excellent rapport qualité-prix !
- najoua (10/5): - .
- MICHEL (10/5): Tres bien - Tres bien . RAS . A part le quartier tres cosmopolite
- Sabine (6/5): - Ordentliche Verkehrsanbindung,Preis-Leistung ok, leider hellhörig und viel Verkehrsgeräusche
- Laurent (6/5): - Well basic hotel still in Paris. Painting and furnitures need repairs or need to be redone
- Yasmine (6/5): Bruyant - Très bruyant ! Hôpital à côté ambulances la nuit etc….
- Colin (10/5): - This is a good hotel for the price. The Metro #3 is literally next to the front door. There is a new modern grocery across street and plenty of cafes nearby. The room was larger than other Paris hotels that are twice the price. The bathroom is also large with a has a tub shower. If you are from the US, this is similar to a Motel 6. Clean, not perfect, no frills, but also not crowded. Staff are friendly and always available. If you can manage those expectations this is a good value as it is 1/3 the price of most Paris hotels.
- Rene (8/5): - This property was great for the price. The staff and cleanliness of the place was great. Granted the rooms are small and some of the room features (e.g. shower, windows, heater) are old, but overall it's a great place for the price.
My only complain is to be careful when staying in Room 1. The head of the bed is right against the wall shared with the staff office and it can get a bit noisy. Although it only happened 1 out of the 5 nights we stayed, I was woken up and kept up by the overnight staff talking on their phone from ~12-1:30am. Additionally, the opening/closing of the staff door around ~7am can be loud enough to wake you up if you're a light sleeper or late riser.
Otherwise, it's a great property with great proximity to the metro steps (literally right outside the door). Grocery stores 1min away, and there's an amazing pub and boulangerie right across the road. Overall, pleasant experience.
- Mario (10/5): - Muy buen servicio y predisposición del personal
- Paul (8/5): - Good room, nice staff and Metro entrance is 7 meters from the front door. I would stay again.
- Laeza Alves (10/5): Muito bem localizado!
- Sarah (8/5): - I did not expect the room yo be that small.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, quiet and very helpful staff. I had to book last minute, and I was pleased with the price. 30 minutes from Paris center.
- Geoffrey P. (10/5): Great place - If you're just looking for a place to crash this is a great place. Its clean it's got a subway right next to it so it's easy to get to. The only problem is the walls are a little thin but as long as you're not there all day it shouldn't bother you
- Rosa (2/5): - Overall terrible, mattress was sinking in the middle,
upon checking I asked for an extra pillow and I was told by a very rude receptionist that none were available,
poor lighting, our room was located right next to the reception desk and next the cleaning closet.
bathtub in deplorable conditions, the porcellan has been scraped off lots of black marks..
Stay away from this hotel.
- Richard (4/5): Basic hotel - Booked last minute for a work trip and this was the cheapest place still available. In those circumstances it was fine, but I wouldn't want to stay here for a holiday. It's a bit run down, especially the bathroom. If it's offering cheap rates and you're on a budget then it's fine, but if you're looking for anything nicer then I'd go elsewhere.
- V (2/5): - Hotel is right by the metro. That's the only good thing about it. It's right by a busy road that has loud noises all night and trucks that are big enough to shake your room. You have to sleep with the window open and the hallways are even hotter as there are no windows.
Additionally I got a room with two beds... They were two twins jammed together between two mounted night stands meaning you can't seperate them.
Long story short. Spend the extra $30 a night and get a hotel you will actually be able to sleep in comfortably.
- luke w (10/5): Nice place! - Great clean hotel. Smaller room, but for sleeping in and showering it was a great bang for the buck! Would recommend to anyone looking for a clean affordable place in a great convenient area. Very close to Metro, bus routes, and great food.
- Chika (4/5): Poor amenities - No fridge, I had to request for the room to be cleaned. Tea or coffee just for one day even though I am staying for three days.
No air condition
- Kaila (6/5): Right by the metro - The hotel was a good place to stay if you're coming to Paris and in search of affordable accommodation. The hotel is on top of the Rue de Bagnolet metro stop so travelling into the city centre is really easy. There are a few other Hipotel's in Paris so I may choose to stay at one closer to the core arrondissements next time.
- Mike (6/5): Be warned - do not go in summer. - There are several things you need to note about this hotel.
1. The reviews are correct when they say the shower w/ tub has little to no pressure and the angle of the shower head is not convenient at all.
2. The hot water runs out quickly and you have to keep changing the temperature (doesn't occur if you use the bath tap).
3. MOST IMPORTANTLY there is no ventilation/heating/air conditioner. You WILL overheat or have trouble sleeping in summer. Sure you can try to open the window, but all you will hear all night are sirens, and typical Paris traffic with beeping horns. AVOID SUMMER BOOKING AT ALL COSTS.
4. Yes the afternoon shift receptionist is rude, but I think it's just normal of the Paris worker culture (you are there because it's your job, and you get nothing out of being extra nice).
