Guest Reviews
- Colm (9/5): Will definitely stay here again - This hotel was wonderful. It was spotless and convenient to Gloucester Road tube station
The staff were so helpful
The breakfast in the courtyard was more than adequate
We had tea and coffee making facilities in our room The reception area was luxurious with refreshments available at any time there We were sorry to have to leave !!
- Brigitte (10/5): Wohlfühl Hotel - Konfortabel, sauber. Guter Service mit lockerer Haltung. Die Lage optimal. Die Treppenstufe gleich hinter der Eingangstüre (Stolper gefahr)
- Bombara (9/5): - La struttura è pulita e accogliente. Lo staff è molto cortese e disponibile. Ci siamo trovati benissimo!
- Elizabeth (8/5): If your attending the AlbertHall, make this your choice. - we were attending the Albert Hall , really close by. The building is lovely has been well decorated with tasteful furnishings. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
the room was small but it had everything you needed, a good bathroom with white company toiletries. nothing.
- Woolgar (5/5): Reception staff good. But breakfast poor and overpriced. - Poor. More choice. Better communication.
- Megan (10/5): Louise as lovely 😊 - Beautiful and perfect location so quiet and scenic Nothing
- 223jillj (8/5): Great location, disappointing breakfast - The hotel was in a great location, suitable for our evening at the Albert Hall.
The room on the third floor was small but had everything we needed including a really big bed and a great shower. Although there were two lifts it wouldn’t be suitable for disabilities as you had to go up stairs to get from one lift to the other to access the upper floors.
Our only negatives were 1) the breakfast which was not worth the money as there was a limited cooked option and very few pastries. 2) the £11.81 apparently taken to hold a credit card on arrival. The receptionist wasn’t able to explain it.
At over £300 for the night including breakfast it seemed expensive but we were glad we stayed over rather than rush home after a concert.
- jon (9/5): -
- Lesley (8/5): A comfortable and convenient place to stay - Lovely comfortable room in a convenient location The breakfast was OK but not great value for money
- Julie (8/5): -
- Victoria (6/5): Convenient and comfortable great shower - Cleanliness Noise disturbance at night slamming doors
- Mark (8/5): - Clean, smart, great location if you are going to the natural history museum or Albert hall Very noisy extractor fan. A little out of the way for underground or shops
- Courtenay (8/5): Great for a one night stay near Royal Albert Hall, clean and comfortable. - The location for Royal Albert Hall, clean rooms, comfortable beds. The selection at breakfast wasn’t huge and the furniture in the rooms were a bit tired.
- Peter (10/5): Superb hotel in fantastic location. - Superb hotel. Staff were friendly and kind. Lovely decor and rooms. Beautiful bedding with fabulous sheets, pillows and comfy mattress. In a superb area for Royal Albert Hall and all the museums. Gloucester Roada 5 minute walk. Quiet and stylish area. Nothing. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
- Nigel (8/5): Nice stop, pricey for room size, but prime Kensington location. Bed v comfortable, breakfast decent. - Very quiet room ,especially for the centre of London. Locataion perfect, 400 yards from Albert Hall. Room very small, barely enough room to walk around the bed
- Kouri (9/5): Breakfast was delicious and the bed and room very comfortable. - 25 min from airport. Quiet street. 2 blocks or 4 min walk to Gloucester tube. Across the street from National History Museum
- Célestin (10/5): -
- Olivera (8/5): Very good central London bolt hole - Superb location for Royal Albert Hall and well appointed, comfortable room which was beautifully decorated. Very good shower. The breakfast offer was meagre, so we went elsewhere.
- HARRY (10/5): Very impressed with our stay. Everyone working there was helpful, polite, kind and engaging, Arj esp -
- David (8/5): -
- Przemysław (9/5): - Rewelacyjna lokalizacja. Czysty, kameralny hotel. W sąsiedztwie wg mnie najpiekniejszego budynku i najciekawszego Muzeum Historii Naturalnej.. obok Kensington Gardens.
