• Robin (9/5): Nice, intimate feeling hotel that’s convenient to most sites. - Good location, helpful staff, good breakfast. Nice, comfortable room. I’d recommend Hotel Modigliani. They have an elevator and AC. Not much. If I had to critique, small shower with no place to set bath items like shampoo, etc. Also there’s limited space for luggage, but we found this to be the case in other places we stayed in Italy, too.

• angslaven (8/5): Fantastic hotel but could do with noise reduction introduced - We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the location made it perfect for seeing most of Rome easily. The staff are amazing, really going out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Our room was basic but mainly practical, the only thing for me was having nowhere to sit and apply makeup and do your hair. There are mirrors in the room, however, they don't have any surfaces near them to sit things on and are too high to sit in front of. I'm a stickler for cleanliness in a hotel and hate to even see dust on the top of curtains, but this hotel is spotless. The breakfast was lovely and would definately recommend the scrambled eggs, best I've had. There is a lovely courtyard garden to sit out in. Its location means that you don't hear the noise of traffic just the noise of the birds going about their day. Wish I'd done more research on the hotel before booking though, we hadn't realised that they did not serve food beyond breakfast apart from apperativo between 6-10pm nor is there a bar except between 6-10pm. Luckily there is a great restaurant just a few feet away which I would highly recommend. The main problem we had with this hotel is the noise. There doesn't seem to be any noise reduction used in the upper floors so you clearly hear people talking in the next room. As the floors are tiled, noise echos so when someone scrapes a chair across the floor either in an ajoining room or above you, it sounds as though its in your room. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as long as the noise thing doesn't bother you and are willing to go out for a drink and food, its perfect.
• DSNM2014 (10/5): Superb Stay in Lovely Hotel - We stayed at Hotel Modigliani for a long (UK) Bank holiday weekend from 30.04.2026 to 03.05.2026 and it was everything we wanted and more. This is a small, family run, boutique hotel in a side street away from all the hustle and bustle of the city so something of a nice, quiet, oasis without the unfriendly corporate nature of so many other establishments. Yes, our room (501) was small but what do you need when you're out all day every day. It was spotlessly clean with the super comfortable bed remade and tidied every day; the extra highlights of air conditioning and a small fridge were so welcome. We didn't have a balcony in our room, next door (502) did but we still enjoyed fantastic views across the rooftops of Rome. All the staff we dealt with, either at reception or in the breakfast room, were so friendly and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We are always happy to walk when we enjoy these city breaks and the hotel is situated approximately 15/20 mins strolling time from the Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps, about 20/30 mins from the Pantheon and about 50 mins from Vatican City or the Colosseum and getting between these main sites was enjoyable as we went through all the side streets and shopping areas which enabled us to be immersed in the full Roman experience We would highly recommend Hotel Modigliani and would be sure to stay here if we are ever back in Rome

• FarAway48137105929 (6/5): Quaint Hotel Near Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain - 4 day stay in this quaint little hotel in Rome. Situated in a quiet side street close to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Room was small and basic but adequate but the only negative thing was the lack of soundproofing - I really don’t want to hear someone using the bathroom or….. Breakfast was ok - not a great choice and probably not for me but it is a 3⭐️ hotel. Coffee and cake, yogurts, eggs, fruit - not ripe enough really, but maybe just enough to set sone people up for a morning. Nice lounge area. Perfect if you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel and out for the whole day.

Lots of choice, just wish tv wasn’t on,, Who wants to watch the doom and gloom news. Went to the hotels bar first evening, Hardly any choice and closes at 10pm though lots of bars nearby just wanted to stay in at the hotel. In a great location close to the Spanish steps and trevi fountain. All in all would recommend this hotel as not too hard on the purse strings.

