- Laura (10/5): - Wonderful stay, staff were so helpful and friendly. We stayed in the annexe which was lovely bright and airy with a small lounge and garden area. The annexe was only about 20 steps over a little bridge from the main hotel, had a secure pin coded door and was lovely and quiet. Our room had a lavazza coffee pod machine with a selection of coffees filled up daily along with a shaded terrace area which was very welcome in August. The whole hotel was spotless, i didnt see a speck of dust - amazing for a 3 star hotel compared to UK standards. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a variety to choose from including pastries, cold meats, cheese and a variety of breads with plenty of strong italian coffee to wash it down. Location was perfect, really central just a few minutes walk to St. Marks square and the grand canal for catching a vaporetto or a gondola. All in all an excellent stay, would definitely recommend!

- Laurie L (10/5): - I felt like a princess staying in this room. The chandelier in the bathroom probably cost more than my house! We stayed in the annex and had a beautiful terrace to relax on. The room was spotless and cleaned every day. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning felt great after being out in the sun. It was also very close to the square and the dock where you get dropped off. We only had to walk about 2 blocks with our luggage. I would definitely stay here again!

- Lisa (10/5): Fun time in Venice - The location was great with a 5 minute walk to all shopping and St. Marks square. Rooms are small but beautifully decorated. The garden area is best for end of day relaxation. I very much enjoyed the breakfast and terrace area for dining.

The only reason I rated it low is that during our stay the AC didn’t work appropriately and with small rooms, it was a bit uncomfortable stay. Otherwise, the hotel is clean, well behaved staff, decent breakfast and quiet rooms.

This is the place to stay in Venice!

It is ideally situated 5 minutes' walk from Piazza San Marco, and the water buses at San Zaccaria which can rake you to the airport in an hour, or to the Santa Lucia train station in 30 minutes. Breakfast is available, served in the palatial first floor dining room by quiet helpful staff. Fresh fruit, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, are all avaliable on b and b basis, but a la carte dishes come at a price and include smoked salmon, avocado, and omelettes cooked to order. The rooms are serviced daily, with fresh towels. A tiny lift takes you up to your room. Our small twin room on the 3rd floor was clean and adequately furnished, and the beds were comfy, but the bathroom needed updating. The shower was over the bath and there was no hand rail to help get in and out, and no slip mat. The nightmare hair dryer was a tube attached to the wall, activated by pulling on it, but pulling on it made it come off the wall and stop.working! It also had extremely low power, so bring your own haurdryer! The front desk staff were extremely helpful and chatty, and provided maps and recommendations of restaurants close by for dinner. They will print off documents if needed. There is a 'garden" on the ground floor, but it is just a small courtyard with a bench and a few plants. There is a little bar by the entrance for aperitifs or nightcaps, but it was always empty, and we got the impression it was more for the night staff to sleep in!

It was clean, spacious, and the staff were wonderful. The bed was decent, though not very comfortable—it was a memory foam mattress that felt a bit uneven. Despite that, it was an excellent stay overall.

No kettle no tea no coffee usually a 3 star hotel has the kettle/coffee/tea making facilities. Staff were kind and helpful. They allows you to leave your luggage behind after check in. I suppose for one night it’s okay.
- Michelle (8/5): Clean but small for a family - We got a junior suite for our family of 4. It was on the 3rd floor with a Queen bed, and 2 twin beds. It was very tight as there wasn't much space to spread out. It was fine for a couple of nights but not more than that...unless you have small children or a couple. The location was good as we were able to find good restaurants and the main attractions are nearby. Close to the waterbus/vaporetto station as it was only 5 mins walk from the S. Zaccaria station.

The only problem was the people above us were incredibly noisy banging around in the wee hours of the morning, but thats hardly the hotel’s fault!

- UA (2/5): - We decided not to use at his hotel. All news media and even city of Venice warned about conditions on the ground due to unusually severe floods. However hotel staff kept saying the hotel was ready to receive us. We contacted hotel several times about alternate options as we were concerned about safety as I was traveling with my family. But they appeared more interested in forfeiture of deposit vs safety of their customer. Even Expedia was very accommodating and helped us significantly but hotel staff was not being reasonable. I would not recommend anyone dealing with hotel staff that does not bother about customers safety.

- Kristine/James (10/5): Amazing location! - We had an amazing stay in casa verardo, it is 3mins walk from san zacaria station, very easy to find, the hotel is very close to st. Marks square like 3minutes walk. Lots of shops, restaurants nearby, the only thing i dont like on this hotel is the hair dryer.. I just don't get it..you have to pull the tube and it was too weak. They need to change and update their hair dryer. I havent seen those hairdryer it was very old maybe. The bed is hard. We have a free breakfast but when you buy it from there it was 15euro a person, you'll get scrambled eggs, bacon, croissant, bread, yougurt, canned mixed fruits, fresh fruits like apple and oranges, orange juice, apple juice and coffees.cold ham and cheese thats it. I will def staying in this hotel but i hope they updated their hairdryer. They have house keeping everyday. The tax is 3.50 per person per night we paid 21 euros for 2 persons for 3 days..

Good-sized room, comfortable bath rather than just a shower, plenty of hot water, reliable WiFi, and the general atmosphere, apart from occasional canned music, was just right for this lovely old building. (Would have been nice to have a box of tissues in the room.)
- Sophia (2/5): - We had originally booked to stay in the annex but when we arrived there were workmen and scaffolding right outside our window. After two nights of disturbance and noise we asked to change rooms. The owner and general manager to whom we complained was aware of the workmen and scaffolding and agreed it was noisey. He also agreed to move us if we paid for a new room on top of what we had already paid for the original room. When I protested he said that he was the owner and got to decide on everything. He knew about the workmen and noise and didn’t care about his guests but saw it as an opportunity to extract more money out of us. Not the type of customer service I expect from anyone let alone a hotel owner. Luckily Expedia stepped in and negotiated for us but it should not have got to that stage. As a sweetener he offered us free breakfast. The breakfast is very disappointing and if had been paying €15 per person I would have asked for a refund. All in all very disappointing, there are plenty of other hotels in Venice so don’t book here!

- Ian & Rosie (10/5): Superb location a Jewel in the heart of venice - We have stayed in this hotel 5 times, the service is outstanding and very personal, Pier the manager is fantastic and really goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. It is a jewel in the heart of venice with a beautiful courtyard to sit and relax quietly away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We have stayed in a lot of hotels in venice over the years including Hotel Danielli , but this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in venice and would highly recommend to all. We love it and we are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Pier and your fantastic team.
