- Kevernscott (6/5): Solid Business Option with Trade-offs - One night business stay at Anna 1908. Clean, efficient, well-located - but comes with compromises. The room is small. Accept this upfront. The shower design could use work - tight quarters that make washing awkward. Check-in runs strict at 3 PM with no early exceptions. I asked to be let in the room 5 mins early to set up for a conference call, but no dice. Ended up taking the call on the outside patio, nice space but not super ideal for conference calls. For the positives: The hotel runs professionally. Everything works. The digital check-in system is smooth. Location delivers - easy metro access and you’re in a good part of town. The complimentary coffee machine in the lobby makes genuinely excellent coffee and tea. Quality stuff, not the usual hotel swill. Staff are competent and courteous. The place feels clean and well-maintained. I passed on breakfast but watched other guests enjoying what looked like a proper spread - regret skipping it. The price feels steep for what you get space-wise, but you’re paying for location and reliability. If you need somewhere clean, connected, and professional without frills, it works. Just don’t expect luxury for your euros.

Heb goed kunnen parkeren in parkeergarage van het hotel zelf. Euro 12 per nacht is een prima prijs. Kamers zien zeer netjes uit. Er wordt goed gepoetst. In de ochtend wordt er wel vrij hard met deuren geslagen. Maar dat is dan ook het enigen minpunt.

- AngieD1160 (8/5): Good location, spotless, comfortable, definitely going back! - This hotel achieves the rare feat of combining modern functionality with "Gemütlichkeit" in lots of little touches - quality breakfast spread incl. fresh topnotch bakery items, cute breakfast tableware, lovely vintage bench in the foyer waiting area with a side table offering a jug of water created like a work of art with fruit and herbs... I had a spacious 3rd floor corner room with a little balcony, shame a bit cold to sit out in February (unsurprisingly). Room spotlessly clean, bed super-comfy and good twin configuration had there been 2 friends sharing, for example. High end bathroom fittings, good clothese storage, comfy sofa, and that thing that British hotels just don't get: coat hooks!! Mini-bar had good essentials; no hot drinks available in the room but I always think that's an over-rated facility anyway, and they cleverly provide great quality self-service free coffee, tea etc in the dining room all afternoon and early evening anyway. The tiny lift accessed via a very cold hallway is not very welcoming, but otherwise reception was friendly and efficient. Location is away from the madding crowds but only a 3-minute walk from major bus routes and U-Bahn to get you straight into the public transport network. Thoroughly recommend.

- Weltbummler_1955 (10/5): Feels like home in a Berlin district full of Art Nouveau beauty and few tourists - I visit Berlin regularly, having lived there 1995-1999, and this is my go-to hotel. The vibe mirrors the neighbourhood — genteel, cozy, and authentic. The staff is laid back, yet attentive. Rooms are comfortable and quiet; the breakfast buffet excellent. Most guests appear to be Germans 40 years old +, so not a bunch of loud hipsters wanting to party. U-Bahn station (U9) and several bus line stops are just around the corner; S-Bahn station about a 10-minute walk, so all of Berlin is easily reached. Major shopping, restaurants, cafes all walking distance. Heaven, even in winter.

It is possible to use the hotel fully automatically without any need to see any member of staff should you wish. The keys are all on your mobile phone. As such, it feels faintly impersonal although highly convenient and modern.

It was very quiet, could sleep with open window. The apartment was clean with basic hotel accessories. We enjoyed the breakfast, with a fine buffet and a relaxing atmosphere.

- Reina (4/5): - Whilst this was a charming property in a relatively good location with convenient walking distance to dinning and public transportation, our stay was not comfortable. Unfortunately this property did not have AC and we stayed during a hot week. The room was on the top level 4th floor which made it hotter. Only one bottle of complimentary water during our entire stay and the only cooling method was a small fan and opening two small windows without bug screens. It was so hot this is how we slept. We had to deal with car noises and possible bugs coming in as well as second hand smoke from the balconies below. There is a parking lot in front that added to noise and lights being on all night that we couldn't block out due to the windows having to be open for ventilation. This was definitely not a no-smoking hotel as every time we walked the hallway to a very small lift the smell of smoke was present. As I was traveling with my daughter who has a health condition these were not appreciated circumstances. The last night we were there she coughed and wheezed most of the night. Another con is there is no nighttime support at the front desk, to support in case of an emergency. The worst part was they overcharged us they did not honor the expedia price I booked which was 155$ breakfast not included and as mentioned no AC. The average cost per night they billed was 250$. More than the cost of local full service hotels listed on expedia such as the Radisson with AC Spa Restaurant,