• Lesley_ey (8/5): So close to being an ideal spot! - This would be an ideal place to stay if you prefer a very firm bed and don't need a dark room to sleep: the curtains let in lots of light in the morning and the A/C unit casts a light bright enough to read by when it's on. Everything else is absolutely wonderful, which is why I'm giving such a high rating despite not getting the greatest nights' sleep. All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially the outstanding folks in the breakfast room. There's a great breakfast spread and I appreciated being able to request freshly prepared eggs. The room was good, except for the aforementioned hard bed and bright lights, and the windows do a good job of blocking street noise, which there is not much of anyway. The bathroom was also good. Everything was very clean and in good working condition. One more tiny criticism is that the "garden" is pretty small and mainly seemed like a place where people could smoke. Our favorite thing was the location: on a fairly quiet street, but just a block or two from Piazza Barberini, where you can find all kinds of public transportation options. It was very easy to get to the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pincian Hill park, and many other top spots. We felt lucky to be where we were without paying an arm and a leg. We just wish we could have gotten more shut eye.

• Lane (8/5): A wonderful stay in Rome - Excellent location for a first time visit to Rome. Allowed us to see a lot centrally but also be close to Trastevere and surrounding areas. Shared entryway of “Apartment” was only slightly annoying with neighbors coming and going at different hours. But this is a nitpick.

• jackmc7437 (10/5): Weekend in Rome found a little Gem.... - Just spent city break at hotel Modigliani Rome , great little Hotel in the city center room was modern bright very comfortable bed and balcony , breakfast had good variety of hot cold choices the staff are all very helpful and friendly. The hotel is positioned close to many of the major tourist site, Trevi fountain , Spanish steps and it is also surround with bars, cafes,and restaurants. We will go back again for a city break or longer, just a little Gem of a hotel.

Localização excelente, fizemos tudo a pé e a noite com movimento e segurança. Apesar de central a rua é mais tranquila, sem muito barulho, o sono fica excelente. Café da manhã ótimo, com tudo o que se precisa pra começar bem o dia e equipe do café excelente também. Recepção OK, sempre atenta e simpática nas respostas. Quarto excelente, cama muito confortável, chuveiro excelente, tudo de bom para o descanso depois de dias cansativos. E a LIMPEZA DO QUARTO diária, isso merece um bônus na avaliação: favor dar os parabéns para essa equipe, que faz mais que o básico, está atenta aos detalhes!!! Isso fez muita diferença. Claro que tem uns pequenos detalhes (como por exemplo a falta de um local no box para colocar shampoo, sabonete e outras coisinhas) mas nada que desabone a qualidade desse hotel. Eu ficaria novamente sem pensar 2 vezes. Agradeço a todos pela excelente estadia. Gostei de tudo. Os pequenos detalhes que faltaram (muito poucos) não me incomodaram em nada a ponto de dizer que não gostei.

• I7952AIcolettec (10/5): A tasteful, tranquil oasis - We loved Hotel Modigliani. Great location, on a very quiet street but only a 25 minute walk to The Forum or a 4 minute walk to Metro Barbarini. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, with a kettle and fridge in the room and lovely hot showers. The hotel was almost full when we booked so we couldn’t get a balcony room (one of my must haves!). On arrival we were surprised with an upgrade to one of the top floor suites. It was perfect. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the rooftops with a glass of wine from the hotel’s little bar was just wonderful after a long day sightseeing. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. There is a small terrace/garden and comfortable sofas in the lounge. We are not big breakfast eaters, so for us there was plenty of choice, especially the delicious cakes and croissants. For us the hotel was perfect, and we will definitely stay again when we return to Rome.

• Lawrence (8/5): I enjoyed my stay and would stay at the hotel again. - I liked the location, quiet and price of the hotel. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The lack of a dresser for clothes. The small closet with hangars was insufficient to unpack my suitcase. The shower was a bit confining. I was woken up on several nights by noisy neighbors going to their rooms after getting off the elevator. A box of tissues would be a welcome addition to the room.
• Louise (6/5): Reasonable hotel for a short break, well situated. - The hotel is ideally situated for being able to walk to all the main tourist attractions. We walked everywhere. It is situated down a fairly quiet side road. The breakfast was good, providing plenty of choice, including cooked options, pastries, fruit, cereals. The room and bathroom was quite small but adequate. However, the room was clean and the shower was powerful. It was quite a noisy room, we were able to hear the toilet being flushed in the room above us and their shower running. We were also able to hear the people talking in the room next to us. However, we were able to put up with this.

