Guest Reviews
- ELIZABETH (10/5): - Great place to stay
- COURTNEY (2/5): - If I could give zero stars I would! I don’t know HOW this place is open! I have pictures of dead mosquitos all over the walls of the room, the AC did NOT WORK IN THE ENTIRE BUILDING!! The staff was either not there or did not care at all about any concerns!! It’s a total scam! I don’t know how it has a 7.2 rating on Expedia!! Terrible! The shower had mold and was broken. The wifi never worked. The place and the sheets seemed dirty. I woke up to mosquito bites all over me. I want to report this place to the health department. Total scam! Don’t stay here!! When I told the people working there while I was checking out, they said come back at 12 and talk to the concierge!! But he was not helpful and again didn’t care. They just want your money. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. You’re better off at a hostel!
- Gary (2/5): - the pressure of the water was very low my room was clean once when I was there there dirty on my hotel room and there was light bulb were missing
- Azeeza (2/5): - Please dont go there
No air conditioning
And foul smell
They said they air conditioning but not working it seems
- Subha (5/5): Passable - it was situated near the train station, very easy access. the air condition does not work at all.
- Khulan (1/5): Bad -

However, the old Italian man at the reception, who didn't speak English, kept yelling at us loudly and demanding we leave the room. We were staying there for three days, so we didn't have to check out every day. - Liga (1/5): Bad - Location No way it’s a 2 star hotel, wouldn’t stay again and wouldn’t recommend
Hosts were nice but it’s very limited what the one can do with the place in the state it is unfortunately
- Melissa (7/5): A place to sleep for one night. - Basic accommodation at more affordable price for Venice. Could do with some maintenance, doors are very loud scraping on the floor.
- Klaus (3/5): DO NOT STAY THERE - We needed a place close to the train station as we had a 6am flight to catch and I didn't want to walk through Venice with my luggage at 3am. It was the cheapest place near to the train station which is why I booked it. BIG MISTAKE Sadly I only read the Google reviews about bed bugs after booking it. I bought a spray and sprayed the mattress but by 2am both of us were itching all over our body. Luckily we only slept for 3h in the bed and were glad to leave.
The mattress is also pretty uncomfortable and the AC only blows some hot air into the room and is very inefficient.
The best feature was probably the bathroom
- Juana (2/5): - Don’t stay here there’s bed bugs. When I talked to the staff if it was possible to switch rooms. He mention that all rooms have bed bugs.
- Ian (4/5): - Sadly, I can’t give a full review, because I never actually got to stay.
The air conditioning had already been out for three days before I arrived, and despite the staff being friendly, the best solution offered was: “Just open the windows.”
Fair enough, except the windows looked directly into the rooms across the alley. And while I’m no prude, I figured the neighbors didn’t sign up for a live, unfiltered view of me in my birthday suit.
They said maybe the AC would possibly be fixed by Monday (another three days), but for the sake of comfort and public decency, I found another place to stay.
- Kadri (7/5): A decent place to sleep in a convenient location. - Very conveniently located near the trainstation. It was very quiet in my room. The aircondition worked well and by closing the shutters I had a calm and dark sleeping space. My room had a balcony but it was not tidy - they could clean it and arrange it into a nice place to step out of the room.
- Jessica (1/5): I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The property falsely advertised air conditioning—when my family and I arrive - This property was about a 7 minute walk from the train station. This property advertised that it was air conditioned, but when we entered our room it was boiling hot. I turned on the supposed individual air unit at 9:30 p.m. to cool the room while my family and I went to get dinner. We were out for 2 hours and when we returned the room was warmer than when we left. I contacted the host through booking.com, called the number listed on the reservation several times, and even knocked on the door labeled as “night service,” but still no response. By this time the room reached 90°F, which became unbearable. Our room was very inconveniently placed as open windows provided nothing but access for mosquitoes. After 2 hours of attempting to contact someone who worked at the hotel, my family and I had to search through Venice for somewhere else to stay. I was traveling with my elderly grandmother who suffers of high blood pressure and the heat was affecting her terribly. At 1:45 am we found another hotel that had availability (but cost a fortune). We had to leave, but before leaving we left a note stating the room we were in, our situation, and asked them to contact us as soon as they read the note (with contact information provided). Then came the next morning and no one had contacted us. Instead, my mother had to go into the hotel and ask them what was going on. At the end of it all, they did not have another room for us and refused to refund us, instead directing us to contact booking.com. We are still awaiting a response from booking.com on the matter.
