• ROBERT (8/5): A warm, friendly, intimate hotel conveniently located. - Our room was spacious and airy. The bathroom was small, but with its walk-in-shower it was adequate for our needs. The breakfast room is also small, but the service was excellent and the food wholesome and nourishing. But above all else it was the hospitality and friendliness of the staff that most lingers in our memory. For example it was no trouble for them to carry our heavy baggage up and down the stairs when asked. The building is quite old; you have to climb stairs and there are no lifts. Therefore it is not suitable for people with mobility problems.

Die Lage des Hotels war optimal. Der junge Mann war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und gab sich alle Mühe die Gäste zufrieden zu stellen.

• Rallebär (5/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal, super Frühstücksservice mit Bedienung am Tisch. Breites, bequemes Bett. Zimmer zum Innenhof. Einrichtung des Zimmers etwas in die Jahre gekommen und ziemlich spartanisch. Kleines Bad/Dusche. Eine Tür vom Kleiderschrank hat geklemmt. Die Eingangstür zum Zimmer hat bei jedem Luftzug im Gang laut geklappert. Und nachts zwischen 1 und 4 Uhr ein lästiges dumpfes Brummen von nebenan. Vermutlich Klimaanlage eines Geschäfts. Dadurch sehr schlecht geschlafen.

• Guido (8/5): Alles in allem ein schönes kleines familiäres Hotel mitten im "Kiez". - Das Personal ist ganz klar der grösste Pluspunkt des Hotels. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Ein tolles Team! Die zentrale Lage war hervorragend für unsere Zwecke. Das Frühstück war preiswert und sehr gut. Es war sehr sauber und die Betten bequem. Die Ausstattung ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, war für uns aber auch kein Drama, es hat alles funktioniert.

• Tatiana (4/5): Good for a short stay but bad experience with strong cigarette smoke in the building - It was a good convenient location and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious. Unfortunately, the room I was given had an extremely strong smell of cigarette smoke which is usually the case if someone constantly smokes in the room or the building. Whilst the staff accommodated me and gave me another room which was much better in terms of clean air, but it seems the whole building has the cigarette smoke and it is just unavoidable. This is unfortunate as otherwise it's a decent place to stay with nice spacious rooms and the place is clean.

• Tina (4/5): - Sowohl in dem ersten angebotenem Zimmer, als auch im zur Verfügung gestellten Ersatzzimmer hat es durchgängig nach Zigarette gerochen. Selbst intensives Lüften half nichts. Es hängt in den Möbeln bzw. Teppich und man hat selbst im Bett das Gefühl man liegt im „Aschenbecher“ Bettrand hatte Flecken, Laken hatte ne Loch und an der Decke waren undefinierbare Flecken.

• Lucy (9/5): Would go again in a heartbeat! - Myself and my partner had a wonderful stay at Hotel am Hermannplatz. The staff were very hospitable and kind and catered to our every need The hotel and room was very clean with double layered windows, radiators and extra blankets for warmth. The beds are very sizeable and comfortable. The hotel provides free WiFi and TV’s in the rooms. The bathroom provides towels, hand soap and body/hair soap and is a great size (Note the shower can be a bit slow to drain but it’s not a big deal). The breakfast was a lovely set variety of breads and toppings, meats and cheeses, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and juice with good vegetarian options and plenty to keep us fuelled for the morning. The location was perfect, situated nicely between two stations on the reliable U8 line with excellent transport links to central Berlin and the airport with the S-Bahn (overground), regional trains, trams and buses all in close proximity. The area boasts several local eateries, a small local park and numerous corner shops and two larger supermarkets Lidl and Penny. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future. The showers can take time to drain but this is such a minor issue. The property is otherwise perfect!

• Ethan (10/5): - Very clean and great value. Helpful staff who were happy to hold a suitcase for the day after I checked out. The street that the hotel is on isn't the most picture-esque but minor issue because lovely streets nearby. Bathroom on the smaller side but very serviceable.

• Angelica (7/5): Einfache Unterkunft am Kottbusser Damm - Sehr nette Mitarbeiter, Möglichkeit eines kostenlosen Parkplatzes im Hinterhof, unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig, Zwischenraum im Kastenfenster ersetzt Kühlschrank Einfach verglaste Kastenfenster zur Hauptstraße ließen jedes Geräusch und Kälte herein. Die Einrichtung und das Badezimmer sind renovierungsbedürftig. Das Bettzeug hatte einen ungewaschenen Geruch und die Handtücher hatten Löcher.

• Ilonka (8/5): Immer wieder gerne :-) - Das Hotel wird von sehr sympathischen Mitarbeitern geführt. Empfang, Zimmer, Frühstück...alles ist absolut empfehlenswert. Einzig der Lärm von der Straße schmälert das Wohlfühlempfinden etwas. Mit Ohrstöpseln kann man das aber gut aushalten und auch gut schlafen.

Wir wurden von ihm sehr freundlich empfangen. 11.01 Am nächsten Morgen war eine Dame an der Rezeption. Sie hat auch das Frühstück gemacht. Den Joghurt den sie uns hinstellte war abgelaufen genauso wie die Kaffeesahne! Wirklich freundlich wirkte sie auch nicht. An dem gekochten Ei waren kleine Haare.

• Tanja (8/5): Schönes Hotel ,Preis- Leistung stimmt. - Ich habe das Hotel Anhang der Bewertung gebucht. Und war doch überrascht das die Aussagen zu 99% stimmen und das ist Posetiv gemeint. Das Hotel ist wirklich toll hat einen intressanten charm trotz der Gegend. Unser Zimmer war toll und hatte alles was man für den aufhalt braucht. Personal war super freundlich und da wir mit freunde angereist sind wurde ein zimmer getauscht um Nachbarn sein zu können 😅😊 . Schlechten Geruch im Badezimmer es stank muffig /alt. Waschbecken und Dusch ablauf verstopft daher wohl auch der Geruch. Matratzen hatten schonbezüge aber Flecken waren trotzdem drauf

Had a problem opening our door the first night and went down to reception to ask for help. Staff member was rude and acted very inconvenienced. She did come and open the door but never showed us how to do it ourselves like asked, just said it’s simple and left and didn’t even acknowledge the other guest when she said hi. We eventually found out ourselves after 10/15 minutes of trying, the knack to opening the door. All we needed was her to take two minutes to show us how. As you can imagine being two young females travelling the idea of getting home late and the door not opening was anxiety provoking.

This is not a chain hotel, so it may feel a bit quirky if you prefer chains. It makes up for that with charm, cleanliness, and a really wonderful staff. I arrived on a pouring evening, I was pretty grumpy. The person at the reception desk greeted me warmly, we made some conversation, then he proceeded to show me my room, which was large, clean and comfortable. I did not book breakfast with them, so I cannot comment about that. I chose this hotel based on other user reviews here, and because it was exactly in the area of Berlin that mattered to me. This part of the city has many bars, cafés, and restaurants; it's well connected by public transportation, and it's a good base to move around the East side of Berlin. The shower may be a bit small if you're tall or are a big person. It may be hard to access if you have accessibility needs. I did not inquire further about accessibility at the hotel. If you have accessibility needs, contact them: they're super nice.