5. Location: sure it is close to the metro, but that metro (line 3) is going to add up in prices of tickets. You do A LOT of transferring.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice change - I was in London in a tiny room for 3 days before I went to Paris. When I arrived, the front desk clerk asked that i email my confirmation to them so they can register me. I found that to be odd, as he had a print out of my expedia registration on his desk. Seems "sketchy to me".
The room was a huge change from my London stay. Large bed, room had it's own bathroom, and the 2 windows looking our were large and scenic.
The room was also right outside of a metro station, so travel was easy. The hotel wifi worked, but was very slow.
The hotel also had a number of small shops nearby for food, laundry, and other services that I needed, so the location was excellent.
- Phuong Anh (10/5): Convenient and clean hotel - The stay was overall good however the Wifi connection was horrible.
- Gene (6/5): Affordable, clean, safe and convenient. - My one night was okay. For the price, you can't expect too much amenities. If you just need a place to crash, then this is the place. It's safe, clean and convenient. The metro station is right there. The reception guy was kind enough to let me check in 1 hour early.
- Abraham (8/5): Affordable, Convenient and Worth the money - Although the room is small, the staff was helpful and the heater is functioning. The wall is kinda thin as can hear the next door people talking. The hotel was near the metro. Very convenient to move around Paris. There is also a grocery store nearby to buy stuffs.
- JOE LEWIS (6/5): Great Hotel for the price - Clean room, clean bathroom, a bit small but for the money it’s a great value. The only issue I had was the poor WIFI that was incredibly slow.
- Jonathan M. (8/5): Bargain for the Money - The place was quite small, but however the staff is great, they helped us in every way they could. They where friendly, and helpful showing us how to use the metro, and getting us cabs when needed. I will stay here next time I goto Paris.
- rusty (6/5): simple, cheap comfortable - what do you want or expect for $50 euros. Very comfortable double bed, My only complaint is neighbors lovemaking which was not that interesting to hear until 4am as I told them later " You talk too much". If you have less noise neighbors I would recommend this place for sure
- Anthony (4/5): Good luck sleeping in - The location is not the greatest area. The walls are super thin and the doors are all loud so can hear other opening and closing them throughout the night and early morning. You will need ear plugs if you plan to sleep in. There is also no AC so as long as it is not a hot night, you will be OK. Rooms are not as nice as they appear in the pictures. While they are not terrible, they are nowhere near as nice. There was a TV in the room but its so small that I never even noticed it until I walk leaving. We only stayed there for a night. We got into Paris late so this was a cheap place to catch some sleep but I we moved to a hostel after that. Think about that, we left this hotel to go to a hostel. Let that sink in.
- Aikansh (6/5): Stay at Hipotel - Hotel is good. Wifi was paid..which was quite a deal breaker for me. All in all a good place with metro station just outside.
- Justin (6/5): meh - Everything here is expensive, don't eat the breakfast
- Joe G. (6/5): OK for short stay - If you're looking for a cheap, clean place to stay for a few days, I recommend it. The rooms are small and plain but clean. Breakfasts are o.k. WiFi in the room is available for a small charge. Staff are competent and courteous but not smiley faces. It is on Line 3 of the Metro with a straight shot into the metro station Republique, which connects to several metro lines. It is also a hundred meters from a tram line that connects (without transfer) to Metro Line 1. Bus down rue de Charonne takes you to lots of restaurants in the 20th Arrondissement. Hotel is adjacent to the place Édith Piaf, which does not quite do justice to that icon.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - you get what you pay ;-)
what you have to touch is clean. water in the shower changes between warm and cold all the time. location is ok and staff is good. a little noisy.
- Ali (6/5): Good place to stay. Next to the metro exit! - The shape and size of the hotel/rooms was a little funny in the beginning as is placed in a corner and shaped accordingly. In general, the hosting and sleeping there experience was good. No complains about nothing in particular. The metro exit was almost next to the hotel door.
- Justin (2/5): No hospitality received - horrible management - (1) They charge 1.50 Euros per night per person as cleaning fee which we learned about it only when we checked in. I still don't understand why they charge separate cleaning fee on top of your room cost for stay.
(2) The normal check-in time is 2:30 pm. We waited for 1.5 hours in the lobby, hoping for a possible early check-in, no one bothered to ask us whether we liked to check-in early. The old and sole clerk at the reception, named Mahmood, seemed to have no hospitality in mind, only blaming everything to his upper management from China.
(3) It seemed they don't have any air conditioning working. No control over A/C in the room anyway.
(4) Inside the closet and near the desk, the parts of wall were covered with mold.
(5) You don't pay for the entire cost for stay when you book a room. They only make pre-authorization with your credit card. You have to pay at the reception for the cost of your stay in Euros although you see the cost in Canadian dollars when you book in Expedia.
(6) Whenever you leave the hotel during stay, they ask to leave your room key at the reception with no clear explanation.
This (Hipotel Paris Belgrand) was the worst hotel I had to stay during our one month travelling through the Western Europe. (The worst hotel among our 13 hotels we'd gone through the trip.) The experience with this hotel almost ruined our happy memories of travelling Europe...
