Guest Reviews
- Lynnette (10/5): - The hotel was a close walk to all the sights, restaurants, etc. The room was spacious and clean. The building was remodeled and styled in Art Deco. The stay also included a basic breakfast buffet, and the staff were friendly- I recommend it!
- Olaf (10/5): - Really comfortable bed and pillows. Just be aware of mosquitoes - use the repellent provided in the room.
- Joseph (8/5): - The property clean and staff professionals!
- Rosita (8/5): - It is very good property for this price . Plenty of dining options nearby, a few minutes' walk from 2 water transport stations, about 10 minutes' walk from St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge
- Joseph (8/5): Nice visit... would stay again. - Nice place, typical of Venice.. it is not a hotel, rather it seems almost like a Air B & B in which you pick up your keys if you get there past two. Staff were helpful. We got lost, due to my cell phone in the narrow streets for some reason. We figured it out and used the son's phone.. also, use google maps.. not Waze. I did not spend the time to learn the water Taxis before arriving, they are a very nice way to get around.
- Tessa (8/5): - The hotel is very well placed for getting around Venice, near the famous sites, but quiet. The.staff are helpful and the rooms are more than adequate for the price.
The slight downside is the stairs to the attic rooms are very steep and the public areas sometimes smelt a bit of drains, despite the fact that the hotel was very clean. It might just be Venetian drainage systems!
- Joseph (8/5): - Hotel is boutique, very quiet in daytime, little noisy at night until about 11:00pm. Nice central located.
- carolyn (10/5): - Beautiful room and stay with lots of character. Helpful, friendly staff. Location is very convenient.
- Edgard (10/5): - cleanliness
- Ed (10/5): - The property is maybe a 10 minute walk from St. Marks Square. There’s a nice restaurant for dinner within 10 feet of the hotel. Breakfast was tasty. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room had AC. If we’re ever back in Venice we’ll stay here again.
- Mary Ann (10/5): - Property was great it was clean had all you except in a hotel or B&B breakfasts were great and staff was nice knowledgeable and friendly. The location is a little difficult to navigate even with google maps but after 2 days it got much better. I would recommend
- S (10/5): - Excellent hotel.
Really central in a great area.
Check in and check out very easy.
Room was great, very clean, comfortable bed!
And despite it being in a lively area, it was so quiet.
Would go back here again!
- martine (10/5): - Very nice hotel, very clean. Great staff. Good location close to boats landing
- Anthony (6/5): Experience - Room was much smaller than pictured, was like l being in an attic, no view or possibility of fresh air. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, great location
- Susan (10/5): - Locanda Art Deci was very clean, bed was very comfortable, great location and an excellent choice. Would highly recommend
- Jeremy (10/5): - Perfect place to spend the night. staff was really friendly and hotel was clean. AC in the room kept it nice in cool during a very hot day.
- Cameron (10/5): Handy location without being in the ‘thick of it’ - This was a really quiet feeling hotel. Not a huge number of rooms.
This suited us perfectly. You are around a 10-15 minute walk to either Rialto bridge or San Marco. Once you’ve walked it a couple of times it all starts to make sense.
The two locations mentioned above are pretty much always busy. Back where the hotel is - is much quieter - but still has bustle and eateries.
We found a great pizza takeaway for some cheap dinner one of the evenings.
Breakfast was decent. We only had communication with one member of staff - who was always helpful.
If you read all the ‘if you check in after 2pm’ the reception is closed - don’t worry. We were on time - but lots of others over the time we were there managed.
This is a hotel we would stay at again.
If you want somewhere quiet after a busy day - this is for you.
- Eva (4/5): - Very outdated, dark and gloomy. In one word depressing. The room didn’t even have a chair to sit on never mind the bed with the mattress that it was sloping to one side so you kept falling down off it. The stuff was good though and very helpful
- Sara (8/5): - Great stay, great staff & great location. Our favorite restaurant was El Vaporetto, great food and ambience.
- Borivoje (10/5): - AC is terrible. I think Italy don’t believe in AC in general.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely hotel only 10 mins from St Marks square. Very charming and full of character. It's a bit rickety and lots of steps but that's Venice for you!