• karen (8/5): An exceptional find! - The staff were lovely and helpful, the hotel was very clean, the room was small but had everything in it that was needed, we weren't in the room for long each day, the bed was a good size, Queen I think and comfortable. The hotel surroundings were very pleasant. The breakfast was very good and everything generally was very pleasant, the hotel is in a great location too, near many of the main sites. If I had to pick something, a little bigger bedroom, no big deal, the bathroom was very modern very clean the shower was walk-in the floor flooded slightly the first morning we were there but reported it to reception.

• JoK643 (10/5): Hidden gem of a hotel - We have just returned from a four night stay in this gem of a hotel. The location was excellent, easy reach of the Ttevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, plenty of choice of places to eat nearby. We found the rooms, a little small, but perfectly adequate, with a lovely balcony over looking the rooftops. The beds are large and super comfy. No complaints about the breakfast, particularly enjoyed the custard filled croissants 😀. I would like to thank Bruno for his help in arranging a taxi to the airport this morning after a mix up with our original transfer booking he managed to get us a taxi for 5 people and luggage in super quick time. I would not hesitate to return and would definitely recommend the Hotel Modigliani 🇮🇹❤️

• brookw2020 (2/5): Room Changed Due to Double Booking & the New Room Had a Non-Working Toilet - We booked the “garden apartment” (two adjoining rooms each with two bathrooms total) 6 months in advance. The hotel confirmed our rooms both when we booked and again via email a week before we arrived. On check in we discovered the hotel had given one of the two adjoining rooms to someone else and 4 of us were now squeezed into one room that usually hosts two people. The owner explained that the double booking was a booking software error that happens every 6 - 7 months. He moved us to the only other open room, the bigger (and supposedly more expensive) 6th floor art panoramic room. It was more spacious (but not as big as the two adjoining rooms we originally booked would have been) and only had one bathroom (instead of two). It did have small balcony with skyline views which was nice. Unfortunately the one bathroom in our new “more expensive” room had a faulty toilet that ran a lot (refilling a wall mounted tank after it was flushed). We thought it was fixed after our first night (the hotel had someone look at it while we were out for the day) but then the flushing mechanism stopped working completely (no water movement from the tank to the bowl at all) on our last night. The manager on duty told us there was nothing he could do until maintenance showed up 12 hours later (the next morning) and that if we needed to use a toilet in the night we needed to go down to the lobby bathroom (6 floors down) or we could use a bucket to pour water down the toilet in our room to “manually” flush it. He said no other rooms were open and so he couldn’t move us to a room with a working toilet for the night and that maintenance people and plumbers don’t work at night in Italy (no such thing as emergency plumbers apparently) and so there was no one they could call to fix the toilet until the morning. In addition the wi fi on the 6th floor was weak and dropped a lot, so to use it we often had to go down to a lower floor to use the WiFi. Perhaps if we had gotten the garden apartment we booked originally (2 rooms, 2 bathrooms on the ground floor which had strong wi fi), my review would be different. Instead the more expensive room we were moved to had worse amenities, faulty plumbing and less space. To be fair, the art panoramic room did have a cute balcony with a view but that did not make up for the broken toilet. Finally we were asked to pay for the room upon check in (before we saw our room and realized they had not given us the two adjoining rooms we booked). No other hotel we stayed at in Italy asked us to pay the complete bill upon check in (rather than holding our credit card number in a file and charging us on check out or just taking our credit card info on check out). That perhaps also should have been a red flag.

• Johannes Bertram (7/5): Für Rombesuch absolut zu empfehlen. - Zentral gelegen. Sehr ruhig. Sehr sauber. Alles vorhanden. Tolles Frühstück. Matratze war durchgelegen. Zimmer überheizt.
• rita (7/5): Piacevole - La posizione, lo staff Devo purtroppo segnalare la mancanza del bidet !! La cosa grave é che nelle foto delle stanze il bagno è sempre fatto vedere con bidet !!..ritengo che in Italia non si possa affittare una stanza di hotel senza avvisare che manca o dare la possibilità di scegliere
