- Lorena (9/5): - The location was perfect, near the train station and the center. The placement in the middle was very crutial for our short trip. The staff was very kind, responsive and with a knowledge of how to treat the client.They resolve in time an issue that occurred.
The decoration was awsome, old fashioned, just like it should be a typical venetian house. I liked it so much and i would definitely go back when i visit Venice. The area near the hotel was very nice and different from the other parts of Venice, with restorant near the canal. We could not switch off the central heating, so it was very hot during the night.

What we liked the most was its location — very close to the train station and with easy access to the whole city. The check-in experience was amazing; we were welcomed with drinks and great kindness. (12/10/2025) No me gustó en absoluto que en el momento del check out el personal (que era diferente al del check in) fue descortés adicional lo pactado la noche anterior era que podiamos dejar nuestras maletas en recepción hasta el momento de nuestro siguiente viaje pero en el check out esto no lo permitieron y solo dejaron tenerlas en recepción por dos horas, este tipo de decisiones deberian ser coherentes para todos los miembros del hotel dado que implican que los turistas deban planear su itinerario y en este caso nuestra experiencia por este inconveniente perdimos 5 horas de experiencia de poder la ciudad.
I did not like at all that during check-out, the staff (different from those at check-in) was discourteous. The agreement made the night before was that we could leave our luggage at the reception until the time of our next trip, but at check-out, they did not allow it and only let us keep them there for two
hours. Decisions like this should be consistent among all hotel staff, as they affect how tourists plan their itineraries. In our case, due to this inconvenience, we lost five hours of the opportunity to enjoy the city.

The next morning, I spoke to the guy at reception, and he already knew there was no hot water. It was extremely warm, and I couldn’t take a shower — it ruined my trip.

In bagno ci è stato lasciato solo un rotolo di carta igienica praticamente finita, la doccia si smontava e i tappi di rubinetto e bidet non facevano passare l'acqua. Il letto non presentava lenzuolo e c'era solo una di quelle coperte che non danno l'idea di pulito (quindi abbiamo dovuto dormire scoperte). Vengono dati solo due asciugamani piccoli a persona. La reception non è sempre attiva, infatti la sera, quando ci serviva la carta igienica non c'era nessuno per fornircela. È però arrivato uno dei responsabili a portarcela dopo un pò di tempo (apprezzabile il servizio di notte).
Non tornerei in questo hotel neanche se mi pagassero.

La connessione internet nella struttura non arriva e non è possibile avere. L’accoglienza è stata nulla, ho dovuto addirittura chiamare l’hotel per farmi aprire la porta, per poi scoprire che all’interno della struttura non era presente nessuno.

I would like to complain about Hotel Henry in Venice, we have
booked the hotel through your website.
My daughter and her friend recently became 18 and decided to offer them a trip as a present.
They arrived in Venice, they were looking to find the hotel, hotel was closed, they rang the owner and told them that a key was hidden in a place and to collect it and open the door, entering the hotel?????? They noticed on a table many keys and told them to take the key with the number 6. I have to mention that they have seen a single person in the place.
They went to the room, very creepy and smelling badly. They decided to take a bath, the lamp burned and the air conditioners were not working. They decided to call the owner to solve the issue. The owner told them to go back to the room where the keys were on the table and get another room key, so they did.
They went back to the new room frightened and scared, still haven't seen a person. They decided to go to sleep since they were tired of the journey.
Early morning hours, they heard people knocking on all the doors and shouting, they decided to stay calm, we are talking about 2 teenagers who are 18 years old. They were afraid to let us know the whole situation
To be very honest with you I am very frustrated and upset.

- Andrea (2/5): - Horrendous. Bed bugs!!! Broken AC, shower, shower door, running toilet, broken mirror, rising damp, damn smell, noise. Not to mention other smaller issues like stained sheets. NO ONE at check in, nor check out. No manager in between either. Only glimpsed a house cleaner once (only spoke Italian). Text with owner/manager was our only contact, and she made NO effort to come address the issues, and eventually ignored my texts. Other guests complained of no hot water and no AC also. They didnt have the owners contact info, so u shared it with them. Owner missed two appointments to meet with her, wasting my time in Venice. Ive traveled many many countries on a budget, including the poorest regions in Africa and Asia and South America. Have never experienced anything luke this. This is not a cheap hotel at $150 per night. The Hilton is only $20 more, but at 8pm after long travels, we could not walk a further 40min to another hotel!
In travel, especially on a budget, one is bound to find "quirky" accommodations. The owner/manager's best intentions to provide a pleasant experience, is most often the difference between a recommendtion and a complaint. This is a complaint.