- MIGUEL (8/5): - Convenient location
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent small hotel - Beautiful 500-year-old building, superb location 10 minutes walk from Saint Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge, and everywhere. Very good espresso machine, unlimited coffee in the morning with a beautiful breakfast. Gorgeous, antique wood furniture and local art in every room. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Karen (8/5): - The location of Locando is perfect for exploring the heart of Venice. A short walk brings you to St Mark’s square. San Angelo water bus stop is moments away…as is Rialto bridge.
The hotel entrance is subtle, down a quiet alley. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it. The art deco decor is expressed through furniture pieces and some art work.
The staff was helpful and sufficiently welcoming.
The complementary breakfast is ok - we stuck to the cereal. Good coffee, and fresh drinks.
The room we had on the 2nd floor was quaint, and I liked that I could leave the windows open for fresh air, or close the shutters for black out.
We had just what we needed to be comfortable - although the bed was a tad firm, as were the pillows, which were heavy with memory foam but did not hold shape for me. We slept as well as possible given our jet lag.
Just 2 doors down was a wonderful gelateria, and the osteria had great food. Skip Le Cafe, a busy place on the local square.
We would stay again.
- Andrea (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Locando Art Deco! The owners are lovely people who welcome you in and take good care of you. We enjoyed the breakfast and the property was quaint and beautiful. When we arrived we pressed the buzzer and the owner responded immediately buzzing us in and letting us know where to locate our keys. Super easy! Absolutely beautiful setting in the art district with walks nearby with an accomplished pianist playing with the windows open…such a wonderful experience! It was near a valopretto station for our water taxi pick up back tot he airport so that was great. Restaurants nearby were excellent. Shopping in the area and cafes were great.
- Janice (10/5): Artdeco - The hotel was classy. The furniture was beautiful. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Location was perfect.
- Aaron (10/5): Cool hotel in great location - Great location. Friendly Staff, Clean room/bath. Cool room, little small but cool.
- Jamshid (10/5): - Great location. Nice old building. Great staff. Good breakfast. 1 mile to train station. Remember you don’t need boat to get to the hotel. You can walk it.
- Bobby (10/5): - We had a great stay!! The property manager was very welcoming and gracious. Our room gave us the comforts of home but with the unique and charming feel of Venice. We will be back next year!
- Bradley (10/5): - Great locations staffs were helpful and friendly. Free breakfast and welcome wine but we were not able to drink. Clean facility
- Sajjad (10/5): - Area good, staffs perfect, our room condition also good, thanks!
- BRIAN (8/5): - Easy to get to from the train station. Nice decor. Walk out the door and turn right and it’s all there. Great location. Easy check in. Helpful staff.
- Vicki (8/5): Venice visit - Wonderful location, clean, breakfast was great. Rooms are spacious, beds were comfortable. It could do with a fan for heat and air circulation and screens as mosquitos were out in full force. Lovely stay, would stay again.
- Ali (10/5): - It was a great experience!
- Carol (10/5): - Charming hotel with Art Deco art and furniture. Room was quite comfortable. While it was of no consequence to us, it is a walk up to the room. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Jeffery (10/5): - Great staff and friendly interaction.
- Malcolm (10/5): - Great neighbothood
- Jean Francois (10/5): Great location - Nice hotel in Venice. Close to restaurants and bars, less than 5 min walk from Sant'Angelo boat station. Easy to walk to Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco. Breakfast was nice with good coffee. Few seats outside the room if you want to read or other. We would go back.
- Lori (10/5): - The hotel is in a great location! Very convenient to the Academia Bridge, San Marco Square, and 2 vapperetto stops. The staff was very friendly & helpful, and our room was large and quite lovely.
- Erwin (10/5): - Positive stay. Thankful for their flexibility with check-in and checkout.
- Joanne (6/5): - Well located and clean but reception only open from 0730-1400. Not clear on the website, and perhaps not as good for solo travellers as advertised.
- Anna (10/5): Great place in Venice! - Great little place in an excellent location, clean and comfortable, with friendly staff.