- Maria (6/5): Pleasant - The location Old furnitures, too expensive
- Nazerke (5/5): Passable - There’s no toilet paper
They could’ve also put liquid soap at least to wash hands after toilet, it costs a little, but we had to ask for it, and they gave a little one time soap for all of us
There are no enough spaces to charge the phones, so I had to charge it outside the room in the corridor on the floor
- Diane (2/5): - Run, Don't walk away from this property!!!! We stayed in Room#4 and our friends stayed in #14. Many updates are needed here--the a/c unit in both rooms will blow cool (not cold) air for about 5 minutes, then they just blow air. The toilet seats were anchored to the bowl with 1 screw (in both rooms) In Room #4 the bed was so low to the floor that we might have just slept on the floor!! The mattress had things poking through the mattress. Also the mattress was stained. (see pics) The lamp on the nightstand tables -1 was missing the globe. (see pics) All in all 4 of us we were very uncomfortable for 5 nights we were there. Besides the walls & ceilings being in disrepair, with broken plaster from previous leaks, this Hotel needs an overhaul. Very Disappointing.
- Jamal (10/5): Delightful - Great location, helpful staff, and clean cozy room. Will definitely stay here again.
- E (4/5): - Although this was one of the most affordable options, the stay was not cheap and we were expecting at least a nice place to stay. I’m pretty sure we got bedbugs from the room. Additionally the bathrooms had a terrible smell and I was not sure the last time they were cleaned. It was supposed to be smoke free but the downstairs foyer smelled like smoke. At the end of our trip, the power kept going out just in our area. Although we appreciated that the hotel let us shower in the main hotel (as there was no hot water due to the power outages), it seemed like there was no urgency nor responsibility for the issues we faced.
- Daisy (7/5): Good location to stay - The location is very near the Train and water bus station There’re blood spots in the blanket, maybe it’d been reused without wash
- Olivia-rose (6/5): Pleasant - Great check-in, perfect location and in general an okay place to stay for a night or two I don’t believe it was the best value for money, as we found ants all over the floor and climbing onto the bed in the morning when we were packing up to leave
- CLARA (6/5): - Loved proximity to train and canal. Too bad the air conditioning didnt work.
- John (2/5): - It should be criminal to allow anyone to stay at this property. I consider myself a pretty fair and honest person and I’m telling you. DO NOT stay here unless you want to live a nightmare! We had just finished our cruise and needed one night. We saw that the place had air-conditioning and it was a tad bit cheaper than some of the surrounding hotels. The reviews weren’t the best, but we only really looked at the stars and unfortunately never read them. BAD MISTAKE! First off it is a grueling task alone just to get your luggage up the stairs. It is a long flight of very dark and steep stairs. That was the least of our worries as we entered the room that was absolutely filthy with dead mosquitoes everywhere and live mosquitoes flying everywhere. You do NOT have your own bathroom. They are communal bathrooms( 2 on our floor). There was no toilet paper in our bathroom/ towel racks, and no phone to call the front desk(which is an entire different building) We tried to turn the AC unit on and it was broken. It was sweltering in our room, so we went down to the front desk and ask that they fix it. The guy came up and said 4 other rooms units are broken as well and there’s nothing he can do about it because the gentleman who fixes them was not available. I kindly asked for a refund so we could go to a hotel with air-conditioning and they refused. We were forced to open the windows at night, where there was pigeons all over the place and poop everywhere and LOUD. I could go on and on!!
- Nirmal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sandra (8/5): Great visit and I’ve stayed here before - Location. Ease of check in. Friendly staff Room 12 has a sink faucet issue in the room
- Mudassar (2/5): - Hotel rooms are not cleaned regularly. Congested rooms only with 3feet small beds, full of bed bugs around, black fungus everywhere. No cleaning, no fan, no AC, windows broken, rooms full of mosquitoes. Matress almost 100 years old. Reception and management make false promises, no one present at hotel to talk to when in emergency or to complaints. I strongly recommend all, to consider health and safety of you and kids, and avoid avoid this at all costs a I checked out in 2 days due to safety issues, still waiting for refund which was promised but hotel don't bother replying. Someone need to contact police to close this hotel, as it's running by someone in Rome, not willing to talk to customer. Pathetic, worse stay of my life.
- Montreal (4/5): We are never coming back. - Location was close to train. Where do I begin? There was no elevator so we dragged suitcases up a steep staircase. WiFi hardly works. The air conditioner was broken, but the remote was not; the staff person said it was working but it was clearly broken. An electric fan would have been fine. The were no windows so it was stuffy. There was a door that opened to a dirty and cluttered rooftop. The room looked cheap with shabby furniture painted flamingo pink. We didn’t feel safe leaving the rooftop door open at night. Overall, it was not worth what we paid for.
- Alonso (3/5): Poor -
- Kayleigh (6/5): Happy to stay again - Really easy to get to from the station, on our favourite side of town, run by nice people and clean. It’s basic but it’s as per the photos and I’d say great value for being in Venice.