- Ilona (4/5): Good location and that’s it. - It has good location - close to bus station, train station and vaporetto stops. It is located in more peaceful part of time. You can find good food with good prices nearby. This is more like airbnb than a hotel - there is no one at the reception desk, so do not expect any contact person or any information desk. When we came to the hotel we were given the keys by a cleaning lady who didn’t speak English. I booked double room with twin beds but we had one instead. We needed to wait until the beds were separated. I had dinner included in price of room but no one told me where to eat it - there was no room for that at the hotel - I had to contact the hotel owner via whatsapp to find out where to eat. At first they did not reply so we missed our dinner on the first day. On the second day I called owner on whatsapp and only then I got the info about the restaurant in which we had dinner reserved. The place wasn’t too expensive but still the level of service is much less than we expected.

There was no staff on the property. Not when we arrived at 13:30, not when we came back to the hotel 21:55 nor when we left at 6:41 the following morning. When we returned at 21:55 we plugged a phone in to charge using the correct plugs and all the power blew. We were left in a dark room. I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp and they talked us through checking the fuse boxes!. We couldn’t see or fix the problem so we were moved to another room.

Quieter location. Never saw one member of staff - just a text as we arrived to let is in.
Our room was not one of the 'recently renovated' as claimed on the description. One shower door was stood at the side of it, showering was an art form trying not to flood the bathroom! The wardrobe doors hanging off and no coat-hangars. No working light bulbs in the corridors.
Tv and aircon didn't work.
The shutters wouldn't open on the window so permanently dark- good for sleeping!

Dizia que o hotel tinha recepção de 09:00 às 22:00, porém só chegou gente na recepção quase 10:00, deixamos as malas e retornamos às 14:00 - hora do check-in. Não tinha ninguém na recepção novamente, ninguém atendeu o interfone, nem o telefone. Conseguir falar somente pelo WhatsApp e a pessoa passou as orientações para entrar.
A senha do Wi-Fi que passaram era errada, o aquecedor não funcionava, a água do chuveiro e da pia eram geladas. Pedi auxílio, disseram que tinha que esperar 10min para a água aquecer. Esperamos mais de meia hora e nada. Reclamamos e disseram que foram lá e verificaram e estava ok, mas não foi ninguém conferir.

There was mould in the bathroom for our original room, which made it difficult to breathe. The room smelled terrible when we entered and we had to keep the window open, which is obviously not good in winter. TV had no reception.
After we complained we were given a cleaner better room, but the gas heater in that room didn’t work.
There was no one at reception throughout our stay. We were only able to get into the hotel because other guests were leaving, and found our keys left for us on the reception desk.

Ficamos um bom tempo a deriva, esperando no frio, na porta do hotel, sem nenhuma comunicação. E era por volta de 15h. Depois descobrimos um contato pelo WhatsApp e aí a pessoa remotamente abriu a porta do hotel. O quarto é pequeno, simples demais, com paredes húmidas saindo a tinta, com cheiro de umidade (morfo), o chuveiro está desregulado e a água esquenta e esfria sem nossa interferência. Na nossa saída tivemos o mesmo problema inicial: deixamos as malas para pegar no meio da tarde e quando viemos pegar as malas o hotel estava fechado e ficamos esperando, sem resposta, por mais de trinta minutos. É lamentável fazer uma avaliação ruim, mas essa é a verdade dessa nossa experiência.

I am more upset with Hotel.com than property itself how it can’t validate this kind of property and fair price.
- Nobody is at the reception. I informed the arrival time and texted and called to the staff at my arrival, but she didn’t come to open the door. Tourists came out from the property, so we can come in, picked up the room key and figured out everything by ourselves.
- Dirty & shabby facility & equipment
Moldy smell in the room
Broken mirror (very sharp, very dangerous) in the bathroom, broken lights. (Texted to the staff and she said to fix, and didn’t come)
Shower doesn’t function well. Water temperature is unstable/unadjustable. Cold shower in the winter time
No courage to use some liquids in the dirty bottle in the bathroom. We rushed to the supermarket to buy shampoo and shower gel.
Luckily, we didn’t have bug problem

No receptionist, instead a remote “customer service” to open the door and answer your questions - if you can reach them, that is. The room smells bad, very cold, the heater/air conditioner doesn’t work, dirty bathrooms, noisy guests and thin walls, the blow dryer didn’t work for me so I had to get out in the winter to take my train with wet hair. I wouldn’t stay in this hotel more than a single night.
- Griselda (2/5): Don’t book it. - Location. Don’t be fooled by the photos! They’re from another era. Nothing to do with the current state of the hotel. Nobody is on reception. The room smelled like mold. The bathroom doesn’t even has a door!! Won’t recommended at all. They offer a dinner instead of breakfast, but the restaurant staff will treat you poorly to say the least, and will actually serve you after at least 45 minutes (we counted 🤣). Don’t waste your time and money on this messy and smelly place for an extra saving! It doesn’t worth it!