- Dirk (6/5): Opzet heel mooi, kamer bleek onrustig te liggen - Wij verbleven 2 nachten in het hotel en hadden de kleine 2-persoonskamer gekozen. Die is erg klein, inclusief het bed. De ligging van de kamer was aan een binnenplaats. Om 5.30 uur begon het keukenpersoneel met de voorbereidingen van het zeer uitgebreide ontbijt via de achteringang. Daarvan werden (en bleven) wij wakker. Een dichtbijzijnde airco/warmtepomp was de gehele nacht hoorbaar. Zondagnacht kwam er via de binnenplaats veel lawaai binnen van feestvierende jongeren vanuit een naastgelegen perceel. Buiten 25 gr. dus de ramen open (geen airco). In combinatie met het smalle bed (140 cm) erg onrustig. Gratis koffie tot 21 uur, buitenterras open tot 21.30 uur. Zou in een stad als Berlijn wat langer kunnen. Bij het ontbijt werd rekening gehouden met dieet-wensen.
- ari405 (8/5): Good hotel in a residential neighborhood of Berlin - This is a small hotel in a largely residential neighborhood within walking distance of several train stops in Berlin. Although the building dates to 1908, it has been renovated and everything appears relatively new. The room was small but had what we needed, except no coffeemaker or kettle. They will give you hot water at the front desk if you ask. The staff was friendly and helpful, storing our luggage for us twice and bringing it up to our room (up stairs) when the room was ready. Like most German hotels, it does not have air conditioning. It was somewhat hot when we were there but we kept the windows open and used the fan. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, but it's still the city, so there is sometimes noise outside. We didn't get their breakfast so can't comment on that.

- Barbara (8/5): Nettes, sauberes Altbauhotel in Steglitz - Das Hotel liegt in Steglitz, in einer angenehmen, recht ruhigen Wohngegend. Trotzdem sind fußläufig innerhalb weniger Minuten die U9 und div. Autobuslinien erreichbar. Wir haben uns im Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt, das Personal war sehr freundlich und die Sauberkeit Top. Zum Frühstück können wir nichts sagen, da wir es nicht dazugebucht haben. Zwei Kleinigkeiten: es gibt keine Klimaanlage, bei unserem Aufenthalt im Juli war es trotz Verdunkelung tagsüber ziemlich heiß im Zimmer. Mit Ventilator war es erträglich. Die Schlafcouch war für unsere Töchter mit 11 und 12 Jahren ungeeignet - für kleinere und leichtere Kinder könnte es in Ordnung sein - bei unseren Kindern hat sie Rückenschmerzen verursacht und bei jeder Bewegung laut geknarzt, sodass wir alle wach wurden. Ausserdem bleibt bei ausgezogener Couch kaum mehr Platz im Zimmer um sich zu bewegen - das sollte man wissen, wenn man das Zimmer zu 4t bucht.

- EarlyRetirementAbroa (8/5): Very basic accommodation - The staff at the hotel is awesome! Can't express enough how much we appreciate their kindness, knowledge and customer focus. Deep respect to such amazing team! Our small room was... small, but very clean. The beds and pillows were soft and comfy, the linens and towels - pristine while. The room was cleaned daily and towels were changed as requested. Plus a lovely view from the window and aroma of the blooming linden trees. A few things shocked us initially. It was an unpleasant surprise to see that there are no room amenities: no kettle, no tea, no cups, no drinking water. Only two glasses and the bottle opener. Unpleasant discoveries continued after visiting the bathroom. Again, no toothbrushes, no toothpaste, no shampoo & conditioner (only washing liquid inside the shower stall and next to the sink), no slippers, no even shower cap! I am not mentioning the bathrobes... Since we had with us our own slippers and shower cap, the absence of the basic stuff offered everywhere else around the globe, did not spoil our stay. But honestly, for €145 euro per night I really expected more. So come prepared, bring all small items that could make your stay comfortable, and you will have a great stay, as we have had.