- Liz (10/5): - The staff are very attentive and courteous. Breakfast was lovely, beds comfy and rooms delightful .
- Sylvia (10/5): -
- Emma (9/5): Loved it. We will definitely go back - So convenient for the Albert Hall. Really friendly staff and comfortable bedroom.
- Martyna (9/5): Excellent location and good facility, slightly disappointed in cleanliness - Friendly welcome by the receptionist despite there being an error in the reservation details (it was made under a wrong name, I suspect some booking bug). Additionally, my request for a high floor room was satisfied.
Room was pretty small, but that was expected and they managed to fit a small closet inside which is a welcome addition when many similarly-sized rooms often do not provide ANY storage space.
Excellent location and an interesting building. The shelf in the closet was very dusty. It's placed above eye-level so it's difficult to see it's dirty, but I placed some black clothes there and they came out covered in dust. It would have taken a second to wipe it, so it was suprising to say the least.
- King (9/5): Super - Very friendly and helpful staff The timer of energy saving light in the hall way can be "quicker"
- Kevin (8/5): Great stay but breakfast options limited - The location, the room, the staff and service. Everything was smooth and without issue. We were very comfortable in the room and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. We opted to book the hotel with breakfast included. But one person is vegan. Was advised the only vegan options were some tomatoes, cucumbers, and toast.
I'm not sure if this was a misunderstanding. But the non-vegan guest loved their breakfast!
- Carestream health (8/5): Wonderful stay with friendly staff and great location - I had a wonderful stay at the 54 Queens gate hotel
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially Dia and Nathalie, who made me feel very welcome throughout my visit.
The hotel was clean and well-maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable.
The location is also excellent and very convenient and in a lovely area .
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.
- VERONICA (9/5): Particularly enjoyed the single bed room! - The location was excellent for where I needed to be.
- daniele (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): We had a lovely time at 54 Queen's Gate Hotel - It was easy to ride the Tube from the airport to the Gloucester station with a five-minute walk to the hotel. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great. The front staff were very welcoming and helpful, and we were able to check in a little early which was a pleasant surprise. A small fridge and safe were in a closet for water and passports. A small tea service was also available if we had wanted. An easy ten-minute walk to the park in Kensington Gardens. We had a difficult time turning on the radiator for heat as we don't know how they work,.. need directions. We did eat breakfast downstairs one day and it was just ok. There are a few steps to go up into the building from the street, so don't overpack your suitcases!
- Tania (10/5): Have stayed here many times, and we’ll always recommend it - Very friendly staff incredibly helpful
- Oliver (9/5): -
- Mirjam (9/5): Ontspannend - De locatie was perfect, rustige en prettige buurt.
- Jon (10/5): Was just sorry it was such a flying visit - will be back - Smart, quiet, friendly, very comfortable bed
- Luise (10/5): Würden wir wieder buchen - Nähe zum Zentrum, sehr freundliches Personal
- Gail (9/5): Very pleaseant boutique hotel in a great location. - Excellent location for both Glouceter Road and South Kennsington tube stations. Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a single room, which was quiet and reasonably sized. The rooms and hotel are tastefully decorated and there is an air of calm throughout. Would defintely stay here again. The breakfast was a rather modest affair; the buffet a little sad. The serving was also a bit chaotic. I would almost certainly skip this next time.
- Cathy Helsing (8/5): -
- LittleJenny (8/5): lovely hotel but breakfast should have been better. - We had one night here as we were booked to see Tori Amos at the Royal Albert Hall and there was a tube strike. The hotel is in an excellent location just minutes away from the museums and the RAH. Our room overlooked the Natural History Museum. It was spotlessly clean and fresh. It had everything you need. The bed was comfortable. All the rooms are themed, which is lovely and we were able to check in early whch was really helpful. The staff were all friendly too. The hotel is not well soundproofed which could be an issue if you are a light sleeper. The breakfast was cooked to order but the choice of cooked food was very limited - just eggs, sausage and bacon. There were some pastries and cereal etc but if you opt for the 9.30 breakfast some things run out and are not replenished. The price of the breakfast was not good value for what was on offer (even in South Kensington). It is such a great hotel, we expected better for breakfast! If I stay here again I would probably eat elsewhere.