- Adelino (2/5): what can I say when the groupe rip-off to me 356 - After 3 days of stay at Hipotel Paris Belgrand group! What can I say ... I'm totally disappointed for the following reason, my girlfriend paid for 109 euro per 3 nights plus 50 euros by booking online, total 159 euros, when did my checkin the reception made me pay on the 159 euros plus EUR 187, the room cost me EUR 356 in total. I'm feeling a screw-up and I want my money back it was a total rip-off to me and my girlfriend.
- Syed (10/5): Nice hotel close to city - Happy . Close to city's center and easy transportation. Friendly people
- B I (8/5): hiphotel - overall stay ok. receptionist was helpful
- Tony (8/5): good location, good value - the hotel is right outside of exit no. 3 at Porte de Bagnolet metro stop. The room itself is small but manageable. The hotel is within walking distance to the Pere-Lachaise cemetery and numerous shops and boulangeries. I'd recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel Belgrand - Nice place to stay, even though the hotel is a bit far from city centre. One thing I would like to make a note of was the dirty nature of the bed coverings when I first moved in. Otherwise the room was nice and cosy.
- Jose (6/5): Decent hotel on the NE edge of the city. - This is not a bad place to land considering what hotels in Paris cost. Interesting neighborhood, a few good places to eat and one really great restaurant.
Room was tiny, but we spent all our time being tourists.
- Alan (8/5): You'll be as chilled as a wallowing WaterHorse - A cute & handy bolt hold in witch to base yourself on fringe of the twentieth arrondissement . Frankly, for the money, a traveler on modest budget could not, in all reason, ask for more. Indeed, they even throw in a kettle and accompanying sachets in your room (a rarity for hotels of any description in continental Europe). I won't get any complaints from this satisfied client.
- Nate (8/5): Great Hotel, Very close to the Metro - My Fiancé and I stayed here for four nights. If your looking for a fancy Hotel look elsewhere. However if your looking for affordable and clean accommodations look no further! The close proximity to the Metro makes traveling around the city super convenient.
- American Traveler (4/5): Low price...At a cost - Easy to get to this location via Metro. Surprised to see heavy scuff marks on wall. Not clean at all. Front desk was not friendly nor did they try. One Euro a day for Internet? Really!
- Dianna (6/5): inexpensive but far away from sights - It was good a lot of underground trains and buses to get to sights
- Ann (8/5): Good choice - I had an apartment rented in the area for the week, and decided to go to the city a day before, which is why I picked this hotel. I was honestly expecting a lot worse, I have a bad opinion about cheap(ish) hotels in Europe, so maybe I was pleasantly surprised and am giving this a better review. The room was big enough, I had a single. The bathroom and shower was OK. The WiFi was 3 euros, but I decided not to go for it. The breakfast was 6 euros, but again I opted out (cheaper and probably nicer breakfast spots were in the area). They allowed me to leave my bag in the dining room the next morning, which was very useful. The guy at the reception spoke decent English (didn't give him an option, my French is worse than his English). The only weird thing was that they wanted me to leave the room key downstairs before going out, and picking it up when coming back in which was really unheard of for me (though I asked around and I was told that's what they used to do in the olden days). I didn't like that, I like going in and out without talking to someone or someone knowing exactly what I'm doing. But it was OK for the night. Also, if you want to stay here, make sure you make a reservation, it'll save you 40 euros (again, I was told that was common in Europe)
- Fred (8/5): Great budget Paris hotel - My wife and I spent 7 nights in a double room and were very pleased with the room and reception staff. It was an easy 15min Metro ride to the center of Paris and a straight 15min walk to Pere Lachaises cemetery. The Metro station Porte Bagnolet is steps away from the hotel (if you are arriving from the west, go right on the platform, then take the left exit after the turnstiles). There's a Diagonal market just across Rue Belgrand open till 10pm, and a patisserie about a half block up from the market open early.
Sure, the elevator and room were small and the hand shower was somewhat inconvenient, but this is Paris. If you want to spend more money on a nicer hotel and less on food and fun, then do that. But if you're satisfied with a basic room to free up more for enjoying the city, then this hotel is a great choice.
- Traveller (6/5): You get what you pay for! - The hotel was located right next to the underground and pretty well connected. However, the room is JUST OK. I mean for the price, it is what you get. And hence, we didn't really mind it as we didn't expect to be spending too much time in the hotel either. However, the hotel staff was a little rude - when we asked him directions to the Louvre, he provided us incorrect information on trains to take to get there. We were only staying here for 1 night so that was okay, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families or travelers who care much about the ambience, decor of the room. It was PRETTY BASIC and MINIMALISTIC! Also, I wouldn't recommend this place for a longer stay (i.e. longer than 2 days).
- Mark (4/5): tired and shabby - Staff pleasant but room very tired. Bathroom had badly cracked basin and was dirty. Bed confortable and clean. On ground floor. Noise from nearby music venue.
- Tyler (6/5): Hotel Belgrande - Bathroom was a little dirty. It was fine overall but nothing special. I enjoyed the location but not the cleanliness of the hotel.