- Mietziecats (10/5): Excellent! - Absolutely loved this place! We were given a warm welcome when we arrived which is always a good start! The hotel is super clean and amazing value! The location is perfect, quiet but so close to public transport you can easily get to any where in Berlin that you want to get to. Breakfast was a fabulous start to the day. And all the staff were friendly, warm and so helpful. Special thanks to the ladies who ran the breakfast, they were so quick to replenish the buffet and make sure we all had enough coffee and especially to Hans on the front desk, who helped us with our questions and even booked a table for us at a restaurant. Really hope to come back to Berlin in the future and stay here, we loved it and highly recommend!

- JudyWashingtonDC (10/5): Hotel Anna is a delight! - This little hotel in the Steglitz section of Berlin is a delight! My room was roomy and well organized and appointed: very comfortable. I did not eat breakfast there so can not comment on that. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful about getting around Berlin (and or for anything else). The hotel is located just one block from the U9 station so very easy to get anywhere in Berlin. In addition, the hotel is just around the corner from a large shopping street, with lots of shops of all kinds, restaurants, outdoor street food, grocery stores etc. All and all the hotel is in a great location. I could not recommend this hotel more highly.

The front door off of the main road was dark and there were instructions on the door on how to get into your room. There was no staff on the premises to help guide you with the check-in process, which was very confusing. I had to ask someone for assistance because I was not able to get into the hotel on my own.

Only negative is our room was warm and there wasn’t any air conditioning or fan. Luckily our friends lived close by and lent us a fan. Public transportation, restaurants, shopping and groceries were all close by.

You are one block from the UBahn station, and at a shopping venue with both groceries, drogerie, and prepared food. The hotel was quiet, and the breakfast good and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and all seemed to speak some English. If you stay on 3 or 4, there are steps to navigate since the elevator stops between the floors. There is no airconditioning but you can open the windows. We were pleased and will go back.
- David (8/5): Overnight in Berlin - comfortable stay at Anna 190 - The hotel is a little bit of a strange set up with the rooms in another building that also seems to be a residential building. But, the rooms are really nice, clean, well designed and comfortable. I slept very well, the breakfast was good and the emmener of staff that checked me in was very helpful. I wasn’t aware that the reception closes at 18:00 so you should beware of this, but you can check in online and collect your key so as long as you are aware you shouldn’t be put off by that fact.

- Petja (8/5): A spacious budget alternative with reservations - The room (ours was called Our Cosy Room) was sufficient in size and had a nice bathroom, as a surprise there was also a refrigerator – nothing was mentioned about it anywhere and its not in the photos, really nice to have one in any case. Perhaps not all of the rooms have it? A minus was that during the night tobacco smoke came into the room, we're not sure from where, could not find the source. Windows were closed. This points to some problems with the ventilation of the building. The elevator doesn't stop at the same floors with the rooms, so you have to carry suitcases in stairs part of the way. 24 hour parking at the mall in the same block (less than 100 meters away) costs only 5 euros, which is really nice (cash payments only)

- RussB (4/5): - Location is close to a major shopping center and u-bahn station. The breakfast here was very good and included scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. There were lot of sliced meats, cheeses, cereals. The coffee was of low quality. The main problem was the major construction across the street which started with very loud bangs at 6am. I should have been informed about this! And how is it allowed to start construction with loud noises at 6am? In the USA it cannot start before 7 or 8 am typically. Furthermore, this hotel has no AC and temperatures were well above 30 Celsius. The bathroom was extremely small and it was almost impossible the way it was designed to prevent flooding the bathroom floor. The hotel service staff through away my water bottle and my padded envelop which I was using for my IPad. They also left no room in the mini-fridge for my own drinks, and then they tried to charge me for the drinks which I had removed from the minifridge to make room for my own.

- David (8/5): Quiet location, 2 minute walk to bus and subway - If you need good Internet access, go elsewhere. The connection was very slow and occasionally spotty. We arrived after 11 PM from the airport and the doors were locked. You had to call a phone number and they would release a door key and room key from a box by the door. But if you don't have a working phone you're out of luck. It can take a couple of days to get a cell phone SIM card working there (security screening required), so if our Swedish SIM card hadn't worked, we would have been unable to get into the hotel.