- John (8/5): - Comfortable room, bathroom excellent. breakfast was just O K, cooked food excellent, it was the little things e.g. no sugar, no milk jug on table.
- Jennifer (10/5): - lovely clean room breakfast should have been better for the price and quality of the hotel
- Clive & Diane (10/5): Whistle stop trip to London - Location
Staff really friendly
Hotel absolutely gorgeous.
Room lovely, had everything you needed.
The shower wow!! The best hotel shower EVER!
Bar reasonable.
Breakfast lovely & plenty That we haf to come home
- MIREYA (9/5): Cómodo , elegante y céntrico - La localización, decoración y limpieza
- Peter (8/5): -
- MARIA (10/5): - The architecture and decoration a delight.
Staff were extremely helpful and went beyond their duty to help us: getting luggage to room, storing lugagge, explanation of workings of Hotel.
Everrything very clean and well kept.
Nice toiletries. As expected with old building/house... a bit of a maze getting to my room which was a single.
- Marian (10/5): We liked the beds and the bedlinen. Convenient to evening event. - The bed was very comfy and the bedlinen was great. Thank you.
Hotel was near to Royal Albert Hall so very convenient. No evening meal.
- Bogdan (10/5): i would definitely go there again if i'm in London. - Great location and very helpful staff. we arrived early in the morning and they had a room free, so they allowed us to check in at around 9:00 AM the room is not that spacious, but it might be a common thing in London. The door to the bathroom was really strange :) folding door
- Dennis (8/5): -
- Anne-Marie (8/5): -
- Moira (9/5): - Clean & cosy A bit more tea & coffee in the room would have been pleasant
- Glynnis (9/5): -
- fatmah (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): - Friendly staff. Good price for a single room in a boutique style hotel. Breakfast quite basic for the price.
- Lucia (10/5): Superb stay - All perfect, loved the room and superb service by the staff. The position is very convenient, close to the subway and in front of the National History Museum. Many restaurants are in close proximity as well. The wifi worked poorly all over my stay.
- Chloe (10/5): Excellent, very clean, comfy hotel. Highly recommend. - Lovely, very clean, comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful as they are, it was windy so the sash windows rattled a lot. Not the hotels fault as such, but was a bit annoying.
- Sarah (8/5): Beautiful but breakfast not great service. Don’t leave. A guest guessing what is on offer. Definitely don’t let them be - Comfortable , clean and tastefully decorated Breakfast service was poor. Had get up and ask for everything. Waiter didn’t look like he wanted to be here and cook out in corridor sniffing showing everyone that she had a cold
- Beth (10/5): AMAZING - Absolutely fantastic location - very clean and staff couldn't do more for us . Made it really feel like home! Couldn't recommend it more ! Excellent stay !!! Nothing
- Neil (9/5): - Location Noise transference from neighbouring rooms (I was in Room 10)
Some sound proofing is required
- Adam (10/5): - Excellent hotel All good
- Serkan (9/5): -
- Ethan (10/5): -
- Anne (8/5): Well located, comfortable hotel - Great location, small but comfortable rooms. Pleasant helpful staff. Room got a bit hot in the night despite setting air con on 20’
- LORENZO (8/5): - A small hotel very quiet and well maintained in a great position for the main attraction in west London. They “ upgraded “ my booking with a room in the basement. If you prefer the upper floors it’s better report before you stay.
The heater in the room was turned off
- Altug (10/5): sehr guter Aufenthalt - sehr gute Zimmer, Sauberkeit, Lage, Personal
- Karlyn (10/5): Excellent. - Clean, quiet, wonderful staff. Unfortunately, the walls are a bit thin. I typically travel with ear plugs, so I had no trouble, but just a heads up for light sleepers.