J’ai séjourné dans cet hôtel à Venise et j’ai été très déçue. À notre arrivée, personne n’était à la réception et nos clés de chambre n’étaient pas disponibles. Nous avons dû appeler un numéro italien pour savoir dans quelle chambre nous devions aller, entraînant des frais supplémentaires.
La chambre elle-même était loin des standards attendus. La salle de bain était délabrée, avec du carrelage manquant et des traces de rouille. Le lit était trop petit, et les pieds de mon compagnon, qui n’est pas très grand, dépassaient. Les draps étaient usés, avec des déchirures visibles, et il n’y avait pas de couette. J’ai eu froid pendant la nuit, mais sans personnel sur place, il était impossible de demander une couverture supplémentaire.
Enfin, malgré la mention d’un point de café et thé disponible dans l’hôtel, celui-ci n’existait pas.
Pour 110 € la nuit, je m’attendais à bien mieux. Très décevant !
- Jutka (7/5): Very good value for money in a small, cosy and quiet hotel in excellent location, with nice staff. - Room was clean and quiet. Nice cotton sheets and towels. Bed very comfortable. Hotel is easy to find, and in my favourite district in Venice. Free evening meals were delicious. I had the best carbonara I ever had there, and now know how it is supposed to be cooked.
And the hard working staff who served us at the restaurant were most charming, even when rushed off their feet. Not a complaint really, but hoping my suggestion will help make staying there even nicer? The restaurant is about an 8 minute walk from the hotel, which cannot be helped, but it looked a bit like a school cafeteria rather than a cosy Venetian eatery. If I may suggest, putting little lamps on the tables and turning down the glaring overhead lights would be a big improvement and make guests think it was worth the walk. And the food really is delicious and fresh and as good, if not better, than many more expensive places.
Please, just make the restaurant prettier.
- Franccesca (7/5): Good - It is really close to Venice Santa Lucia's Train Station and it's confortable to get there. We stayed for a brief time and it was alright for walking all around and getting back to sleep. It is near one of the main streets which is confortable. In the shower it was hard to put on a right temperature. If you opened it too much to the left, it was burning hot and if you moved it a little to the right, it was freezing cold.
It's a bit old but it's cared and it's okay if you want something near to explore the city.
- Stephany (8/5): It was okay - It was not crowed outside When you enter the room, it has an old smell, I guess, because of the furniture. They offer free dinner which is great for your budget cause venice is expensive however we eat the 1st day only and we had to wait around 40 min to get the food which was ok. The 2nd night we were waiting for almost an hour and we didn't even get the menu. staff saw that we were there but they didn't approached to say "we will be with you shortly " or something like that. They ignore us. Plus, the restaurant had so many mosquitos, so we just decided to leave and go eat somewhere else beside that the room was okay. We stayed 2 nights only so it wasnt bad. We would recommend them to take away the free dinner. .

Try to check in at 1pm with the baggage; couldn’t do, took to storage.. came back.. still couldn’t checkin afternoon either.
‼️‼️The property was not prepared for me or all other guests on the day. Almost 6-7 room guests were waiting till 7.15pm for our rooms.
We reported our concern to bookings.com; not sure any fast actions were taken to rectify
The hotel & reception left deserted from 2.30..3 pm to 7.30pm, no one at premises. Other guests manage to contact caretaker by phone: as we didn’t have any way of contacting them.
Caretaker said; the house keeping person went on strike and that was the delay; however Later around 7.30pm they told us to go for dinner and come back and room will be ready.
Around 9/9.30 pm my room was ready; while I saw others rooms getting ready;
I sympathise the care taker with the baby making sure we have a place for sleep; however from my observation and seeing the pile of soiled towels in bundles tell me this is happening more than 48-72 hours at the premises.
Why the hotel operator did not inform us
Why should we pay for a checkin at 2pm and literally allowed to checkin at 9.30 pm?
I left around 7.00am, less than 10 hr stay

Blankets are not appropriate and not able to use.