- Maureena (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay.
- Robert (8/5): - The room has an extra single bed, which is a nice feature if you travel with a young child.
- Jon (8/5): - No elevator, can be a challenge for some.
- daniela (10/5): - Very clean and well located property, professional staff, good breakfast.
- Eladia (10/5): - All conditions excellent
- Tigran (10/5): - An excellent hotel. Charming and helpful staff. Convenient location in the heart of Venice, charming art devo design. Breakfast is very good. Recommend to intelligent people.
- Yong (10/5): - I like the art decoration in the lobby and room, and the complimentary wine. The front desk is very nice.
- Borivoje (10/5): - Rooms are little small, good breakfast, good location, nice and friendly stuff.
- Mayra (10/5): Small but great! - The hotel was small but very comfortable. Very good location to everything. Very clean and breakfast great.
- Mark (8/5): - Hotel was good place to stay but difficult to find but instructions provided by the hotel go us there.
- Irina (8/5): - The location of this lovely little hotel is excellent, about 10 minutes walk to the St. Marco square. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast is served 8-10am. The bathroom was a pretty tight space, not as comfortable, but it had everything we needed. I would recommend the place.
- Leanna (10/5): - Great stay! Clean rooms, nice breakfast, friendly staff and a lovely location
- Marc J (8/5): - The room was extremely small, but would do the job.
- Christopher (10/5): - Nice location, beautiful small hotel, courteous staff. First time in Venice, couldn’t ask for any more out of a hotel. Recommended.
- Teresa (8/5): - Loft room not a lot of ceiling space, felt a little claustrophobic location was good & nice breakfast easy check in.
- Cara (8/5): - The character of the property was beautiful and fun. The staff were lovely and helpful! We enjoyed our stay immensely.
- Anthony (10/5): Wonderful, niche, great 👍 - Wonderful owners and service from staff, so very friendly, grat room, fabulous bathroom, gorgeous breakfast, we really did enjoy our stay, close and convenient, made our visit relaxed and enjoyable 😉
- Chong Ping (10/5): - Its a hidden gem!
- David (10/5): - Fabulous hotel in great location. My partner and I stayed there for three nights for my 40th birthday celebrations. Room was very clean, warm and well decorated. Breakfast was good too.
The manager was really nice and offered advice on tourist attractions. She also remembered my birthday and wished me a happy birthday at breakfast.
The location was great with some nice restaurants nearby, but to mention my new favourite bar the aperol terrace :)
I would stay here again on my next trip to Venice.
- Michael (8/5): - Very nice place
- Ronald (10/5): - We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the location was really good. They sent us a directions and a walking map on the day before we arrived. I highly recommend this hotel
- Leila (10/5): - My luggage was lost I need your help
- Alex (10/5): - Friendly staff. After a 15 minutes rainstorm, they let us borrow their umbrellas. Really useful.

Triple room snug for 3 people stale smell in room
Breakfast good
- Shobhit (10/5): - Perfect location and great staff
- Douglas (10/5): - We felt like we were in a centuries old apartment with 21st century amenities. Loved it!
- Manuel (10/5): - Excellent location and very clean and nicely decorated
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly
- Debarghya (6/5): Don't keep huge expectation, it was OK - You get what you paid for. We stayed 2 days and opted for superior double room and we were put into economy double room (due to technical difficulty, as stated by receptionist), when asked to change, we were told that room cleaning service is not available, so room can be changed next day only. Unnecessary hassle to leave your bags packed, so that next day the room service can alter your room when you are not around. Breakfast starts at 8am, we asked for 7am as we had a day trip scheduled, we were helped with some biscuits, the art & decor is classic, but rooms are not much tidy, the boiler in the bathroom only helps one person to take bath, the next person has to wait for 15mins to get hot water again. Reception is closed in afternoon and guests are given a key to the main door. Do not expect any room service in need. The only good thing is with the price you pay, you get to stay and breakfast, otherwise do not be so hopeful. The receptionist seemed to be helpful, but you get answers only what you ask for. In other places, usually people help you with the local map or convenient options, but here it was not upto the mark. There is a little bit of ignorance to the guests you will always feel.