- Shrestha (9/5): Superb -
- Sonia (10/5): - Todo estaba super limpio
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Location is a plus.
- Phattharaphon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ajeetkumar (1/5): Bad -
- Verified traveler (6/5): 2 Star Expectations - Hmmmm, where to start.......
Service: Best part of the stay. The front desk man was very nice and approachable.
Location: Super close the the train station (5min) and bus station (30 min). Awesome location in general.
Comfort: We got a room with a private bathroom. Bed was dated, but comfortable.
Cleanliness: Like others have mentioned, there were some squashed mosquitoes on the walls. There is some mold on varies places. The furniture, curtains, etc look like originals.
Overall: This place is a 2 star hotel. Curb your expectations as such. If the plan is to venture out during the day and only come back to sleep you are golden. If you want to spend any time in your room, spend the extra 100 bucks or so to spend a night at a nicer hotel.
- Ronald (1/5): Bad -
- Hendrik (1/5): Terrible place to stay in Venice!!! - This was a disappointing stay. While the receptionist was friendly and welcoming, the room itself was a disaster. It was outdated, the beds were old and uncomfortable, and the overall condition of the building—especially inside the room—was poor and in need of serious renovation. Definitely not what I expected or hoped for!
We checked out immediately and booked another hotel... waste of our money!!!
Make sure before booking this hotel it is what you want!!! Everything!!!!!
- Hui (5/5): Not really worth it - Location Too pricy, poor communication with staff
- Анастасия (6/5): Pleasant -
- Winnie (6/5): - The Adua was very close to the train station and super convenient to go anywhere in Venice. It’s just a bit old and run down but big queen bed and clean. Not many places to put down your toiletries or hang towels. Real simple and great for a few nights in the city.
- Kanakaratna (7/5): Venice is my fairy tale dreamland. - Good location and good pricing The prices are fluctuate. It increased exuberantly the very next day
- Marina (5/5): Stuff throwing bags of bedclothes down the stairs around 3:40 - Perfect location At 3:40 in the morning somebody from the stuff started making noise, throwing bedclothes from the top floor, down the stairs. That was very unprofessional and irritating, we had a long trip ahead..
- Milagros (5/5): Passable -
- Milagros (5/5): Passable -
- Christine (6/5): - The staff was helpful and allowed us to check in early. The best thing about the hostel was the location as it was right in the heart of Venice. It is a beautiful city and very walkable.
- Kauane (9/5): Superb -
- vanessa (2/5): - DISGUSTING, DO NOT STAY!!!!! the reviews of this hotel absolutely deceived me. i booked last minute which was my fault. the great location, low price, and private room was enticing. however this is the worst hotel ive ever stayed at. BUGS BUGS BUGS!!!! ANTS MOSQUITOS FLIES!!! Dusty lamps! One is even bedazzled by some previous guest. They did not bother to replace it. Gross bathrooms that are not deep cleaned. The grout is stained orange (sign of bacteria) The bath mats look extremely worn.
There was a dead smooshed fly on the wall when I checked in. Cleaning service came in after and did not clean this. There was a bottle cap in my room as well after I checked in. When I asked for compensation it was ignored, and was just met with a guy that sprayed the area for ants. Check in was also extremely strange. The guy was clearly in a rush and showed everything to me very quickly. I found it rude and abrupt. I felt like I was chasing him with heavy luggage down the alley and up the stairs. Please if you care about your sanity do not fall for these reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!
- Chimeg (4/5): Disappointing -
- Cyril (10/5): - Was good
- Andre (7/5): All in all: it is recommended, when you know what to expect - Great location when arriving with a lot of luggage or kids ... or both, as we did. Regarding this, the early check-in was much appreciated! There are steep stairwells, but this is to be expected. The room was reasonably clean and (most importantly) towels and sheets were spotless; also basic toiletries are provided ... but we had to buy our own toiletpaper, before being asked after two days, if we require housekeeping (which is not a daily/regular service). There is a small Smart-TV with all the usual apps and the WiFi is good as well - there is also an AC-unit for cooling/heating, but we did not use that. Windows are new and noise canceling, but walls are rather thin - hence, If you have neighbors you will hear them (without earplugs). Beds are OK, but not great. We ended up in this place after a short notice cancelation at our original hotel, hence the price was not low, but in a range to be expected for the location, quality and short term booking. All in all: it is recommended, when you know what to expect. We had to buy our own toiletpaper.
If you have neighbors you will hear them (without earplugs).
Beds are OK, but not great.
- Voto (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing, the room is great, very cozy and clean, so are the bathrooms. Went with a friend and we have no complaints, I would recommend.