- Karen (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Incredibly comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and friendly service. - Incredibly comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and friendly service. Ideally placed if visiting Royal Albert Hall. An optional service charge is pre-authorised on arrival - you can choose to confirm at check out.
- MaxM720 (10/5): About as perfect for me as it gets - I meant to write a review immediately because this place was about as perfect for me as it gets - and for a price which in Edinburgh would get you something really not very nice not very near the centre.
This was bang in the centre of one of the most attractive parts of London, opposite the Natural History Museum, a stone's throw from Kensington Gardens and the Albert Hall and incredibly convenient for public transport. There was always a responsive and helpful person at reception and when I expressed uncertainty about the key card I was shown how it works. The room was very comfortable and the shower effective and easy to use. I felt thoroughly safe and looked after and, for a hick from the sticks (Scottish Borders) in central London that is saying something. It was also surprisingly quiet. When I next need to go to London I will go straight back to 54 Queens Gate.
- Glassbrook (7/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): A lovely find in a convenient location - Attractive, relaxed, clean, lovely staff and such a comfortable bed!
- Victoria (4/5): - i reserved two rooms accidentally. It was a clear human error. Unfortunately hotel management and bookings.com were not accommodating or receptive to my problem. I did not get an extra room and was not credited either. Huge loss and poor customer service The management of the hotel was not accommodating. I had a minor reservation issue and it was not dealt with on human level. Management of the hotel had no understanding of customer service. I will never stay there or use bookings.com
- Sue (9/5): -
- Tim (9/5): Comfortable and value for money - Very welcoming, great location for the Albert Hall. Lovely big bed! Nothing…
- Clare (8/5): Fab 2nd stay - will return again. - Good location. Friendly staff. Comfy and clean room with a balcony. More coffee etc would be good but more a personal preference than a dislike.
- davideV5888VS (6/5): Not worth the money - Chose this hotel as it was very convenient for The Royal Albert Hall where we were going for an evening's concert (just a short walk away). We knew that it was expensive but, I guess, normal for this part of London and first impressions were good. The receptionist extremely cheerful and helpful, the room although dark (as it was on the lower floor) clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. However it all went downhill on our return from the concert as the room (No. 2) so noisy all night that we hardly got any sleep. Somebody has to investigate where the noises come from! We had to chase around for a toilet roll (only one partly used had been provided) and the breakfast a huge disappointment. The waiter needs to attend charm school to find out how to interact with clients as he was very surly and uncommunicative. The breakfast choices were very limited, I would expect at these prices to have at least a cafetiere of coffee and a jug of milk rather than a cup and find your own milk and when asking for brown sauce to have some brought to the table rather that be directed to find our own on the buffet breakfast table only to find there wasn't any! Would definitely look for an alternative place to stay!
- Barbara (8/5): -
- David (5/5): Acceptable is about how I would describe it but definitely not worth the money - Location was really good as we went to a concert at The Royal Albert Hall - within walking distance. The receptionist was brilliant and really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The room was lovely and clean, the bed comfortable and plenty of storage. Tea and coffee making facilities a bonus. Someone really has to sort out where all the noises are coming from in room 2 as they went on all night so hardly had any sleep whatsoever. At one stage it sounded like furniture being moved around overhead but surely that room is carpeted? The receptionists were great but the waiter at breakfast needs to be sent to charm school, surly and uncommunicative. When asked for brown sauce we were simply directed to look at the buffet table where there was none! When we ordered coffee, he took our cups away and brought them back with the desired coffee but had to find our own milk (on the buffet table with the cereals). Surely at the prices charged a cafetiere of coffee and a jug of milk isn't too much to ask. We should deserve much better! Oh and by the way we shouldn't have to go around asking for toilet rolls, just one partly used on arrival.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb boutique hotel in a great location for good transportation links across London - This hotel is great in every way, extremely comfortable & and excellent location,
Particularly if you can get a deal! Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): -

- Tewodaj (10/5): - Great location, wonderful service and very comfortable rooms The wifi didn't work very well
- Bruna (10/5): Sempre que for a Londres, me hospedarei novamente no 54!