- Andrew (10/5): Great location! - Loving hotel in an amazing location. We loved staying here because it was away from all the crowds of Venice but still had tons of restaurants and things to do close by! Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The decor was unique.Good location.Very satisfied with our stay.
- Linda (8/5): - Good location, clean hotel with nice staff
- Chris (10/5): - Nice people. Good location with a nice room. Breakfast was good. Just a good all around experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Small. Small rooms. Not covenient area.
Nice people.
- Fernando (10/5): - Everything was perfect
Cristina help us a lot.
If I come back I will state in the same property
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful cozy place that is well located with friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Venice!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel was just fine. We only stayed one night and we wanted somewhere affordable and conveniently located and thats just what we got. Everything was clean and fit our needs for one night there. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was just so so though.
- Shawna (10/5): Cozy and unique - A cozy, unique property within walking distance of some of the great Venice sights. The staff seemed to care a lot about the comfort and happiness of the guests.
- Laurie A (8/5): Great location - Great location, friendly staff/ easy check in. Would stay there again.
- JS (10/5): - Great location in the heart of Venice. decent sized rooms with good breakfast provided by helpful and attentive staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, spacious bedroom and nice decor. Missed a fridge in our room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a small but very nice and clean hotel in the center of everything. Friendly staff and nice breakfast and the staff gave is the info we needed. For sure we will come back in this hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A Hidden gem close to all main attractions (8/15 min), super clean room, comfy bed, hot water, air-conditioning, quite street for a great sleep, close to vaporetto station (3 min), good breakfast included, Helpful staff. Great value for money! I would definitely be back to this great place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small cozy hotel with a lot of charm. Extremely friendly staff (Galina). Air conditioning was minimal.
- corine (10/5): Loved it - Wonderful
- Kimberly (10/5): Great place, great location - The location of this place is amazing. You walk out right onto one of the squares. There are restaurants within a few feet of your door. They have memory foam pillows too! I felt so spoiled with their little toiletries they provided for us. They had a little kit with q-tips, shower caps, washcloths, etc. There's also some umbrellas by the front door in case it rains. They room is very big and the air conditioning works very well. The breakfast is very good, even though it is small, it has plenty of good food. I loved this place and would definitely stay here again.
- Almee (10/5): Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Staff - This is a great hotel in a great location. Kristina was very helpful and accommodating. I will take this hotel every time I go to Venice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not a bad option for Venice - Not a bad option in Venice. 10+ min max walk to main Square - good location and easy to cross the main river. Easy to check in even after hours. Rooms are quite old, but are comfortable. Washrooms are small, but do have lots of hot water. Breakfast is VERY mediocre - I would recommend this hotel making a better effort for this. Service is fine. No lift so stairs only.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I would highly recommend this property! It’s central to all the places you want to be in Venice. The hotel is small, and quaint, but perfect. Do note, the rooms are quite small, especially if you are use to American hotels. However, the place is immaculate, and it has a nice breakfast. There is a great gelato place a few meters from the place. They are open late which is a plus! I would definitely stay here the next time I visit Venice!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We chose this hotel for its location and it was great. The room whilst large lacked a few basic amenities such as a bar fridge.
Overall though it was a good experience during our time in Venice
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice boutique hotel in San Marco...25 minutes walk from Santa Lucia Train station....15 mins walk to St. Mark's square...friendly staff...nice rooms...a bit understaffed...need to improve the breakfast
- Meryl (8/5): Charming B&B - This is a great place to stay! It is a charming little B and B. They are very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is very nice. The location is great also, close to San Marco square and also to the vaporettos. My only issue was I would have like the air conditioning a little colder but I am glad we had air conditioning.Internet service is offered but it is spotty. Would definitely recommend staying here.
- daniel (10/5): - comfortable, clean, good location, good breakfast, nice staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My only complaint is that you don’t get what you see on the photo posted. The room we got was half the size as the one is posted and breakfast was very limited.
In another words we paid for Cadillac and got a Chevy.
Christina at the desc and the solo employee was excellent and very helpful..