- Rham (9/5): Superb -
- Soares (4/5): Amazing location and that's it. - Amazing location, perfect place to be in the heart of Venice. And even being in the center, is quite silent and quiet. Not the most clean place and issues with the plumbing.
- Azin (7/5): Good -
- Jolie (2/5): - Once we arrived, we learned from the front desk that our room was not even in the hotel, it was in a sketchy side alley. We also learned that the bathroom was not in the room but in an outside hallways shared with other guests! Both these details were not clear when we were booking online.
- Christina (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (7/5): Good -
- Anne (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kareem (9/5): Superb - The hotel was excellent! Very clean and great value for the money. Location was great too - easy access to the vaporetto or walking throughout Venice
- Paweł (8/5): Very good -
- Alexey (5/5): Passable - The room was rather basic but I had a good rest over the night as I was quite tired.
Location is convenient to explore Venice by foot. Some areas (like table, wardrobe) were not so clean. Some noise during the night from the neighboring rooms.
- Moushan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donald (9/5): I had extended my stay with two additional nights - Every thing is close and hotel is easily reached by train bus even by water craft The main hotel was just as advertised
- Donald (9/5): I extended my stay with two more nights and come back next year - Proximity to everything of Venetian interest and convenience. EVERYTHING! Being a budget establishment I did not expect an elevator nor a kettle or fridge in the room or even a hair dryer. A microwave is not an essential in all of Italy. I still like it!
- Natalia (7/5): Good -
- Marcos (8/5): Very good -
- Anisim (8/5): Good enough to spend night in Venice during masquerade! - VERY FRIENDLY STAFF!!!
They allow us to check in earlier, and keep our luggage till next evening (we stayed only one night) and did not charge for it!
It was not bed, after all! Price was high, but it time of masquerade in Venice...
Not very clean, but acceptable.
Can recommend if you will not expect much!
- Hanh (4/5): - Nice service but property is old not clean
- Cheng (9/5): Superb -
- Donato (8/5): Lovely, quite, amazing. - The location in the city of Venice is really convenient. Not far from central train station and close to the center.
The building, with his facade, is really historical one. Masonry structure and decoration make you feel like you are in the XVII century. The picture on the advertisement for the bedroom seemed you were going to have a room with a balcony/window facing outside, on the main road. Indeed the room we have got had the window facing the facade of an other building, across a very narrow street. So, we were disappointed not to have a window on the main road, like in the advertisement.
- Chadly (5/5): Passable -
- Mahi. (2/5): Insects in bed - The location The bed was really dirty and had insects inside. It was really painful. I contacted them , but they didn't reply.
The host was friendly but staying there was really disappointing
- Krizzele (9/5): Superb -
- Lien (7/5): Good - Good location, reasonable price and nice staff Poor facilitis in room. Hotel should have hair dryer at least at the reception for who want to borrow to use
- Adwayatananda (5/5): Passable -
- Miklós (7/5): Staff was very kind and helpful - Very close to the railway station bed is too soft, matresses too soft
- Clodagh (7/5): Good -
- Subath (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ankit (7/5): Good -
- Oscar (9/5): Superb -
- Krajnak (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great There was no toilet paper..
- Chelsea (7/5): Good - Central location and clean, comfortable space for a few nights in Venice. the terrace outside our room was quite dirty and lacking love. it would have made an amazing feature to our stay if there was some nicer outdoor furniture or at least clean floor.
- Aiden (7/5): Good -
- Diego (8/5): Very good -
- Keshan (8/5): Great location, friendly staff, nice and clean room - Great location, helpful and friendly staff, room is clean and tidy. No breakfast
- Fran (6/5): Good location - Convenient location for airport bus and train station. Good for exploring Venice by foot and water bus. The heating and hot water were good. The annex is a completely different building and it seems to be a different standard to the main part of the hotel which I hadn't realised when I booked.
- Shwu-wen (7/5): Location is good. - Location is good. Some corner of our room is not very clean. And bathroom is cold.
- Kimia (7/5): Good -
- Lily (7/5): Good -
- Roman (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mohammed (1/5): Bad - Room was not provided in the main hotel building even I booked long time ago. Accommodation provided besides the hotel building in Apartment. Not recommended
- Ömer (7/5): Good -
- Saikat (8/5): Very good -
- Giovanni (7/5): Good -
- Sambit (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carmela (8/5): Very good - It was ok, great location and the staff were helpful. But with a few minor facilities our stay would have been better.
For example a hanger in the shower/toilet and the facility to make some hot water for a coffee
- Menno (7/5): Good -
- Dydyk (4/5): Only passable for one night - The location is easy to get to. The bathroom was ok. It was nice that they provider toiletries. The room is small and it could look better, the furniture is very old and looks damaged.
